Enjoyed the read about the tram network. Very busy here but managed to dash in sign n out. Tftc
Found during a one day business trip to Melbourne. Thankfully, the meeting is tomorrow and I have some geocaching time before hopping back across the Tasman.
Thanks! Spent a while chilling here before retrieving as traffic was mental.

I decided the only thing to do was to ignore the cars at the lights. What were they going to do? Stop there and muggle?
An orienteering event today at the show grounds so s good opportunity to find some nearby caches. Thanks vp4.

Very hard to retrieve and place back due to all the cars waiting for the lights

Today we ventured out to the victory park playground to let the geokids burn off some excess energy before heading back to perth tomorrow.
I left the kids for a few minutes and wandered over to this one.
Stealth was an issue so pretended to be taking photos of the park while making the grab.
Struggled to get the log out because I didn't have any of my usual tools but managed the extraction and signed the log.

Simple to locate and the Royal Melbourne Show traffic paid no attention to us. Thank you for telling a story with your cache.
After a day showing sheep at the show, we thought we'd grab this cache. There was a lot of traffic about, but it was dark, which reduced the chances of anyone seeing us. Found cache quickly, signed it quickly & discreetly too. TFTC vp4.
Took a short detour on my way to the airport this morning. Parked around the corner and walked back to GZ. A quick find in a logical spot. TFTC, Biggles.
Very hard to be nonchalant grabbing this easy but awkward cache. Thanks!

My sincere apologies to all cache owners for what I am about to do. Unfortunately, I have been unable to keep up with my logs for the past 5 months or so, meaning that it is becoming very impractical for everybody involved. Over the these last few months I have certainly found some fantastic caches showing off both the beautiful areas around the world, and the ingenious minds of cachers alike. I haven't had the greatast find rate over the past few months, but that is also due to the same reason I have fallen behind in my logs. I would like to thank all cache owners for their wonderful contribution to the caching community, and again I sincerely apologise for the generic logs.

Found 12:09pm , find # 2295
Today I visited the Melbourne 4 x 4 Outdoors Show at the Showgrounds in Flemington.
I picked up a couple of caches before and a couple more afterwards.
This was the 2nd of 4 for the afternoon.
After finding the nearby "down the old lane" cache, I returned to Epsom Rd and came up to this one. There were lots of cars around, although not too many muggles on foot.
The old "Lean on this while I do my shoelace up" trick was used twice, one for retrieval (left shoe) and then for replacement (right shoe) and I was on my way to the show.
Thanks vp4.

This was a pretty easy find - there weren't too many places in the area where it could've been hiding. There was quite a bit of traffic though. Thanks for the cache vp4.
This second cache of the day was very close to the first of the day, so that was good. This was a quick nonchalent grab, then we logged it and were on our way. Thanks for the cache.

Between some retail therapy at Queen Victoria Market and a visit to relatives, we couldn't resist looking for some caches.
We visited this site in April 2012 but were thwarted by a DNF - seems as though it was missing! This time it was all quiet and a quick find! Thanks for the interesting information regarding FootscrayTramway Trust.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt vp4.

Another one crossed of the list. I only have one more to go and then the final. Quickly signed the log and got out of there before I looked too suspicious.

I actually found this one on Saturday after visiting the International Coffee Expo - a great day. TFTC vp4.
Arrived in Melbourne late last night. Accidently ended up at the Moonee Ponds train station when I got on a wrong train. Took the opportunity to find some caches. Perfect timing for me since I notice that this was only recently replaced. Thanks vp4.
The area has been repaired after the damage. If the treasure is to be revised/ replaced now is the time.
Sounds like this cache and its hiding structure had had a collision with a passing vehicle. Will replace soon. If you need the tram number for the final email me
Camo has undergone severe damage. That's what speeding metal does to a good hide. Home is under repair but treasure is surely lost.
There was a car accident at the hiding spot late last night, a car ended up through the road barrier and then the front yard of the house near the hiding spot! Had a quick look but couldn't find the cache, who knows where it has ended up.
Felt very suss here especially with all the traffic for the races but did our best to be inconspicuous. TFTC
Muggles everywhere- tried to be stealth but probably just looked like a creeper! =D
Took us a little while this one as we were looking in the complete wrong spot!

What a lot of muggle car traffic near GZ! Had no trouble locating the cache but the timing of retrieving it and replacing it was a challenge indeed! Lovely park nearby. TFTC vp4 and the challenge!
Travelling with Leb_hustla06 this was a nice quick find, collected, logged and on our way in no time!
Timing was everything in nabbing this one! Hard to be nonchalant retrieving this on a busy Saturday afternoon but a quick grab and away we go! Thanks and cheers !
High muggle area of the four wheeled variety.. just got to time it just right, The log was signed, the clue was noted, and we moved on to the next one.
5881 + 687 = 6568. Found on a wander around Melbourne during a long weekend visit.
A quick grab between the traffic for this find. Getting it back actually took longer !! Thanks vp4 !!

Another one in the series found! Being the early evening heading towards dusk meant there were few cars about. I was able to grab it with little fuss. I look forward to getting to the end of the series. Thanks vp4 for the cache.
Quick find, got it straight away.
But a bit difficult with so much traffic.

Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, go go go....
Sign the log, get the clue and then all over again in reverse.
3 in the morning has to be the best time for this cache. Tried once before at 6pm, no way. Got it tonight about 8:30.

Quite a bit of traffic coming out of Langs road today so I was feeling a little conspicuous even when the greens were go on Epsom. Sat the fence for a bit to wait for a lull. Thanks.
what nice day to be around and about. following the clues it was an easy find. alot of traffic so watch out for muggles. TFTC.
There's certainly a lot of traffic here! I made my grab and return when it was moving. Thankfully it was an easy one. Thanks!
I always have the theory that too much traffic is better than none when it comes to looking for these types of caches. This means that drivers are always too busy or self absorbed too worry about you and and what you are doing.
So my simpe rule is these kinds of caches. Collect it when there is a green light and return it in a green light. Drivers wont see both actions and therefore won't know what you are doing, unless they are cachers themsleves!!! TFTC!

I made a few people cross.
I parked along a drive way. And alittle of the road Right near G.Z.
There was no where to park. Legally.
Lucky i found it super quick. Then i was on my way.
thanks vp4 [:x]

Near the end of the 19th century railway lines were set up to provide people with access to areas to live. Railway lines were built by land speculators such that where there was transport there was valuable land.
Well early in the 20th century the old formula did not work for trams as evidence of the failure of the Footscray tramway system. Still the western suburbs are so close to Melbourne but the land is relatively cheap in comparison to the East.
The bananas have stumbled upon a few of these caches and it is interesting to see how far the network would have stretched.
On a day when Epsom road was closed due to the running of the Melbourne Cup this was an easy find.
Thanks vp4 for restoring this again as it has been on B1 watchlist for a long time while the repairs were being made.

Found this one and the whole series today. This was the first one that I found and I realised where the cache was hidden but it was quite tricky retrieving and returning the cache today without being observed by motorised muggles. I got there in the end though and signed log but didn't swap anything.
Thanks for the cache and the series vp4.

After spending a lot of time in the Bayside area recently, Burge and I decided it was time to head back around Melbourne's West to pick up some of the newer caches in the area (and some of the older ones we haven't had a chance to get to!). We were targeting traditionals and this was find number 5 for the evening on a night that produced nearly as many DNF's as it did finds!
I've been enjoying the FTT series and as we approached GZ from the West I was worried that this one might be a tough one to find without being noticed by nearby traffic. Thankfully there was a gap in the traffic just long enough to get the cache and we signed it and noted the clue before placing it back in its hiding spot. We had to wait a little while due to cars at the lights and I'm sure we looked rather funny standing there for what seemed like an eternity but we managed to hide it unnoticed before heading off to the next cache.
Thanks for the cache, vp4!

I have found a couple in this series each week after my sporting comp at MSAC. So tonight I thought I'd do the last two containing clues to the final cache. I managed to get a car park in a nearby street. There were no muggles about, just a few passing cars. Not a lot of places to hide a cache so I knew where it had to be. After a very brief search I located the bold hide and retrieved it quickly between passing cars. I signed the log at 11:15pm and then speedily returned the cache to its hiding spot. TNLN.
Thanks vp4 for the cleverly hidden cache and for the history lesson on the Footscray Tramways and MMTB.

Found on my weekly caching expedition by tram and shoe-leather through the suburbs. Today it was a train into the city, then a 57 tram to the Kensington/Ascot Vale area where a circuit on foot of about 12 caches awaited me before I took another 57 tram back into the city for dinner.
I like the theme behind this series and I'm determined to go for the rest now as I love caching by tram! It was also fortuitous that I have the Melbourne Tram Traveller #3 travel bug in my possession at the moment. Was a quick find once I got a gap in the traffic. Thanks for the cache vp4.

Finding myself at Highpoint first thing in the morning, I figured I may as well try for a couple of caches: one that had eluded me, and one that had just been resurrected.
Ah, the missing FTT cache... it's nice to have the whole set at last. Found exactly where I had expected it would be when I rolled through on my bike not long after it had been muggled. A short pause after signing the empty log sheet (and not needing the tram number for the mystery... kindly provided earlier) while traffic shifted so I could put it back, and off I headed, home and out of the wind and rain.
Thanks once again, vp4. A fun little series.

24/06/2012 17:39 I didn't refresh my listing before looking. Only later did I see it was noted as missing, oh well, I should have got it when here a few months back. - David.
Missing again might try a better location if you need the number for the mystery contact me. cheers
Didn't find 4-15pm
Diddysmum and I thought we might seek out this one after the Coffee Expo across the road, on the way back to the car.
We were a bit "wired up" on caffeine and so should have been a bit more than alert usual. Still we didn't find the cache.
I'll keep an eye on logs to see when I may be able to try this one again.
Thanks for another nice piece of history anyway.

Found this one once wore but came back because I lost the notes on it. It's definately not there anymore

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
Checked out all the likely spots, and if anything like the others in this series, we should have found it . . . not today though!
Thanks for the hunt anyway vp4 .

I took some time to find this cache. I knew exactly where to look but I had to wait for the traffic to clear. Once it was all clear the cache was an easy find. TFTC
Great hide! We stopped at the cache on our way to a nearby one. Nice and quick! Thanks for the cache!

Not much foot traffic to contend with however stealth was required as the lights didn't change to often however after signing the log whilst "collecting the mail" from the apartments next door I was soon on my way
Find # 3537 and 12th of the day @ 5:05 pm. I had the afternoon to myself so what better than get a few caches. Easy find. TNLN, Left my mark in the log, Thanx Vp4....
#28 Thought a muggle got me on this one but they just asked for directions! Phew! NIce hide with cool history, unfortunately it not the greatest place on earth now TFTC
Although the muggle car traffic did seem like a concern, the find was quick and easy enough to not cause too much havoc. TFTC.
Finally found the sneaky thing. This is my second attempt and I'm happy to mark it as found. TFTC vp4.
No muggles around when i made the find, but then when i tried to replace it they came outa the woodwork!
