TFTC! One of my favourite short tracks and I hadn't considered there being caches here until now.
On another jaunt with a client today, collecting some caches. Quick find at GZ, and all good there.Needless to say, wakeupsleepy hasn't actually signed the log TFTC
Today Zozetta and I went caching at Tinderbox, starting the day at Blackmans Bay for an ftf on a EarthCache, then making our way down to Tinderbox, and then up to Howden. In total we had ten finds and no DNFs.Another location that I didnt know about. Ive discovered a lot of places that I didnt know about today. Both caches on this track were quick finds. Thanks for the cache CatwomanAU!
Our first geocache find in ages! Suns out so we decided to find a nice non snowy walk for us to do. A new track for us too! Thanks!
Ah dear. Reading past logs. Everyone wants to be so easily offended these days. Really. I think it's a good and fitting name and a nice story.
It would be interesting to know what was up here, evidence of possible mines, or bunkers, water races, or trenches. This ridge may well have been used in war times, or just for mining, or logging. It would be interesting to find out. Today I walked the entire track right through and back. It could still do with a couple more caches. It's a long walk too. Lovely spot and surprisingly busy. Thanks for the cache CatWomanAU

As my friends named the cache, it will remain the same as they personally referenced it as themselves coming to find and place it. They did it with such great joy and excitement and it would be a shame to change it due a person believing the title relates to a war from the early 20th Century, thereby negatively portraying their ethnicity and sullying their beautiful fun-loving innocence while geocaching for the first time.
It should be noted that this title was approved by the regulators.

The cache name should be changed. Associating Japanese exchange students with an ethnic slur relating to war and invasion isn't in the spirit of exchange programs or the global game of geocaching. "Japanese Exchange" would be far better. Found it.
A very nice walk into this one with killer views to the East through the trees. The cache was found and the log signed at 11:01 on Saturday 28 August 2021.
As for the Japs i didn't spot any... i think my timing may be out ha ha
The cache and contents are in A1 condition

I have lived in nearby Blackman's Bay for a long time and never knew this trail was here. Kids and I went to get this and the next cache but ended up doing the whole walk. Absolutely worth the effort with spectacular views. Based on the name, I had expected some sort of fortification or watching area - can only assume it was because this area was used to monitor activity near the river mouth. Thanks for a well maintained cache and a great walk
Found it on a lovely day for a walk up the top of Tinderbox. Dropped off one of my Kidd's old marbles. I knew I kept them for something!
Used to come here over 25 yrs ago to walk the dogs, thanks for bringing me back TFTC
Hi CatWomanAU,
TFTC,
A nice find on a nice day tanks for bringing me here.
Cache is good. Found it quite exposed but hid it better than before.
Thanks again,
KingSmev

Whilst walking this nice track with a walking group, we showed them the cache and explained how geocaching works. Thanks for an easy find with good coordinates.
Found this one earlier this evening and find it hard to believe that I would have walked past it at least half a dozen times before we got into geocaching a couple of years ago. A good spot to enjoy the views and relax. TFTC from the inspectorrexteam
We'd first walked the Tinderbox Hills track about a year ago, before we took up geocaching, but for a long time hadn't really had a great desire to return - it's a great spot with some beautiful views over the Derwent River and North West Bay, but the abrupt end to the track was a little dispiriting.
Today we finally decided to make our return, and pick up the three caches in the area along the way. Fortunately for us, we came across a nice variety of interesting flora and fauna on our journey which, combined with finding some caches, made the trip well worthwhile. Unfortunately, in the end, we only found two of the three caches.
We found this one quite easily - it was completely exposed, and easily visible from 20 metres away. Fortunately it was otherwise in good condition, and the log was soon signed. We added a little extra camouflage when replacing the container.
TFTC!

TFTC! Put back into hidey hole, was found near the GZ but very much in the open...
Fun little find with the kids using old school navigation techniques using the neighbours directions! Will have to bring some treasures to contribute to the cache next time.
A quick find while walking Geodog along this lovely track. Been meaning to come here for years. Good to have an excuse to so. TFTC
Went for an afternoon stroll with our 2 little geokids today and decided to pick up a couple of caches while we were out. A quick easy find at gz, perfect for the geokids, and they loved loking through all the treasures. TFTC
I've always wondered how to get up on to these hills, and now I know! Thanks for placing a geocache here CatWomanAU! The GeopGSP and I headed off to do the caches along the walking trail on these hills today - I like your idea of having a few geocaches along the trail on the way to "Tinderbox Hills", it makes it feel so much more worthwhile We were passed by two sets of mountain bikers just near GZ for this cache - one heading out, one heading home. A lovely shared trail for dog walkers and mountain bikers.
This series of sorts was Gooses idea and after parking at the end of the nearest road we walked up hill for a bit before being greeted by this good sized, we were treated to some good views as we stood at gz.
Thanks for the cache.

Saturday morning dawned clear and sunny. After a few chores I picked up stainless-steel-rat and we headed to Estuary Drive for a walk and do some caching. This was our first for the day and after bit of huffing and puffing we made it to GZ. A quick find, nice big container. Great views up here. TNLN, TFTC
Hi CatWoman, thanks for your caches on Tinderbox Hills. We found both tonight on an evening stroll along a track we've never been on before. After torrential rains today in Tassie, we were very much hoping that we'd make it before the next rain fell. And we did! Pity the mist and super low cloud obscured most of the views as the darkness slowly set in.

With some time off this morning, I decided I needed some exercise and a short walk along the Tinderbox Hills track was in order. This was a quick find along a track I've not been along before. TFTC!
What a great hiding place! I would recommend bringing gloves for anyone who doesn't like sticking their hand into dark places!!! Tftc
Lovely evening! Dropped trackable. TFTC!

On a route to pick up unique caches for a challenge cache and found this one quickly on our way to the required cache.

Easy find - geopup nearly found it before I did! The lid was already off and had collected a bit of water, but treasure and note pad still safe pen....isn't working so I only managed to write 'found'.
Next time I'm about I'll try remember to bring a pencil!

It was a very windy, but otherwise pleasant day for walking. The wind obviously kept other walkers away and we were able to locate and log the cache without any interruptions. Tftc
Nice walk to this one on a lovely spring day! Kept following the path to log a couple more too TFTC
Easy find on the way up to Tinderbox Hills. This was a nice little walk for some exercise and interrupted views between the trees.
Day 25 of 31 Days of Geocaching.
Needed a quick local find this afternoon so headed out to this one hoping that the track wouldn't be to steep! Actually this is a lovely walking track and got to GZ without too much puffing. GPS led me around the place a bit and I looked in a few wrong places but then spotted the right one and had the cache in hand. Pity the kids weren't with me - they would have gone mad with all the swaps! Will bring them back soon and look for the one further up the track. TNLN TFTC!

A quick find while on a short walk on a sunny morning in the Tinderbox Hills. TNLN. Thanks CatWomanAU.
