Quick and easy find.
Cache is in good condition. Found it exposed so residents a little better.

Definitely no water here now. Was hoping to have lunch by the water edge. Not to be, but found the cache and picked up TB, thanks.
Just ducked out of Griffith to have a little drive and take in some sights and also grab a cache. This one was a straight forward find after making my way to the gz and soon had my name added to the log book. Thanks malleegirl for the cache and for showing me this area.
I was wondering why there was a cache in the middle of seemingly nowhere. Then I read the description. Very interesting. I was tempted to climb a tree for a better view but was wearing a dress. Haha. Caught a glimpse of the water from the top of the rise though.
Thanks.
Thanks.
A long weekend brings with it a weekend of camping and caching. fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a loop from Goulburn out to Naranderra, Griffith, Condoblin and back home so I could pick up the last few counties out that way.
Heading from Griffith to Condoblin today. Quick find here today.....a bit ironic that there was water inside. Emptied it out the best we could.

21,687. Found with minniek during our October Long Weekend Outback Adventure.
Day 3 of our October Long Weekend Outback NSW trip. After packing up camp we headed off for more caches. This was the next on the list for me. After the fun drive in we made a quick find. We found it slightly amusing that a cache called 'Where once was water' was wet with some water inside the container !

Great little spot. The log book is wet and needs replacing, didn't have a spare on me... TFTC
Caching in the area we found this one on the way.
Cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

I had a bit of time to kill this morning before I can start the job I came here for.
I made the drive out from Griffith and found the cache straight away, No searching required I suspect it wasnt in position.
I have placed next to the obvious landmark within a metre of where I found it.
I noticed that to spite the area being in drought I had some mud sticking to the tyres as I drove down the final approach.
I have some theories as to how the local area had become so wet in recent days but thats all...
Quite strange how damp the earth is..
Thanks for the cache.

This was a pretty big diversion in my way to set up camp in Hillston, but I doubt I will be coming this way again. Nice hide and location.
My last find in the Griffith area, because I had to return to camp to prepare for my journey's next leg. This was an easy find. TFTC.
Had a long three days of caching with a total of 2054 km done! Enjoyed every minute of it despite some dissapointments as well. Most caches I found were really nice and in good condition, thanks to all the CO for putting them out there! Trip Kiama-down the Hume to Albury/Wodonga-Along the Murray to Cobram-back to NSW and via Hay to Ivanhoe=back down to Griffith-Temora-Yass and home.

It was fun driving down the wet road. TaurusSix got nearly sideways twice. Cache was found in good order.
Adelaide trip September 2015. I spend five days driving to Adelaide taking some more remote routes across the river land area and exploring new places along the way. Day 1. Today was spent traveling and caching from Canberra to near Balranald. I stuck mostly to roadside caches until I headed off the main route to visit Yanco and Griffith. Not much to see out this way today, but a nice drive and a good reason to go the back way.
Thanks.

Yah. Finally found the right road. After coming at it from the south and finding a few dead ends I did the sensible thing and came at it from town. Nice hide on a great morning.
While I have been occasionally involved with Barren Box Swamp for many years with my work up until retirement, I have never been to this extreme northern end of the Swamp (now called Storage), so this cache has always been a" must do" one day. Having made some spare time today, this was that day and cache was easily found after cruising through one of my old work project areas called the Benerembah Irrigation District just south of the Swamp. So thanks malleechick - your cache brought back many memories - mostly good.
[:(!] After helping the geoson doing a bit of gardening I decide that I had a couple of hours to spare, what better way of filling in those idle hours and to do a bit of caching, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes, after signing the log I decided to push on down the dirt track, luckily I made it though without to much drama, I only had a 2WD.

The cache was in poor condition and all contents were soaking wet.
I'm disabling this one in the short term to allow me to replace it with a better container and new goodies.

we took a slight detour on our way to Cobar to grab this cache. Was lots of water in the lake, and the cache was a quick find for us today. Thanks.
Went to find it on the geo bike, GPS refused to work, rode back to griffo, missus convinced me to have another go this arvo in the rex, found it no worries. I was so close the first time too! Oh well, another one off the list. TFTC.
Took a sticker, left old Garden City Couriers pen and green squishy creature. Apparently the swamp had more water years ago!
Plenty of water in the wetlands today - thank you for showing us this interesting place.
ITS GREAT TO COME BACK TO THIS AREA AFTER SO LONG. I SPENT A LARGE AMOUNT OF MY APPRENTICESHIP AT TABBITA FEEDLOT. GREAT VIEWS. TFTC
On our way home thought might go for a cache love the view thought we were in the middle of nowhere left:stickers TFTC
Found by Greg 1500H. What an out of the way place! I am still amazed at the cache sites people find. TNLN TFTC.
I am very fortunate to be able to visit Australia once a year for work and cache along the way. I really enjoyed these finds and seeing Oz like no ordinary visitor would be able to do. 83 total finds this trip covering 2300+ total klms. I always thought if I took the road to nowhere, I would arrive somewhere!...? ....And find a cachethere! TFTC
Found, very much in the middle of nowhere. In fact, has to be the middlest of nowhere cache I have seen so far.
Found this one just as the sun was going down. Did not see any swamp. Left wind up skeleton. Thnks. Pixieb.
1191 Found by baby&Mrs gopher as number 8 for the weekend trip out west at 1745.Arrived just on dark to find this one by torchlight. All that could be seen was the shadow of the line of sand dunes that surround the lakes. SL visited coins. Tnx aggysaunt
The weekend came round, and I had time for a drive, so I headed over to see the sights of Griffith. It turned out that I managed to be *FTF* on all 3 new caches in the area, but what was even better was checking out some new views of the area not so far from where I live.
I have heard plenty about Barren Box after living in the area for so long, but I've never had call to come and see it... Until today.
Thanks for the excuse to see the local sights,
Cheers,
Murf.
