Logs
Camping in the area meant an afternoon caching run with Micaparamedic and Tiz13 taking some of the roads less traveled! A bumpy road up but before long there were great views and a quick cache find. Thanks for the fun and adventure.
I had not fully read previous logs and once at GZ realised the cache container has disintegrated. I had a smaller container and log which I have left but a larger container would be more useful. Thanks for the cache tigersden.
JTreeTrack2 was out and about with Mr Dromaniax and the company of our Muggle parents. They Thoroughly enjoyed the trip, the sites, the effort gone in to placing caches in fascinating areas and places. The caches that we came across were all in good condition and were signed and returned as found. Thankyou to all the effort that has gone into placing the cache. Sorry for the generic log, my logging has 7 months of unloved. Thanks again for placing this cache.
I was out and about with JTreeTrack2 and our parents, and this was day number two. We decided to take Mum and Dad away for a trip down memory lane, and while out and about, we were picking up some caches along the way.We spent two days travelling around the central North region of Victoria and had some fantastic weather. The log on this cache was really quite wet.Thank you, Team Megradel, for this Traditional cache.
Claiming the unloved on this cache.
PArked the Geo mobile at the bottom and tried to run the 900 meters up, but that was an epic fail..easy walk up. I bellowed a big kooeee when cache was found. Great views
Cache was enjoying a cold bath. The log book was saturated, but l managed to sign it. Can the next person bring a new zip lock bag and log.

Find #5180. Found @ 15:30 with The Good Lady Wife, skirrel, j-bean.
On a holiday getaway multi-day road trip with the family, traveling from Melbourne to Adelaide via Renmark and back to Melbourne.
Along the drive I've scheduled in some cache finds to tick off Sudoku squares in a Wherigo that I'm working on. This happens to be in B1. I'd solved this the night before leaving as it was the only one in that corner of square that we were going through. The road to GZ is definitely one for those with high clearance, and TGLW decided that after driving up, she was not going to drive back down again - so it was time to swap drivers again.
When at GZ we searched for quite a while before I eventually made the find. The lit is cracked and the cache full of water, but despite the log being saturated, I was able to make my mark.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache tigersden

Many thanks tigersden for providing and maintaining this game piece for our enjoyment.
Unfortunately the container lid is broken and the contents was in about an inch of water. We have emptied it out cleaned it out, then dried it out a little but it will still need some maintenance.

I’ve had this puzzle solved literally for years but it’s never been convenient to come up, we had time today, I found the world biggest snakeskin (massive scales) in seconds, but no cache after 10 minutes of looking. Thanks anyway
Looking at heading up this way only to be told "we've found those, they are probably more that you haven't logged". As it turns out, that is exactly what has happened. I was caching with Papi4506, OzHockeyChick and RoamingHowie who have thankfully mentioned me in their logs so I know I was present at this find and on this day. Thank you for the cache and huge apologies for not doing it earlier.
Could have been a stunning view from here if the fog wasn't hanging around. We all drove to the top which was great as it was freezing. Thanks for the cache.
Out on a caching/camping adventure with OzHockeyChick, Papi4506 & GeoTurtle37. Currently road tripping on the way to Mildura. A fun drive up to the top of this one given the fog descending over the area. Thanks for the hide

On a camping road trip to the Mildura region with Papi4506, Geoturtle37 & RoamingHowie, the main target - the new Paddle Steamer series.
I was pleased with Sebastian for making it to the top of this hill. I’m not sure about the 360° views. The fog this morning was obstructing all views.

Found as part of our trip to the St Arnaud Mega event with e.gregory1 and gridge98. We travelled a long and circuitous route via Bordertown, Nhil and Warracknabeal to find caches in 5 additional Victorian LGAs that I had yet to visit (namely Buloke, Loddon, [Greater Bendigo - I’d previously visited], Mt Alexander, Hepburn and Central Goldfields). Thanks for the cache tigersden!
Found during a trip to St Arnaud to attend the Mega event.
FeatherWaite, gridge98 and I left Adelaide on the Thursday, taking a circuitous, but scenic route to St Arnaud to pick up a few caches in some other Victorian LGAs. We met up with Freddo and Davidwazza at the event that evening and teamed up to complete a couple more caches that night together before camping out of town.
Over the next three days we cached very solidly in and around St Arnaud, finding a diverse range of Traditional, Multi, Unknown, Virtual, Letterbox, Wherigo and Earthcaches as well as attending all the events associated with the Mega. We also managed to complete all the Lab caches over the weekend. Logbooks were signed D.E.F.F.98 (Davidwazza, e.gregory1, FeatherWaite, Freddo and gridge98).
On the Sunday afternoon, after the final GIFF event, FeatherWaite and I began making our way back to Adelaide, picking up a couple of caches before camping in the Little Desert NP. The following day we continued towards home with a side visit to Mount Rescue to pick up a few caches along the tracks there.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches. They included a huge variety of containers, hides and puzzles, many of which were very clever and/or amusing and had obviously taken considerable time and effort to construct. Thanks also to all those who organised the Mega and the associated events. I’ll be looking forward to the Mega at Millicent in South Australia next Easter!

Stayed at St Arnaud for Mega week and enjoyed with different caches Found your cache today. tigersden, thank you so much for placing it.
We have had this 'to do' list for such a long time, no good excuse as to why we have not done it. We just always seem to skirt around this cache, today we made the point of heading up the hill to check out the views and find the cache.
The cache container was damaged so we replaced it with a decor container. It was so restful here , even with the wind, that we choose to have our lunch here. SL TFTC

We drove to GZ and made a quick find. A favourite point for the fantastic views. Thanks for bringing us up here tigersden.
Having solved this one about a year ago i was never able to actually get to it till today the 22nd of April 2019.
Made my way to the solved co-ords by car.... well half way anyway not being a 4wd and all. I left the Geo-Mobile near the bottom of the hill and made my way on foot to the hide
I located the hide quickly in the 1st place i looked.... ya gotta be a fan of that

Finally... i have made my way to a quick find of this solved but not found Mystery Cache...... my only one for the day

Day 3 of my trip from Adelaide to Tasmania.
I am currently on a 5 day road (caching) trip from Adelaide to Melbourne exploring the outer most towns, On my trip I am going through Renmark, Mildura, St Arnaud, Ballarat then to Melbourne. Along the way to explore more I am caching.
Today was about collecting a lot around this area of st Arnaud and finishing of the ones I hadn’t found

A tour around the countryside in the car, with Geodog Penny on board to grab caches along the way so we can earn points for 'Planetary Pursuit'.
We got as far as we could in the car then it was on foot which Geodog Penny enjoyed, another walk on her day out. Cache located, admired the views, took some photo's and back to the car we walked.

I did this puzzle before I left and as the rain has stopped this morning I made a made dash to the coords I had worked out.
It was a little bit slippery due to all of the rain but I made it to GZ.
Searched for a few minutes and soon located the cache.

A cache targeted both for a mystery month challenge as well as an LGA. Although this was the quickest of the various closest caches in Buloke LGA it compensated by testing out my humble XV for the last 200m. That sure is some overgrown grass in the middle of the track!
This was a true team effort; I had done most of the solving as a newbie puzzler, n0w0rries had finished it off and obtained the final co-ords and SteMicMitSar did the finding.

While at the event in Wedderburn there was some talk about getting this one to collect another LGA,
so I went along for the ride with Leafotwind and n0w0rries.
As the other had done the heavy lifting on the puzzle, it only seemed fair that I would help out by finding the cache, which I did.

Found it. Drove part way up then walked the rest with Geo dog Nipper. Very pleasant view up there. TFTC Tigersden.
After a full afternoon of caching in and around Mt Gowar we were now headed back to Wedderburn to attend the evening Event. Having lost 2 cars from our convoy we decided to stop for this pre solved puzzle as we were passing by. As it turned out, it was an excellent decision as we watched the sun set while signing the log.
Thanks tigersden for the hide and bringing us up here to admire the view.

So after loosing most of our caching teams on the way back to Wedderburn, we decided we needed just 1 more before tea and as we had solved this one previously, and it was on the way back, we were just driving past, we though OH WELL why not, it doesn't matter if we are another 15 minutes later. We are already late.

The Convoy now only consisting of The Empire, The Tritonz, TR! and yours truly, we decided to take a detour up Howells Hill to look for this, given we'd all come up with the same co-ords. The sun was setting here now, and it was beginning to get rather icy cold at this height, thankfully the cache gave itself up quickly, and we headed back to the car, onwards to the Evening meal event in Wedderburn. Thanks to Tigersden for the puzzle and the hide.
Our first puzzle cache and we didn't even complete the puzzle! Oops! Geokids declared that this cache had awesome swaps. Thanks for taking us here. We drive past all the time, but have never ventured off the highway.
Travelling around Australia with our Cat.
Staying a few days in St Arnaud today we decided to head out towards Donald and surrounds.
We had a great day which included seeing lot's of historic sites and 3 very scenic hilltop caches.
We saw this puzzle on the map last night, and were going to give it a miss until we saw what it was. So 10minutes later we had a solution. Yay. the best sort of puzzle. Today it was a quick find once at this great spot.
We were really busy trying to take photo's here of the sun peaking through the clouds.
Thanks for placing your cache to add to our exploration of this area tigersden

TFTC awesome views great cache good challenge. found on our day trip to Wedderburn to visit a relative... Loved the hill climb.
We headed off yesterday with a plan to head TOWARDS Horsham, but as our trips are generally slow (based on how many smilies we collect on the way) we made it to Charlton after dark, so this was our stop for the night. Stayed in a local establishment, grabbed some breaky at the truck stop, & off to collect the local caches.
Solved this puzzle last evening, which was a challenge in itself as I wrote it out by hand. Clearly my solution was incorrect, because it didn't even put us on Howells Hill. Changed coords slightly to have a point on the hill. Reamining skeptical of this solution we decided to head for the views and use our cache sense. Split up and headed to likely hides. Greg came up with the goods. Signed log & took in the views. TFTF SL

Was travelling past when GeoW said she thought that Howells hill needed Maintenance, So with a quick change of direction we made the detour to the top of the hill, the kids had a run and we checked on the cache, all is good to go
Nice day for it, worked out puzzle yesterday with our 8 year old daughter and came back today for g z. Made swap took pirate coin left butterfly eraser, tftc.
We found this cache today at 2:00pm as the 6th of 10 on our Renmark to Melbourne New Year's Day Run. This cache had been taunting me since it's inception. Having the final co-ordinates very early in it's life, it pinged at me every time that we passed up and down the Calder Highway but we could never spare the time to stop. Today though, it was the one I was determined to get. We drove to the track that turned up the hill but the bumps would have bottomed out our car so we parked there and walked the 800m odd up the hill. Everything we expected once at the top. Fantastic views. Thanks from D, HA, H and A B-A.
This was a nice little puzzle cache that I solved while watching Turtle Man the other night. Come the next day and it was all 'live action'. A great elevated view of the countryside. Thanks for this great little spot Tigersden.

Being a nice day I decided to head out on the motorbike and find a couple of caches. After a slight detour to one cache I was then on the way to a cache I have on my "to get list" for quite a while.
Not having a 4X4 meant it was going to be a motorbike ride for me.
Oh and the tree has now been moved off the road. so access to the top is open again.
The view from up here is amazing.
thanks for another great Lookout Cache location tigersden

We needed to drop something off at Jeffcott so we were able to schedule in a couple of caches along the way. Pretty windy up here today so we were happy for a quick park and grab. TFTC
A quick find @ 12:00. After reading a few logs I wasn't too sure about the access with my low clearance 2WD, but gave it a try anyway. Just be very wary of the second drain, it caught me out - both ways! The other challenge was a large tree across the track about 300 metres from GZ - but getting around it caused no problems. The views at GZ certainly made the effort all worthwhile.
My thanks to tigersden for bringing me here and for the cache. TNLN

Thanks for this cache, Mrs Yullaba has her confidence back to solve puzzle caches. What a great view, there was atree across the track part way up the hill, making it not suitable for a small car
The first day of our current excursion from Tassie to Brisbane via the Mallee, Murray Bridge, central NSW, Canberra and back to Melbourne. We had solved this puzzle before leaving home. When we arrived near GZ today we decided that the track was not suitable for our low clearance 2WD. So we set off on "shank's pony" and after about 10 minutes, got to the top of the hill where a quick find was made. The views in the mid to late afternoon sun were very enjoyable. Thanks for an interesting puzzle and for the cache tigersden.
Easily solved, and a nice, if a little bumpy, diversion from our route to Mildura for the evening. Nice views. Cheers Gav [11231]
Found when doing the Calder series. I used to work in the town to the West. We had a two way radio tower on this hill so used to visit it regularly. Track fine for 2WD with care as has been graded. Also observed two wedge tailed eagles having some fun in the sun. TNLN. TFTC. Good views on a bright sunny day.
Good test for us, as were new to this, however we were looking for a container and could not find it

What a view, and a long search for me! Finally found it TNLNSL TFTC. Grew up in Charlton and have see the quarry consume the next hill slowly over time. Well worth making the ascent which is rather washed out in places and very stony, loved it though
Did this cache on a casual visit up to Charlton. Great views all round, and the wildflowers are just beautiful after the Winter rains. Cachehounds had a nice walk around, too. Thanks Tigersden for the cache.
Track was an eyeopener for an old grandma so as soon as I could turn around I stopped. Height was OK, all that hit underneath was the daisies.
It was the sharp rocks that scared me. Not a good place to get a flat. Kids thought I was a wimp
Walked the rest of the way but didn't find it. Not going back for this one.

With an insufficient reason to head over to Stawell for a work commitment I had to find another reason to add on and make the trip worthwhile. Caching was the obvious addition even though the weather was shocking - very windy and quite cold and wet.
The trip was a bit of an indirect route via a few towns not visited before so a good chance to see what's 'out west'.
Solved the puzzle at home then left without the solution. Had to park near GZ and resolve it
With the rain blowing horizontal I made my way to GZ for an extremely quick cache retrieval then back to the protection of the car.

A top hill. I knew a Prof Howell at Flinders University once. I still do. History was his speciality. Climbing hills perhaps not. It is not his hill. Is it a relly of his? He could look it up.
Clear skies from TeamAstro.
I'm not good at puzzles but knew I had to persist to find my way.
It was well worth it with a great view of my old home town that I hadn't seen before.
Thanks again tigersden a great cache.

Doing homework this lunch time... enjoyed myself - another excellent view from GZ so beauty. No swap. SL. Thanks tigersden got organising the cache and hunt.
Cracker Girl really enjoys word searches so was happy to obtain the coords for us and having an extended weekend after attending the Bendigo events this was a must do. We are glad that we did, the views from here were fantastic but for some reason or another we made the search a lot harder than it needed to be. After searching where the GPSr said we should be and coming up empty handed we expanded the search a bit and then quite a bit and were about to call it a DNF when we decided to have one more look where we had already looked and this time the cache was located in the first place we had looked. We don't know how we missed it first time round
Thanks tigersden for the puzzle, the views and the cache

This puzzle was a fun twist on an old favourite. In keeping with my paperless principles I solved it using Paintshop and coloured out the words. The views from GZ were pretty spectacular and I managed to find the cache without too much trouble.
Many thanks for showing me this beautiful area today.

Found by Roma and Max in the company of our good friend Brian of The Old Blokes.
We made a very scenic approach to your cache today after we missed the initial entry point and encircled the Mt as we climbed towards our calculated GZ.
We do enjoy these puzzles of yours and reiterate what Brian has said in his log.
We left our mark in the log and made no exchange although we did take away memories of the surrounding countryside seen as never before.
Thank you tigersden.

Found on a beautifull day with Romax, who I must thank for a pleasant day, with lunch provided.
Not a difficult find, thanks to Roma, and a nice puzzle.
You must have the patience of Job, when composing such a puzzle.
Thanks Tigersden. Swapped a gold Winner's award for a dinosaur.
