Seeing as the Quicksilver pro is on @ Snapper Rocks , we felt it best to go in under the cover of darkness with the trusty Geo torch. No luck though . This is my favourite spot on the coast... so we will be back.
Searched and searched until my phone ran out of battery - could not find any sign of it. The clue "First Tree" is confusing as I am not sure from which direction to start counting.
After waiting for over half an hour for a couple of muggles to move, I finally can log this one as found. TFTC
Out for a Christmas cache with Geomum. She actually spotted this one before me. Lots of muggles around but with the amazing swell thanks to the tropical storm up north. was able to nip in, grab it and return it without being seen.
Knowing this is a popular spot decided to tackle it at night but hey, no street lights! So using the GPS as a torch surprisingly made a quick find.
#662 - Found in the rocks about 5m from the correct location. Stowed it in the correct place. TNLNSL TFTC
Had a good look around after finally getting a car park on Snapper Rocks Rd. I walked away empty handed. I'll try again another day! Great spot for a cache though!
Hopefully cache is still there, couldnt find it. Found a spot that looked like it may previously have veeb there. Can someone confirm?
Our 2nd hunt for this one and our 2nd dnf, great weather and good surf meant pleanty of muggles, but with 4 sets of eyes we couldn't come up with the goods.
We'll be back.
We'll be back.
Lots of people around, had to wait a while. Trackable was missing.

This cache was virtually in the open. A couple of leaves over it but it looked like rubbish. I tried to hide it a little more effectively. Probably needs a rock or something to put on top. Don't know how much longer the container will last though. It is cracked. First bag is OK but external bag is quite damaged.
ALSO an amazing fact... Midday on a beautiful Saturday in the NSW holidays and I managed to score a park in full shade just 20m from the cache!!!!

So pretty! Glad I managed to get a cache in before I returned to Sydney. Left travel bug I had held on to for too long. Will upload photos when I get back home.

Found at 12pm. A couple of senior muggles decided to join us on the hill. We searched as they setup for the day. A lovely outlook. The spikes bite, so be weary of these as well. Great hide in a high muggle area.

I learned to swim here when I was 5. I remember getting skinned knees from the rough concrete in the bottom of the kiddies pool. I also remember being reluctant to open my eyes underwater because of the salt in the sea water which fed the pools. I remember being somewhat scared of the two pools on the oceanside because I thought they were so-so deep but I remember the joy I felt the first time I jumped off the diving board into the big pool.
I also remember the mountains of seafoam that would cover Froggy's beach during the really rough weather that would accompany summer cyclones.
Speaking of Froggy (not Kermit - sorry)family legend says that two of my great-uncles, Harry and Frank Dorrough painted the first Froggy, although obviously he's been repainted many times since.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Oh and I found the cache.

I was working just down the road, so I ducked up to have a quick look for this cache. I searched a few places with no luck, then checked the hint. I couldn’t quite work it out on the little time I had, so decided to abandon my search and try again another day. Beautiful spot though - the weather and the swell were perfect!
Lots and lots of muggle around GZ but we still managed a bit of a fossick and then locate the cache. Signed log and returned with no dramas. TFTC
With no GPS with us this was tricky and with ALOT of muggles around we gave up. Enjoyed the place, saw a whale and loved the warm weather here. We are visitors to Australia so will attempt again on our next visit in the future.
First cache we have found in Queensland, albiet just a few meters across the border. Surf pretty quiet today. SL TFTC. cloudglider
Phew, and Phew! I am so glad to get this one 'off the books'. I've been here twice before and looked extensively both times and came up with nothing. Well, not nothing, but certainly not a cache. We came here today for a hopeful 'third time lucky' and Phew, we were. Gotcha today!! Almost as good, we were here with what seemed like hundreds of surfers and photographers, and even got a car park right close to the cache. How about that! Definitely was our lucky day. The surf was FANTASTIC today. The swells were coming through large and beautiful. We stayed for quite a while after finding the cache to watch fascinated as surfers showed their talents. Some even timing their water entry with the swells off the rocks. Again, I'm so glad we found the cache in it's new hiding place. I don't think I would have ever found it wherever it was before. Some trackables visited with us. Thanks for the cache kingys!
Lucky for us we came here on what must be one of the best days ever - stupendous surf break, gorgeous surfers (fit male bodies in their wetsuits), sunny day and glistening water. We stayed to watch the surfers and the massive waves crashing over the rocks and thought how lucky we are to live here while such sad things are happening elsewhere in the world (today is the Norway disasters). Took a while to work out which particular tree we should be looking for. This cache could do with a stronger container if anyone feels like bringing one. Fabulous fabulous location so this one gets a favourite from me. Also watch out for broken glass among the rocks here. Gotta love Gold Coast Caching.
Found by Geo-Daughter with a little help from Geo-Dad's instincts working for a change.
Enjoyable walk around the point on a great day, even better with a find. TFTC
Yeah! Found it and logged it while muggles were walking past everywhere without arousing any suspicion! Was pretty hard to find too.
Just dropped in to take TB FRANKE the Camel for a surf. He enjoyed the sand in his hooves!
Lots of muggles on this sunday morning, so difficult to to a good search. Whole hint didn't fit in the GPS, but I'm pretty sure we looked there and couldn't find. Shame about the rubbish lying around too, so far we've found the Gold Coast pretty tidy... Nice spot, cheers from NZ
Sat and reminisced, the time spent here as children holidaying each year in the area. One of my favourite spots. TFTC
Found second time around. Have to learn to get my hands dirty! TFTC. Beautiful spot
found at long last nice easy find with a little bit of rain thrown in for good measure

Great location and a good hide. Repackaged the cache, added a few things, without taking away from the "aged" outer look.

Muggles walking past but GZ is just that bit out of their way that they don’t notice. East find. The cache container looks like it has been stepped on with both parts split and broken. The exterior bag won’t seal but I didn’t have a suitable replacement. Luckily the log bag is OK and thee log dry.

What a beautiful spot but I couldn't find the cache. The area where I thought I was supposed to be (using the clue) was very spiky and there were people around. i couldn't look any further without attracting attention.
Beautiful weather today so too many muggles.
Had out grandson with us (school holidays) and had a great time all the same.
'Tis a beautiful spot, well worth a visit anyway.
We'll be back (after school holidays...)

Found quickly although the container is falling apart. Good spot to watch the surfers surf and the ocean water spash onto the rocks.

This took two attempts. On first arriving here there was two girls sitting just below it on the northern part of the path and a gaggle of young lads just a bit further on. Had a quick search but didn't like to look around much.
Returned about 10 minutes later and after waiting for a family to take photos started searching. Didn't take long at all but that camouflage is sharp.
Great spot, like the small rockpool and the frog.

Nice spot ! We think the cache-box needs to be repaired.

Couldn't get to this one yesterday becaused of all the muggles at the surfing tournament.....quick find today on a "lay day" with no one around. TFTC
Our second today that was out in the open on the ground. T earrings L marble (I think) TFTC
Easy find despite the surprising number of muggles at 6.30am on a Sunday! Loved the green frog too. A couple of waves broke up over the path soaking other walkers. Thanks very much kingys
As previously stated this one could use a little TLC. Found it while out walking with GeoWife. Very nice area. Surprisingly easy to avoid muggles despite the prominent location. TNLN. TFTC!
Found this one, looked like it had been muggled. Found log & put in zip lock bag & found some of the contents & put in cache. Cache badly damaged & will need replacing. Put it inside another zip lock back to protect in the meantime. Left an angel to watch over this cache. Beautiful spot to watch the surfers at sunset
This cache has been muggled. Have salvaged what we could but please replace cache as is broken. Have placed in zip lock bag to preserve till replaced. Great spot to visit
Unfortunately we were unable to locate our container. We repositioned cache in an easier to find and easier to return location. We hope everyone enjoys this great location again whilst out caching.

Unfortunately we too were unable to find our cache. Surprising since it's quite a large container. A shame. We will have this one replaced and online again soon.
Had a look in the late arvo but, like the others no luck either. With 3 sets of eyes we couldn't see it. A bit windy today

Aaarrrrggghhhh! This cache drives me nuts. Came before and spent a good 45 minutes looking and not coming up with the cache. Came today with a more positive attitude. GPS said we were 1 metre away. We searched and searched, widened the search area, got pricked by those darned thorny branches more than once and came up with only rubbish. Finally, after two of us searched for 20-30 minutes, I said, Just let me know when you've had enough and we'll go. We went a few minutes later. I guess I'll have to come back another day, but now I'm not looking forward to it.
Obviously - took nothing. Left some blood and sweat. Didn't get to sign the log today.

With "Aussie Liahona searched and searched. We had iPhones and GPS so were sure we were in right spot. Sat on rocks as per previous logs and looked in every crevice we could but found only bottles and rubbish. Tore our fingers on those spiky leaves. Will need a better hint to find this one I fear. Any offers out there?
We searched a really long time for this cache - we saw a lot of rocks, and a lot of rubbish, but unfortunately no cache.
would be nice if somebody would have a look after this cache, after so much not founds!!!!!!

No joy today. Too many rocks and leaf litter so we gave up after 15 minutes.
Till next time.
Till next time.
On holidays in QLD with Jeanette.
Initially parked the car at the top of the hill, but then decided to move it closer.
Jeanette went to get a photo of frog rock while I looked for the cache. There were a few muggles who passed by every so often, but sitting on the rocks allowed to easy looking between the cracks.
Found the cache after sitting on a few rocks and poking my hands in different holes.
Good to see a good size cache in such a public area.

The Pirates were in town for the marriage of one of my sailor mates of days gone by. We were waiting for the some friends to arrive at the Gold Coast Airport at lunchtime so we thought we would do a few caches while we were waiting. No joy here as there are way tooooooooooooooooooo people to conduct a proper search maybe next time
I spent a bit of time looking for this one (mostly in the wrong spot) and eventually tracked the cache. TFTC kingys
I won't complain about the rocks because most of the caches I have hidden involve rocks in one way or another. (or so someone pointed out to me the other day)
The container is a good size and would be able to fit some reasonable sized swaps.

Just dropped Groundspeak Lackey Geocoin to watch the local pro surfers in action. Great swell.
Going round and round under iPhone directions, finally found by geokid. Took car, left slinky. TFTC
Found it after a short search with kaituna05 during heavy rainfall. Definitely a nice spot - when the sun is shining.

I love the view from the top of Point Danger. The walk down to the GZ is lovely. We saw Kermit ~Ribbit Ribbit~
Took us a while to find the cache as my GPS decided to die when I got within about 15m.
TFTC was a lovely day out with the misses.

Struggled with this one today and had to give up after about 20 mins as everyone wanted lunch. Muggles everywhere today enjoying the weather and plenty of people swimming and surfing. We'll be back to try again.

Unexpected find after dropping off our son at the airport. Took a while as IPhone not that accurate but came up with the goods in the end. FTFC.
This was a pain to find... sooooo many things to look under for it, and the trees kill any chance of getting an accurate GPS reading close to the cache.
Scrambled around for a bit trying to locate this, almost ready to give up when one of the guys yelled out "found it"
I really wouldnt call it small TBH

Wasn't too bad to find!
I have to admint, I really hate this type of caches, where a container is hidden somewhere between the stones... This belongs somehow to the cache GCVP1Q, where we tried it three times to find it and searched for more than half an hour each time... We found all the ugly things, you really don't want to find between the stones on a beach... Luckily, it wasn't that bad here....

It would have been easier to find it with less garbage around. You have to pick up every container and check it. I was lucky: The third container that I touched was the right one.
Lovelly area. Did not find. Lots of rubbish around likley area. See we are the second to not find. May need to be checked.
Arrived at GZ to find most of the Gold Coast walking around, looking at the waves and surfers at 8:30am. While they all looked that way, I sat on the rocks and had myself a successful search for this cache [^]. Found the large container after an initially depressing start, but it's so big, you can't miss it for long. TN/LN/SL and slipped away before anyone seemed to notice.
That was an easy find today while caching in and around Coolangatta.
Thank you very much for the cache!

One of the best surfing spots in Australia. Not much swell action today though. Just a couple of sneaky 2 footers occassionally rolling through. Didn't stop the crowd though at this hotly contested spot. I'd rather a less quality wave without the risk of being run over or yelled at. Took a couple of minutes to find the cache but even then couldn't make out what the clue meant. Signed log and then sat and watched the waves before retiring to the car. Thanks for the cache.
Being in the area - I thought I would tackle this one. There was so many people about. So many in fact - no one noticed me clambering about. Located cache without too much problem. TFTC kingys
Found after about 5 minutes of searching. The cache is more of a regular size than small. Plenty of space for most swaps. TFTC
