Together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3BC8B][red]'Dev46'[/navy][/url][/red] I was on a 'sightseeing-tour' through lovely [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green] Wink
During our great time we could see a lot of beautiful places and we also could find 'some' caches in the area...this was one them [:X]

Many thanks to all CO's for all these nice caches CoolBig Grin

Last summer the idea was born to visit [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green], together with [url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] Razz
After some important decisions regarding the beginning of our trip, the flights, the general route and the car were made, the most important question was still unanswered: which caches can we visit during our tour [?]
To get an answer for this topic I was fetching almost every cache from both islands Red Face[8)][:X]
[url=http://coord.info/PR3NXJG][red]'MimiNemo'[/red][/url] and I love [Teal]'Geo-Arts'[/Teal]...so we added all these cache series to our wish list Cool
After this decision was made this list was more than 300 puzzle caches long...unsolved puzzle caches Surprised
Two weeks before Christmas it was getting time to start solving all these mystery caches Wink
Even with the different language I could find almost every solution Cool
In the case I was not so successful I was contacting some of the CO's...and was always getting help from them...many thanks for this support [:X]

During the following weeks our cache list was growing and growing...meanwhile more than 1000 caches long...too long for a simple bookmark list from GC Sad
Time to get our route and caches in sync...time to save the PQ's to our Garmins...time to start this holiday:

Chapter 9: [red]Southland[/red] including [green]Invercargill[/green] and [navy]Bluff[/navy]
Exploring the southern part of [Green]'New Zealand'[/Green] was our mission of the day Wink
Driving around in the beautiful area we also stopped for some caches [:X]

This unknown cache was one of them Wink

I would like to thank all the cache owners for showing us these great places and maintaining all these caches,

We solved the equations in France. We had to do it! And we did. But there were plenty of fallen trees Sad.

Found while passing through from Glenorchy to Bluff. I need a puzzle cache owned by someone whose name begins with I for a challenge and so added this cache to my must do list. Unlike Sonia, I had to rely on some electronics. Bit being an engineer I had MATLAB available...... Great fun. Cheers for the cache!

Thanks to the CO for confirming that one of my answers was wrong. So with that information sorted the cache was soon at hand. Amazing that no one has been here for almost 10 months.
TFTC. PS the long grass was very wet got shoes n socks soaked.

Headed out to the snow today - with a bit of a detour through southland... hmmm... geocaching!!
This was the 23rd one we found today, of like 31 in the trip down.

Mum had asked me to solve his one before we left for our trip, so I did it at home in like 5 mins! - And barely used a calculator, bar for two which you really did need it for. (And I had good fun solving it! Razz ) - Well you'd hope I could do it! I work tutoring maths, and I've almost finished my degree in Stats! Razz

Haha, at the GZ then, we made the trip a bit more round than it had to be... But the cache was still in hand eventually-ish, and I grabbed it first! Smile

TFTC!! Smile

We both love maths. This cache was 13m beyond our calculated answer but we are unsure if it was our maths or the co-ordinates are a wee bit out.

We don't love math, but we managed to solve it ages ago, and only went in to get it today. TFTC Smile

An ex Maths teacher, I was pretty confidant that my co-ords were correct but on seeing where GZ was in person, my confidence soon faded. There did look like tracks in the long grass, which heartened us a little. After a great deal of searching, StreetWalker came up with the goods, phew!!! And only the second to find.
TFTC.

#1177 (23/24 on an Invercargill / Riverton loop). The GZ area looked unpromising, but after widening the search area bit I found the cache in plain view. TFTC.

Yay I got this one! CO confirmed last night that I had all but one digit that I couldn't work out. Used my common sense - and I woke up with a start this morning knowing exactly which one it was going to be, so I jumped in the car and managed to get the cache before work so it wouldn't dog me all day! And yay - was my first FTF!!!

I did statistics! Not fair!!!!

Mumble mumble.

I'll just make Cat do them. Razz
