As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm temporarily archiving this to keep it from continually showing up in search lists. Just contact us when you have the cache repaired, and assuming it still meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
Like all the other cachers, couldn't find this either. Checked both sides of the road incase co-ords were slightly out, disappointing.
I found the ginger but not the flax or the cache!! Recent roadworks may have damaged it!
Wow big search shouldn't have read logs first ended going back to first thought and found .. finally
While hint is a little outdated ... Easy find... Very wet contents.. Needs some repair
Took a fair bit of searching. Vegatation seems to have changed since publishing and cache contents soaked.
Cache description needs updating as the vegetation described doesn't really match reality. Cache contents including logbook soaked.
This one ended up being a park and grab, once we found the correct road/driveway to take. This one took abit of time to find as the hint doesnt relate at all to the cache. GZ must have changed since it was placed a few years ago. Logbook rapidly turning to mush as we only just got our names on there. TFTC.
I knew were it was before I started looking and the hardest part was getting to it. Thank you so much for bringing me here for these AWESOME views. TFTC shaddowshide
Last one on my list of caches to find on my birthday outing ! Keen to find this as I lived on Forest Hill Road for years ! Rather challenging , finally found I was looking on wrong side of road ! Thanks Ric !
Parked at the community centre and walked along the "forest track" towards GZ. The path from the track to GZ is well trodden although still a little iffy under foot. The LB was damp but still usable.

After the earlier find today, snakelion family decided to take a little road trip with our little one. It was a lovely ride to this place and the views were awesome....got to admire mother nature after such a long time - it seems now...
Cache was located after bit of search. There seemed to be a unhappy dog nearby with our presence in the area. Never the less the cache log was signed and we left to enjoy the lovely day.

Fairly quick find at the location. The 2 dogs above barked the whole time I was there - luckily didn't seem to be any one home. TFTC
Great view, not so great visit but with this view i will DEFINITELY be up here to try again!
Another old running route of mine

The owner of the house drove up and asked if we had lost something. She then waited until we left - i guess we must have looked like drug dealers. t4tc
Found with PageNZ, possibly lost my phone here so if amybody finds it you know who to contact.. TFTC
Out for a scenic twilight drive in the Waitaks this evening and to grab some quick caches as I go. Found the graceful forest driveway--how did I ever manage before getting the new GPS for the car?--and parked up near the cache. Nice view up here. GPS had me looking at the wrong side of the road initially. Two large dogs on the nearby property soon had me retreating to the car. Took the chance to adjust the altitude in the GPS (it was only 100m out!). Now it pointed to the correct side of the road and the cache! A nice little hide. Though you need to be carfull not to grab onto anything pointing as you try to keep your balance. Found the hint to be accurate in some regards but somewhat misleading. Cheers for the cache!
Hi again, this cache is in perfect order. Unmoved from its original location. Just keep giving it a go and you shall find it soon.
Thanks you, I will review this cache very shortly, should be sorted by the end of this week.
On our way to Piha, we passed it and guessed which road to take on our way back. So, some hours later, we took that road and ended up 5m close to GZ. But either the description points to the private property with the barking big dog, or we are blind for the items in the hint. Hmmm. Another time.
did it on a wet day not a good idea, but thanks glad the rocks hold the road up otherwise a nasty fall in here .
As TWS says it is just a matter of getting on the right road. A few stabs from the gorse still didn't take away the enjoyment of the views.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Drove right up to it, but parking a bit tricky. Too bad the slope has so many nasties on it, gorse, cannas etc etc, otherwise a nice area. TFTC
Big Cacher was sent down the tricky bank but the cache was in hand fairly quickly once down there. TFTC

Left Postcard, took nothing. I think there were strange people following us. I think it was icecream.
Stopped by on the way home from Cornwallis this morning. Had spent over an hour searching for this cache when it was first published. This time a nice quick find with the new co-ords. Great views of Auckland city from up here. TFTC.

We first attempted this just after publication and spent some considerable time searching on a dark wet night. Decided on another attempt today with the new coordinates and when we arrived at GZ we were greeted by the resident guard dogs. Decided to wait in the car until they disappeared but that took some time. When the coast was clear we quietly closed the car door and crept up to GZ and luckily soon had the cache in hand then raced back to the car as those were dogs we did not want to mess with T4TC.
A very discrete deviation from the main road. Great view at GZ. Followed the trail to the cache. T4TC - M@
Nice view, easy find although me thinks I need new shoes...

Parked up at 4m from cache, as reported by the GPSr, but unfortunately it was pointing to a spot in the middle of the road. Searched above the road and below (man that is seriously steep - if it's down there somewhere I sure hope it's secure!) around all the trees we felt we could safely reach. There certainly is a great view over Auckland from about 50m further down the road. Shortly before we gave up, the local muggle arrived home and released his hounds, so beware future searchers: unfenced guard dogs. Don't really know quite what happened with this one, is it possible the coords are slightly out?
Had same problem here too, way too steep at places, I,m thinking we went from the wrong way. Re-thinking and will have another look!
I walked up the road to GZ and found FMZ already searching. Together we looked high and low at all accessible hint locations, but without success. Meanwhile Sherrie was at home trying to contact me with possibly vital information - note to self "CARRY the cellphone!" Eventually gave up after about an hour's searching. Will await the "quick easy find" logs.
After this one did not have a find I went for a look myself. When I arrived, I saw that other geocachers had already been here the roadside and the vegetation had already taken a beating. Not a good look.
Spent 20 minutes looking, but I am thinking the coordinates are off, as the view is restricted at the given GZ. Looked further down the road also and also looked both sides of the road. Dog from nearby house was barking and I felt like I had overstayed my welcome.
Think about the environment when placing a cache...people geocaching can damage an area quickly.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused anyone, but I have entered new coordinates and given a new - hopefully more descriptive - hint.
Thank You,

Saw the new coords come up and raced out the door. About 10 minutes later, a quick easy find with the updated coords, and even without the new hint. Congrats on your first hide, initial hiccup aside, it's a good cache. FTF #340 . TFTC!!!
