As there's been no cache to find for some time, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

We too probably repeated the actions of previous searchers and headed straight to what we assumed was the target despite finding the thing, but choosing not to use it. After no success I tried again and directed mrs capperz to the place and she affirmed she was in the right spot. A good idea for a cache and my 6th today on this little peninsula.

The day after the main event and seems I still haven't had my fill of caches, especially in a relatively cache-rich area. I was up with the birds at first light, pretty much, and out the door nice and early to try and find Marahau Footbridge, Open Seacret and make the most of a low level of water to check out split apple rock and Marahau Marble ECs. Headed back over the hill the slow way, stopping for coffee, Cornish pasties, real fruit Ice cream and a few Multis and Unknown caches where I had already gathered the final co-ordinates. Managed to get another couple of sets of numbers for future Multi- cache targets too.
Back home after a reasonable drive back and another nice round figure of finds, 20 for the day to add to 20 yesterday and 10 on Thursday so a rounded 50 for the 3 days, I like that.
This weekend is a four day weekend for us, Thursday and Friday on leave as we're going away for a couple of nights to Marahau for mrs capperz's birthday, walk the first part of the Abel Tasman walkway and visit out fellow quiz-team cohorts in their new house. The weather all week had been interesting and yesterday brought on torrential rain and storms for many regions, which continued through the night. The forecast was for clearing conditions and a great day for Friday, which fitted in with our walking plans. On Saturday we visited the split apple rock, marble quarry and came back via Riwaka resurgence, Ruby Bay and 'some' caches - of course.

Had already left for work before I found out we had a late start. Plenty of time to skip over here for a look at the water and find a couple of caches. Had the place to myself this morning, so didn't feel silly using device or wandering to final location.
Clever cache, thanks very much!
Clever cache, thanks very much!
This was a bit different but fun for the grandchildren have to give it a favourite . TFTC.
Our aim was to head toward the earthcache further on and collect anything on the way. In the end we gave the EC a miss as the weather was not good, so we popped in to have a look at this. Took a few minutes to work out what the tool was, but we had a hunch it would be something similar to this. Jo volunteered to go for the walk while I directed, but in the end she didn't need much help from me. Another FP for a good concept. TFTC OF.
Today is Go-Find-A-Souvenir day! But rather than head to either of the available earth caches in Blenheim, TaybeeDragon and I decided to to visit the great green fields of Nelson and Takaka and turn a small patch of it yellow. We have found our earth cache, now are over here on the hunt for another. Just for the heck of it.
I have been here before, and totally missed what was required. This time it took a few minutes (mostly spent looking at those white rocks over there) before we worked out what was required. Having two people made it easy. The dragon went walking while I guided her position. Or would have if she was actually watching. But she found the cache anyway. Well done, TBD! And a great cache, OrangeFlame. + Fav.

Its Souvenir Hunt Earth Cache Day- Road trip to Takaka via St Arnaud! Hey What! Lets Go. Got one Earth cache in the bag - so lets try for two.
White rocks got us puzzled but the Seagnoid sorted what the funny thing was for then it was a short walk and easy find. If its been raining you may want to go around not through the bog. OK found the white rocks now. Cheers

Paddle Chick and I had been to this cache some other time with know luck ,today had a better look around .A very clever cache which deserves a favorite .Thanks for the cache. Orange Flame
Stopped here early in my caching days and didn't understand what I had to do. Today we found something that had to be a tool, then the penny dropped as to how to use it. Clever cache

Always read the instructions! Don't be smart and think you can bypass use of the tool!
I did just that and spent many more minutes than I needed to looking in all the wrong places, but once I followed the instructions, the find was quite quick! Doh!
A good hide concept. Nice one. Thanks

A little bit different for abit of fun. The season is perfect for this cache as there is a certain tree that was the perfect colour to indicate where to go. May have been abit harder if not for that tree. The cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache
A brilliant cache which gets a favourite from us. After an initial false start, we found what we needed, and headed to the cache which was a quick easy find. TFTC
This is a lesson on reading the cache page properly . We saw the reference to white rock so headed for the nearest ones. When they yielded nothing, decided to read the description more carefully and spend time at the published co-ords. That's where I spotted something interesting and had soon guided StreetWalker to GZ.
Left TB. Thanks for the nicely set up multi in a lovely reserve.

#8668. Something a bit different (though not entirely new to us). Took us a while to understand what we had to do, but once Troodles worked it out the cache was quickly found. TFTC.
For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We started our adventures today kayaking, but decided to find another ‘few’ as at this stage we still did not know that the Bulk Finding Challenge has been archived…
This one was so much fun, great idea!!!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Awesome idea. And found the cache right as we expected!

The device worked a treat, cache found.
Nice one.
Thanks Orange Flame for showing us this wee park , and the cache.

I loved this little multi. At first we were searching in the wrong level and the GPS gave us a problem. We moved and then we spotted the device quickly and headed to GZ. A quick find and thanks for this nice cache.

Quick park and grab with woffojnr. Had to think about the directions but ended up being a easy and kid friendly grab. Thanks OF.

Alas, could not even find the first set of coords, either at the page coordinates, or at the white rocks over by the tanks.
Found it, awesome cache to do with the kids, sent them all over the place, then to the right spot just for fun.
Took a bit of time to locate the device in the rain, then rushed off across the swamp without double checking that we knew what we were doing. Then when we split the workload and the cache was in hand in a flash.

We arrived at the given co-ords at the same time as a neighbourhood chat was about to take place just above the area. We found the device immediately but were somewhat distracted by the possibility of being muggled so it took longer than it should to "get it". Eventually we made it to GZ and signed the log. TFTC.
Found all the necessities but were dumbfounded. To be muggled for a prolonged period of time didn't help. Suddenly the penny dropped. Signing the log became just a formality after that. A new concept, much enjoyed and a fav. TFTC
The device was not what I anticipated but Kitty! soon found it, she then wandered off whilst I shouted at her where to go. Great fun, TFTC
Out 'doing' the area. Over for the event tomorrow and camping in the area. Really liked this concept - a bit different. A special one for us today. TFTC.
#580, 14:30, found in nice sunny day together with Zivaa. I like this type of caches - at home you don´t understand, but at GZ it´s easy. TFTC
Nice little device, I might have to copy this idea when home for a mega task multi we are planning in the UK.
Grabbing a few caches in the area while passing through on our 'how ever long it takes' NZ tour.
Thanks for setting this up.

"Find a white rock"? That's the description? I still wonder why but it worked. We found it. Well done.
A nice quick find. The grounds were very wet today. Lucky we had our gummys on =)
Took TB and left geo coins. Thanks for the great cache

On my trip around the world I first visited the States, travelled from there to Australia and continued my trip in New Zealand.
Terra Fox joined me and we made a four-week-tour in NZ driving from north to the south and back again.
Geocaching can take you to spots you would never visit and so I used my trip to find some caches in every state and country.
Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germany

A great multi, we enjoyed spying the cache from afar before zeroing in for the find. Thanks.
Great to finally grab one of my mates hides. Something clever too...might use this closer to home. TFTC Cheers!
I saw and went straight to the final when we pulled up. When I was about two-thirds across the field Moneydork confirmed that I was going the right way using the intended tool. Very quick find Cheers Gav [6946]
Arrived at this cache and had not looked at the cache page. It soon seemed obvious what we had to do and cache soon in hand. Nice one.
found on 011010 at 101001 well so I thought until I got home and realised it was the 021010. Darn. Great cache wat fun! Park is almost as boggy as last time I was here. TY.
Staying in Marahau drove car to carpark near here. Didnt take long for kids to find this one. Not sure if i would classify it as a multi cache though. Took TB Ernie hope to relocate him in Canterbury.
After a lunch break in Motueka at the Red Beret cafe – delicious food there btw – we headed out of town to carry on our day’s caching. We have encountered a gadget similar to this before so we understood the basic principle, which is just as well as it was far too wet to make full use of it. PB made the soggy walk while Annie supervised from a distance. TNLN TFTC
Caching with Sidewaze and Sibelli7 - after a bit of a slosh around and the combined brain power of 4, Sidewaze lead us to it...as had others logged, it wasn't until finding the cache that we figured out the "device". TFTC
Not working out what the device was at first I applied womens logic and strolled around and found it took nothing left nothing - wandered back hopped in car and bingo spotted the device lol thanks for the cache
Have gone past this one before and didnt stop now it was time to return and finalize this cache! While i played round with GPS my good lady did this one by legwork and the cache was found . After she found the cache i spooted the device All too late for some though!!!
4316 What an innovative cache concept, no problems locating the cache, many thanks.
Two camper vans parked nearby, but they must have had their heads down. Found white rock okay and the rest was easy. A nice sheltered spot and a very hot day. TFTC
Took a minute to click then a quick recovery. Nice day to do the loop drive and pick up your two new caches. TNLN TFTC
Found on the way to the beach. Lovely area, and a fun little multi. Many thanks!
Had some breakfast eating campers at wp1 - we then spotted the device and moved over to gz.
Nice cache - something different.

I found a lot of caches with my Dad - Biggles - and never logged these online. Now I've got my own account, its time to set things straight. Thanks for all the fun, Flying Phoenix.
Out for a drive with Lil' Stu and his 3 Riwaka cousins. Nice idea, quick find in bright sunshine today. TFTC, Biggles.
Nice One!!!!!!!! Fourth cache today that was just behind Rangi. The big difference with this one is that it is a couple of weeks later. Good place to stop on the trip over the hill and avoid the masses at either end. Clever "device". Dropped off TB. Thanks

Called by on our way over to Golden Bay. Couldn't resist the detour for an FTF and the possibility of three today. Carried on to the nearby cache too. Had never been up in this area before. Swapped TB cars.

Wasn't sure whether i would have enough light to do this one at 6am this morn so left it to after work with the kids so was not surprised that we were not FTF.Great cache and a quick easy find.Final location caught my eye as soon as we pulled up but used the device anyway to confirm it.TFTC,keep up the good work.
