Found by Aussie Train Driver 05/02/2024, find number 1757.Travelling the backroads today and I couldn't resist finding a few caches. This one was a quick find after calculating the coordinates. I love caches like these, they highlight the history of these little known places that we'd drive straight past if there wasn't a cache there. TFTC!
It felt like high time to get out caching again after a day off and I was itching for a bit of a drive and a cache out of town. I checked the map and the Wedderburn area looked inviting so away I scooted. I am hoping to find about eight or ten caches today.
I always enjoy these memorials scattered around the countryside, and the caches that highlight them. It is amazing just how many there are and the history and stories they contain. This is my last cache for the day and I think my tenth so a very happy and successful day. Thanks to all the cache owners.

I am camping on the banks of Wooroonook Lakes near Charlton for Easter with a group of mainly muggle friends. Managing to escape for short bursts of caching amongst the Easter festivities.
I have needed a Monday event for some time so we decided to make the longer drive into Bendigo to grab this one.
Stopping in to grab this multi on the way, we gathered the details and made the find soon after.
Thanks tigersden for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

Staying in St Arnaud for a few days and taking a leisurely drive to Wedderburn. Cache found and log signed TFTC
It has been almost 12 months since the last visitor after the Mega in St Arnaud last year. Happy to have broken the drought and SL at 2.25pm after doing our sums. A rather lonely and perhaps not often travelled road. Thanks for bringing these plaques to our attention tigersden. Another reminder that small communities can die out once families leave the district for bigger towns and cities. #7176 TFTC

After enjoying a fantastic weekend away at the St Arnaud mega event, it was time to head home to Newcastle, with a few select cache stops along the way.
This was a great little piece of history, and enjoy finding these types of caches!

A good little multi to break up the day. Such a history rich area! Thanks for creating this, we enjoyed working it out and finding the cache!
These were three interesting plaques recognising some of the history of the area. Data collection was straightforward. With the coordinates calculated it was off to GZ. At this point was out in the open, we had to widen the search area and finally found the cache about 11m from the calculated coordinates. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tigersden for the cache.

We decided to go on more of an out of town caching tour this morning, together with ilook4geo, which resulted in some really fun finds. This was one of the caches we enjoyed finding today. The log was signed in each cache and all was put back into place before we moved on to the next cache on our target list. There was no problem in working out the new numbers for this off set multi. Thanks go to tigersden for contributing to our day's fun by placing this cache.
The day's caching with goingplaces2 included a wide variety of types. All were found to be in good order, all found logs were signed and replaced. We had a fun day and thank each CO for being a part of what we enjoyed doing.
Day 3 of the Mega trip with Dr Owl and there was the aim of getting my 12,000th find. Again so many options around here. A plan of sorts was hatched and we were off.
We were on our way 'home' when Owl decided there was time for one more cache. The final coords were worked out sitting in the car and then we were off for the short walk to the cache.
Thanks for the cache tigersden.

A new day and a new challenge - this time to get Sushilord to 12,000 caches. All goals were achieved by the end of the day, so it was nice to finish (in the dark) with another cache type.
Found this one on the way back to the motel I was staying at. Nice short offset cache.
Thanks tigersden for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Found, while walking the route of Major Mitchell with the Essendon Bushwalker Club.
Today we walked from Holts Lane (off Wedderburn-Brenanah Rd to the Fenton’s Creek CFA Shed. Today’s walk 15-20 km.
This is our second day of five based at St Arnaud.
How handy hot cachet’s!
After following the creek we popped out onto the tar road about 850 south of the memorial.
Mrs Riddell was able to get a leave pass to droit north, collect the cache and continue south to Fenton’s Creek.
As Mrs Riddell left the group with Ruby1952 a lovely weather eaten farmer with 5 sheep dogs in his car offered us a lift.
Ruby1952 had join Mrs Riddell in her bike and having already passed the monument told him that’s as far as we only needed to go.
With that he said that he had a couple of relatives on the monument.
Sure enough there were 2 Hargreaves present on the WW2 Honor Role and the other with the School plaque.
So, we had extra real time history here with us today.
We saw 2 lots of foundation stumps at this location.
The memorial rock is well set back off the road and there is heaps of space for parking and a break.

TFTC.We had left St Arnaud this morning heading for a recently published Breakfast event in Donald. We were traveling with Muff1 and were expecting a good day out caching. We were not disappointed.
WE had left Donald and made our way toward Wedderburn via some caches that Muff1 had not previously found. We were now in territory where both of us were in green territory.
This was the last for the day. Quick calculation and cache in hand.

After enjoying a sausage at the local Wedderburn Event we headed the long way home via St. Arnaud and picked up all the caches in between. We soon sorted out the AAA and BBB, leading us straight to the cache.

Staying at Redbanks overnight with Anymules and Mogni to attend the 3 months till the Surf Coast event in St Arnaud. Up early we have all morning to cache our way to the event. In preparation we had solved 25 nearby puzzles so they were on our 'must do' list. A day of caching with me usually involves blood spilled, a fall and/or ripped clothing. I wonder which order they will be in today? Not to mention lots of laughs and adventures.
20 cache finds and no DNFs later we found ourselves at the event we came for. So after a few snags, a few chats and lots of trackables discovered it was time to cache again. [^]
With light fading we decided to leave other caches and concentrate on puzzles. By the time we had stopped for dinner we had added a further 25 cache finds to out total, still with no DNFs. [:O)]
Over dinner we discussed what to do during the evening. A challenge back home need three night caches found in one night. All of us had done way more than that but none had done three in one night. There were two in St. Arnaud but we would have to drive to Wedderburn for the third. Pizza consumed. Decision made. Break out the torches. [^]
With the three night caches added to our tally it was time to cache our way back to our digs once again. Probably be tomorrow before we get there.
Some people don't even attempt multi-caches. Even when we need to be somewhere else I will always stop and at least get the first part started. They are always located in interesting places. This was no exception and the bonus was that GZ was not too far away. So we got the cache as well. Thanks tigersden.

Found this morning while caching around the south side of Wedderburn before the BBQ event at lunchtime. Normally we are pretty spot on with our maths in multis, but this weekend Chook has been right off with nearly all of them. And its all been simple maths issues, nothing complicated. At this one, Chook had us heading way away into someone's paddock but soon realised that yet again the subtractions weren't done correctly. A quick alteration and we soon had the cache in hand.
Thank you Tigersden for the cache and for bringing us here. We do like stopping and reading memorial plaques and multis are ideal for this.

I was in town with the kids for the annual Wedderburn weekend. We teamed up with becca85, boo09 & neisha07 forming Team Clarmensma and we headed off for an afternoon of caching meandering slowly towards home. A nice little multi here - amazing to see plaques on the side of the road - thanks for making us stop so we can discover more about the region!
A nice quick find after some easy math.
With the old blokes awesome annual event this weekend, we made sure to make the trip over from Maryborough.
boo09, neisha07 & myself met up with GemmaSistema & co, forming Team Clarmensma and headed off for a morning caching.
Mud. So much mud! There were a few tentative maneuvers to get my low XR6 where I wanted it to be. Twice we failed and were thankful for fellow Geocachers letting us jump in the back of their 4x4.
After a fun lunchtime event, we had to head to an event in Melbourne via Newstead.
We traveled down to Logan, then over past the Melville caves before heading down to Arnold where we said Goodbye to the other half of Team Clarmensma and continued on to Maldon then Newstead.
A great day was had and we look forward to coming back in a hardier vehicle to grab some more we missed! TFTC!

A non -old Blokes cache for a change of pace. We needed to a quick recheck of the numbers when we didn't find it on the first pass but it was where Robmc looked in the first place, just not the first time.
The event day in Wedderburn - always a good turn with excellent caches, and this year was no exception. We (BettyBoo3747 and I) started the morning sleeping in then dashed out and did the Mash series before lunch. We then joined The Morris for a few of the further out caches. Dinner to come!
What a strange plaque about the church - it doesn't say when the church was here!
We gathered our information and walked off to GZ (then walked a bit further to the cache)
Thanks, Robmc.

I find these locations with their often simple yet poignant reminder of time and lives past the best caching experience and this gentle (stated as a compliment) multi is one of those. After reading the plaque and pondering of what occurred here it was a quick ramble to the cache location. I found the co-ords as calculated to be fine. Thank you to 'tigersden' for another one of your interesting cache locations. Found in the company of 'The Comrades', 'Dylan 7a', 'Gypsy Mackay' and 'The Possum Lady'. TNLN.
On the way to Wedderburn for the event and the road ahead was blocked by sheep, so we stopped to do the cache. Final Coords were out by 12 metres for us but we found it easy enough. Tftc tigersden
Detoured slightly for this one on our way to St Arnaud. Nice piece of history. I like caches like this that take one to places that would normally be driven straight past without a second thought. Took a bit longer to find this one than the allotted 5 mins that we had given ourselves, but found it none-the-less!

I drove along Brennah Creek Road to this cache, it was a bit of fun with the loose stones and plenty of corners Figured out the cache and it's hide pretty quickly, and scared a bunny rabbit from the hiding spot in the process.

Heading to Wedderburn from Dunolly we took a detour to find another tigersden old school site cache. The school here had quite a good run, it would be great to know the population of the area at the time. The honour roll is also another sad fact in our history how during both wars men walked off the land to go and serve for their country with so many never to return to their families again. We collected the required information and did the math's and headed off to gz where the cache was located exactly where the GPSr said that it should be. We were also rewarded with a much larger than normal container than we have found with this old school series.
We passed some coins through here
Thanks tigersden for the cache

Picked this one up on our way back to the caravan park after catching up for dinner with a friend from school.

I saw this cache symbol appear a few kilometres off track this afternoon and found a likely looking dirt road that might lead there
For once this was a reasonable backroad and I didn't end up wondering if I would get bogged in mud or sand or just rattle the geomobile and its contents to pieces on a rough road
Nearing GZ I found meself back on a 'main' road and soon had the rock sighted.
A few calculations later and it appeared that I had to wander down the road and across the nearby bridge to find a cache.
Didn't seem right to me and I redid the maths another couple of times until the coordinates fell on my side of the creek
Then it was a nice easy cache find [^]
So TFTC and history

Headed out from Bendigo at 1600, arrived at the stone with the plaques after an adventurous route here. Took photos of the stone then worked out the location of the cache. Found and logged, TFTC
Another one done, just in passing. An interesting old site. Took photos of the memorial stone and the remains. Did swap and signed log. Thanks for the cache to Tigersden
Found this one with my kids that are new to cacheing there hooked.Found at 4.30 pm nice spot thank's guys for getting us out of the house. TN left 50 cents.
Had to be quick as it was coming on to rain. Haleluya! It's sad to see the names of all the fallen from the World Wars, from what must have been such a small community. Now all that is left is a couple of rows of stumps. Sad.
TNLN Thanks Tigersden for bringing us to such a nostalgic place and a nice easy find.

Found by Roma and Max.
This was the last find for today and quite a milestone for our team as it represents our 300th FTF, and we haven't included any group FTFs where we have participated, and didn't find ourselves, in that count. We have to thank you in particular for your recent and prolific hiding efforts have greatly assisted us to this end. You have taken us to many interesting and historically significant sites such as this one and we compliment you for your efforts.
Cheers tigersden, and keep up the good work.
