Enjoyed a short walk up to this cache. Not under a rock this time but quickly found and in good condition. Great day out with Hal2929 finding lots of Onslow fisherman's caches up this way. Would of liked to travel onto too Serpentine but the day was not long enough. And I know the road must deteriorate sometime.
Amazing views

I shifted my snail shell to Roxburgh yesterday for a few days to enable me to locate and sign off a few caches up in thar hills.
It was very obvious where it should have been so I replaced the cache.
Cheers for the cache.

I was invited to Millers Flat for the weekend to wallpaper some feature walls in a new house. With two thirds of the work done on Saturday and 2 nights accommodation paid for, I decided to drive into the hills before tea at the pub.
Decided to park at the road and walk the 200m in. Cache quickly found. There was a white Pajero type vehicle following me around, don't think he was caching though.

Well 2y 358 late but Ian and I are finally finishing what we started when we had a bit of a miss hape cause we got side tracked and headed for serpentine church and got stuck. But this time a bit older and wiser we are here to get the caches we planned to get. This is 1 of the ones we intended to get on that I'll fainted day. This was an easy find on to the next one. TFTC
A quick find on the way towards Styx via Lake Onslow this afternoon. Drove up the 4WD side track and parked close to the cache - there was pretty well only one place it could be. All in good condition. Signed log, TFTC.
Missed this one when the weather threatened to turn to custard. Made the return in the early morning with the sun reflecting off the fog still hanging around in the river valley. Beautiful. This is where caching leads us. Took the right road this time and parked the pony at the corner. Found the cache only after looking at the right place at the right angle. Luckily I can slip through the wires easily as I don't think the fence would stay upright if I tried to jump it. Something has tried to push it over in several places and I don't think it's the wind?!?!? Those iron standards look a bit wobbly. Found the pill can and avast! no bag. Read some of the logs and the snafu over who was FTF on the two logslips, an easy thing to miss when the trail beckons on a limit time frame. SL with the WM_ , rebagged the goods with a new minigrip and return to hide lid side in. Wind just starting to pick up and still blue skies. TFTC Jim, all is well.
We weren't riding to the hounds... but since DoC says this is a hunting block we went hunting... http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/things-to-do/hunting/where-to-hunt/otago/central-otago-and-the-remarkables-hunting/where-to-hunt/manorburn/

Quick find, the fence had seen better days, not sure if cattle or snow had pushed this over.
I, too walked up the track; however on returning to my car I discovered I had lsft my camera behind - so I drove up the track, too! .
Another lovely Central Otago view. TFTC.

Looks like DOC has been here before me. I walked up the 4x4 track to the cache site ... I should have driven as the going was fine.
Found with geo sister and brother in law. What a stunning 360 degree view!! TFTC
Just had to look at that sign in the paddock! Arrgh! hate the pun, but you got to laugh. TFTC
Not sure what we expecting here but a really quiet lonely spot with great views. TFTC
No wormy tales from grader drivers today,no sigthings of penelopes but a very dry road and no trouble finding the cache LOL cheers
Track nice and dry now but lots of ruts caused by those who drove it when it wasn't. That you Moneydork??
Nice easy drive into the cache, although it was slightly squishy under foot (and tyre). Stopped and chatted with the grader drivers who told us a tale about finding an 8 inch long worm here. That is pretty impressive! Cheers Gav [6655]
Passed a grader driver on the way to this cache and he told us about an 8 inch long worm that he found whilst grading the road.
Eeeeew.

We decided it was wise to walk up the 4WD track. A quick easy find as the cache was visible on approach. We covered it after replacement. TFTC

Found 17/4/10.Bit of a trek to this one but able to drive to itCertainly unlikely to be here but for geocaching.TFTC
FTF. Took the Jimny up the 4WD track and after finding the cache walked back to it and saw the view beyond- sun shining down on the fog on the lake with enough of the lake visible to reflect the sun. Thought that it doesn't get much better than this.
All was revealed when we arrived, a bit different to what I had imagined. No sightings of Penelope K today but plenty of tussocks!
