Despite extensive search on both sides on the stream ( wet feet anyone?? ) I could find nothing. The area seems to have more mud than rocks at the moment, and a lot of vegetation gone. Has the wee cache gone too??
Decided to spend the anniversary of the Chch EQ's caching in Ashvegas - a much cheerier prospect for the day! No luck here tho, the stream has very recently been cleaned and the rocks on the road side of the creek are buried in mud so if this is where the cache is located, it's under mud now. We went round to the other side for a look but no luck there either. Our first of 3DNF's today.
Came to this cache looking for the "Canada Olympuck Geocoin", assuming it got mixed up with the Badlands Geocoin that I found in the "In The Square Tree" Cache that was said to be here. Unfortunately there were no Coins in this cache. So the Olympuck Coin is missing. Anyways, Nice easy cache find. TFTC

Escaped early for a days caching around Ashburton. I'm close to meeting the requirements for the bulk finding elective of the DGSc and needed to go somewhere with lots of unfound caches to get me over the line. Not having found any caches at all in or around Ashburton it was the perfect place to explore for the day. Easily found after waiting about 5 mins for a muggle to move on. Left TB. TFTC.

While traveling in NZ from Japan by a campervan for a month, I visited the cache. Caches make travels much fun. Thank you.
After my Highland Pipe Band finished a day in the local domain, what better way to finish than a cache or two?! TFTC
Being a prepared sort of person, I dropped in a new log book. Double bagged because I have doubts about the environment in wetter seasons. Hopefully the log book stays put, and is in service for a bit longer this time!

The last of the day for us (only 4!) - the Pipe Band competition in the domain & the stinking hot day put pay to our plans. Stopped here for a picnic lunch in the shade of the boundary tree's. Quick find. in a developing area. Cheers.
Very easy find whilst out with rattusbaggus.
Cache is very damp and dirty - and there is not log book, just a piece of paper someone has left in it.

Went for an evening walk while staying in Ashburton, tried 7 caches and three of them were gone. Better luck with this one, a quick find. The cache was a little exposed so I covered it with some more of the surrounding material. Signed log, TFTC!

Badly needs some TLC please.

Another cache to add to our swag as we continue to see how many we can do in a day!
No trouble securing the cache - an easy find.

Found it but OH NO the cache was open strewn on the bank. log book missing took us a few minutes to fun the lid and what we think was the bag. We have stashed it beneath a rock in The cluster of big rocks not sure if that is where it is where it's meant to be but that's the safest place we could find. Left a new bag with a lil bit of pink paper with our names on it.
Headed towards Christchurch today and having a slow and leisurely trip with some sightseeing and a little geocaching thrown in. This cache was next on our hit list. After ogling at the nearby house that was for sale the cache was quickly located after a short search, log signed and cache returned. TFTC.
Found as part of the Gangsters- The Rats, Farmer Frentzen and Big Matt and Shell- as part of our NZ Mega Event Tour 2012.
We expected to find a hostel here but the place was for sale . But the consolation was a cache . TFTC!

Found during 'The Gangsters' trip to New Zealand, being Big Matt, The Rats, steeba and myself.
We were looking to stay at the nearby hostel before realising it no longer exists. A quick find.
Thanks Ca_Kiwis2 for the cache.

Day two of Sully1's and my New Zealand trip from Christchurch to Dunedin.
Today was only as far as Oamaru, and the weather, once it warmed up, was superb.
A couple of heavy showers throughout the day made it feel like home in Victoria.
Thanks Ca Kiwis2

Found with bogonghazy on day 2 of our short assault of the SI, whilst here for NZ Mega. We cached from Christchurch to Oamaru today, and only a few short showers throughout the day, which didn't deter us from continuing on with a numbers run. Thanks to the CO for placing this cache and for bringing us here.
Found this cache as part of the Gangster's Aussie assault on the first NZ Mega with Big Matt, FarmerFrenzten and steeba.
This was suppose to be where we were to stay the night. The nearby establishment was one a hostel and our bed for the night. Alas we got the cache anyway.
Thanks

Our 6206th overall find.
Found on the "Gangsters" NZ Mega 2012 trip with steeba, The Rats and FarmerFrentzen. We were originally going to stay at a backpackers nearby until we realised it was closed.

Very quick find as it was very exposed. Cash container & plastic bag inside are wet, log merely damp. I suspect the hide needs re-thinking, particularly in light of the recent weather.
Thankyou
Found thru a day of Caches before and after the amazing event of "weekend for two"
TFTC
A great little Hide

Ashburton trip: 19 of 21
For a long time I have wanted to plan a caching trip to Ashburton from Christchurch, N!mrod's (awesome) event was the perfect excuse! TFTC (824)

This needs serious maintenance. We found it BUT was very very wet and muddy. Not a good place when it floods. Certainly would not be able to sign with pencil
found it, but it was a bit worse for wear. semi submerged. opened it up and drained the water out. even though the log was soaked i was still able to write up the find. put back but out of water line. tftc.
The people in the house close to the cache were busy gardening, so we had to enjoy the area for much longer than planed. But finally they finished the job - and so did we. TFTC
While we were looking at the different growth in the stream, & how we would cross to where GPS was indicating, found I was actually sitting on the cache !
Last time I looked for this, the stream had recently flooded. Better luck this time, but must be a high-maintenance cache.
Maybe the owner can perform a "Owner Maintenance" log since some kind cacher has "fixed" the problem?
Justanurse in all her wisdom said it was on the other side of stream. So I jumped only for her to look down at her feet and see the cache.
Did wonder what side of stream so with my encouragement theroamingreliever jumped over only to find it was by me all along lol
On arrival, we wondered which side of the stream we needed to be on, but all was well, and the cache was soon found. We put a proper logbook and stash note in it. TFTC
Yep - Same problem, even though there's nothing in it's still worth the vist. TFTC
As 1066 said, cache found but no goodies inside it. left a scrap of paper but needs a look. Little Moose had a great time on the playground and chased the ducks. Cheers
We found the box out in the open, open and empty. Closed up and hid under the rock but needs urgent attention and maybe a new home as it looks like this is a place kids are going to frequent.
I had been down here a few times already in the last couple of days to visit a build nearby. Stopped off for an easy find.
It was a day to spend in Ashburton picking up a few caches.
As BaldEd and I approached this one we both thought we have had a long walk to get this one but in the end we didn't have to.
Cheers for the cache.

Tufty made a quick find of this one before I had a chance to look. I wondered what the big property was next door that is up for sale - old hospital?
Nice hide and not to many muggles about and glad I didn't try and jump over. Thanks for bringing me here, TFTH

3914. A quick easy find. The cache could do with a little attention - all that is in it is a wet log sheet.
Thanks

6th of 8 in the area today. Suprisingly little water in the stream given the weather.
Found the cache with my family as we were driving round the country on holiday. Not much in the cache which was a bit disappointing as the description suggested there would be something worth finding. Still it was easy enough for us to find.
GPS playing silly buggers trying to get my feet wet. Had a closer look and came up with a smiley. Thanks
First cache of the day, and found it before the GPS had started up. Cache was rather soaked being a little close to the brook. Cheers Gav [9712]
TFTC. The cache container was sitting out and open. Added new log paper, reassembled container and placed in what seemed the most likely location.
empty plastic bag and stash note only, so left a new log sheet. wonder where old one is ?
Nice 'n easy, just what we needed on a frosty dat.
TNLN, TFTC, TinkyWinky was there.

Crossed and recrossed the stream for one wet foot but at least the cache was found in the end.
hmmmm.... which side of the stream? Tried both without success. Looks as if GZ would be prone to flooding.
#3 DNF
2nd DNF today, found the spot cache should've been, but looks like it might have been muggled or washed away?
Will watch to see if someone can find it, and try again.

Heading down to Queenstown, from North Is, for a week tramping so picking up a few caches on the way. This always gets me in trouble cause I arrive late at my destination. Beautiful day for drive by caching thou – nice an warm in the car with a chill breeze outside and fantastic views of the snow covered mts. Nice new area and nicely landscaped. TFTC
After going from one side of the stream to the other and back again we found it. TFTC. The log was quite wet.
