Very clever hide.... lovely spot....loved the tree.....TFTC. tigersden ...you have made our trip very interesting with all your hide....appreciate it .....
team T.I.N.S on the way home after a wonderful oz mega, and a few more caches to find. great hide. needs new log
Sully1 and I made a long detour to get to the mega in Murray Bridge via Mildura, so this was one of the caches on day 1 for us. Took a second look to see this one, it was central in it's chamber.
Thanks tigersden, good enough spot for us to have lunch
Thanks tigersden, good enough spot for us to have lunch
Wow, what an amazing old tree. I guess if one stood here long enough, there'd be many things we could see in this formation. Bogonghazy and I missed this on the first pass, but picked it up second time round. Thanks to tigersden for highlighting this spot, we decided it was a pleasant area, so made the most of it while here, and made lunch while taking in the views.
We had to drive through Donald, so we spent some time travelling around the town with our caravan in tow searching for caches. Lucky for us its very quiet here on Sundays.
We found a variety of caches in some excellent locations.
An interesting spot fish & tree. Worth a favourite point.
Thanks for placing this cache tigersden

15th of 18 on a drive from Stawell for an afternoon of caching. Definitely a memorable location. Bullock use have been thirsty, looks like he hadn't had a drink in a while!! Geo kids laughed hard when we showed them what we meant! Sneaky squared hide!! TFTC!!
On our way to another cache, RIP Donald, we saw a sign of the Local Cookie Factory. Well worth the detour . Never had cookies so nice and fresh and bought too many! The friendly local who served as was like a local tourist information center and she told us we really had to go and visit Bullocks Head. She showed us pictures on the wall where the Bullocks Head was nearly in the water as well as the giant fish in the water. I knew there was a geocache as well but we had not planned to go there but now we had to! Nice views of the Bullocks Head and the giant fish. Sitting at the lookout enjoying the views I was reading the cache description (on the laptop as I do not have one of those fancy phones) and I had a fair idea where to look and I was not far off. We found the cache in a short time without uploading the details on our GPS. Nice hide. TFTC tigersden.
Well that took longer than it should have, thanks for bringing us to the bullocks head, tftc
Knew where it would be hidden when I arrived at GZ, but did not look carefully enough first time around. Got there in the end. Loved the legend of the bullock and the giant fish TFTC tigersden
Took along time to find but eventualy I found it with a couple of friends while sitting on a chair
Loved it - it does look like a bull!. I carefully placed the cache back so it wasnt in quite so far only to hear it ping when I put the cover back. I hope its reachable [?] TFTC tigersden
SAT here to eat our lunch. Have passed through Donald often but never knew this spot was here. Took us a little while to find it and had to use a stick to retrieve it. Replaced not so far this time.
Now this was quite an irritant because so many people had no trouble finding it. Several times we checked what could be described as boxes but could not locate the cache and log. All the boxes were checked, bar the one that was not there
Found with Kevin the sidekick. Took us longer to get the actual log out than it did to find it! TFTC
Having a great time on holiday.
Slowly working my way back to Ballarat then Melbourne then home - one cache at a time!
Good location.
Soon found after thinking about the hint. SL TFTC

With some welcome cloud cover and in company with Ian & Penny we were headed in a general south easterly direction to our respective destinations. Perhaps the bullock's head proved a distraction on first inspection of the exact spot where the little guy was hiding.

This was our 13th cache find in the caching run & we found it at 13:39
So this now makes our total find count 5811.

We have been spending a week caching around Mildura with Phetlern. Today we are returning down south after a very enjoyable break. For the most part, the caches we have found have been in very good condition, and we are looking forward to seeing some more caches in Mildura and along our route north from Geelong.
This one took us a while to find. (Would Groundspeak really approve of this hide methodology?)
After finding over 5500 caches it is really sad to note that the trend of placing small caches (without swaps) is increasing. While nanos and eclipse tins have their place in an urban environment we believe that their usage has become far too common these days, and many are placed in spots where a decent container could have been hidden. Doesn't anyone want to place clever, large, kid friendly caches any more?
[/blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: Excellent (Under 2 metres)
Cache Condition: Container and log book are in good shape.
Took: Nothing.
Left: Nothing.
Thanks tigersden for the hunt today.

A tricky little find - the Bullock's head sure stands out, as does the fish sculpture across the creak. TFTC
Lunch time on the Saints and SInners annual Bike ride and I sneaked off between courses to locate this cache.
It took a while for the penny to drop and finally I had the little devil in my hand. When you hurry nothing goes right. Extraction was slow- I usually carry tools with me but being on the bike I travelled light. Finally I made my mark and returned it to its resting place. On returning to the hotel desert was being served. Perfect timing.
Thanks for this cleverly hidden cache tigersden

Took a few minutes to find this one. Kept going back to where we thought it was but kept missing it. It was in the first spot I looked. This found found by Geo dad's persistence. Great hide.
Found 10:35am , find # 1528
Today was the last day of a great holiday from Melbourne to the Flinders Ranges, and up to Maree at the south end of the Birdsville Track.
Last night we stayed at Ouyen, and today drove back to Melbourne.
I was able to find 10 caches today but as time was limited, concentrated mainly on traditionals and drive bys. We wanted to get home as early as we could and as well as the caches, we had to allow time for Pam to visit a quilting shop or two along the way.
This one was find number 5 for the day.
We've seen this fish before on the Yarra.
It has a mate at Charlton too.
It would be interesting to have seen the process whereby these fish were distributed after their original purpose was fulfilled.
The cache was in good condition.
Thanks tigersden,

On the way to get some Chinese food for tea and decided to have a look. Always wondered where the Bullock's Head Tavern got its name. Good one! TFTC
Found with geo child on our way home after completing the Wandering hero's series. We are trying to fit in as many caches as we can on the way home to Wonthaggi. Didnt take long to locate this one after the handy clue. Loved the big fish and bullocks head took some pics and off to the next one. Thanks for bringing us here tigerden a favorite from me. TFTC
Find #27
With FUF009 at 2.30pm
After looking all over and under a couple of times we decided to read the hint. Then after a bit of lateral thinking and 10 minutes time we had it. Now the next trick was to get the log out.... managed to do that and get it back in. An interesting hide and an interesting place.
Did not expect something so small

This was the next stop on our way to tomorrow's bushwalk up at Wyperfeld NP. I thought I'd have a try for it sans GPSr as I figured that I knew where it would be hidden. After a couple of minutes of fruitless searching, I grabbed the O3 which pointed me to an entirely different spot . Soon after that, I had the stash in hand from the second place I looked at 14:55 (although the 1st place is looking slightly worse for wear I might say ).
What a great vista across the river bend although there was no sign of the Donald duck .
TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks tigersden.

Grabbed a pie from the bakery and settled down to find the cache. The bullocks head must have kept me distracted, cause we could not locate it. Try again next year.

I came to donald on a ballarat gold bus with a choir for a performance and soon after arriving I had worked out there was a cache 200m away, so I read up on the cache and set off for gz using the iPad for my gps. Found quickly.... Opened container, oops, forgot to bring a pen, & retrieval tool. So I raided the church first aid kit and borrowed a pen......not enough time before singing so straight after off I set again. This time taking my parents to show them the view. Lucky my dad came because I dropped the log sheet and he went down to retrieve it.... Signed log and put it safely back again ready for next find. Great spot.

Seen a similar one in Melbourne last week and we were right.
The profile of the bullock's head appeared as we walked along.
Pretty good resemblance.

FlyingPigSquadron has landed! What a great spot. Loved the story and the natural feature. TFTC&H tigersden
We have visited this area many years ago and didn't understand the name, we thought just a lookout over the river. Since then we have always discarded the sign as we pass through the town. Today with a cache on offer we pulled in and were enlightened with the explanatory boards and newish lookout platform. Thanks for bringing us here again so we could gain the story. As for the cache, very clever it took 7 out of 8 goes to find it, cheers. SL TFTC
Was spotted by owned while trying to retrieve this one Was very close but accepted help. After swapping tags and picking up some travel buddies headed off to continue my travels north.
Thanks
Thanks
Sad that we couldn't find it. It was dark at the time. Looks like some vandals have taken to the table and tried to pull the black caps off?
The cache was a quick and easy find
This area looks brand newish !!
I did enjoy the song lyrics that explain the reason for this oddly shaped tree too !!
But the other information board made me laugh !!
Then I thought about it and realised that sillier things have put other towns on the map [:o)]
LIke giant metal fish sculptures of species that don't even live in your town's river, a Nassau Grouper [?]
A fun location to visit and a great cache [^]

This one isnow back up and running.
Those that have already found this before might want to go back and find it again.
We will let you log it as a find again IF YOU CAN FIND IT.
You will need to REREAD the cache notes and description as there are a few changes.
Good luck and happy caching new year.

Hi riblet,
we have made plans to go over there this weekend now that the roads are open and safe to do so due to the floods we have had recently. If it wasn't for the floods we would have been over there sooner.

We will be going out to check on this one very shortly, just waiting until new bub can travel...
The co-ordinates didn't seem to lead us anywhere of a cache-hiding spot. we didn't spend much time looking either, as we were on a timer to get home. Guess its there for another time.
7th find of 667 overall finds.
With an insufficient reason to head over to Stawell for a work commitment I had to find another reason to add on and make the trip worthwhile. Caching was the obvious addition even though the weather was shocking - very windy and quite cold and wet.
The trip was a bit of an indirect route via a few towns not visited before so a good chance to see what's 'out west'.
Another easy find although the terrain rating is probably about right for a dry day, not a wet one

Found by Mary & David at 0830. This morning, we thought we were back in Canberra, with frost all over the vehicle and 1°C. We've been here before, and recalled that the giant fish may have been one from the Melbourne Commonwealth Games used in the Yarra River procession. The Bullock's Head would die of thirst at present. Our thanks to tigersden.
After all this time without caches Donald is now bristling with them and taking us to some really good spots that I didn't know existed.
Just a billabong in the river at the moment
Easy find

at first the GPS had us at the waters edge then it settled down to reveal the true location all good till i had to help opening the lid
This is a fantastic location, although it is of major tourism importance to Donald we hadn't heard of it before. It truly is a remarkable fluke of nature. We had plenty of time to take in all the information in the area as there was a muggle parked in a car nearby but once he finally left the cache was found quickly.

Number four of our Australia day clean up Tigersden with friends....day.
We'd never heard of this but of course our friends did and took us there without the need for the Garmin.
I couldn't help myself and took a photo.
Left a Smiley fridge magnet and took nothing.
