Nice hide. The log is mouldy and damp though. And the pen doesn't work, so couldn't update the log.
I had ruled this one out another time for not enough time / being too dangerous- wrong shoes, creek high etc, etc... So today knowing the terrain and watching both previous and impending weather, I thought I'd zoom off and grab this while I had the chance. After a whole day of housework, and one hour to spare, I could just squeeze this in. I parked close and walked in, and found it very quickly- although it is hidden very well... Just that tell tale sign that cachers recognise. The log book was sodden, so I made what I think looks vaguely like my name in ballpoint, but could equally be the faded hint of ancient tattoo on wrinkled skin. Replaced as was (TNLN) and squelched back over the rocks to the relative dryness of the path.
Greetings from Sunny Whyalla! While out for a morning run, decided to try this one. On the way my shoulder tested the theory that two objects cannot occupy the exact same space at the exact same time - I swear the tree jumped out as I ran past! Anyway, I got to GZ and decided the location was too wet and slippery for my running shoes, so ad to leave this one as a DNF

I skipped this cache on my first pass of this cache as I was running out of time and it required me to leave my bike and trapse through the muddy banks, but on my return I spied two girls heading towards the cache , I called out to them "are you looking for something" as new cachers they weren't sure what to say so I spelled it out and said "the cache" . They seemed to have made it to GZ easily so I propped up my bike and headed out to join them. After a short search I spotted it hidden somewhere that stood out to me but to the novice it was overlooked. They thanked me for the help and I continued the ride back. It's great to meet new cachers in the field, so was nice to meet Karyn and friend. They did spot the syringe in the area, but it's not close to the cache, and is not a reason to archive. Geocachers need to be Syringe Aware at all caches everywhere. Thanks

I had a quick ride on the first day of the year. Lucky for me there was no hangover which made it quite an easy bike ride. Cache was found as expected and therefore I had a pencil in my pocket to sign the soggy logbook.
Thanks and cheers

Find #1649
Apologies for the late log as I'm just trying to clear the backlog! Was heading to a friend's cup day BBQ north of the river so I stuck the bike on the train and headed to Clifton Hill station. Had a very pleasant bike ride west form here and this was my first of 5 finds in total. Parked the bike nearby and proceeded on foot. Took a while to orientate myself but then the cache was in hand. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a few trackables. Thanks for the cache Grant61.

TFTC! Log book was a little soggy bit otherwise a nice apt with calming water running through
Ahh that took a while with my GPS bouncing all over the place. A stated before, log needed changing. Great spot though. TFTC
Located the cache and enjoyed the views from this little nook in Clifton Hill.
Almost got muggled by the walkers out for a lunchtime job, however all was good in the end.
At the GZ, a little shuffling, and then presto box was opened.
Unfortunately the log is unusable and needs urgent maintenance.
I know that the floods have not got this high, so that's not a reason, but definitely needs some cache love.
Thanks anyway - hopefully a new log and some new SWAG will get this one tickety-boo again very soon.

Took a few minutes to figure out where the pics were indicating
Great location a little muddy couldn't sign the log book because it was so wet

I really didn't think there'd been that much rain lately, but this creek seems to be saying otherwise! Running high and swift, but enough dry ground to make it GZ quite safely and find the neat little hide thanks to the very useful clues. Great little spot here - I love how we've kept these bits of wilderness in the midst of the inner-middle city.

Find 1422 at 17:08. I was out caching with 2poons today and we were on a mission to clear out the remaining caches around Yarra Bend Park that had been left over from previous runs. There were a few long walks to get to some of the caches, but it was a great day out and about. All in all we managed to find 13 caches today and this was find number 11.
I have to say this one took a little while longer to find than I would have liked... even with the spoiler images. I eventually stumbled across the hide as we were pondering the idea of giving up the search. I also found a wasp nest about a metre away from GZ so future finders may like to be wary of that. Wasps seem to be about the only thing that didn't make it onto the elaborate warnings signage... what is the world coming to?! Thanks for the cache, Grant61!

As I discovered on arriving here this was definitely not a cache to attempt at night. Will have to come back another day.
Definitely the grossest cache yet. In desperate need of drying out. Could be a nice place, but not today.. Good story now though tftc
Sent Jimmytherat in after this one as had been raining all day! A bit slippery! GPS shows on wrong side of creek so a bit of searching before we realised. This is a really nice track although at times under water. Very wet so Jimmytherat put new log paper in plastic bag. TFTC
Cache container interior very wet. Put in some dry log paper in a plastic food bag which should last a while.
TFTC Grant61. Second find, on a cool overcast day in the middle of summer. With Noelle04. See maintenance note.
Awesome cache, log book wet and needs replacing. Love this trail by the river. Out on the scooter with my boy, great night!
Out for an after work cache run until dark with sharkiefan today. Picked up a few multis and mostly trads and surprisingly considering it was Friday arvo the traffic was pretty good and we managed to find parking exactly where we wanted to on all but one cache. With phones loaded with searches avoiding each others finds we set off.
Parked where we thought would be a good spot not on the main road and it turned out terrible (because we could have parked less than 50m away) but ended up being a nice walk to the cache so as not to have to use my non existent rock climbing skills to get to the cache. Pen just worked on the log book, ink will probably be soaked in and totally smudged by now anyway. It was a nice spot though. Took a quick photo of the fridge magnet and headed back to the car.
Thanks Grant61 for the cache, the hunt and the fun.

Managed to avoid the muggles on a busy afternoon. Is still soaking wet, but rewarding find. Thanks for the great hide!
Found this one quickly thanks to the photo clues! The walk across was a bit marshy. The cache container was soaked and the log very soggy Probably needs replacing. Thanks for the cache
Stop 2 of 3 on my afternoon walk. Managed to get to the cache GZ unharmed. I survived both "silent death" i.e. cyclists at high speed (is too much to ask to use a bell!) and other natural dangers!. Found a large Blue Tongue basking on a rock nearby, he quickly retreated to safety when he saw me coming. Found the cache after a brief search of the area. The contents were still very wet. Didn't bother signing the very damp and slimy log.
Thanks Grant61 for a great cache.
Thanks Grant61 for a great cache.
Still far too wet. Stayed awhile hoping to dry it. Need to be checked and logbook replaced.
Very wet found at nighttime. Totally saturated. Prolly needs to be relocated somwhere that doesnt flood. TFTC
Lovely spot. The thing I love about travelling with a bike is being able to see places like this. Log book is saturated. Couldn't get my ink to stick. There's my travel bike on the footpath
Good find, needs maintenance, everything inside is very damp, no use signing the log.
nice spot, cool hide... nasty cache...
unfortunately the cache is not just wet, logbook is just a wet lump...

Found with 3Spec and MrShifty, sent MrShifty in to retrieve as there apearred to be a wasp nest in the area
Wet through and through but signed a make shift log sheet , moved on a tb that has been here a while also. Found after a short search, a bit of a wet walk walk to the gz with the recent rains, TFTC Grant61.
Over in Melbourne visiting relatives and managed to find time for a little bit of caching.
Had trouble getting a good fix here but found eventually by looking in the obvious spots.
Log was very damp and barely usable.
Cache could do with a good dose of maintanence
Thanks for the cache Grant61

Cache is wet.
Great hide, but it needs a little love to fix it up.
It would be a shame to lose this one. It's a great hiding spot. Reminds me of the ones near Ballarat.

Great hide.
Unfortunately the cache is still wet, and logbook cannot be written in.
Would have liked to have taken the Spiderman TB, but its soaking wet.

Even using spoilers no luck. Washed away or muffled? And yes gps didn't match spoiler photo
Did not find this one. My gps indicated mid stream. Now that I looked at the photos it is obvious we did not look hard enough. Very soggy underfoot when we were there. A couple of slips in the mud deterred us from a more thorough look - next time though...
Once again after I directed us to the correct area to make the find I was pipped at the post by Sarabot who located the cache and basked in the glory of her find. Attempted to find Creek Walk 2 but unfortunately had to cancel the search due to bad weather but will return at a later date.
Nice little hiding spot, and a good indicator of the high water mark! Luckily jammalees left the temporary paper, even that is becoming a little damp from the drenched log book though, TFTC
Found after a bit of scrambling around. Dropped off a TB and swapped a truck for a couple of things. Also left a couple of sheets of waterproof paper for an interim log sheet as the existing one is completely sodden. TFTC.
Hard to believe that the creek can get this high... but the logbook is completely soaked. I left a couple of sheets of waterproof paper as an interim measure however the existing logbook should be removed and dried as it is getting mouldy...
We had spent most of the day at the Salami Festival enjoying tasting all the different samples of salami, then headed out to find some of the nearby caches.
Thanks again Grant61 for another cache,
Regards The Coffee's.

Found cache 1 couldn't find cache 2 or 3. Live really close to the cache so no problems getting there. TFTC Grant61. Probably going to have another try to find 2 and 3. Cache 1 was REALLY wet.....
Very nice spot. As the picture shows, we were not able to sign the log book, because it was soaken wet.
TFTC

Found it after the other cash on queens birthday holiday. Also needs maintanance, logbook totally wet, impossible to sign.
Quick find after a short walk this could be a real nice spot but a lot of rubbish spoils it still nice hide TFTC
Parking in a nearby street we walked down towards GZ. Following the GPS we soon made the find.
TFTC.

Found @ 5:19am, find # 2212
After the 3am WWFM event I hung around the area to find a few more caches, this was one of them.
I made my way to GZ after working out where I needed to be, had a bit of a look around and noticed a likely hide and on closer inspection I was so signing the logbook.
Thanks to Grant61 for this cache and all the caching fun.

Today I was met with a spare Sunday, having done all of my homework for this weekend on the Saturday. Dad was free too, which only meant one thing. The question was: where to go? I decided to head up North and do a sweep as best I could across the Northcote/Brunswick area. Very minimal DNFs and a lot of new areas discovered meant a fun day was had in an area I have visited many times. This find was the 21st of 23 finds.
This was probably my favourite spot found today while out caching. Very pretty and nice and muddy
Hide took a few minutes to locate, but got it eventually. Clue did help.
Thanks Grant61
PS, sorry for such a late log (writing this on 1/9/13) but I guess its better late than never!

Thought I had to jump a fence to get to the right path for this one. Turns out I didn't and ended up re-enacting a scene from Far Cry 3 sans bullets, but luckily the cyclists didn't notice as I made my way down the cliff. Nice spot for a cache.
stopped on the way to work in Preston nice walk in the dark had a hard time with gps under the trees took some time to find gz once there nice easy find thanks
