This morning Granny and I had a plan to continue with seeking out caches with the off-road attribute for our monthly challenge. It turned out to be a fun day and with lots of various caches in lots of places. We got in a few extras while we were passing as well and even found a couple of ftfs along the way. We got to have a morning tea/ breakfast at an event and met some great cachers. There is some really pretty countryside around this area. We signed the logs and replaced the caches as we found them. Thanks for the caches and the hides. If you are seeing this please check out, GCARTY0, see what is planned for October 2025. There is an importance in placing will attends to events. Thanks for supporting geocaching in Australia. ITS A PARTY EVENT!

gold1313 I found your cache Gunalda Hights on 22/4/2024, 3:10PM. This is my find 6590 and find # 15 today. Found a geotrail to GZ. Once there it was a matter of searching in the undergrowth. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Hi there gold1313, we found your cache Gunalda Hights today. Were camping at Gootchie Creek for a few days with a caravanning group from RV Homebase, and have taken the opportunity to duck out and find a few caches while we are here. Wow! The undergrowth here is definitely problematic. We tried from three directions and the best one was the first one we tried. Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache near where our GPS said we should be looking. Cache Condition: Good. Regards Ian & Penny (Found and logged using Cachly).
Drove up the hill. Great clear day you can see for miles.. As you can see, the undergrowth has clearly taken over here.. good luck to the next geo hunter.
TFTC. On our way back from a weekend in Noosa. With a break in the rain we were able to detour up to this location to take in the views from the high point. Went in the hard way only to find a better track out. That is always the way.. everything in good order.
This was a good one to find and my favourite cache container too. We parked at the top and picked up the recent finders trail down and around to a likely place where the cache was spotted well hidden in there. Log signed and replaced as found. Thanks gold1313 for placing this one.
The things you do to gain another smiley for the day. Against better judgment we tackled the long grass armed with our walking sticks for hopeful protection against any legless critters. We sort of followed the previous geocacher who had mapped out a trail through the jungle. All good in the end. SL. TNLN TFTC
Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
Well that was an experience for sure!
Talk about ripping your way through the 'jungle' but we found it!
Lucky I had my safety thongs & shorts on or I would have been well & truly screwed!
Quickly found, now that we've left a geotrail it should be an easy find ... for the next week or so!
Made our mark & replaced as found.

One of my daughters who lives in Hervey Bay was getting an award today at school, so I made the trip from Beaudesert to Hervey Bay and back again in a day. Thankfully there's still a couple of caches between there that I hadn't gotten yet to break the long drive up.
895 kilometres in one day is a lot of driving! This was cache 32 of 33
Wow! This is some series heights! Driving up the road it just kept getting higher and higher and higher. I can see why they put radio repeaters up here, you can see for miles and miles. Next finder it might pay to bring a machete or a lighter and some fuel. That was some thick vegetation. Was so thick that once I found the ammo can, i was able to rest it on the vines without it falling over whilst signing the log.
Placed the ammo can back where was located and made my way out of the bushes. Back down the steepest road in history
Thanks for the cache **gold1313**

On our way to Maryborough for a few days geocaching. A lovely drive up the hill to see some amazing views across the valley and it wasn't long before I had the cache in hand. TFTC gold1313
Wow !! an unloved cache (more than 12 months since last found) . A bit of smoke around from the recent bush fires obscured the view a little. The towers seemed to play havoc with my phone GPS but we eventually located the slightly overgrown cache. Many thanks gold1313 for placing a cache here. A Fav from us.

Tremendous views from the top.
The drive to the top was narrow and a bit tricky passing another vehicle on the way down.
Grass is getting long and the lantana is healthy.
Once at GZ, the cache was soon in hand. The log was signed and returned to the cache and the cache replaced exactly as found.
All is good with this cache.

Away for a few days in the Hervey Bay area, mostly mtbing, but sneaking in a few caches too. I was now in the geomobile and making my way home - on a very circuitous scenic caching route.
Well that is quite the view. Well worth the effort. Worth a favourite point for the location methinks. [^]

Wow !!
This is a damn steep and narrow little road
And some of the houses up here are perched precariously on the edge of the hillside [:o]
Dunno how that caravan got dragged up here to someone's driveway ??
Must have used a tractor
At the top of the hill,
did I say at the top of the hill ??
Oh sorry !!
I'm repeating meself,

I enjoyed ...
... if that is the correct phrase ...
... another battle with the long grass and lantana to reach GZ
TFTC and some speccy views of the ants running along the highway below !! [:o]

Travelling around Australia and currently housesitting in Curra, Queensland.
Today is Mr FelixII's birthday and a plan was hatched to have lunch at the Theebine Hotel. But of course what's a birthday without a cache or 2.
A day of walking in wet grass and slippery tracks after the overnight rain, exploring a new area to us. Just what we love about Geocaching.
A short stop and your cache was found, log signed and we were on our way.

I drive fairly regularly between Brisbane and Bundaberg, but almost every time I drive it with no time to spare for a casual, or more involved "stop on the side of the road". Accordingly, these caches on the Gunalda Pass have taunted me for a long long time.
Today though I was on my own, and had a little time to spare. Knowing that, my plan was to hit the road. And especially to get up here finally. The car trundled up the road without drama, and the find was also without any drama. The views though, awesome!
Thanks for placing this cache, gold1313. Found in good condition.

I know this area very well my family home is on the top of the hill to the south. On our way home from Brisbane with Geohubby. Easy find. Thanks.
7th for the trip and again the 3 bolted (geolze and 2 lads). As they ventured deeper into the bush the lads dropped like flies or rather spiders ...tiny spiders. Geolze continued whilst geobron swiped in to take the honors. TFTC
It was a bit of a daunting walk in thongs through the long grass, but the cache was found easily enough by following the geocache super-highway!

Found at 10.28 hrs. Headed off on a day of geocaching around the Gunalda Area. I have seen many caches popup at different times and it looks like a nice area to explore. With smoko and lunch packed we were off. This was our sixth for the day.
Always wanted to drive up here and have a look. Great views and a closer look at the BOM Mt Kanigan Radar Site.

In the area for the Gunalda Cacheup with Austrees. We tried for the Gunalda Pass Rd, but again my GPS was playing up. So, knowing this was here, decided to go for a drive.
Great view from the top. The drive is not for the faint hearted.
Another instance of caching taking us somewhere we not ordinarily go.

WOW what a spot. In the Gunalda area for an event and came up here to check out this cache. An easy find, but a great view and now I know where the Gympie weather radar is. I did not know it looked like a giant golfball on a tee! Check it out.
Went and checked the cache to replace pen and found all ok.Best entrence is from edge of main road not tower turn off,Too many weeds that way.
Got every prickle in that bush And followed a couple of wrong tracks. Eventually found the right tree. Awesome views up here.
On the way to Bundaberg from the Sunshine Coast, J suggested we have a look up this big hill. Sounds like a great idea especially as there's as couple of caches in he vicinity!
What a great view! It really is quite high up here above the tiny highway down below. J checked out the aerials at the repeater station lookout while I took the most difficult way to gz through very long grass, lantana, cobbler's pegs and every other prickly weed "native" to the area. Found the tree and ammo box safely hidden below.
Took compass watch which will be really handy I'm sure and left a top & DM sticker.
#773 @ 1115h.
Found a much easier way out to the road. Some weed control in this area would be really beneficial for cache hunters.
Thanks for showing us a new spot along the highway and a great view to break up the drive.

Off on another Fun Geo Bush Adventure with my Geo Buddy, MinkosDes, along the Bruce highway today.
Wow......I love it up here ! What amazing views !
Well, we had just enough time to grab the cache and race it back to the Geo Ute as the heavens started to open up upon us and down came the rain wiping out all the views for a while.
I wasn't leaving till we had a good look from up here. Nice surprise to find a Keyring TB in the cache. Love finding TB's and helping them on their way around the World.
So we spent a bit of time in the car signing the log and popping in MinkosDes Bouncy Ball TB while we waited for the skies to clear.
Once the rain had stopped we got out of the Geo Ute and had a good look around. The views were amazing. Spotted a curious kangaroo as well.
Popped the cache back in it's hidey hole and we were off again.

Fairy Mother and I were out on another of our Geo:adventures of Fairy Mothers territory, the bush, when we came across this cache.
The view from up near this cache was just amazing. But, just as we pulled up the rain we had been watching finally caught up and we made a dash for the cache then took it back to the car to inspect and do the dead.
Upon opening we were surprised to find the TB ‘Necron11 Time Traveller’ (http://coord.info/TB3ZT6G) which we chucked in my geo:kit and swapped over into the cache the TB ‘Jump around the World’ (http://coord.info/TB2R0JF).
Once the rain passed we returned the cache and just took a moment to enjoy the awesome views!

Just the most amazing views from up here!! Well worth the detour off the highway for this one [^] . Found after geoson went exploring through the lantana. Word of advice though, check thoroughly for scrub ticks after your adventure. Geoson came out with three of the little blighters on him, thankfully only one had attached. Needless to say that all three were quickly dispatched [^] Ticks aside, well worth the effort for this one . TFTC gold1313 TNLN SL

A short detour off the highway and I was soon at the top and ready to find GZ, or so I thought. Looking at where the needle was pointing I scratched my head. Onwards I went into the undergrowth hacking a path to GZ where I found the cache well covered.
After returning to the geomobile I parked nearby and enjoyed the views as the sun set. Great spot! A favourite from me.

I have had this cache on my to do list ever since it was published and I had followed the original searchers efforts to locate the cache with the incorrect coordinated.
To day I targeted this cache on the way from Brisbane to Bundaberg.
We drove up the hill and admired the views all round us. At the top I started to drive down the road and realised that I wouldn't be able to park close to the cache and then had to reverse back up the hill as there was another car coming the opposite direction. After parking at the towers I walked back down the road and then encountered a waist high barrier of weeds, grass and vines. Undaunted, I headed through it to the obvious hiding spot and soon located the cache. I'm glad I had the right coordinates for this one. I wouldn't have wanted to hit some of the other scrub around here.
Thanks for the opportunity to visit this spot.

Great spot enjoyed the views. Feel a bit paranoid about ticks when I saw two suspiciously tick looking insects at the cache site. Took nothing left nothing. Cache in food nick. Thanks. Views nearly made it a fav.
Though I first heard of this wonderful lookout nearly 40 years ago, somehow I never got around to coming to having a look at the view. What a pity I left it so long!
