Ok- a bit to report here. Scrabbled up the hill, and was a bit disturbed to find the container in plain sight. It was sitting in a little hidey hole but clearly visible. When I opened it there was no log, but strangely a few bits and pieces inside. I checked the "hole in the hill" and sure enough there were a few bits of paper- one was a bit of a log, and the other the instructions and request not to vandalise the cache! Looks like they had tried to set fire to this one... Any way I gathered the paper up and put it back in the cache, and then re hid and covered up the cache, where I found it (as it did seem to be the best hole). Suggest to the cache owner that a check and maybe relocation may be necessary as I got the feeling that the kids who probably did this are likely to be back. Nice spot though and enjoyable cache otherwise.

Went to check on cache today and found some kids haning round the cache site. Searched around where the cache should of been but I couldnt find it. Then one of the kids asked was I looking for a container. I said i was and they said that they found it and didnt know what it was so they threw it off the bank. Will replace with container that looks exactly the same when i get the chance.

Found this one on a nice and sunny day. Enjoyed the scramble up the hill, going back down was a bit slower though. A quick find, just bumped into it. Our GPS said we were still 20 meters short. The view from the top is quite nice!

Had a little bit of trouble Smile with this one and a few laughs, we approached from the wrong side so took a bit of extra effort to climb the hill. The fort is interesting and last person that found the cache had concealed it well, after reading logs we decided to take the more direct approach back down. Thanks very enjoyable Smile

An interesting place and an easy find TFTC
Picked up Celebrate Summer Trackable and dropped off Pingu Trackable

26-Sep-10
Easily found as was rather exposed, replaced with a bit of leaf litter to camo it slightly. As to the hole in the ground, I suspect it might have been some kids fort from back when kids did that sort of thing. Down the northern side there is what looks like could have been a roof to it made from mill felt. Anyway thats my theory.
Dropped off Celebrate Summer trackable. TFTC

We didnt muck around with this one, had the alert and it was all aboard the CACHE mobile dogs and all and off to Ohope, didnt even have time to eat my pudding!! had to put in on ice in the freezer till we returned! Claimed the cache find at 7.52pm, were unsure if ZL1UBK had already been or not..... Not as it turned out, and it gave us the FTF we required for March.

Thanks surfknight, very cool cache position, well done.

Took Tea Candle. TFTC!!
