Thanks Skullracing for maintaining this cache. This one could be my Highest altitude cache. I like the reason behind the name.
Called in the way past today to check on the container and we found it is starting to perish from the harsh weather, so we replaced it with our tried and tested 90mm pipe with a thermos inside it.
I will whizz up there in a few weeks to have a check on this one when the seasonal gates reopen as I have a couple to check on that are behind the gates.
Overnight visit to Mt Hotham working with the old man. Family came along for the ride. Actually, our first time up here - drive up - is nothing short of amazing. No luck here despite a good look. One for next visit perhaps. Thanks anyway
Despite a really good hunt around, and up and down, and all over, we didn't find your cache today. Nup... not a thing Nil. Nought. Nothing. Could be we have cache blindness. Could be we just need some more experience finding them... Yes... more practice! Great to learn about the pygmies anyway hope I didn't disturb their rocks too much. Thanks for the challenge anyway burramys madmys ,will place on the watch list and return one day maybe.
A quick and easy find today, our second after the Mt Smythe RMB. Haven't seen a container like that used for geocaching before. Cache a little damp,. TFTC#102
So this one is not accessible in snow season? As far as I can tell it is buried under snow.

We will be upon the mountain doing some general cache maintenance in a couple of weeks,so we will call in on this one for a look and replace if necessary.
We suck at rocks. Didn’t look for long as we were psyched out when we arrived. Was supposed to be out 1,500th. On to get our milestone
This seems to be a find or DNF in about equal numbers. I was in the latter. I climbed a snow gum today but could not find a container next to a road in a rock pile. Oh well - one for next time. And at least a nice ecological theme here.

Found it while on holiday on Dinner Plain. It was a nice sunny day in January and we had a lovely lunch break to enjoy the view. Beautiful place for a cache and lovely story on the sign.
Not wanting to travel too far, and looking to find some caches, it became a case of locating caches within close proximity to the roads where possible, as well as a final cache near the summit of Mount Hotham.
The biggest issue for us today was the lack of planning on our behalf to bring insect repellant with us, although with the shear size and quantity of insects, I'm not sure anything other than a bug net would have kept them at bay.
Cache was not found with Crzymelly, TeamPQS & JustWanderingAbout
I wondered what these were when we passed through the township previously, but now I know. Fortunately no Pygmy Possums were spotted or harmed during our search at GZ. However with four of us searching, and scrambling the rocks, no cache could be found. Maybe we will come back for a second look before we leave.

More likely to be found at the end of the ski season if searching in winter as there will be less snow

I think I chose the wrong season to come looking for this one. But we found the sign and loved reading about these lovely creatures! An awesome thing to share, thanks burramys, madmys and skullracing for your cache at the love tunnel!
Quick easy find on our way up to Bright for a weekend exploring, took the opportunity to grab this one before it gets covered by snow . Took a tractable tftc
Hooray for the mountain pygmy possums! ️left a trackable that we picked up in Coober Pedy. All the way from Coober Pedy to hibernate in the alpine of Victoria. From hot to cold. Hoping someone takes this one before it’s covered in 4 metres of snow! ️
Driving back to Melbourne from camping at JB Plain. Very thick fog and rain. I was worried about parking the car alongside the road because of the poor visibility. While searching, I spoke with several passing pedestrians, who I think were worried about my sanity! Took me longer than it should have, but found it eventually. Interesting story about the "Tunnel of love"
Day trip to mount Hotham with paw paw paradise and sinistral and found this
Day trip to Mount Hotham with mango parade and Sinistral! Super cool find!
My first solo road trip in 20 years. I decided to find a cache or two on my way to Bright. No luck on this one, after my third or fourth March fly bite. I’ll come back another day
Hi all, Found by Annabel, Momo and Sara. Added a purple bow. Fun to find at the Tunnel of Love, a favourite sign on the drive into the village.
No. They have removed the yellow sign of the possums humping. How rude.
Sure I found this about 10 years and probably wanted to write a long story about my decades long involvement in Pygmy possum research and promptly forgot.
Have just dead up an adventure lab on burramys at Kosciusko.
Something about the view as well.
Obviously going to award a favourite.

Blues and pinks
Mauves and whites
The sky is beautiful tonight
As the sun starts to set
Over the views of My Hotham
The Welder and I scramble up the tunnel of love
For a little geo-love
A perfect date
A perfect mate
My partner in all things
After a road tripping kind a day
Warm spring sunshine
And a touch of snow
A new cache was signed
A new altitude was reached
What a high!
Thanks for the cache.

"Boy meets girl".
[Magic ensues...]
That's how it was for Heymissjo and I many moons ago, lol.
This evening, in fading light, the aforementioned boy and girl were scampering over rocks trying to find a cache.
Eventually, there was a 'happily ever after' ending to this story.
We like it when that happens.
Thanks to burramys madmys and skullracing for placing and maintaining this cache

Thank you for bringing attention to this site and its importance. It took a few steps up to locate but not enough to tackle the Boulder scree protecting the pigmy possums. TFTC TNLN
The only time Brad has ever been through Mt Hotham when there has not been mist, rain and low cloud has been while riding his bicycle in a couple of the 3 Peaks Challenges. Given the distance still to go and the pain in the legs from the climb from Harrietville, he was not in the mood for sightseeing. Again today there was fog, or low cloud and rain. There was time to stop briefly to grab this one.

Brad&Janet are on a two week trip from Adelaide to the Victorian High Country. While this is not primarily a caching trip there are a few specific targets along the way. Including a challenging remote area unloved puzzle cache placed in 2014 and never previously found.
Omeo will be the initial base. Brad has ridden his bike through the high plains region a couple of times while doing the Three Peaks Challenge, and is looking looking forward to exploring by 4WD this time.
On the way home the plan is to visit Yackandandah and the Nine Mile Creek Historic area and also Mansfield and the surrounding region. Then spend some days in and around Bendigo and Clunes so Janet and her sister can research a few of their ancestors who lived there in the mid 1800s. Brad may take the opportunity to visit the Ballarat Geotour while the research is happening.

Will be back soon enough as the heavy rain and cold broke our spirits this time. We will return on a sunny beautiful day.
Found the site but mountain goat husband and myself were unable to locate. Will save for another time

The heights of Hotham, to the depths of the Ovens at Bright - it was all downhill for us today!!
We searched in vain for this one yesterday. Apart from being tired at the time, it turns out the satelliates had us a few meters off!
With MANY THANKS to a couple of previous finders, it was our first find of the day, as we headed homeward.
Great to see the log double bagged.
Thanks burramys madmys for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Not quite the summer day we are used to down south, it was fascinating to be shrouded in a gently moving fog as we endeavoured to put a few smiley tokens on our map around Hotham.
Despite an extensive search we came away empty handed!

A quick stop here to grab this cache for a challenge. While M sat in the car reading past logs looking for hints, I started searching. Needless to say, an iPhone is not the most reliable when it comes to GPS co-ordinates. Eventually M found something that helped me narrow down my search and the cache was soon in hand!

We stopped by this lovely cache on our way from Metung to Beechworth today. Coincidentally, we were watching Hard Quiz on the ABC 2 nights ago, and one of the topics was the Mountain Pygmy Possum. I was doing something else at the same time, but I did hear Tom the host talk about the "Tunnel of Love" or as he called it, the "Root Canal" hahahaha. Anyway, I didn't hear where it was so was pleasantly surprised to see this cache pop up on our route through Mt Hotham.
We noted pinewater's log and the T1.5, put 1.5 & 2 together and came up with the hide.
Thanks skullracing for maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. Also great to get this high altitude find!!

Found with my partner pretty quickly. Short bike ride to GZ and located the cache within 5 min. I would say the size is not accurate as I would consider a film canister to be “small” so was looking for something a bit smaller. This is a little bigger, sistema container. 1.5 terrain threw us off a little too. Just have a squiz around and you’ll find it easy. TNLN TFTC!
We had headed up to Dinner Plain to do some walking and to take in the views. It really was a spectacular day and it seemed that there were views on every corner! Afterwards we stopped to look for a few caches along the way. I wandered down to GZ and with my GPS suggesting I was off the edge of a cliff, I put it away and thought about where I would hide the cache. I was wrong with my guess, but I did catch sight of the actual cache so I wasn't too far off. A few trackables were visited today. TFTC!
Out for a day trip on the first day of school holidays after iso. Kids having a ball being out and about with their friends
Tftc. Found this today exploring Mount Hotham with my friend. Beautiful day out today.
Our first find in Mount hotham of our holiday in Dinner Plain. It was a joint effort with a kids doing the leg work. I was tricked by the 1.5 terrain rating. We searched higher and found it quite easily. You do need to be a little bit nimble to do this cache. we managed to find a pen between the four of us. I usually have two pens in my bag but today I had none.Tftc!
Departing Bright and for the first time heading east - all the way today! Well, we've been to the top of the road, taken photos in the snow, a walk around 'town', and now a visit to lover's lane. For possums. Sporting my Pygmy Possum shirt from Melbourne Mega's I felt kinship. Saw none of the little guys on the prowl, being noon and all that, but did nab the cache. Hope they appreciate the publicity of their little secret spot [:o)]
Thanks burramys madmys (Cache Guardian = Skullracing) for entertaining me at this location.

Chasing a couple of high elevation caches on my trip home to Shepparton from Corryong via Benambra. Saw this one was close to the road as it was now dark and cold. Park, short climb and quickly had the cache in hand. What a great little story. TFTC

DNF on our way back from Dinner Plains to Bright. We stopped by and found the sign - but everything nearby was covered with thick snow... so thought it might be under snow now; so left with a DNF.
Geodad got out and made the find while the rest of us admired the views. Thanks to the COs for the hide.
Found while passing along the great Alpine Way. The cache Doesn’t involve pulling the rock face to pieces did take a while to find but we found it eventually
Heading over the Great Alpine Road from Bright, we stopped at the top to find this cache, a bit cool up here. TFTC
I think this cache is very poorly placed. I am not going to dig around in a tunnel built specifically for an endangered species just for a cache. If the cache isn’t in the rocks forming the the tunnel, then please add a comment to the description!
Thank you for placing the cache an giving these very interesting informations about the Lovetunnel and the pygmy possums. We wonder how crowded it must be in the high season...
Nothing like a trip to the “Tunnel of love”. A quick and easy find on a beautiful day in the country.

Since moving from New Zealand in 2016 I have been enjoying the area, exploring and finding caches.
So far I’ve knocked off 4 of the states. VIC, SA, NSW and A.C.T all multiple times.
No two areas are the same here and almost every place I go to is stunning. The beauty of caching is that it takes you to so many places you would never usually find.
Thank you to all the cachers out there for hiding and maintaining their caches. Especially to those who put so much effort into creating unique and fun hides.
I enjoy finding well maintained caches in fun and unique cache containers. No one likes finding a mint tin – but a find is a find after all.
I’m currently working on a Project-GC challenge to get the average word count on my logs over 200 words.
So please ignore the rest of this log as it is just nonsense and song lyrics.
Well she was an American girl
Raised on promises
She couldn't help thinkin' that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, and if she had to die
Tryin' she, had one little promise
She was gonna keep
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well, It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could hear the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin' on the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God it's so painful, when
Something that's so close
And still so far out of reach
Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an American girl
Well I'm a-runnin' down the road try'n to loosen my load
I've got seven women on my mind
Four that want to own me, two that want to stone me
One says she's a friend of mine
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels drive you crazy
Lighten up while you still can
Don't even try to understand
Just find a place to make your stand, and take it easy
Well, I'm a standin' on a corner in Winslow, Arizona
Such a fine sight to see
It's a girl, my Lord, in a flat-bed Ford
Slowin' down to take a look at me
Come on, baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
We may lose and we may win, though we will never be here again
So open up I'm climbin' in, so take it easy
Well, I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load
Got a world of trouble on my mind
Lookin' for a lover who won't blow my cover, she's so hard to find
Take it easy, take it easy
Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy
Come on baby, don't say maybe
I gotta know if your sweet love is gonna save me
Oh, we got it easy
We oughta take it easy

Final day of the Gunks/Trailstevo summer expedition. Today we started in Bright before heading up around Mt Hotham then heading home after a tiring weekend. TFTC
Day 3 of 3 on our (Trailstevo & I) little adventure. Heading from Bright up Mt Hotham and around Falls Creek and eventually back home to Melbourne. Due to health reasons today we will be restricted to road side cache only. Has been a wonderful 3 days, we should just top over the 100 cache mark today for the weekend. Would like to say it has been a relaxing time but we. Ohh ache all over.
Called in today and changed wet log book with fresh new one in 2 zip lock bags.
My DNF is not more than that. I plain and simply didn't find it - but I suppose that the cache really is there, somewhere. Maybe I was thinking too much about the lovely *Burramys parvus* and too little about where the hide could be? But I'm happy with that. Great feature - good for the little possums!

Boy Meets Girl has always been one of those 'to pick up' when I'm in Hotham, however when I have been here it's doing a decent hike, and therefore don't get the chance to pick up some of the easier caches.
Today was a cruisey meander through Hotham after a big few days hiking, and quiet enjoyed the story behind this little spot. Just picked up a book on the ecology of Alpine Australia so keen to learn more about the pigmy possum - which Pacman was lucky enough to spot camping!
Thanks Skullracing for keeping this one going for everyone's enjoyment.

Just catching up on some late logging following (apologises) a trip to the Victorian High Country with the Rats and a group of muggles. Thanks for adding to the fun filled week we had as part of our school holidays. I can only imagine what it looks like covered in snow
Thanks
Thanks
Outside of caching the Rats love to go 4WDriving. With this in mind we combined our 2 favourite passions to spend a week exploring the Victorian High Country with some close friends. In a convoy of 7 vehicles we left the black-top at Tom Groggin (NSW) and we didn't see civilisation again for another 7 days when we finally popped out of the bush at Mansfield.
Our adventure saw us traversing the Billy Goats Bluff, The Blue Rag and soaring to the dizzy heights of Mt Stirling, Mt Pinnibar and The Pinnacles with the highlights being the amazing scenery and challenging tracks.
While we didn't stop at every cache, we chose to find this one as it held some significance for us. A rare cache in civilisation.
Thanks
