2085. 6:28 am. In Taupō for work with little opportunity to geocache and needing just a multi for this month's challenge I headed out for a very early and frosty walk. Stage 2 needs attention as I needed previous logs to continue. An enjoyable multi - I always get worried on multis that there will be a late stage issue. FP. TFT(tagged multi)C.
I had a nice walk in this park gathering all the info for this multi.
But when it came to locate the final I had a bit of difficulty. Seeing that the cache was placed in 2010 the bush has grown a tad. I finally located it. Waypoint 2's coords are S 455 and E 285 - I couldn't find them, used ones that are in the previous logs.
Cheers for the cache, Taupotiger.

Headed down to Taupo for a long weekend to attend the Possum Night Trail run on Saturday. Left Auckland early on Friday, getting stuck in the traffic on the way to Fieldays at Mystery Creek. Soon left the State Highway to travel down to Turangi before traveling up to Taupo.
On Saturday morning I left my accommodation early to get a good start on the day as I was heading back to Turangi to find a couple of ad labs and caches I didn't have time for yesterday. Being a little time-poor - still needing to get back to Taupo to check in to my accommodation and change before heading to the event in Kinloch, I wasn't sure I'd fit this multi in. But I'm glad I made the time, even if I rushed through all the stages.
The only issue I had was at WP2, but others have provided the coords for me to continue. At the last WP before the final it did take me a little bit to spot the final coord information. Once at the final GZ I had to venture a bit further in to find the cache. Thanks for the fun adventure around this park.

Took a while to figure out WP2. Used previous log notes. Grand kids enjoyed the search. Thank you.
Before going into town, *Filser1* and I visited this park. We did not regret it.

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.
With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed
We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared
So this box was also well found.
now I have another on my personal cache card.
many thanks to [^] **Taupotiger** [^] for the effort and the cache

Trying to recruit by showing friends an exciting cache. We all enjoyed the strolling around and around and around. There were a few challenges along the way, but nothing insurmountable with previous logs. Cache could do with some maintenance, but all good. TFTC
Have not logged in note book as pens not working.
Cache 2 has almost completely dissapeared. Missing digits 455 285 to hep the next cacher.

We arrived in Taupo with time to spare before we needed to check in to our accommodation. I suggested we have a go at this cache. This turned out to be a good decision as we had an enjoyable walk to the various locations. The only information I could see at WP2 was not helpful but a quick scroll through recent logs got us back on track again. When I found the cache, I grabbed the Stompin Tom Conners Travel Bug that began its journey in Canada in 2011 and which I plan to move to a cache in the Wellington region. Thank you for creating this adventure.
A nice evening exploration of the park. Numbers sorted (partially thanks to help from previous logs) and the final located quickly, although accessing it was a bit less straightforward. TFTC!!
On Taupo for a getaway at the start of the school holidays, a well deserved break for Mr. Kiwi after a full on last three months at work. Also doubling as a chance to see where Mr. Kiwi's father and wife had moved to.lovely weather but a really cold polar blast coming from the south.
This happened to be the nearest cache to where we were staying, so it was a good walk down to the park this morning after breakfast. The son was still asleep after a late night, so we left him behind with grandad. It was a lovely morning and not as cold in the sun as expected. We arrived at GZ and found out first way point. Then it was off to find the next, and the next, and so on.
Had some fun trying to get the information from the second stage, but after checking previous logs, discovered what the missing info was, so we were back on track. Got through all the stage and arrived at the final. Took a while to find it as we thought it wouldn't be where it was finally located.
Anyway, the cache was found and the log signed. It was a good idea for a multi-cache and it was a lovely park to explore. Some stunning views on a lovely clear day, except for the mountains which were covered on cloud.

We are in Taupo visiting Poppa and partaking in a BMX event. Of course we had to knock off a few caches. First a couple of traditional's - then we decided to squeeze this one in. What a great idea - we loved the tags. So simple, yet mostly pretty infallible. Location 2 did cause a bit of an issue. We sent the geokids back to the car looking for our kitty so we had tools at our dispense, but in the mean time we found a previous log that gave us the missing numbers. Thank you! Knocked the whole thing our pretty fast, but enjoyed our time in this lovely reserve. Just to note - the end cache itself was pretty water logged. Thanks for the placement.
Out enjoying a bike ride along here today, and decided to do this fun looking multi. Being on the bike I made fairly short work of finding the WP's, but as others have mentioned WP2 needs maintenance, however noticed the numbers needed in a previous log so continued on. A nicely set out multi, and a cool hide at the final (looks like I found the original cache, under rock in the secret hole...), TFTC
Thanks to Wilbywarrior for coods to wp2 (455 285) Mr p and I knocked this multi off in no time. t4tc
Spending a few days in Taupo and trying to tick off the last few caches not found. Stopped here to explore the park and have a swim. No problems with stage 1 and found stage 2 but it’s well covered now. Had to message Wilbywarrier to find out what coordinates they used and was grateful for his quick reply. All was well with the next few stages although I made it difficult for myself as I didn’t realise there were clues for each stage. Finally had the last coordinates and went off to find the bush. I suspect the bush is a lot larger then it used to be and I had to approach from the back. Was pleased to find a cache surrounded by three rocks at the base of the trunk. Surprised to them realise that nobody had signed the lot for over 2 years. That’s strange! Read previously activity and
worked out that I had found the “lost” cache from 2019. Please see photo. No idea where the newer cache was. Thanks for the adventure and smiley.

Sorry about the Late Log
No problem with stage 1,but stage 2 needs maintance we had to message Wilbywarrier to find out what coordinates they used.
I think we got the new one looking at the last Lot of Logs
Same tree under 3 rocks
But a nice walk around a neat park
CO may have to do a maintance check

Ok, one cache before dinner. Naturally had to pick a multi! And then with 6 stages?! But off we went. Great idea with the tags. Stage 2 gave us a bit of trouble, but Geocachers don't give up that easily! Trust your brain and a bit of luck and voila, on course again. Fun multi that didn't take long (about 30 minutes). Thumbs up and a fav point from me.

A nice stroll around the park. WP2 is getting hard to see. Last digit of each coordinate is completely obscured and the second to last is hard to read.
Malinkaly and I planned a road trip to go to the MEGA but Covid has postponed the event again. We decided to continue on with our planned journey making adjustments as we go with the ever-changing travel restrictions.

Perhaps I had misread last coordinates but time has gone and I must get to Taumaranui! Loved the walk tho. Thank you.
Always enjoy walking around these parks although it is a bit cold today. Re-logging our find from 07/Apr/2010.
We started this one on our last visit to Taupo a few weeks ago. But that was on a very hot Sunday, when the park was swarming with muggles. Today was much quieter, and cooler. We enjoyed the wander around, and soon found the cache after a bit of a hunt. We don't usually bother with multicaches, but this was different. No difficult questions or calculations, and it taught us about waypoints and using them in the app. Thanks for setting this up - gets a favorite. All good at the last GZ.
Heading away on a wee North Island road trip and gathering up a few caches along the way. This was one of them. Didn't take long to walk around this quiet park on a Thursday afternoon and gather all the WPs. #2 definitely hasn't got long to go until it gets swallowed. Cache found safe and although there was water in the container the log was dry. TFTC
Finally finished, a hot sunny day to be walking all over this park, but the fur monsters enjoyed the run around and the swim in the lake. A most enjoyable cache, thanks for bringing us here
Christmas Eve became a touch too much so we went for a wander, it was only meant to be a short walk, unfortunately my muggle mother has no understanding of its 'just' a multi and that means we will be there for an hour
I have a feeling that she will not be converting BUT we are off on a two week trip into grounds I have not yet cached

So much fun doing this. Was a quiet Monday, so no muggles to contend with. Feel like we've really explored this park now. Thanks for going to so much effort to put this together. Giving a FP
Lovely day for a bike in the park with the kids, thanks so much for the cache. Wp2 tree has grown over the tag, the last numbers on each row are hard to see, especially the very last one, we had to guess, completely.
Well, I made that harder than it should have been..!! Just as well Mrs 0B8 tagged along for the walk, as I really struggled with a couple of the finds. It wasn't till I went to read the hint for the final, that I realised there were hints for all the intermediate stages as well, which would have helped a lot. Duh....
All good at the final here today. TFTC

Nice spot to walk by the lake and complete a multi. Cache dry, signed & replaced as found. TFTC
Found it in the morning successfully! Me and my sister were running around like hooligans because we had to check out of our motel soon after. Thanks for the stroll and the cache!
My idea of a perfect multi involves a lovely walk in the park and this fitted the bill perfectly. It wasn't too taxing and I loved the metal tag concept. Most enjoyable thanks.
In Taupo for the night with Pazza2. WP2 was difficult to read the last number as the tree is growing over it but we got it right
Unfortunately no find here today. Was looking for a multi to make it six types in a day in and around Taupō however it wasn’t to be the case.
A pleasant easy stroll around a wonderful reserve...all way points were found and in good order...even nicely polished in some cases...sadly it had a prickly ending...while its well hidden I guess trees grow and a short grovel is needed..thanks Tapoutiger for the multi and giving some much needed exercise for the day
Picking up grandson in Taupo tomorrow. When we arrived it was raining so opted for a bit of window shopping instead. Tge sun came out so we made our way here. What a lovely spot. All waypoints found and on to final. Mmm a few false starts before the true rocks found. Thanks for setting up this multi Taupotiger.
This is a lovely stroll around the park on the lakeside. Well done with the clue placements and final is all in order, well out of muggles way.
Love what Taupo does with their public bus shelters, electrical boxes and loos.

Staying in Taupo for a few days and headed out for a walk on a warm and cloudy Winter morning. Being mid-week we had the park pretty much to ourselves. After finding the first waypoint we knew what we were looking for and were soon enjoying a stroll around the park. After getting the final coordinates we walked to the final GZ where the cache was quickly found in the spot we thought it would be. Collected the TB and will move it on.
#933. Still caching in the rain in Taupo. This is my fifth cache type today following my Virtual, Earthcache, Mystery and Traditional earlier. Did also need this one for the Emerald Gem in the Museum Mystery, so it had a double purpose! But, what a walk in the park!! Came unstuck by misreading the fourth tag, and looking in the wrong place. Finally figured it, helped by reading the Hint which I had overlooked earlier. Tag 5 also gave me some grief, and by now it was getting dark and starting to rain again, as I headed for the final.
I was determined to get this one, so rummaged around where I thought it should be. Found five rocks under a bush, but no cache. Nearly gave up. Went back to the car for my headlamp torch, and tried again. Still no joy til I tried around the other side, and then, another big rock, then a smaller one, and bingo, the cache! Whew, perseverance paid off, but only just. My last cache for the day, 5 different types today, another 4 gems. Three gems to go.
Tftc Taupotiger. A well constructed Multi which I give a FP. Dropped a TB.

On my way to Rotorua for ten pin bowling tournament, grabbing some caches on the way. Good walk around this park before the rain. Thanks Taupotiger for the cache.
After a drive to a virtual on the way to Napier we came back here to park up and change driver and have a bit of a break from the big drive. This was not a difficult cache but a pretty decent, if easy walk. On a beautiful day there were quite a few about including a few fellow dog walkers so plenty of company. Mostly this meant we had to be crafty in a couple of spots to get the coordinates without raising suspicion. In one space I got asked if I was a tree hugger, much to the delight of his pals - so pleased he was he repeated the joke about three times. I suspect his relation to plants is to dry them out, put them in a cigarette paper and smoke them, but each to their own I suppose.
Anyway, final coordinates found it was the last walk off to the final where the cache was quickly found in the spot we thought it would be in. Fortunately there was noone around here so noone to wonder what I was doing on my hands and knees in the sunshine. Nice big cache here - sadly I had left the caching bag in the car so no swag to drop but all good here and thanks for the cache. All sorted it was back to the car and on our way. TFTC.

I love multis so I stopped off here en route from Rotorua to Wellington on a gorgeous sunny day. Loved the metal tags. Found the final quickly despite the evolution of the hint object to “large”. TFTC
Nice walk through the park with a breeze and lovely views. The final area is overgrown. I would recommend a rearrangment.

An enjoyable walk in the park this afternoon on a lovely Taupo day. My granddaughter even went swimming in the lake. [:0]
I am surprised it’s only a D1. Not that easy!!!
I got to chat to a chap on the bench (older than me) at one way point. We got to talk about flying and the airforce which was nice. Plenty of parachutists falling out of the sky today too.
The “bush” at the final is no longer a bush and the cache is not beside but rather under these days requiring quite some burrowing. Apart from that all the tags are present and didn’t take too much for me to find.

Found the first 4 easily but couldn't find number 5 so didn't get to complete, disappointed 10 year old with me!
I have stayed a night in Taupo at my usual place Berkenhoff backpackers, cheap place to stay, no frills, but warm and cosy and central. Today I carry on my mission of looking for caches that fulfill the ‘400 Challenge’ and the ‘Jasmer challenge’ as well.
My first cache of the day.. this multi however is not needed for either of the challenges but it’s been itching for ages since the last time I did one of Taupotiger’s excellent multi’s and I said to myself then that I would do this one too as when I had opportunity and today is THAT day for scratching that itch!
I had such an early night last night I ended up waking up quite early so, long before it got light I was here working my way through the various stages, it hadn’t got light long before I was signing my name into the log book. No worries with any of the stages, all tags were very easily found and read. I wrote down the co-ords for each of the stages and put them into C:geo. The final wasn’t too hard either and I was very pleased to have another of these multi stage multi’s completed, thanks very much for that Taupotiger, really enjoyed it and a FP for you again for your hard work.

Thanks for the fun cache. Our first multi cache. Our taupo family joined in.
Mum, 13YO, 10YO and 6YO had fun running around looking for the tags in the sun today. Love these sort of multis - lots of fun, and kids can really get involved.
My first multi. Thanks for the walk in a nice peaceful spot. Had a mishap when I dropped the camo and it rolled down the hill but returned to position tftc
On a geocaching road trip from Auckland. Thanks to all COs... Geocaching wouldn't be the same without you!
What better way to spend christmas eve than geocaching. All waypoints where easily located and the Final was just challenging enough. Geocoin out. Tftc and greetings from Finland.
What a fun little treasure hunt, the kids loved racing around the park. Cache is safe and dry. Took the TB that was logged as in there and will move it to the next cache I find, but also saw another one in there, that was not logged. Wasn't sure what to do with that so left it for a more experienced cacher to figure out. SL. TFTC!
Heading to Rotorua to try and find the D5/T5 that we managed to qualify for whilst on a caching trip in Christchurch. Departing this morning the sun was shining brightly but it was thick fog all through Hunterville. It came good and we decided to stop off at a few on the way north to try and boost numbers.
What a lovely place. Lots of people here enjoying the open space. Parked up and set off. What a unique way to put out the co ordinates step by step. It was a terribly hot day to be walking back and forwards but interesting and unique. Great hints. Soon got to the final and found the hide. Signed the log and dropped off a trackable in place of the one we picked up. Hidden as found. Now we must head for Rotorua to make use of the motel booked. We are behind schedule .. like usual! TFTC

We really liked the location by the lake and enjoyed to look for the stages. It did not take too long to search for the stages and finally we found the cache.
We had a little time before we had to continue our trip southwards, so why not look for a small multi in a nice location?
We did not have to look too long for the stages (the hints were quite helpful) and stayed at the bench reading the poem and being quiet for a while.
Thanks for guiding us around!

Visiting Taupo sadly for a funeral but came a few days early. Time to clear a few caches here. Nice stroll around the reserve even if it was a bit cool today. Nice concept, might use this method myself. No problem with the waypoints, TTFTC
This was a fun multi to do. And very easy right from beginning to end. Left some goodies behind and a tb to carry on its journey. I have enjoyed the walk to here from town. Given me ideas for adventures over summer. Tftc
I have a few spare hours today before doing the huka jet boat ride so went for a little drive around the lake stopping for geocaches. I normally don't do multis as they are time consuming but with a bit of spare time it was nice to do this one and even better to sit down at the end under the shade of a big tree. A nicely out together multi in a very pretty reserve. Tftc
Filling in some time before going out for dinner this evening we decided to have a walk in the park. Day was a bit colder than expected so as the wind picked up and the rain came back we resorted to a short drive between tags just to stay dry. Nice area. Straight forward multi. TFTC
Nearly 6 years since my first visit. This was one of my first multis when I was a new player. Today I'm in town with sveppi and we decided to stay in for dinner. It was a bit early so I decided to take her to 3-mile bay for a walk in the park. I let her find the tags. I remembered where all of them were, except tag 5. She found all the others easily without my help, but here we had to resort to the hint. As we got to tag 3 the heavens opened so we jumped in the car to complete the next 2 tags, and wait for the rain to clear. After that it was all straightforward. Dropped off a TB.
A sunny afternoon needed a stroll around a lakeside park
This cache was just the ticket !!
Though when I wandered into the park via the walking track to the south,
I didn't realise it was a multi-cache [:I}
It was pretty obvious that this was no mere traditional when I saw the first waypoint
Off I wandered to find me next stop,
still not knowing how many stops I would have to make
Curiosity got the better of me and I peeked at the cache notes ..
... oh is that all
Zigging here ...
... zagging there,
I wound me way through the waypoints.
GZ at last and ... oh damn !!
Muggles [:o]
I took a seat in the shade of a tree and waited.
Oh good !!
Their pooch is fed up of chasing the ball
And they soon left.
A quick find was mine !!
All mine !!
TFTC and wander.
This cache was just the ticket !!
Though when I wandered into the park via the walking track to the south,
I didn't realise it was a multi-cache [:I}
It was pretty obvious that this was no mere traditional when I saw the first waypoint

Good for an early morning walk around the park. Excellent placements throughout. tftc
Day 7 of our Mega Roadtrip and we are trying to find a Multi cache each day. After 2 fumbled multis this morning this was our only backup cache so we had to drive from Turangi just to get this. A nice beautiful day to walk about the park and we fit in nicely with all the muggles. A well set up multi. We picked up a TB from the final. Day 7 of our multi streak complete. Thanks for the smilie
Last cache for the day and Etherlord really did a disservice to himself. We are getting him up to 9 cache types in a day, taking advantage of the Mega event and its associated lab caches. (I have 12, types as my record, so I'm not fussed either way.) But Etherlord had done the two nearby multis and we had to drive all the way here from Turangi to get this. Okay, its not far, but still further than one would have though needed for a multi. Still... some drove to Hamilton for a wherigo, so I guess it's not that bad.
Nice to see a traditional multi - I have 270 multis under my belt, but probably only 5 have been traditional multis. Lovely walk in the park. Thanks. + fav.

Made a feast of this going around and a round after the tags did the distance and got the cache I will tag this with a fave TFTC
Found this one tonight as the final cache of our 9 cache types in one day. This one had us walking all over dodging muggles but eventually the Multi was completed and the log was signed. A few of the waypoints were a bit challenging to find but all were found. I was caching with E-cats.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Today is MEGA day and I'm trying to get 9 cache types in one day: Virtual, Traditional, Event, Puzzle, Letterbox hybrid, Lab Cache, Earthcache, Multi, and MEGA!
Thanks for helping me tick one of these types off!
Log signed as KECATS (KMace, Etherlord Clan and the Seagnoid)
