Unfortunately, I can't find a decent location nearby that is not likely to be mugged by some of the less desirable regular visitors to this spot so am archiving.
Checked this morning and it's been muggled unfortunately. Will try to get back on line soon.
Couldn't find this time. So many rock overhangs? Will return with better footwear next time.
This was my first cache..did not find it either. we found an iphone and spoke to owners sist
er..
Is the cache
still there.

Found by my gf RaRa. Fairly easy find. Not sure if muggle has found it prior as it was out in the open. Concealed a bit better upon leaving. RaRa left a Gay Pride Badge from our Mardi Gras adventure!
The iphone pointed us down into dangerous territory but with a bit of persistence we found this

Took TB "Toffy" for adventure to Melbourne! (a trackable registered on GeoKrety.org - a new website for us!)
Great spot! Followed hint and instructions and easily found cache.
Seeing parts of Manly we wouldn't have found by just getting off the ferry and going to the beach!!
Great way to see stuff off the beaten track!!

4th CCC with Crankys. What a gem of a location. Is the "roo" Australia's first big thing?
To everyone doing this cache in the future my advice is read the instructions and follow them closely. That way you'll avoid the needles, spiders and other gross stuff to be found around the perifery of this location. Fabulous breeze on a really really hot day. Thanks for the cache Little Ravens.
By the time I reached GZ, taking the difficult path it started to get dark and the GPS was going around in circles (and off cliffs). Scratched around without any luck and gave up before falling in the dark! .. Hopefully I will get a chance to return on another Sydney visit.
First attempt at Geocaching, Family thoroughly enjoyed stumbling through the scrub. The view was breathtaking from up there. Not a big fan of spiders though, and was unable to find cache due to a 4 month old Baby and a 4 yr old boy having had enough of the day!
Will definitely go back and have another look, maybe a few less distractions next time me thinks. Still it was a great day out either way.

Approach is less than recommended in thongs, haha...
Minor tree cover had the GPS playing about a bit, ended up making a quick find after checking the clue.
Thanks muchly, had no idea this existed!

gps was sending me round in circles on the cliff face, made it harder than it needed to be. nearly gave up but sat down, read the clues again and had one last look ingnoring gps. Newly weds TB not in cache!!!!
View was worth coming - but estimated cache spot was full of spiders - hate them XD so I preferred to move on ...
So we finally read the clue and found it on Christmas day.
What a present. Plus I like the view and would probably come back more often,
also when there are not that many creepy muggles around.

Damn - Sonny-in-law got there ahead of us again! Got it on our second attempt - important to read and follow the clues! TFTC [^]
The kids went out searching and couldn't find it so I went again with them and even following the clues, we did not find. Thanks anyway for having us visit this nice area. We just took a break from time at the beach to visit.
Found this with steveishere whilst taking a quick break from Carols. This was what got me into Geocaching.
While on a dinner break from working at the carols in the park I was able to seek over and find this little guy.
Thanks for the view and the contents safe and dry.

Na een leuke klauterpartij hebben we hem vrij snel kunnen vinden. Our last cache in Australia, after one month back to Holland. TFTC. 16.10. team Lykele.
888 - 12 for today. Found on 21/11/10 5:20 PM
A quick and easy find, due to it being exposed. Have hidden it a bit better. TNSLLN

Nice quick find...once we read an processed the hint! TNLNSL. Great view from the Roo's private lookout
Thought this one was going to be straightforward but required a little more searching than expected. TNLN and TFTC
this is my first cache ( im 11 )

In Manly on a cold rainy sunday. Brought Stu and Maya up to the Kangaroo to see this seceret spot and help find this cache.
I have been to this place before when there was another cache here.
Dropped off the Newlyweds TB, first stop in Australia after flying in from Sweden.

After much messing around trying to understand the hint, I finally looked straight at it at 4:20pm. TNLN TFTC
Fantastic area!!! I agree with (steptoe) regarding coordinates, I used them and easy grab

I must admit I got a little lucky with this one. My muggle in training was carrying my gizmo and I kept asking how close are we? As we were getting close to the Roo I noticed what looked like a good place for a cache and yes there it was. My muggle friend didn't believe me when I said I got it. As we were hiking up I realized that I had been here before. I quess the other cache was archived. Thanks for the new hide. This area needs a cache. Nice view from the Roo. TFTC
It was supposed to be our 2nd cache in Manly... but we haven't found it.
We search almost 1hour, checked more than 20 rocks, and still got nothing.
The coords. were pointing about 5mt below the statue (to the beach) to some rocks with some difficulty to reach.
We took a picture of the possible location that had an empty container. I'll send you later.
Anyway, it was a nice view from there. Now we get back to Portugal...

Found at 17:30 under better light conditions, nowhere near as far out from the Roo as I first attempted to search; totally forgot about the terrain rating and was looking in places far above 2. On the up side, I also found some sunglasses while looking amongst that higher than 2 terrain area
I believe this is my 75th cache find!

Amongst the fading light, renamed lanes, altered approach vector and beer bottles everywhere, I was unlikely to find it. And sadly, did not.
I did, however, find the statue, and the accompanying views from the large rock nearby. What a view. And what happened to that poor roo's ears?!

Interesting sculpture, I like the log where someone describes it as looking more like a meerkat than a kangaroo. Amazing that it has lasted this long.
On arriving at the sculpture we split up and TLM Junior took the lower level search while I stayed up high. He soon found it, all I found was a wonderful collection of syringes.

Took a bit of searching, then I read the logs, and found that Gaztek had found at S33 47.611 E151 17.070. - which was pretty close to the point I finally found it.
Well worth the visit to see the roo and the view, thanks.
Swapped A Poppy Geocoin (wants to visit memorials) for the Going home soccerball TB.
Took the easy walk back to the car via K'roo Rd.

After a very nice boat trip, i had only time to search one cache. I decided to find this one. It was not easy.
Thanks for the cache from germany

First cache in sometime, there was another cache here a while back so this one was found easily. TFTC TNLN cheers
Had the area found quickly but in the fading light it took some finding. Not normally worried about where I put my hand but with some of the used medical supplies lying around I was careful.
Not to worry though, once the cache was found I looked around and the area is clean. Good hide, must have walked past it half a dozen time before spotting a tell tale sign. Great view and took some time to enjoy it from besides the sculpture.

Our first cache in the Sydney area almost had to give up because we had to get the ferry back to the city and then get on to the airport to go back home. I think our reluctance to reach into anywhere because of some potentially not too friendly locals lurking (and a syringe nearby [8]) made it difficult! Thanks a lot.
Found with my visiting mate Sniffme. Nice local Cache. But I think the Kangaroo looks more like a meercat than a roo!
Found with Muzbot after walking past the butchers in manly and buying a very taste sausage on a roll. He sells them all day saturday and sunday and they are mighty tasty.
Capellaman- Found after second go, using Gazeks co-ords, 100th cache, at last, pity there is so much rubish around this spot. TNLN SL TFTC.
As previously logged, the co-ordinates are slightly off I think, found with the help of the clue.

We homed in on this one from a few directions. That's a nice way of saying we walked around in circles for a while! The Roo is brilliant - kind of funny - wonder if he ever had ears? Great view and great park. Anyway we couldn't really get where the GPS was leading us so we followed the clue and it, along with a stick for poking, got us there. Our reading was a little different at GZ. We had S33 47.611 E151 17.070. TN L Ribbert TB (Happy travels, little buddy!) SL TFTC
We didn't actually take nothing. Mrs Gaztek took home a little souvenir on both shoes that might mean the cache could be renamed to Poo with a View. Walk with care!
Cheers..........Gaztek

There are lots of the things mentioned in the additional hints... I did not find it under any one of them...
It looks like the cache has gone, I looked for quite some time in all the likely spot around GZ, but no luck.
I gave up after finding several syringes and hypodermic needles, so no going thru the leaf litter. I removed the offending items (very carefully using plastic bag) but there are probably more. So if you are going to look for this one please be aware of the danger, this spot looks to be used for drinking parties as well!

Couldn't find at the new location. We gave a pretty good search but it doesn't seem to be at the new coordinates. I double-checked we weren't looking at the old coordinates, and looked all over around the statue. Nothing to be found. Maybe the coords are off, it's hidden REALLY well now, or we just were missing something stupid?
On the other hand, we found out where all the teenagers go to drink! Yikes! Just kidding - this is a beautiful spot and I can't believe this statue, overlook, and pathway are so neglected.

It's a sad thing that a Moggle can ruin a good site - hope you find another appropriate spot for it - shame for others not to be able to share the site - EllemTribe - TFTC
Found the coordinates as indicated on the web site. Unable to find the cache. Read the logs upon returning to the hotel to find that it had been moved. May get a chance to revisit before leaving Manley. Visiting from another island on the east coast of Canada.
Pati's first geocache and she found it herself! This was our second attempt and Pati already started to doubt that these geocaches really exist. Also, this is my first geocache in Australia. Hopefully the fist of many more to come. TFTC
An interesting one for us - got to cache site & came across and angry "artist" muggle, as we proceed to quietly search for the cache she reached into the cache site, swore and threw the cache onto the rocks, then moved to another rock - we logged the cache not sure if we should return it to its original position - we did & left. On returning to the car we had left a pen at the site so we sent the geo kids to run back - unfortunately the angry muggle had placed the cache on the rocks for all to see - Geo kids asked her not to leave it out as it is part of a "game" we play. She refused. We then made the decision to move the cache in order to keep it safe and in play. It now lives 22 geo kid steps on opposite side of "roo" from original position.
New position way points - UTM 56H E 341186 N 6259426 clue under rock ledge - if unable to be found we are happy to go back and return it to its original position (although the angry muggle appears to frequent the area)
Great location, unfortunately we were not able to appreciate the area like we should have - no TB's were in the cache

Had to head down this way for so stopped to grab a cache. having seen this pop up yesterday I figured it might as well be the one. Rather glad I approached from the top which eased the terrain somewhat. Found fairly quickly, left 2 TBs and grabbed a TB and coin. Thanks Little Ravers.
I thought I would have heaps of time to claim this FTF so went & had a shower before leaving the house.
Just goes to show that cleanliness does not always bring it's own rewards.
Congrats to Peter&Megs for their first FTF & thanks for bringing me to see a bit of history, and sculpture that I wouldn't have known about otherwise.
