Well I don't know where this has been for the last nearly ten years but I found it sitting in the mud as in the first photo. I took photos of every page and have searched the finders and everything identifies it as this cache. There is another cache within reach of this one which is what I was looking for - if I had of read the hint on the other one I would not have been searching where I found this one.
We use to chase archived caches when they were a thing on project g-c but since that statistic was removed we have not bothered so much. But if I happen to find one (such as this fluke today) then I still log them.
This is a very cool place - so pleased to have come and had a bit or an explore around.

Alas, no frog nor log but enjoyed the walk with Dopeyr especially as the rain had stopped! Zekeasaurus had us playing Ninja Turtles and rescuing babies from Shredder on the way back so was rather eventful even without a find and the archway made for some nice photos
Even although Mrs W.E.K.A. crawled right into a very large hole looking, we failed to find any of the guardian, log or letterbox today We had taken a spare container to put the logbook in, but as we didn’t find it, were unable to do so.
Pressume we found this one as there wad a wet log under the frog. Guessing that is all that is left? TFTC
I found a big animal sitting in the tree... But their is no cach. I also didn't found the alternative cach... Sorry!
Hmm... based on only the most recent logs (all I had offline), I assumed that this had gone missing and the letterbox was being mistaken for the cache.
So I brought along a new 1l container and placed it with the letterbox, near the preferred habitat of the rare Pororari Tree Frog.
So, Moneydork, if I erred, note it here and the next finder can score a nice Lock'n'Lock for their next cache!

Discovered this lovely track and found the cute guardian. As noted by other cachers, the log sheets are soaked. We were able to sign it, but the writing is faint. This cache difinitely needs some TLC. Continued on our trek after signing. Thx. Visiting from Arizona, USA.
Easy find today, everyone who walked the track could see it. Unable to sign log due to sodden state, needs drying out or replacing with a dry one, we had no dry paper sorry. TFTC.
One of our favourite pieces of NZ, The banks of the river were dotted with whitebaiters patiently waiting for a feed. Located the cache in a very obvious spot. Was muggled by a whitebaiter who had is gear secreted close by. He knew what we were up to and had taken on the the role of guardian of the cache.
Although this cache was in a very sorry state, we were able to sign the log (only just).

Couldn't find this one today, the container that is sitting there wet/damaged etc is a letterboxing one I think.
A DNF, found what looked like the remains of a cache,a lid and some suspicious items, but it may be still there, will return with the right equipment for a better look. Great valley for a walk, will be back.
found it while walking the beautiful walkway...well better to say Mrs. C found it, JoshThePirate and I didn't know there was a cache and we had no GPS with us Logbook was to wet to sign, so we mad some pictures. thanks for showing this nice place [^]

While a nice walk at the river we found this cache without gps!
The cache is too wet, so we can't write a log.

Interesting place to find a cache. The cache is not water tight so cache is now a bit wet. Unable to logg visit while there
Really nice location and cache layout. Really nice river track. In: TB TFTC #177
Quick find, thought the first one was wet and could not write in the book. But on looking closer found the correct one. Nice walk from the Camp.TFTC
First found the letterbox with its totally soaked log book but a further search uncovered the cache. Nearly lost the cache on returning to its hidey-hole but a rescue effort by middle Mintie5 returned it to where we found it. TFTC
What a cool cache, though maybe it's too obvious. A very quick find. No mention of letterbox with it in description. TFTC
Beatiful finish after my run from fox creek. I like hides like this one. tftc, julmat
Found this funny box on my walk today. Great area. In : TB. TFTC. Sherlock Hood.
To be honest, we saw some cachers, logging this cache. Thanks to the french family!

Great wee cache - and the frog is still protecting it. Nice walk on the only fine day for that week. TFTC
Came here twice and found the cache on both occasions. The first time I was wearing clean clothes and it had rained massively, so that I was unable to retrieve the cache which had slipped very far down without getting very dirty.
I had timed my walk so that I would return after sunset and on the way back I actually got to see some open air glowworms in action (and some other wildlife).
On the next day the situation was better, and actually I found a nice stick so I was able to retrieve the cache und put it back into the "statue" were it supposedly belongs.
Thanks for the cache!

A lovely walk today, well timed in the non-rainy part of the weekend. We were happy to see a familiar pal guarding this cache, which is in good condition - all fine & dry. Proceeded on up the track to check out the next cache, but discovered it was not at all the right weather for it today. So carried on a bit further to admire this scenic area.

Found it and laughed! We love this walk along the river and the cache was the excuse to get the youngsters moving. TFTC.
Very cool hide! Didn't find the letterbox as we didn't know where to look. TFTC.
This was a very nice walkway through the rainforest today and a nice hide as well although it was a bit far "inside". Surprise, surprise... TFTC!
Found with a short search between showers of rain. A nice area. Couldn't do much about wet log as started to rain.
Cache too wet to write in, but a beautiful spot. The river is down today, but the mud and debris shows how high it gets!
A good one, missed on first pass. Surprised to see the GZ site so wet and muddy. TFTC
Possible to find this one even without GPS as the tille nicely gives away the location. However, as beautiful as the scenic walkway is, the Cache needs some maintenance, as the log is soaking wet.

Great choice for a milestone find; this area is simply breathtaking. Cache found by Jr 7. Seal broken and cache literally full of water. According to the guy fixing the track the river was running about 2 m above the cache a few days ago. This is probably going to need some TLC. Thanks for this one, top cache.
We're on a trip around the world, now for 7 lovely weeks in Nz. Today we travelled from Abel Tasman Park to Punakaiki. Found this cache after a very nice walk. Thanks for the cache! We loved the rivergorge here.
I traveled through New Zealand and found the cache.
Nice place. Good hiding. TFTC

Nice walk along the river, a number of other walking the track or fishing. Some damage around the tree where people have looked. TFTC
1530hrs What a neat walk. Found the letterbox as well. 'Ribbet' The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
We added a note to the front page of the cache book as there is a letterbox hidden within 5m of the cache but no cacher seems to have found.
Wow. What a cool place. We need to come back here again. This time we had to head back to return the rental car! BTW nice camo!
Easy one on a great and relaxing walk along the river. Hope no muggle will find it. Thanks!!!
Ribbit! Found it! . Interesting local wildlife and the stone cliffs are amazing.

Tried finding this one at night. Lovely walk. And the end location is pretty unique.
No luck for me, had cache owner with me, it's not were he placed it, think we know were it is, but no light source with us.

Really enjoyed the stroll to this one. Not to sure of where our hands have to go thou. will be back to do "the wekas waterhole" next trip, as out of time this trip.
Walked right past it too busy enjoying the scenery.
Easy find, candle power was handy. TFTC

Of course it had to rain the weekend we picked to go to Westport [:(!] The walkway got the feet a bit wet and I REALLY didnt want to put my hand where I needed to but I sucked it up and did what I needed to retrieve the cache. TFTC
Nice walk, glad I had my torch as it made the find a bit quicker. Decided to pass on the dip at Weka's, maybe next summer. TFTC.
Found this one with Kiwi Explorer. Once I pointed out where I thought it was he illuminated the subject and retrieved the cache. TFTC, Biggles.
Correcting the failure of the last attempt. Shed some light on the subject and had a 30 second find this time. Luck of the draw how easy the last persons rehiding makes it. TFTC.
Lovely walk late morning. Found with the help of the tiny flash light on my key ring. Started to drizzle returning to the car and everything fogged up as I headed to the next cache. TFTC
Found on 22/03/10 on our way south with the Winnebago Motorhome Wild West Safari. Couldn't believe we have walked this walk many times and not registered this archway. A clever hide. Weather not good so had the place to ourselves.
Very pleasant walk with Mrs BaldEd to GZ on a nice day. Cache was found to be clearly visible to anyone walking the track. We were double entertained during the logbook signing. First by the local curious weka who was just not happy until he/she had had a peck at the brightly coloured cache container. Secondly, by the 2 Australians kayaking the adjacent shallow rapid. After getting out and pulling their kayaks to above the rapid, one then gave the Aussie version of an Eskimo roll (without the Eskimo success) as he attempted to sit back in the kayak. Hillarious. We clapped and cheered. Re-hid the cache with some natural material in front of it. Thanks for the cache.
Before going into the Inland Pack Track and getting really wet feet, we checked out this cache as well. Beautiful place!!!

Our second find for the day. An easy find on a lovely walking track. We didn't even need to refer to our paperwork to find this one as GPS was accurate. However, do watch for muggles on the track.
Cool track. Lots of people walking and kayaking here today. FTF for the cache, and was easily spotted. TFTC Cheers
