We dropped in on this cache today while on a loop of the Brinabella,s. Easy find and a great spot. I only found that it is archived when we got home. Thanks anyway Noikmeister. Cheers

30-Mar-13
We found the cache and then read the previous comment about the snake. Didn't see any snake but there is only about 50% of the cache intact.
We found the bottom half of the sistema and one piece of log paper with two teams on it. We put it back as best as could and covered with rocks to hide it better but it looks like someone had fiddled around in there as there were sticks everywhere. We would have replaced the whole cache if we had a new one with us.

great stop and we visited the centre as well.
Many thanks for the hide.

30-Mar-13
Muggled twice equals archived. I'll pick up the remnants next time I am passing.

02-Mar-13
One word......SNAKE! This one was missing last time we tried, so today I was hoping to turn this into a smiley. Arrived and headed straight to the GZ to find a large snake guarding the area. We both retreated quickly.....me to my car, and the snake slithered into the rocks where my GPS was telling me the cache is hidden. I'll wait another month or 6 before I try this one again. I really don't like those fellows!

#657 Our Cache of the day - TFTC

20-Feb-13
Found OK as we left. Bit hard to be stealthy retrieving the cache - found it by feel. Maybe I was on the wrong side. Nobody around this afternoon anyway. Thanks.

28-Jan-13
Confirmed that cache was missing. Replaced with a larger container in a slightly different position. Coordinates remain the same. Hint adjusted to reflect the change. Please use stealth when retrieving.

31-Dec-12
Taking offline until I can check on it

Many thanks to noikmeister,

Better lucknext time, Maybe!

This was our first stop on our way into Tidbinbilla today. I haven't been here for a couple of years, and since I began geocaching, this part of Canberra has been calling my name. I was with my geoteen and a friend of his who we've recently introduced to geocaching. We all jumped out of the car and searched for about 10 mins, zeroing in where the GPS said 1m then spread out to a 6 metre radius. The ground moved with lizards, and we enjoyed watching them peeking out from rocks, then running away again. We didn't find the cache this time, but as we've only just begun on the treasure trove of caches in this area, we'll be back whenever I can score a free day.

10-Nov-12
We spent about ten minutes scrabling through the rocks looking for this one, but came up emptyhanded. Spotted a likely hiding place (given the plethora of obvious coverings in the spot), but the container was AWOL Sad

10-Nov-12
We are visiting from Victoria... BC, Canada, and were out for a day of touring with enoyd, dvixen and family. We enjoyed our time in the reserve, and even saw a platypus! But, after checking in the obvious and not so obvious spots, we had to call a dnf on this one.

08-Oct-12
[blue]A day that was likely to rain made me sad until the sun came out and things were a bit brighter. I was introducing my friend to geocaching.

This was a quick find on our way into Tidbinbilla. What a treasure trove! The geokids picked up a few swappables which we replaced on our way out with some gifts from the Tidbinbilla gift shop. TFTC.

25-Aug-12
Picked up some new goodies at the shop and restocked this cache.

04-Aug-12
After an eventful day throughout the park, R was keen to drop the travel slug off at a cache,
so we have let the travel slug loose and look forward to seeing his adventures.

2nd find of today.

08-Jul-12
Our first time to the area, having moved to Canberra recently. I think that after today we will invest in an annual pass - what a perfect area! Found the cache easily as it was pretty exposed. Sadly, there was nothing left in it (except for the log book). We had meant to buy some bits from the visitor's centre and put some bits in on the way out, but tired grumpy kids made it impossible.

01-Jul-12
Quick easy find on the way in. TFTC

Good day... found cache on a tour of Australia. Geotourist from Canada. Thank you for the cache.

09-Apr-12
We were here at high muggle evacuation time. Trying to look casual around the entrance. A car stopped on the road nearby which made us a bit nervous. Searched a very likely spot but found nothing. Found it as stealthily as we could in the end. TFTC.

09-Apr-12
A little bit exposed out here with everyone leaving Tidbinbilla for the day. Found a location that looked like it *should* have the cache that didn't. A bit more of a search and the cache was soon located. TFTC.

07-Apr-12
Retired Travelling Gumby stopped by here for a visit.

02-Jan-12
Found this one as the final cache in our Tidbinbilla adventure after the cache event lunch. Thanks to CorvettePete for the direction on which side of the road to go. That is number 5 for the pathtag. I will be back to finish off some more of these caches. Thanks a lot Agent Basil. Took nothing, left nothing and signed log. Nice easy find.

Thanks a lot noikmeister for the cache.

02-Jan-12
The last of the day my #12 during the Tidbinbilla Event Bash and yes there where some bashing involved and as we arrived the a cool break was enjoyed as a refreshing shower just completed , BatGirl found with out GPS so that was impressive, but I will return to do a few more journeys in the reserve, hopefully when its a little cooler.

02-Jan-12
10th and final today at the Tidbinbilla event. Found by ourselves this time. A nice easy find just before it started to rain. Nice idea for a cache. TNLN. Thanks noikmeister![:o)]

02-Jan-12
One last final stop just as we left. Rounding the day to 10 from the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve listing and 12 in all. Not to shabby. Smile

Quick grab and not a muggle in sight

Great views of the ranges from here. Tophodin and I will have to come back and check out the visitors centre when we have more time.

01-Dec-11
After an afternoon photo session at Gibraltar falls I briefly received network coverage and was able to get a list of nearby caches. This one was the closest, however I lost coverage and had to find without description, but was a quick find thankfully.

I forgot to add this visit to my previous log. Silly me.

26-Nov-11
This was a fun one, while I grabbed the treasure jusojara and Mr Roo had to take 'photos' of each other at GZ to distract a number of curious muggles driving by. Job well done and thanks Gents!

This one was a very easy find as it was quite visible. So when I put it back I made sure it wasn't so obvious from the road.

19-Oct-11
After a great lunch spot on our trusty steeds, and a circuit of the road, the easy GX was a positive for the day on out overnight bike tour.

16-Oct-11
Given I had to go to Canberra for a weeklong training course any way, I decided to tack on the weekend too.  To get some caching in of course.  Even though  I had been very busy at work before I left and I hadn't been able to put in my usual amount of preparation a caching trip to Canberra requires.  After a long and successful morning picking up 'biker' caches I was ready for my next adventure.
Pulling up on the side of the road nearby it was a quick and easy hunt to find the cache. I had to nip back to the car for a pen and it was at this point about six cars drove past and I had all the occupants look at me in very odd ways.   I eventually got the cache back safe and sound.  Thanks for the cache norkmeister

15-Oct-11
Wink Great day out with the3Bams. Always enjoy this area .. TFTC..

15-Oct-11
After loosing phone signal and not downloading maps we had to do this one completely GPS blind. Geoson was quick on the hunt and only just lucked out with poppy finding it before him.

Great day out caching with J+J.au.

First find today on our visit to Tidbinbilla. An enjoyable bushwalk, picnic and of course caching or 2. TFTC

01-Oct-11
A quick find for us in light drizzle that has dogged the morning. We didn't go into the reserve because of this, yet got to see lots of kangaroo and emu when we did a lap of the entry road. Thanks norkmeister.

24-Sep-11
Our first cache in the Canberra area. Beautiful park! TFTC

24-Sep-11
Saw it on the GPS going in and decided to get it coming out. Introduced a new player to the game. Picked up the geocoin too.

Thx for the cache. Logged -TNGD

03-Sep-11
After visiting Tidbinbilla about half a dozen times, this was the first time we felt certain that we wouldn't be muggled. Sure enough, several cars headed out while we loitered around the entrance sign pretending to be touristy. Quick sign and outta there.

22-Jul-11
Found with csfamily junior in july school holidays, forgot to log. Sorry.

03-Jul-11
Found while out on a caching run through the Tidbinbilla area with fitzy_1965 (and finally logging it !!).

Great area Tidbinbilla - I just love coming out this way.

Thanks for the Cache !

25-Jun-11
It's really amazing how many caches there are in this reserve. This one was easier than most (no mountain to climb!) but i had to feign great interest in surrounding plantlife to avoid suspicion from nearby muggle ... who now that i think of it was acting pretty suspiciously herself. hmm ...

Left cache critter. TFTC!

12-Jun-11
On our way back from the Tracking Station we decided to stop here, having seen it on the map prior to leaving (there isn't mobile coverage here). An easy find. TFTC!

30-May-11
We were on our way to the space tracking station, so decided to grab a couple of quick caches on the way. This one presented no problems, with the container in the obvious spot. It would have been a nice day to visit the nature reserve, but we had other destinations to get to.

Thanks Norkmeister.

14-May-11
Easy one at the front.

14-May-11
nice easy one. thanks

03-May-11
2nd Day around Canberra checking out the sights and picking up a few caches along the way. This was a quick find and sign. Thanks for the hunt.

28-Apr-11
Nice easy find after a great time at Tidbinbilla with all the tribe. Geokid Abbey quickly swooped on the cache and log signed we headed off to the Space Centre..

Easy find. TFTC. Smile

19-Apr-11
Loved finding this one with a whole bunch of the geokid's friends as we headed to Tidbinbilla for the day. I wouldn't be surprised if there aren't a few geocaching converts from that lot. Wasn't so keen on finding that there is now an entrance fee to a park that used to be free. Truly, when Australian citizens have to pay for the privilege of using their own natural resources, then there is something wrong. Anyway, enough grumbling. TFTC

16-Apr-11
Next time............

14-Apr-11
Spent about 20 minutes looking for this, unsuccessfully, last time we were here but recall that some landscaping development was going on so cache might have been disturbed. No such problem this time and cache was to hand in less than 60 seconds. TFTC

20-Mar-11
Thanks for this one Norkmeister. Nice quick find on the way back home.

13-Mar-11
Headed towards Tidbinbilla nature reserve to find some more caches. When we arrived at GZ there was a Kangaroo posing at the large sign which was cool. We found this one quite easily and was a good start to our Tidbinbilla cache adventure today. TFTC

06-Mar-11
Nice hide near the road.

19-Feb-11
First of three caches in a quick trip to Tidbinbilla on what was a bit of a damp day. TFTC

12-Feb-11
Found, after discovering my pass to tidbinbilla had expired. (GRR! after trying to explain to the ..person at the visitors centre that no, i never recieved any email or letter about it expiring! Grr! Pretty sure it wasnt due to expire until the end of the month! HMMPH!)

Ahem. (Not angry about it at all. Razz)

Thought i'd do the "Oh no! The car has umm..Broken down!" trick. It worked. No one expected a thing, or raised an eye lid.

Nice easy find on the way to the Space Complex. Found by geoson - TNLNSL. TFTC!

03-Jan-11
Day at the space centre and thought we'd look for a couple of caches. A pencil on the ground gave away the final location.

15-Dec-10
3215 - A couple of caches found today out this way...

The fourth of four finds for today - parked just near GZ and walked over for a quick find - and no muggles or security in sight ! - thanks norkmeister !

Ellen found this one quickly. In: toy car. Out: Geocoin on route to Northern Germany. We'll bring it back to Sweden with us!

27-Sep-10
Found quickly as our newly indoctrinated muggle friends became geocache mad and kept asking us to stop and find another cache (ah yes, the power of satellites and tupperware!). Passed Vic Bushfire Appeal GC through for a visit and nearly landed the Silver Geocachemobile on top of GZ except perhaps for the damage the rocks may have done to the undercarriage. Left Lord of the Caches GC for the next traveller. TFTC

26-Sep-10
We grabbed it on the way back, just after coming out of the park. We had found two other caches previously and were getting pretty hungry. We parked the car at the side of the road and someone actually stopped and asked us whether we needed any help while we were trying to get a 3G connection on our iPhone; good to know such helpful people are still around. TFTC.
