Thanks skindo for placing this cache for all of us to enjoy.Trail a bit overgrown near GZ but lovely big tree once you get there.TNLNSL, replaced as found, TFTC
A lovely walk with Maisie in the native bush track. Sure is a large tree. Many thanks.
Found it but mu GPS said it was about 18m off. Easy to spot the biggest tree though, what a beauty! The cache is wet but plenty of swaps CBD Out ️
There is no actual track to the cache, and we did the same as previous logger.
I didn't know what a rivulets was, until this cache.
Log wet inside pill bottle.
Actually whole forest is wet today.

Quick stop off en route from Wellington to Heretaunga on a chilly sunny morning. I missed the track somehow but found it again after traversing the rivulet. I’d recommend walking the trail clockwise! Beautiful spot, and nice hide. TFTC
With (Mr) Davidson Clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap)… On a boy’s weekend roadtrip south.
We motored down the trail taking care to note track markers as you do. These thinned into non existence and then a watercourse stood in our way. Has this reserve changed over time? A quick find on the other side of the muddy ditch. Thanks Skindo and TFTC.

Caching with Squirrel Nutcase and FapnGap for the long weekend . Nice quick find here today cache is in good condition. Thanks for hiding the cache.
Nice quick find after a quick bush bash. Waterproof log replacement unprotected side placed inside pill container.
A nice quick find thanks after a nice wander in the bush.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee tour of the North Island. It was a great weather most of today, except that it was very windy!Today we cruised from Masterton to Whanganui. The fun part was getting an unrepairable side wall flat tyre in Paihiatua, and rolling the tyre down the main street for a repair!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

My fone got a little confused over where I was which confused me and then I didn't want to paddle the stream so I went over there but I didn't trust the mud so we both went over there and bush bashed to GZ. Could have been easier but the find was straight forward! Tftc
Out with the dog and my family to go for a quick afternoon adventure. We explored some places with geocaches nearby that we had never ventured to before.
We let the dog come for a walk with us around this track, and she seemed to love it. Other than the car noise coming from the state highway, this little reserve was quite tranquil and nice. After a bit of confusion about how to get to the geocache, we saw what was being referenced in the clue and knew exactly where to look. It only took a few seconds before I spotted something that looked suspicious and on closer inspection, I was able to find the geocache. TFTC! Thanks for bringing us to this cute place!

After going a little off course we managed to correct ourselves and find the treasure. The orange route markers are a bit deceptive at points. The log book was too damp to sign unfortunately.
We lost the path but fortunately B's trusty GPS had us at the right spot to find. TFTC Skindo!
A nice wee bush wander to break up our journey. The final sidetrack path was on my OSM map but not on the ground, but it was an easy peaceful stroll through the forest following the compass. TFTC skindo!
Now why hadn't I picked up this little treasure before now? It's a beautiful area of bush, and some majestic trees. TFTC Skindo, no 781 from you - really appreciating your work all those years ago
I had never been to this scenic reserve before, despite driving past it many times. It was a lovely place to be on a hot summer day and we enjoyed the bushwalk. The GPS took quite a while to settle under the tree cover and we were forced to check quite a few hint objects before spotting the right one and coming up with the cache. The log was a bit damp but still ok to write on. TFTC
Day three of my road trip from Auckland to Nelson in my newly acquired convertible cachemobile. Finding a few caches along the way. TFTC, Biggles.
Summer Holiday Time yay!
I'm about to spend 3 days tramping through the Tararuas around Mt Holdsworth and today I am just casually making my way there to rendezvous with my friends, naturally using the opportunity to do some Geocaching along the way as I don't get into the Wairarapa very often.
Today I was glad of the lack of people around to make my hunting around Ground Zeros straightforward. My GPS took me to one location, which I searched for a minute or two before then casting my eyes around and spotting a possible location much more in keeping with the Hint, and the cache was then soon in hand. All was fine with the cache itself and the logsheet so once it was signed the whole lot got replaced exactly as found.
Thanks for placing this cache.

What a beautiful spot this is and I loved the peacefulness of the loop trail. Nice break from the road travel! Such gorgeous and stunning trees here! And the giant Fiddleheads.....amaziing! I dropped a trackable here for the next lucky finder.
Walked the full loop with JutyBug, enjoying the absolute quiet, apart from birdsong - what a contrast with the rushing roar of traffic in the background. These unexpected reserves are always a pleasure. TFTC
Just had to do this one as I do like loop walks in the bush they break the journey with a good leg stretch. TFTC
Completed the whole loop - in one way, found the cache and continued on and round till the track met up again. Had a bit of a debated on which was the taler of the two and we must've got it right as cache found at the first choice. The trail provided a bit of adventure with a creek crossing wich was a bit unexpected but no real problem. TFTC # 12,774
It's always great to include a few walks amongst the roadside finds. Thanks for this one .
My favourite cache of the day and I enjoyed the walk in the nature reserve. Cache was easily found. Logbook was damp. Favourite point given for this secret little reserve hiking trail. TFTC.
A big day over in the Wairarapa today, picking up a few A-Z caches and as many 2:2 caches as I could, plus attempting to clear the Planetary Pursuit challenge in one day.
While I was in the area I thought I'd stretch my legs a little bit instead of being cooped up in the car, so headed down the path. Got a little confused at the apex as the GPS wasn't reducing so realised I had to head off the path and went towards the obvious object. The cache was soon found. All good inside. TFTC

I enjoyed the sort walk it was a break from travelling for awhile, great spot for a cache thanks
The path is very overgrown but managed to find our way without too much difficulty. Left the path and headed for the hint object and made a quick find.

#4283. The weather in the past few days has been pretty grotty and I was not sure if I would make it over to the 'rapa this weekend. But by Sunday morning, it didn't seem too bad so packed the geocaching bag and headed over the hill. The aim today was to locate a number of puzzle finals that I have solved over the past year. Any damp or tatty logsheets I have replaced today. Nice to get out of the car and stretch the legs with a walk. Have been past this reserve a lot in the past few years of geocaching but never stopped. So today I headed off along the trails to find the cache. Lovely stand of tall tawa forest and few big podocarps. Headed off the path and soon spied the likely hiding spot. The cache is still OK but added a new plastic bag for the logbook as its a bit damp. Signed and replaced the cache where found. Thanks for the cache Skindo.
After a major road trip of 750km down to Masterton for the Wings Over Wairarapa air show the weather unfortunately caused both days of the show to be cancelled. However the start of the week was to be our "tourist" time to see some of the Wairarapa sights and the weather looked to be improving.
After the ANZAC bridge cache we decided a short (15 minutes promised) walk on a bush track to get this cache would be a pleasant interlude. I would caution future cache hunters that the track is not well marked especially when taking the left hand track direction, once we were deep into the bush reserve a decision had to be made whether to cross the creek as there is no bridge but the GPS indicated we needed to go further into the bush.
After crossing the creek and following what we hoped was the Miller Reserve trail I left Liz on the track at what seemed to be the closest point to the cache and ventured into the bush for 50 to 60 meters. Using the hint the cache wasn't a problem to locate and I then retraced my steps back to my "marker" Liz. We then continued along the track, the orange triangle markers now became more frequent, until the car park area was sighted. The trip around the loop track, including finding the cache, did take a bit longer than the 15 minutes we were led to believe.

Day # 13 in New Zealand on a geocaching holiday-trip covering Thailand, Australia and finally my beloved NZ .
Made it from far and rainy South to the North Island. Today’s sunny and pleasant tour [^] took me further up north from Masterton to beautiful Ohakune [:X], close to Tongariro National Park .
Believe it or not : This is my third visit to this scenic area of the central North Island - but today was the first time I was able to see ‘HIM’: Mount Ruapehu [^].
During my last visits he had shyly hidden behind clouds [B)], mist and rain .
But today I could see him in full beauty [8]. How lucky I am !
Of course there were some cool treasures hidden along the route, that I loved to pick up .
Ended up with 23 finds , including two great earth-caches [^], a challenge and a multi-cache . Cool!
I found this cute box while enjoying the wonderful loop trail . Saw a lot of birds !
Log is a bit dump...
Hey - owners on the way up north - you have cool caches [^] !
A big thanks [:X] to all Owners involved [^] for hiding and maintaining .
Cheers from Germany

This one wasnt on the list to do today but dad had seen it and said we should go for a wonder, pulled into the car park and lost coverage so walked back out a bit to pull up the map, went for a walk talking the left track first, nice area, crossed a stream as the gps packed up on us again, once I found coverage we were back tracking as we had missed the turn off, spotted the cache opened it up reached into my pocket for my brand new stamp from aussie ... huh wheres it gone I brought it with me cause I changed the date, lucky there is a pencil in the cache so signed my name and off we went to find the stamp... turns out when I crossed the stream it must have fallen out of my pocket and into the stream dried it off and as good as new thanks for the placement
Stopped for a cup of coffee while on our way to Waipukurau for a couple of days cycling. A very pleasant forest reserve. TFTC
What a gorgeous reserve we really enjoyed exploring. So many native birds. Crazy how the temperature drops so quickly in the bush as the sun goes down. Thanks for a great cache
Nice walk but not on your own. Easy to get to but I would easily get lost getting back to the car without hubby. I am one of those who should really stay on the track. Tftc
Joined by haydn.seek for a little excursion into the Wairarapa on another beautiful summer day.
We have often intended to do the cache at this reserve, but have been running short of time as we reached here. Today it was definitely planned for.
It was lovely to walk in the bush away from the hurrying traffic. However, we had anticipated somewhat better track maintenance. It was fine in parts but there is evidence of some stock damage. At the stream crossing some of the track edge seems to have dropped away into the stream and a fallen tree is partly blocking access. The find itself was fairly straightforward, but the contents of the cache are wet and manky

it was a fine day and so we set off on a well planned geocaching excursion over to the Wairarapa starting first with coming off the SH at Cliff road and looking for the 2"2 Cliff which we found and then continued along this narrow dusty road to find the next cache on our planned route. After taking a wrong turn we back tracked and from then on we just follow the route and picked up the caches on the way. Many of these caches had water logged logged books and too crumpled to sign so the Datum part of geodatum, found a new piece of paper as temp. log book, except for the Bust stop cache where i was able to put in a new little log book in a new plastic bag.. We then went back out onto the State Highway and continued south to another 2:2 and as we came back up the SH2 we collected some puzzle caches that I had worked out, as well as a very difficullt one worked out by Datum Thank you! Finally it was up to Eketahuna and time for a cafe break before heading back over the Tararua and home to Palmerston North. thanks for all the caches along the way.
This was a pleasant walk through the trees but as cattle had been grazing in the reserve the trees were rather thin and the path a bit chomped up by their hooves. The little stream near the end of the loop going clockwise needed a bit of attention also. The reserve has potential so hopefully it will get some attention from the PD boys etc.

An enjoyable walk in the rainforest. Very peaceful...between cars. I tipped water from the cache and the log is slightly damp. A favourite tick. TFTC skindo.
Enjoying a day out driving in skindo's territory. We stopped here for lunch - shooing away the collection of interested hens. Then took the short walk to this one. Not so scenic to start with, but the trees at GZ were much more impressive. The cache is in good condition, thanks skindo.
A mini road trip today, Masterton and Martinborough to track down a new D/T combo and a few more skindo caches to get us past 200 for the C O. We had high hopes of crossing Henly Lake by boat to grab the T level 5 cache there and lunch out was also 'on the menu' for today.
This was the cache that would have been a doggy rest stop if Tally had come along, but she stayed home, but we stopped here anyway. Nice roosters and chickens abounded at the parking area, including a limping chook!
nightowl19 and I jogged the loop and soon found the nicely sized cache
T F T C skindo, a nice walk through here and earns an F P

Found! More off the track than I would have casually thought. I tracked my route, adding the geotrail to the map.
After finding the cache at the ANZAC Memorial Bridge we set off to walk round the Scenic Reserve loop walk and search for another cache as well. It was a bit of a noisy walk. Apart from the nearby SH2 traffic there was a helicopter flying up and down spraying what we presumed was fertiliser out of two long booms fixed underneath, sticking out both sides. At the end of each pass he did a very tight turn seemingly just metres above our heads and went back for another run. At GZ the cache was a nice easy find and there were certainly no muggles around (the one overhead was undoubtedly too busy to be looking at us!). As with the ANZAC Memorial Bridge cache, ours was the second find of the day, yet the previous log entry in the paper log was back in March! We continued around the loop track and back to Barnaby to continue our trip to Hawke's Bay. Many thanks for this cache skindo.
Think it was a lot of luck that allowed me to score this one, but a find is a find
Had to empty out water from the cache but the log was still usable. TFTC

After we figured there must be a second river we found it quickly on the second loop. Greetings from germany
A pleasant walk made the break from lots of drive-by caching earlier in the day. Recommend this patch of bush and pleasant peace on the edge of SH2. Easy parking.
Straightforward find…. once we had sussed out the off-track direction and reached GZ
Cache in order; log signed, cache safely re-hidden, just as found.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Enjoyable walk to GZ in a great little reserve, friendly chickens greeted us on arrival TFTC.
Quick find. 50 caches today, skindo 48, tmann421 2. Picked up TB. Thanks for the cache.
A bit further from the carpark than I first expected. Left the family in the car, who were patiently awaiting my return. I would have liked to spend more time exploring the area, but not today.
Dropped off my eye TB to start it's adventure.

Thanks for a really nice cache. Walk was a pleasant break from driving. The chooks in the car park were friendly !
OKay, this gets a favourite. Not only is it in a very pretty bit of bush, but it is also off the trail. Heck, a favourite is not good enough! Also gets a pathtag.
Found it together with tasdevil13 during our trip through NZ. Also had to read the hint and then detour. Nice place.
Followed the trail, expecting the cache nearby. Saw I had passed it, so eventually read the cache description in more detail. Had to back-track and found a clear route to GZ. TFTC
GPS had a few issues retaining signal but eventually had cache in hand and made it back to the track.
We have driven past this reserve several times, but never had the opportunity to stop, either we had run out of time or the weather was crap. Today, the stars were in alignment and we decided to visit the reserve.
Looked like someone was camping there overnight, always worries me when there are campers in places with no toilet facilities. Have had a few unpleasant suprises when looking for caches at these sorts of places .
A pleasant walk to stretch our legs and a cache to find, a great combo. TFTC.

#4570. Must have driven past this one at least 3 or 4 times before. It was a good chance to have a decent break and stretch our legs today. I enjoyed exploring the reserve. TFTC.
A very enjoyable walk after lots of driving it was good to stretch the legs. Easy find at GZ with the GPS being spot on. TFTC
#3090. Took the anti-clockwise loop. When heading out, we encountered a stream crossing, with a missing proper bridge with access taped off. In its place, there was a "two-log" bridge. We opted to ford the stream instead. The return leg on the good track passed through more scenic vistas over the reserve. TNLNSL. TFTC.
had this one on my list for a while and always see the chickens here as i drive by pleased to find such a pleasant reserve and walk TFTF
thanks for the walk in the reserve to get the cache was a easy found by jr taybee TFTC
Danger danger... Once we got over the 'bridge' it was fine. TFTC. Found with lillianavess.
Found with Danielle
Enjoyed the river crossing. Really enjoyed the journey to this one.

A quick walk until we had to clamber over the stream where it is taped off. Nice bush walk. TFTC.
