Logs
Solved this one awhile ago and finally had the chance to find it today. A clever hide but The log book was rather soggy.
# 7923. Robmc and I headed back to Albany for a day of caching and seemed to make rather hard work of it. We started with the ANZAC caches and then headed off to try to pu smilies on some puzzles. The result for the day was 14 finds and one DNF and some long searches along the way.
Well I am astounded. This great little puzzle has been around for over 5 years and it has only been done 22 times. I find that extraordinary. I am giving it a favourite point for the puzzle and the location of GZ. It is good to remember the ANZACs and of course this area has been transformed in recent times.
The log however is falling apart and I understand why now - it has been here a long time. It is very damp and warrants a check up.
Thanks mister_clyde

Day twenty six of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747.
Spent the day in Albany, mainly on Mount Clarence and Adelaide. We figured that seeing ANZAC day was fast approaching we would do the ANZAC series. We had lunch in the Cafe there, and then finished off with a few solved puzzles around Middleton Beach..
We had solved this one quite a while ago with the help of Mr Google, and while we were walking around the hill today we recognized a lot of the words. That would have helped!
A tree at GZ is getting a bit battered, but the cache was a short distance away.
Thanks, Robmc.

Tagged along with Grandma who solved the puzzle. Helped find a nice cache. Thanks for the puzzle and cache Mr Clyde.
Have had the correct coordinates in my puzzle book for quite some time, but was not sure how to proceed. Went to the search area today and had a good look around and there it was. Great puzzle and equally nice hide. Enjoyed the research too. TFTC and TFTH
I had a great time down in Albany, caching most days, followed by scrumptious dinners accompanied by some fantastic local reds. Did this cache after walking round the top of the mountains tracking down the Anzac Centenary caches. Very effective camo found here. Thanks for the smiley mister clyde
This was a tricky puzzle solved some time ago with a bit of a nudge from the CO. So was very pleased to be close to GZ when making a very quick visit to Albany recently. Spent some time wandering the general area, with the GPS having a bad hair day, when it was eventually, and thankfully, found by Tealby. (I hate dnfs on puzzle caches!)
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache mister clyde.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache mister clyde.
After reading some of the past logs we were a little concerned about the location of this cache and its findability, but it wasn't all that hard in then end - and was plainly visible when looking from the right angle. We wasted too much time looking up in the trees, and the tap has nothing to do with it either! TFTC.
Had the puzzle sorted once before but had lost the result, so re-did this puzzle this week and had a go. Took me a while to locate what I was looking for. Had the wrong ... initially, though it was without sign too... Looking further afield finally brought a smile on our faces and finally a smile on the map too
TFTC and the hint Mister Clyde

A lot of beautification and groundwork in the area we had for GZ in preparation for the Anzac celebrations. Will email CO with our theory.
Solved the puzzle and WP easy. Finding the cache was another story. The cache was 34 mts away from GZ which made the find near on impossible for us on Saturday morning.. Luckily we had some help locating the final from the last finders and had a successful find today..
Finally, after 3 years since last found and after a little help from CO on final GZ, we got this one, great camo, a fav point from us. TFTH

The amount of possibilities for the waypoint and the final coordinates nearly made us give up as we weren't sure if we're on the right track. EVINCE would have helped in this situation but me thinks Mr Hyde....I mean Mister Clyde enjoys the grovelling punters having to email him instead!? The help received was minimal, which is good and still feel like we solved 99.9% of it ourselves - the mental trauma is proof! I guess it deserves our vote of "most frustrating cache in Albany" and "glad it's over" award....and the "it's no wonder it hasn't been logged for 5 months" award. But hey, TFTC ps, geokid reminds me to mention that he found the final cache
Warning!!! Stick around this puzzle too long and you'll end up in the looney bin....or at least wanting to meet the evil mister clyde in a dark alley with tar and feathers. Mwah a arrr
Mr Clyde!!!
Where should I send the bill for my treatment!!!! This one has been a marathon for me......I had the first set of coordinates worked out the day it was put up, but alas I was short on time and didnt make the first WP until the following fortnight. And thats where the fun began!!! Do you think i could find it......NO!!!! And as i am not local it is always near dark when I get to look. So the weeks roll by and it plays with my head.....others find it......I still search. FINALLY I find the sneaky hide.....only to find it is a multi!! So with a little help from a friend, I get to sort the next stage. The final hide eludes me though until today........and its a doozey!! Well done for the camo.
I must go take my pills now.......until next time Mr Clyde.......TFTC

Finally, this has taken me a long time to track down, frustration plus. Mister Clyde must have one of those minds that thinks outside the box, way outside. I knew of this general area for the end cache, but again had to tackle it without a GPS. But thank you for the mental challenge Mister Clyde, again.
Solved part one of this a week ago and collected info for part 2 with team phlyer (nice to meet you) returned today to finish the job and was on the final, last look when vctory was had! Great final hide but sad to report it is suffering from some wear and tear. t.f.t.c had a lot of fun with this one!!
In the beginning came the number crunching.
I ended up at all sorts of places that actually had an object smack on my 'worked out' co-ord's where one could place a cache. A tree, flag pole, tree, another tree with barrier around it. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH.
Then just prior to ANZAC day it came to me from who knows where. One of 'those' moments. Had a look on Google Earth and it placed me 'in the zone'. Couldn’t be a fluke, could it?
This also brought reason to why there was a lone gentleman wearing a suit holding an umbrella and standing in a really unusual spot on a really crappy day with an "I'm not up to anything, really" look about him. Little was I to know then that I was to become that lone gentleman not wearing a suit (shorts, thongs and t-shirt is my usual caching uniform) standing in a really unusual spot on a few crappy days with an "I'm not up to anything, really" look about me.
Anyway, I was on my way to the next WP and had a goal to get it before ANZAC day. ANZAC day came and went and I was still without a find. Fast forward to a chance meet with the author himself at another cache and after delivering a quick poke in the eye my mind was put at ease, yes I was in the right spot.
Jumped on it on the way out but had to go shopping for Mothers Day. Returned and got the required data and once again after much searching was still coming up with nothing at the new WP.
Bumped into a “few” cachers in York Street yesterday and it was once again confirmed that I was in the right spot. Didn’t have time to revisit the battlefield after I knocked off work but did so today and was onto it like a seagull to a sick prawn. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh, relief.
Thanks for this one Mr Clyde.

We had to come back to this as the Christmas in May event was looming and we hadn't found what we were looking for. It was much easier on our return because we were reminded that we were looking for a WP. Found quickly on our return and proceded with working out the final co-ords.
Found the cache a short time later - great hide. TFTPuzzle and the hunt.

Once you work out these damm puzzles and then think if only we had done that or put the numbers this way, then it wouldn’t be too hard. After a few muddled attempts to work out some co-ords, this one was left on the too hard pile for some time. A welcome hint on how to put the numbers in place soon had the Coasters heading off and eventually spotting #1 waypoint, a well camouflaged the little bugger. First waypoint took a lot longer than the cache itself. GZ had to be expanded a bit, the male Coaster being lucky that he as he started to look further away from GZ, there it was right in front of him. Some days you get lucky!!!
A clever puzzle and nice camo job for the cache! Now for the next puzzle that already has us scratching our collective heads to come up with some fuzzy logic.

AAAARRRGGH! Messing with my head! I will get this before we depart Albany. Not much to go on here Mr Clyde but I like that! We will persevere!
Ok foundit. Attempted to seak confirmation of the coords before attempting the cache search but none received. It just made the find even more rewarding. Doing part of this cache on ANZAC weekend was special. Great job once again mr Clyde
Thanks
Thanks
When it comes to puzzles, the Geo wife rules. She had this sorted in no time. Finding the cache was a different story however, and our first attempt failed. After confirmation that we had indeed got the puzzle right we had a second go and made a quick find. It was only a matter of time before this pier was snapped up for a cache.
Amendment 25/04/10
After signing the "cache" we were informed by the owner that we had in fact signed the clue sheet at the second waypoint. Duh.
So off we went to work out the next stage. This however took us forever, and it wasn't until today that we found the real GZ. And a very fitting day to find it too, being Anzac day.

Lest we forget??? Highly unlikely. Finally made a breakthrough after all this time. Made an interesting discovery along the way. Was good to finaly make the grab only to have it refuse to open. Luckily cupcake was able to coax it open and find only one other name inside. STF !!!
Spotted Happy Wanderer 3 as we left. Advised her to follow owners guidelines re hide but to exercise a little latitude (or longitude) with final coords.
Thanks mister-clyde but my brain hurts too much now. Great concept

With more than a little bit of help from fellow geocachers ... First breakthrough came whilst hunting another cache 200km due west. Had a great chat with Qld geocachers who had been via Albany four weeks ago but ran out of time to locate waypoint one, so they gave me their creative work to date. That led me to the first waypoint, but alas no success. A few contacts later I had the item in my hot little hands only to be confronted with more work. Collected the next set of data and set it all out in neat tables. Whilst on the third dead end we bumped into Tangowithcupcake, who had just signed the log. Well they helped us solve the very last bit of vital detail. Even so, we were out till the light faded finding the cache. FINALLY it was located. The brain teaser complete. Thanks for the help on this one. I'm hopeless at these puzzles, but will never say die.
Mister Clyde you're messing with my mind! I was on the computor the moment that this cache was originally published. I printed it out and raced down and got the required info, a first to find in my grasp. For 3 days solid I worked the numbers trying every possible combination, adding, subtracting, dividing, looking at them standing on my head. I thought I was good with puzzles but I declared you'd beaten me on this one. Then I read that you had altered the description slightly to help out.
To my shock and horror another name had appeared that wasn't on my printed version of your original description. Where did Ayrshire come from??????
Once I got the additional number it took about a minute to work out the coords. The cache was relatively easy to find as the coords were spot on.
Thanks for another great Cache. I think I've learned a lesson but I'm not sure what it is?[B)]

The lack of activity has prompted me to edit the listing slightly.
Hope this helps some of you.
what i really want to say is that this is the easiest, lamest, busted arse cache i've ever done. but after wasting the last three days of my life trying to find the @#$%^! thing, i'd be lying. this was a clever piece of awesome caching devilry that deserves kudos for the work that has gone in to it and for the pure frustration it elicits. the final hide is a doozy. well done mr clyde - we look forward to being teased mercilessly in the future... oh yeah and - yay to us for a ftf!!!

Went there. wrote down the numbers of the boats. What do we do now? What does it all mean? [?]
