Cache is well hidden and has most likely been overlooked. Due to current lock down situation in Melbourne it will be at least end of September/Early October before I can check on it.

With still a bit of time on my hand, and driving past, this cache caught my eye. Certainly glad that it did as it is a lovely location that would have been perfect if not for the couple of the beach and rocks that keep looking in my direction.

Got to the GZ and after 5 minutes searching actually kicked the cache before I actually saw it. Not sure how I missed it, but lovely location, and big thanks for bringing me here

Thanks for the cache Gruff Puppy

Found @08:45 while in the area to pick up a set of wheels for the new geomobile. A lovely little secluded area to drop of a coin and take in the view. TFTC - left a pencil pack and a new zip lock bag for the log book which was a little damp.

I was working over most of the Easter long weekend but had today off. We decided to head down to Mornington to check out an Escape room. Have never tried one before. As we were running about 90 mins early for our booking we decided to detour to the beach and try and knock over a cache or two in the process. I left the other two check out the beach whilst I got to GZ. A fairly quick find and went further up the slope to the left to check out the wall fragments and sign the log more out of sight. TNLN TFTC gruffpuppy, quite a bit of interesting history here. BTW we did the Escape room in 47 mins. I think our many years of caching helped us to find and solve the many missing clues.

19-Apr-19
The fourth of nine caches found this morning with Geoson the Younger.

The three caches prior to this today were all pretty much park-n-grabs, so it was nice for us to take a bit of a stroll to GZ on this one.

We passed a few muggles of the dog-walking and morning constitutional walk variety on the way, however once at our destination we had the pleasant little beach to ourselves and quickly had the container in hand.

Signed the log, thanks for the cache, and for bringing us to this unexpected but lovely spot, gruffpuppy.

Great hiding spot but needed the hint in the end for the kids to find.

14-Oct-18
After having attended the lead up to Parkville event in Mordialloc I decided to head down towards the Peninsula and pick up a few caches as well as have an extensive walk. I’d just walked and walked and walked to not have a found the multi cache at the end of my efforts and was on the way back to the car. I consoled myself with a couple of trads before heading for home. This was one of them and after having actually found the cache I turned around and was greeted with the view depicted in the attached photo.
Sometimes, just sometimes I regret not having a regular caching partner to share something like this with. This was one such moment. The view was just so sublime and utterly peaceful.
Thanks so much for bringing me here gruffpuppy. I think the cache deserves a favourite point both for the view and the extensive historical information on the cache page which brings what you are looking at to life at least to some extent.

After a disappointing DNF nearby, I thought I'd head to this one in the hopes of making today a success. Anyway, I parked at the pub, since I thought that was closer to the cache than the parking the CO had nominated. But noooo, once I crossed the road, I realised I had to walk all the way back to the nominated parking area before I could head down the path. Sigh. Pride before a fall, and all that!!!
Anyway, really interesting to see how this has changed from a thriving industrial site to a wind-swept overgrown foreshore, with this brickwork being the only hint that there used to be something else here! But a quick cache find, then stumbled back up to the car in the dark (didn't expect to be night caching!). Thanks for the cache.

*After a rare breakfast of delicious pancakes and a rather wet wander through the Mornington Midweek Market, it was time for some Peninsula caching.*

What a fascinating story, something we would not learnt about were it not for playing the geo-game.

Thanks gruffpuppy for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Since I started work in Frankston a couple of years back I have been ticking off caches close enough to get out and back to during my lunch break. I'm getting to the limit of that radius but I did notice a little cluster just south of Mornington that were still within reach. I didn't choose the ideal spot to park for this one and ended up walking the long way around and passing a spot where I was earlier in the week. It was a very pleasant stroll though and with the area around GZ free of any muggles I was able to make a quick find. A very interesting story about the history here and a shame in my opinion that the council didn't choose to make more of the archaeology of the plant. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache gruffpuppy.

I had a quick look near where I found the cache but failed to find it and followed eh arrow on my GPS which was taking me a rather unexpected area after persisting for while I consulted the hint and returned to the first place I searched and a suggested by the hint which soon revealed the cache just as promised. I then wandered around through the undergrowth trying to find as much of the remains as I could.
interesting spot and thanks for the background story.

out bike riding today and was looking forward to doing this one due to the history that I didn't know about. Looks like it was a big operation for a short time. Cache was discovered after a short search once GPS settled down. Log signed and all back safe. I dropped off a trackable.
Thanks for bringing me here, it was great.

This was the fifth of nine that I found today in this little cluster of caches just south of Mornington. Today started like any other Saturday for me in recovery mode from the big week at uni haha, either way I had to go out and to some chores in Frankston (a.k.a buy dad his fathers day gift) but I knew that there would be some spare hours in the day to make the final push to 200 find whoop whoop (spoilers I made it haha). I gotta say this was a nice rock wall haha I really enjoyed being taken to this historical wall Smile. Anyways thank you for the cache and the neat spot Smile

Not sure why I didn't wander down to this one in my previous hunts along here, but I'm glad I did. This could almost be an earth cache perhaps... although there was no information about the significance of these walls that I could see nearby. Such a nice spot with a great view. Thanks for bringing me here. A favourite point for me.

Thanks gruffpuppy.

Fascinating site, all the more so having belatedly read the description properly. Somewhat surprised it's completely unprotected and un-signposted. As for the cache, I managed to turn over the correct rock quite early in the search, but skilfully kept the container obscured in the process, and moved on. It took it a second pass, god knows how many minute later, before I laid eyes on it! Thanks gruffpuppy!

Great little spot, geomutt liked this one too, lot more interesting to fossick around, thanks for the excuse to go to such a nice areaSmile Oops, almost forgot to add (actually, had to work out how to do it!) found my first geocoin!! Was even more exciting as it's emblem was a rockhopper penguin and one of my major interests is doing volunteer research...yep, you guessed it....on penguins!! This little guy wants to visit his relatives down south, so off to Phillip Island he will go on my next trip Big Grin

We were down this way for a visit and ended up with about an hour spare so I took off to here to see if I could find a few caches. After finally working out the correct way in, I arrived at GZ for the find after a short search (and a squiz at the hint Red Face) at 15:35.

A fascinating spot and an interesting history of the area.

TNLNSL, although our BYO pen geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks gruffpuppy.
