We fear this has been muggled.

22-Mar-13
The dear old cache was about to celebrate its third anniversary, so it's disappointing that it appears to be missing. I would have liked to keep the logbook!

Never fear; I'll replace it when I'm next in the area.

22-Mar-13
We were geocaching tonight with dpkcacher. We had previously found this cache but both Geokids were at GZ and this is definitely missing. A shame as it was a good hide. Disappointing.

02-Mar-13
My 2nd DNF for today, I made it up but could not find it anywhere! Muggled?

Didn't manage to find this cache, think we know where it is but no one nimble enough to get it

16-Feb-13
Dropped off TB. Rather than leave it till the end of the day as I have in the past, I did this one at the start so I had the energy to haul myself to it.

15-Feb-13
easy find tftc

15-Feb-13

09-Feb-13

06-Feb-13
Really cute little cache :3

06-Feb-13
probably one of my favourites... got to show how good i was at climbing trees!!
Easy to find once you get in there... reccomend a child or someone really slim to fit in the area.

29-Jan-13
Definitely a little tricker to uncover by yourself but it was an enjoyable one to find Smile i think its a MUST to have some one nimble with you or a partner for this one. TNLN thanks!

28-Jan-13
I could see it, but couldn't reach it. Will use an idea, we spotted in the gallery, for next time.

28-Jan-13
Awesome place. Oh to be a kid again. Geo son thought it was the best cache we have done to date. A favorite for sure. Thanx for bringing us here. The T.B. was nowhere to be seen so hope it is same in someone's hands.

27-Jan-13
In the area with SpookyClams on a pleasant day of caching.
Spotted this from afar and i made the retrieval. Liked this challenge, giving it a favourite. TFTC.

27-Jan-13
Found and signed on the second attempt. We knew where the cache had to be after our first attempt in June, but the climb was too slippery to attempt at that time. After returning in summer it was very dry but still proved challenging since I'm not the fittest person around and my upper body strength is very poor. Nevertheless, with my wife pushing me (literally!), I finally made it up and the log book was signed. Thanks for the cache and the challenge!

27-Jan-13
This was a difficult retrieve, however the oldies managed it with some cunning. Took the TB. TFTC

26-Jan-13
Helped pushing my husband's bottom to help him up with one hand & the other hand holding a 9 months old. Found it & signed the cache Smile TFTC

15-Jan-13
Will return at another time. Was trying to reach the spot by standing on an eski when a resident from a house across the road came out into his driveway and glared at me angrily, and did not leave till I was gone. He must have spotted me from his window.

15-Jan-13
Thanks for this one - geoteen clambered expertly up and down with no trouble thanks for taking us to one of Ballarat's nicest general localities

14-Jan-13

11-Jan-13
We got on our bikes early this morning for a spot of caching. Geokid was the one pushed to the spot. What a great hide. We took a trash pack and left a magnet. Also left a TB. It was a task to remove Geokid! Thanks for the hide. A favorite for Geokid.

01-Jan-13
COOLEST LOCATION EVER!!!!! Thank goodness that I took my nimble, athletic 6 foot 14 year old with me or if never have got it!! Log book is still damp and a bit mouldy so probably needs to be replaced.
Great work. The tilley5 from Adelaide loved it!!

26-Dec-12
Got it Smile

20-Dec-12
This was a really nice spot in the urban jungle. Cach was visible from the ground but oh, how to get it.
A long tool was used for both retrieval and replacement.
Took the time to have a bit of a walk through the park too.

25-Nov-12
The cache is back! Hooray!

Particular thanks to whoever swapped a Crazy Bone into the cache - back in about 1999 there was only one Crazy Bone that I wanted (A42, "Liberty") which through an incredible stroke of fortune was the exact one I found sitting at ground zero! So thank you very much for that, I have stolen it away to place in my childhood treasure trove.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has made the journey into the pirate's cove. I haven't cached properly in a while but it's lovely to get regular notifications letting me know that someone new has made the find! Arrrgh!

23-Nov-12
Logging Find sorry didn't realise a maintenance log wasn't a find.

23-Nov-12
Hello! The cache is finally down for maintenance tonight after 193 successful finds. It will be back up tomorrow in an un-cracked box with a dry logbook - hooray! Thanks to everyone who posted a maintenance log and to everyone who has made the climb into the pirate's cove. See you back again on Sunday!

23-Nov-12
Glad I bought along a monkey man, was no way I was going up there. Great hide.
Cache lid cracked obviously log book has got wet and is still damp, starting to go moldy.
Just a bit of silicone will fix the lid too.

Monkeys required??

04-Nov-12
Before today, my caching activities had sunk to an all time low. I have been way too busy to do any of my desired caching, with exams, preparation for an upcoming trip to China, and all things in between. So, the weekend before my departure, it was a big relief to be able to go out and chase some of my most-wanted caches ever. I have now found 37/40 of the top caches (according to favourite points) in Victoria so I am quite a happy boy Big Grin We started in Lancefield, then worked our way to Ballarat, and then finished the day in Bacchus Marsh. It was probably the biggest day I have had caching for about 6 months! A lot of travel was involved but I picked up the caches that I wanted so I was very happy! This cache here was the 7th of 27 finds today.

I had been fore-warned about this one and the difficulty in getting up, so I was prepared and I came with a ladder and a Dad. Unfortunately, the ladder proved to be ineffective due to balancing issues. Luckily for me, the Dad that I brought along was a useful tool in providing a step up Big Grin. Once I got up the top it was obviously an easy find. The cache is a bit wet inside however that was not too much of an issue. The cracks in the container may be an issue in the future though. I am sure there were some muggles that walked by thinking 'Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Or is it just a nutcase?' but nevertheless, this was a fun find. Thanks for the caching fun JHenseleit Big Grin

Found! Very Happy

06-Oct-12
Would recommend taking an able bodied male or a monkey to retrieve. TFTC
PS log book is too moist to write in.

05-Oct-12
Enjoyed climbing around in this one. Very cool. As per previous logs, the log book is very gross and wet due to the container being slightly cracked and broken. Needs looking at. TFTC.

28-Jul-12
As we were getting closer to GZ we had a suspicion on where this cache might be. A great hiding spot but unfortunately the container isn't waterproof and everything inside is getting quite soggy. The log really needs a few days in front of a fire to warm up! TNLN TFTC

Bit of an easy one for Echo. Wink
Nice views but the log is saturated.

('\(OoO)/') Thanks for the caching fun!

17-Jul-12
I just couldn't get in there by myself. Lone caches who are over 50 should bring a ladder.
Even young fit cachers might find this difficult without a leg up of some sort. It looked interesting and I was sorry I had to leave it for another day.
Thanks JHenseleit

@1335. Once I got to GZ I had to wander around the object to see if ?I could find a way in. Once I had decided on my plan of attack I took a giant leap of faith and grabbed hold .
Struggling against gravity i hauled myself into the jungle. It was not long till I discovered the cache. The log was signed and then I had to figure out how to get out of this place.
Didn't take long to have my feet out of the jungle and back to where I began.
Regards

Love this one, once we had the right tree, don't trust your instincts...lol.
Adnrew made the climb, but I found the cache from the ground. VERY EXPOSED.
So Andrew hid it better.
Awarding a fav point to this one.

Thanks

Number 4 of 15 for the day on a trip up to Ballarat with Julz76 and a couple of geokids. Glad we had the geokids with us - one of them was light enough and agile enough to be lifted into the correct spot! Thanks for a great cache.

09-Apr-12
Could not find this.

25-Mar-12
After a successful Friday evening to start off the “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” with 34 finds on the first day the Saturday was always going to be a day of superhuman effort. It started early with a run heading west and south, only to finish the day and night with a run to the Northwest and North. A great day was had by all because there was some good 4WDing and the weather held out for the day with only one notable shower. A total of 98 caches were collected today, and it shows you how quickly a cache can be located with so many searchers. This cache was one of them. Quasar3671 climbed high to grab this one. Thanks for cache #117.

24-Mar-12
Night 2 of our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Quasar3671 & Trailrunning which seen us collecting a great range of caches over 3 days, and this was one of them.

A tricky hide this one, Quasar3671 was the fit and agile one who was nominated for the retrieval. Nicely hidden.
Many thanks for your effort. TNLN SL

24-Mar-12
One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !

We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.

Our second day of caching and it was to be our biggest day and fullest day too. Into the night caching now and after some dinner and a freshen up back at the accommodation we were back on the road. We parked along the side of the road and approached GZ, with a good idea of where the cache may be. I found the best way up and in and soon had the nice sized cache in hand. Cool spot for a hide, thanks.

24-Mar-12
One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.

I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.

This was a find on our massive Saturday run, which included both day and night caches. Lunch was a picnic in the bush at one or our cache stops. A night caching run was undertaken after a rest and dinner.

A little bit tricky due to it beibg night and climbing, but we got it. TFTC.

A fun one to find. Smile

04-Mar-12
Needs lid or whole container replaced and maybe a ladder!!Wink

04-Mar-12
Sent Mark on the hunt for the pirate's treasure in the urban jungle. More water in the container! The lid is broken and needs replacing - sorry did not have one that size with us. Spread contents out on a towel and dried as best we could. Got rid of a few sodden messes that might have once been cards. SL with Markndee at 4.50pm TN Left: a few coins to add to the pirates treasure chest. TFTC JHenselheit #1003 Think we have earned a coffee now!

04-Mar-12
Thanks for the update on the cache condition. Unfortunately I won't be able to get to the cache for at least a couple of weeks so if you go seeking the cache in the immediate future it seems you'll be likely to find some pure Ballarat rain water to trade with!

04-Mar-12
We found this with friends Harrowang and our little Kathkins. Fortunately Geomark is still agile and solved retrieval difficulties. The Kathkins enjoyed looking at the treasures in the chest during maintenance but we can't recall taking anything or leaving anything which is a bit of a shame after the effort of finding it! Twisted Nevermind, at least we signed the log. TFTC and the chance to stop and notice these lovely old trees.

02-Mar-12
Yeargh, me hearties - found @ 1625, after visiting relatives in Ballarat and while stalling to avoid the Melbourne peak. From the previous logs I had a pretty good idea where I'd be looking, so when I arrived @ GZ I swung into action and was rewarded with a quick find. There is a crack in the lid that has allowed a small amount of water to enter the container, but the log itself seemed dry enough to sign. TNLNSL-TFTC and for the chance to pretend to be a kid again.

09-Feb-12
This was a fun geocache to find! As I am short, I got my taller friend to assist me in finding it. We just missed out on finding a tracker, as someone had been there the same day. I took two pirate coins and a car brooch. These were replaced with two pirate games and a tennis ball.
