Did The Rock, and so decided to push on and have a scout
at this, despite the DNFs. Track fairly overgrown now,
but no real problems. Found all the features described,
had a bit of a rummage around, but no cache. Pity; still
was in the area, lovely weather, and I needed the exercise!

After finding the rock, we came on to the trig. Not very excited when we got there though. There were no views, and we couldn't find the cache, even after searching for almost an hour.
Yet another one that requires maintenance, on the positive side, I finally have a free weekend next week. I guess maintenance it will be!
as per tgawoolie log not a bad walk in here, but disapointed at getting to the trig and there was no view and no cache.

Easy find after a long walk in, 12kms return. Very windy and rain starting for return trip . Glad its down hill all the back to the car. Found a bypass for the first trig. good track. Found this and the Rock without GPS. No view because of low clouds. 7th of 7 for the day.

Well, I only downloaded a few caches for my trip to New Zealand, so I didn't get the caches on the way to this one (although I'm quite certain that I saw "The Rock" named in a nearby cache on the return trip).
This was a fairly easy hick up to Otawa--only a couple of places where the heart rate gets up near the end. I did take the time to trip over every root and vine along the way up (did much better on the way down). Looks like this isn't a very popular trail in the winter (didn't see anyone the whole time).
I also managed to have to hop over the electric fence *twice* on the way up--you shouldn't need to do this, as it turns out. I risked my future reproductive ability for this cache!
In the end, though, the cache didn't have much in it! TN, LN. I was going to drop off a travel bug, but decided to save it for Australia. On the other hand, I very much appriciate this cache, as I am trying to keep in shape for a hike to Kilimanjaro next month.

A great walk. Loved the bush but thought the last bit up hill was a bit much at the end.
Took a new container. It isn't as classey the camo jar I'm afraid. It's a blue ice cream container ( Chocolate Lemmingtons, as I recall!) which we also put into a plastic bag.
It also needs a new log book the other is saturated and we used our spare log book up at The Rock. It has a sheet of paper for the time being. Tried to dry out the other stuff. Very pleased to have done this cache on such a clear day the views were stunning.

Thanks.

Found this cache quite easily after a very pleasant walk thru the bush - stopping to find The Rock on the way. The contents were all soaking wet as the hole is still there and the container was on the floor. Attempted to repair container with loads of selotape. Took glostick left Donald Duck
Mistook the track to the first trig - I followed the old? track around the side which joins up later (not so much of a steep climb, but may not be on accessible land). No mistake on the way back, and took in the views.
Container has gaping hole in the side (size of a kids fist), so tried repairing this with the sellotape in the cache.
In: mini NZ flag
Out: Smiley rubbers
Cheers, M@

Doc need to do some urgent maintainance to this track as it is heavilly overgrown, full of windfalls and the inexperienced could wander off it quite easily.
Found this one quite easily as I was there when it was hidden but however see the cache has been moved slighty making it quite easy to find, follow the clues and you will find it. Man has the pampas grass taken over up here, almost didn't recognise the place.
Great views from up here and managed to work quite a few ham radio repeaters from up here, as far away as waitomo with a 5 watt handheld. Not looking forward to having to go back up to the Otanewainuku cache to retrieve my gps thu....

Been leaving this one and The Rock for a day when I could fit them in. Too rough and windy to go fishing so went geocaching instead. Took all of two hours to get in to this one. Found it nice and easy as it was on ground level. The contents were a bit damp because it was upside down. Tried drying them out but was getting pushed for time. Took calculator and left screwdriver set.
Left the cache upright approx 40cm of the ground right next to where I found it.

This was Pam and My second visit to this site and the weather was much better than a month or so ago. found the cache at ground level which through us off a bit. Left a clock and took the body warmer.

Good walk ,always rains when we go hunting for these bush caches. Found it okay the chocolate bar was passed its use by date so we ate that to keep you other geocaches safe and left a body warmer. Amazing view from first trig .
Thanks Snoopy

This was my third cache find of the day. After finding The Rock http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=9781 I kept walking until I reached the trig. This cache took me about an hour to find, most of my searching was in a spot a few feet away! After lying in the sun for half an hour under the trig I decided I still had enough time to go looking for a forth cache. Off to clean green wonderland http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=9736
