Nice spot so hopefully it can return soon.

Gone I fear.

@13:39. I was out caching with Burge, Sando33716 and Erebus3R83 today and this was our one and only DNF for the day. Burge had actually found this one previously so we were confident that we looked in the right spot but it seems that the container has gone as we could find no trace of it today. The string of maintenance logs suggests it might be time for a replacement.

25-Sep-13
Contents/lid gone.

18-Aug-13
The lid and contents are missing - only the box remains

18-Aug-13
As the previous cacher said, lid and contents are missing. I had a look for them under the bridge, to no avail

10-Jun-13
Maintenance definitely required. No lid, no log.

10-Jun-13
The lid on the cache has come off along with all its contents. Otherwise a good location.

On a night run with Happy Chappies......geez it was cold!!!

Our first find for the night but it was a bit disappointing as the lid and the contents of the cache was missing. Took a photo for proof Smile

Off on a night-run with cycling_guy tonight. Haven't done this for a while, so making the most of the long weekend, despite the rather chilly evening...

After belting down the freeway this was the first stop on our tour of Clifton Hill, Thornbury and Northcote. I'd done the previous cache here many a years ago, so assumed a hide in a similar location. Only to be proved wrong when cycling_guy found it in a much less difficult to access location. The only problem was, as previously mentioned, the missing lid, and now the missing additional eclipse. The only thing we could locate were some old sodden papers on the ground below. So we took a photo as there really wasn't anything we could sign and leave behind.

TFTC.

14-Apr-13
Found this cache, it does need maintenance. The lid has fallen off and the log book is missing. We attached an eclipse mint tin to the magnet, and placed some paper inside tin for a temporary log. The mints tin is inside the original cache, without the lid. Great hide, though, we hope it gets fixed soon. Thanks Grant61.

14-Apr-13
Found it the second time we looked. Seems someone had an accident with this one. No lid, no log, no goodies except for paper clips.

14-Apr-13
No lid, no log, no contents except paper clips. Has someone dropped it in the drink?

07-Apr-13
Found while out on a bike ride / caching afternoon. We were aiming for a cache further down the trail but made this grab on the way. Lots n lots of muggles around today. An easy enough find of which I made the grab for the team.

07-Apr-13
Out for a caching by bike run just for a change. It's a nice afternoon for a ride - or so a lot of muggles think!!! Ali found the cache. It's a big small cache.

07-Apr-13
MMelb and GMelb were after a 'unloved' cache (for the spread the love challenge) nearby and this one was on the way. MMelb climbed all over the bridge. Eventually we found the cache, avoiding muggles out for a ride. When we looked we noticed who the previous finders were, on on todays date. Hmmmm .... too much of a co-incidence. Other unloved hunters on the track and ahead of us. Thanks Grant61

21-Feb-13
The rules of my day:
--Find 23 caches. (This number is symbolic to me.)
--Walking and public transport only.
--You have from the minute you wake up, until midnight.
With that rush of blood to the head, I set off at 9:15am from the north-east suburbs to tackle some caches in the Fairfield, Heidelberg and Clifton Hill areas.

Disappointing! My only DNF for the day, if you don't count one I deliberately left alone due to very high muggle activity. This find was probably too clever for my weakening mindbody, and mark my words, I shall return to defeat this one. Smile

We found the cache pretty quickly, but it was a good hiding place. Smile

19-Jan-13
I have to admit that I did have to use the spoiler picture after a long time spent looking and it still took me 10 mins to find it. It was hidden in such a tricky (and very clever) spot and I was surprised how generous the cache was even though it was considered small. Now I know why so many people would go past it and miss it. Smile

I was in the middle of finding some Bingo game caches and an infestation of children made searching a no no so I walked the 250m to this cache hoping for a comfortable find. Upon arrival I had a good idea whereto look but only found the cache once I changed my point of view. A surprisingly large cache for this location so I wished I had brought along some TBs to drop.
Moved away from GZ to open the cache and write my log before carefully replacing the cache and heading back for my Bingo finds.
Thanks Grant61, a very pretty spot.

Out for a caching run with ProBleMatiKal and OnWheels. Searching around Fairfield, Clifton Hill, Abbotsford and Fitzroy. Great weather, laughs and a couple of coldies made for a great day.
Last find for the day and great to finally see a decent sized cache. Far too many micros around here. TFTC.

Another great cache along a regular route of mine. A muggle was awkwardly standing atop this prize for near on 15 minutes making for a longer than expected expedition. When she finally moved Sarah and I snapped it up in front of a lovely sunset! TFTC

Found on my return cycle from laps on the Kew Boulevard.
This cache is huge! I didn't read the description and was looking for a little eclipsy thingy when I found this monster! Luckily didn't drop it in my attempt to retrieve it.
A good reason to explore this area by bike. Thanks and cheers!

French Toast and coffee in bed for brekky, home-made gifts, sunshine... add a bike ride and a few caches and you've got a pretty good Father's Day.

With a few hours of daylight to play with before dinner, I figured I had enough time to chase clues for a couple more of the CCT multis.

This bridge, being right near the junction of the Merri and the Yarra, seemed the perfect choice for the first cache of the day. Once located, it took a little while for the foot and bicycle traffic to peter out so I could make the grab and move away to sign the log... and longer to get an opportunity to return it.

# 738. The first cache as we headed through the area on our mountain bikes. This bridge was the first of many for the afternoon too. Great views from here and to my surprise an easy find for me although I was terrified I might drop it. Got my caching companion to return it to its hiding spot. TNLN Thanks Grant61.

Went in the morning and searched off the bridge mostly but then went home and revised the hints. Then went back and gave it another crack and found it! Smile it was alot further "along" then the spoiler picture so I made sure that it was returned to that spot

We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out!
We resorted to the hint (a novel way of presentation that we like), but still could find the container.

Thanks for the hunt anyway Grant61 .

Didnt have too much trouble with this cache, think i got quite lucky. I was examined the card printer when a muggle walked past and he gave me a rather strange look and laughed. TFTC!

24-Nov-11
cache is definitely still there. found it yesterday. we did find the bag of mud with the sticker on it too, thats not the cache - that actually has "main creek trail" written on it from what i could see, not "merri creek cache". anyway, after re-reading the description, we deicided to change position and found it. pay attention to the bit about it being "visible from a certain approach", and to "find it first, then go for it" helps with two people to mark the spot. dropped off a kombi travelbug for someone to take

20-Nov-11
We found the ziplock bag full of mud with ilovedrwho's sticker on it but that was all we could find. Perhaps the cache is MIA?

04-Nov-11
Great hide. Loads of muggles

01-Nov-11
hi, i am not sure how to log this cache. i was looking for awhile. then i found a plastic snaplock bag on the ground. nothing in it. but it had texta writing on it saying. 'merri river cache' i placed my sticker on it. and placed it on the bridge. im not sure if it has been muggled or if it was old rubbish from the cache.[:x]

Finished work at lunchtime and decided to grab a few caches on the way home. Grabbed quickly after walking back and forth a few times avoiding muggles. Took troll, left a few items including an angry bird keyring. Thanks Grant61 for the cache. I love looking out over the water from these bridges.

We looked in all the obvious places, then looked at the "spoiler" which at first gave us nothing more than what we already suspected.

however, after zippi took an unorthodox method of hunting the cache down, she found it instantly...

Found this devious hide with Irontoad. Took us a while to locate it - but then it was an "of course" moment when Irontoad found it. It was quite busy here today but glad we didn't go there in the peak of summer. Took purse and left skateboarding Elmo to enjoy himself here.

Not my day: two caches I was revisiting after using the home computer to look at the spoiler pictures, and I found neither of them! I shall have to try this one again; obviously my geosense was offline today.

BTW love the location. Really good idea for a cache, so long as you enjoy muggle watching, of course. They really do come from all directions here.

Next, of course, to return and FIND THE CACHE. Sad

Edit: for grammar.

Based on the clue and cache description we took the time to spot the cache from the approach to the bridge, and then made an easy find. TNLN - T4TC.
