Think this might have been muggled, area has had a lot of revamping and I'm afraid it may have for to the wayside. Hopefully it will be fixed.
Thought we'd have a good look for this, despite the previous DNF and the several months since the last find. We really liked the story so would have loved to have found it. But to no avail. Wozzle68 was with us and we searched high and low in a wide area around ground zero. There has been a lot of work in this area lately - a lot of pruning of trees and raking of ground, so it would be well worth a check from the CO.
GZ seemed to be in a clear area away from trees. I note previous logs mentioned the cache being exposed and 5 m away from GZ. The last successful log was last year and I worry it may have been muggled. I will write another note to the CO to check please. Had racing greyhounds myself once upon a time so I am happy to keep coming back to this spot to find the smiley. Go you good thing...
A quick run to the cache hide, found OK. Lots of ground works happening at this great sporty spot. TFTH

With the bike and all of my other belongings rescued from the now defunct geo-vehicle (and the family car upgraded to travel bug status), I had some time to kill before signing it over to the scrapyard. So what else to do but a spot of Geocaching.
Today's trip to the wreckers was shaping up to be excruciating, and I had to kill a bit more time before we could deal... Oh well, another brace of smileys coming up.
Plenty of hides to choose from... this was the closest, so another short walk just out of sight of the car put me in easy reach of another simple midweek grab.

Day number 23 of the 31 Days of Geocaching, and we are trying to stay on track to complete the challenge. Wet and drab morning, so changed our plans and headed to this one, hoping it would be relatively easy in the drizzly conditions. GPS took us about 5 metres from the cache, so after repositioning, we soon had the cache in our hands, a nice little hide. Cache was in plain view, so we ensured we covered it back up to prevent accidental spotting. Despite the conditions, cache was in good condition, all dry inside.
Thanks for the cache mobmoore.

Found while out with the 2 Wanderers today. A lovely place for dogs and their owners. An easy find. TFTC
A quick find. Saw some paws pop up over the fence line as we were searching - nearly gave us a heart attack! TFTC! Found with TasieDevil - TGR
Found with he assistance of my granddaughters this Good Friday morning. Overcast day had the GPS bouncing around so took a while to pinpoint GZ.
The GPS was jumping around a bit. Geokid found it. Thanks for bringing us here. Nice new club rooms.
Found it, me and my baby sister and her friend searched for it, was our first ever find
What a great spot to bring your furry geocacher. It was quiet around here today and after a quick search, spotted the telltale camo. There are two logs in the container, so plenty of room still to sign. Thanks for sharing.
Yay 15th cache for the day, where did the time go? Nice easy find as it was sitting out in the open. Re hid

Had a lovely morning walk and decided to find some local caches. The cache was completely out in the open so we replaced it with a bit of bark to cover it a little.
Had fun at this one especially as we suspect we were racing some other caches who went the long way!!! Thats why I cache with a local!!! TFTC
GPS co-ords spot on TFTC found by geokid Louey busy location soccer game in action as we were hunting around good hiding spot need a keen eye
Like the camo container. A game of soccer was taking place nearby but they took no notice of us. SL tftc
Quickly found....as a couple were running their Greyhound along the nearby area.
Thanks for the fun with this one.
Found as part of my 2 day caching run around and through the area. Thanks for showing me the area....and for a neat cache hide.

They were giving the rabbit a bit of a workout when we were here. Thanks for the cache.
On a cold wet morning, i rose early to grab some Ballarat caches. This was the first. Had two attempts at the approach due to construction. Once at GZ the cache was quickly found. TFTC
Can't believe, with 5 of us, we didn't find this the first time we looked. Today, alone, my GPS took me straight to it. SL TFTC
Earlier this year we had looked for this cache but without success. Today we returned and found it as soon as we got to GZ. We cannot understand why we missed it before. The cache and its contents were in good condition. TFTC mobmoore.
Nice quick find after a short walk from where we parked the car.
few muggles were playing soccer nearby, but they were not really interested in what we were up to!!

Found on our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Trailrunning and Quasar3671!
Quite a bit of sporting activity going on in the nearby facility, but enough of us to distract anyone from what we are really doing. Didnt spot Ruby today.
Enjoyed the hunt for the cache which was located after a brief search. Many thanks for bringing us here. TNLN SL. Cheers.

We pulled up here on the main road to find a game of soccer happening on the main field. We didn't let that deter us and made the 100mt + walk to make the find. Stood and watched a bit of the game after the find, surprised to the field is artificial, not something I had seen before.
TFTC, Cheers.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. Bit of an event going in the area but we still managed to find the cache and sign the log no probs. Thanks for the hide.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.
Nice quick find even with the muggle activity about. TFTC.

After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. A dog event was being held today. Thanks for cache #78.
Found at 5pm but the log is unusable, crumpled, black & mouldy. Replaced with strip from exercise book for present. SL TFTC
Found after work today, a relatively quick find but it was difficult to scratch my mark on the very wet and mouldy log sheet. I didn't have my cache bag with me so was unable to replace the log. Thanks mobmoore for the cache.
Was my first find. Took me about 10 min to get used to the map mode, so excited when I found it
My first find. Very exciting. Didn't leave messages as the paper was pulp and I came unprepared. Well done
in ballarat for two days.
how could we not do this one.
i took my daughter ruby, to help me with this one.
as we reach G.Z. i told her to start looking for a film cannister.
" whats that?" she said
"this". and showed her the cache.
yes it was that quick. thanks mobmoore.[:x]

Needs new log book paper mache only begins to desribe what we found, nice little hide none the less tftc
I'm guessing Ruby might be a dog going by the name but please forgive me if I'm wrong. Not sure if the cache was where it was supposed to be because I found it laying uncovered on the ground. Improved the hide slightly and onwards.
Thanks mobmoore

1st find of the day, and 3063rd total find at 10:47:00 AM.
Found quite easily. All the paper in the container is too wet to write on. There's lots of logs to this effect, any chance the owner could do some maintenance?
Added a small paper of our own in order to log the cache.
Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks mobmoore for the cache

There was a bit of activity at the far end of the soccer pitch, but we soon located the cache. As per the previous logs, the log is damp, but can still be signed. Thanks for the cache.
As per last three logs, this cache needs a bit of TLC, and perhaps a new waterproof container.
Finding the right access route was a challenge for Phetlern who took us out caching for the day. The log was wet but we could still write our names.TFTC Greetings from New Zealand.

Found on a most enjoyable day's caching around Ballarat with June & Francis of "Hello Mrs" (NZ).
Ruby would be running on a very heavy track today! We just managed to put our "money" on this one. Log is very wet and needs maintenance.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt mobmoore.

Went for a look for this one yesterday and my GPS had me standing in a spot that looks like there have been a lot of trees removed.
This one may need to be checked to see if it is still hidden.
