Day one caching and seeing the sights of Otago and a bit of Southland with raylnz (big Sis from CH-Ch.) Brilliant day on the coast. Good to be out and about before our next self-imposed home detention. tftc
I'm heading sou'east from Gore in my cachemobile trying to locate and sign off caches in that direction.
It was certainly tucked away.

On a three week trip to the lower South Island with tmann421 hunting caches.

Found on our South Island roadtrip. Nice memorial here for the Old School. Lovely spot to witness a Ewe give birth in the nearby field. Magical. TFTC
Quick stop and grab on our way to fortrose with the kids for a run around. Cache is in good condition and tight where it should be. TFTC

We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

After receiving a text when I came back into reception through the Catlins I have had to make some major changes to my holiday plans. usually I would be heading to Invercargill but instead I'm heading North for pre-planned meetings before heading south again - but not this far. TFTC # 12,005

Attended the Family Walk through the Glenham Tunnel nearby and did some caching on our way back home. TFTC.

Cached found once we found the GZ. A big lorry had parked near the corner and we almost missed the stop. SL and returned to hide. tftc
My mission is my first 3 day tramp on Stewart Island. The Seagnoid has Xmas off so we are off on an epic adventure with Zara around the South Island. The Seagnoid is navigator and scribe, Zara and I have teamed up and Im cache logger. Its The Catlins to Bluff today, so lets get going!
OK my mind is on driving and not the navigator so nearly missed this one. Oh well we can do with a walk. Another quick snag and tag. Cheers

TaybeeDragon and I are off for a three day walk on Stewart Island. But we have a camper, so once you add in getting there and back, it's a three week trip. Day 9: Catlins to Bluff.
The dragon must have had her mind elsewhere - she totally ignore my countdown, missed the nice parking sport and elected to park in a crappy place further down the road. Oh, well, we needed the exercise anyway!

A nice big stone to mark the passing of a school - albeit a few months before I was born. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
The school made it to 90 years but not quite to 100 and now there is nothing left - except a big rock and this cache. Found with debsnz
Heading back to Dunedin after a weekend in Bluff. Decided to take a detour and mark off a few more off the main highway. Nice quick find by J. TFTC

What a lovely view which I wouldn't have seen if I hadn't been in search of a cache. Great place to watch the sunset (if not dragging bored muggles around).
Well, another one hits the dust. Seems that if you are a school or a church your future is not secure down here in Southland. Another rock and some nice tussock this time.

The ninth find for the night with ingidayna. Never knew this place was here. TFTC 
We find it very interesting visiting these historical sites in our area. Had to be discreet as farmers working nearby.
Nice warm evening and a quick find for the boys. Not much in the cache so left a muggle card and a sig item card. TFTC.

My 2nd last of 15 cache attempts today. I thought it was the vegemite container attached to the bus shelter - that had an invoice in it ... oops! Dropped off USA GC. TFTC!
