I shifted my snail shell to Roxburgh yesterday for a few days to enable me to locate and sign off a few caches up in thar hills.

I liked the way that the power wirs have to be kept separated.

Cheers for the cache.

Parked and walked out to this cache. Easy enough.

19-Dec-20
I was invited to Millers Flat for the weekend to wallpaper some feature walls in a new house. With two thirds of the work done on Saturday and 2 nights accommodation paid for, I decided to drive into the hills before tea at the pub.
What a great view, although slightly chilly up here. Cache quickly found, can't believe it's been nearly 2 years since since off these were last found.

A quick find on the way towards Styx via Lake Onslow this afternoon. Saw the striking rock outcrop from quite a distance away as we drove along the road. Parked and walked the last 100 metres or so, and good accurate coordinates took me pretty well straight to the cache. A great view indeed, I love the wide open expanses of country up here! Signed log, thanks for the cache and for bringing me here.

Haha great clue. Yep stumbled on the decoy hide and cache was found in the second place searched. SL on the LOL logbook and returned to hidden place. Thanks for bringing us here for the cache.

Found on a geoday with RowenaD and we are introducing some people to geocaching today. Wonder if they will get addicted to it too.

Passed the corner near the Snow line sign and parked at the gate thinking that was as far as I had to go. Was not aware the road I took further up the way to the other caches that was marked on the map was actually a secondary road to the signposted one (more about that later) and was a little rougher for my wee 2WD. Yep I rounded the raggedly rock and after looking in one suspicious rock pile (ahem thanks Jane), found the box in the next suspicious rock pile. Signed the Noice'n'dry LOL logbook (wee giggle) and read Daywalk's comment (another wee giggle) and left my own comment. Threw in some swag and grabbed the goods in a PVC baggy for the 400ml. Tick 3 of 6 on my Big OE (Onslow-fisherman Experience) to Lake Onslow. TFTC Jim.

Had lunch beside Lake Onslow, then drifted up here. The clouds had parted and we were now being cooked by the sun - some people are never happy, eh?

Found the cache in amongst some exciting skink hunting. A good spot, thanks Onslow Fisherman.

A great lookout to walk to - granville was naming all the animals that had popped there!
One of many places on this trip that I whipped my camera out for a scenic shot.

Finally arriving at the spot and the highlight of our trip, Lake Onslow. Due to our late start we were limited on the number of caches that we were able to do on this trip, BUT both Mrs Yeetrees and I had decided that if nothing else we were going to make it to this cache. Arriving at GZ just on dusk it was the perfect cache to finish off our day of caching in this area, we managed to find the cache without any issues and then decided to sit and relax and take in the setting sun before turning around and heading on our way back to Alexandra for the night. This was the best series of caches and the highlight of our South Island trip, we will definitely be back to finish off the rest of the caches in this area once the opportunity presents itself as this is why we took up caching for. Thank you very much Onslow fisherman for bringing us to this lovely spot, decided to drop Marmaduke and Princess Fairy Floss for a quick visit before heading on our way, TFTC TNLNSL (3055)

Great views this afternoon. Isn't funny when you come to large rock hidding a cache that you approach it from the longest route. TFTC

A fantastic location. Stunning view of the lake in the late afternoon light.

10-Sep-10
We were surprised at the deterioration in the road since we were last here. The soft surface has suffered from being driven on over the winter, although we understand it will be repaired for the summer. Fortunately we managed in our AWD car. Still patches of snow around, and lots of skinks when rocks are lifted. We did a couple of circuits before tracking down the cache. TFTC

22-Apr-10
A good view of the lake from here, and the cache was not to hard to find.

19-Apr-10
Found 17/4/10Thanks for the views.

03-Apr-10
A somewhat gloomy day with an approaching front, so the view was not all it could have been.
+ a large marble, - nothing.

FTF. Gee Onslow Fisherman! When you said that you were "slowly" getting your mobility back I didn't envisage you putting out caches like this one! Or did you send Mrs OF to place this one?

21-Mar-10
Certainly a great view from this location, quiet lake today but I would imagine it is popular during the holidays.
Thanks
