Out here caching also on the hunt for evidence today, wow it's been a very long time since my last here I think it was during a primary school athletes carnival!!On my way back up from Human Trek Port cache I bashed my way over here, there isn't much of a trail left so i made my own wayExcellent coords had me onto the hide in no timeThanks you Bikerbuddy for the cache
Came back for another day of Faulconbridge finds before it gets too wet. Loved the large traditional box, noted the clues for the 5th cache of this Mountains Murder Mystery series. Two more left (2nd and 4th) before working on finding the murdered folks (victim and criminal). TFTC
Thanks for the series and such a nice spot on a sunny winters afternoon as the sun goes down
Mr T headed out from home for a bush walk, as part of his SES fitness training. With lockdown, they can't group train, but still need to keep fit! Today he decided to walk in Birdwood Gully, and do some caches along the way. TFTC
TFTC: found with Alyssa. The pen that is currently in the box is empty so BYO plan currently necessary.

Unexpected day of caching in the Bluies as the house is still in blackout from Tuesday’s storm and I needed to charge my devices.
I stumbled upon one of the caches in this series over a year ago and added it to my very long todo list. Being so close today, I jumped at the opportunity.
The gate was locked today which added some extra steps on this hot day but the meters counted down quickly and I was soon staring at more clues

Great hiding spot. No working pen so took photo and nothing else. Now to find #2!
Geocaching day along the springwood creek.
Quick found for this nice container We took all the clue we need for the final. This final will be for an other day, the rain is coming !

Walked up from birdwood gully with geokids. Track was a bit overgrown at times but not hard to get there. Cache in likely spot. Great container and looking forward to rest of series. Almost forgot to photograph the clue with the excitement of the geokids going through the cache goodies. Tftc
Off to a good start with the Mountains Murder Mystery series. Great ammo box packed with goodies. picked up a book and dropped of a ceramic photo frame.
Set out with brother (dogwood53) to attack all of the Mountain Murder Mystery MMM - caches. This one was not too hard and thought we were in for an easy day, little did we know!! Cache contained some wonderful goodies. Didn't swap any though. Onto the next MMM. TFTC
Parked at Tom Hunter sports field. Nice walk along trail with geodog. Quick find at gz. Nothing too difficult about this one. Photographed clue. Tftc
Finally got around to begin tackling this series after checking it out on day 1 of our geocaching experiences and wondering if I had gotten into something a bit weird... Combined find with nearby cache on walk with geokids. Made swaps. TFTC
On holiday over from England visiting my son and grandchildren. Not sure I like all this poking about in rock crevices, but I have a stick to protect me from the wildlife! Lots of bushes king, but no luck in finding this.
#3765 (7 of 11 today)
Today is another day I need to target in my quest to have five finds on every calendar day by the end of this year (being one find for each year I'll have cached).
Now I only need two finds today, but as I have often done, I decided to hit this day hard.
Went for eleven caches around Springwood (the lair of **Wayward Woman** and **bikerbuddy** which should mean quality caches) and found all eleven - HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
I was hoping that the markings on the map meant a trail to GZ. Well, if there was one I never spotted it. Still, it was fairly open scrub, and I soon found myself near GZ.
The iPhone was saying 8 metres, but the spot I was at screamed hide. So I checked it. CIH!
Geosenses 2 - iPhone 0!
Completed signing duties, grabbed the clue for the final, and replaced. Then back to the park I'd spotted before turning back for this one.
Aah, there's even a bubbler.

Headed up to Springwood on the train for a half day of caching on local trails. It wasn't too hot thanks to heavy cloud cover and the occasional sprinkle, and I managed to find all the caches I sought with minimal trouble. As always, thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining their caches and contributing to another adventure!
Excellent! 4 for 4 in this series. I approached the cache by following the "doubletrack" mapped on OSM, which wasn't actually there. No dramas though, the bushbashing was gentle and in a short time I had the CIH. Snapped a photo of the clues and replaced the cache as found. All is well and good here. TFTC!

Team CRuDSS out on a Friday night jaunt. After having dinner in Springwood we decided the cold weather would not hold us back from finding a few caches. This was our third cache for the night. SL #2583 on streak day #1450 TFTC

Interesting cache to get whilst doing night caching. There was supposed to be a track near where we were but just couldn't find it so bush bash we went!
Pretty quick find once we got to GZ.
Pretty quick find once we got to GZ.
3rd for the night, after a great evening out for dinner in springwood with Team CRuDSS, on a freezing night, when snowing in Blackheath.
After abit of a chat we decided this wasn't too far off and set off to locate it, only trouble was, the track we found and took seemed to end 200m short of GZ. After having a wuick look around with my torch I thought I'd just follow the arrow on the compass as best I could, slowly the numbers were getting lower as I travelled through the bush, with the others from Team CRuDSS following.
Finally we were at GZ, now were we at the correct level or was it up or down?
Turns out we made a few correct choices during the walk in and chose the correct path cause this cache was soon spotted in a a fantastic hiding spot.
We took note of the details on the board, and signed the log. Then wondered how we should approach the return journey to the car....
While I was searching the area I noticed an area which seemed like a better way back, we followed it and with abit mire bush bashing we soon had a way home, we were very interested in wheather we managed to miss a track leading to the cache or did it require some bush bashing anyway?
It was now about 9pm so darkness and cold was starting to set in.
A great adventure, felt like we were miles from anywhere, but knowing we were still really close to the trainline as the train rumbled through in the not to far away.
As we have to details of the multi saved in our notes, we'll probably get the remaining clues at a later date when the weather warms but not too much.
Fav. From me.

The final cache on a very satisfying day of caching. Again a track was marked on my iphone towards GZ. But did it exist? Nup I reckon a cacher must be uploading their routes. If this is the case they do pretty straight lines, unlike a lot of my ramblings.
Got the final clue, and briefly contemplated trying to solve in the wild. But after my efforts with another of the CO's puzzles, I decided it would be best to get home and then have a snooze before thinking about it ....

The monster's maw was a quick find for me today. For some reason, a drink can had been placed on a bush beside this cache, apparently to mark the spot. Which Geocacher would do that? I removed it. As with the other caches I have done in this series, the hide site was in a very pleasant location. No travel bugs - I haven't found one for months. Thanks, bikerbuddy!
Woo Hoo! My first BMMM. I came for this one early in my caching career, (a year or so ago). It was summer and I got scared and ran home. Now that I am brave and rugged, (geocaching made me this way), I can tackle these challenges. I'm sleepy now. I need to lie down.
After finding the others in this series I had to drive around and find the last clues to work on the final cache.
The landscape for sport fields is certainly interesting. When I scramble down the back of one field, I found myself down a level on yet another field!
This one was easily found, and the last of the clues I need to find number 5. Unfortunately I will run out of daylight before I can solve it. Next time I'm up here.
Thanls for the cache.

I checked this cache today after I saw PoopaTroopa's DNF log. The cache is exactly where it should be and ready for finding.
Found this early evening with just the ten year old and his friend. Drizzly dark and atmospheric. Enjoyed the bush bash and the structure where the cache is hidden. Took tb tftc. Look forward to attempting the rest of the series.
Did this one while introducing dad to caching. I can proudly say he is addicted now
Very belated found it log. Found this one with mum & my brother & sister. We got there ahead of mum & had it found before she got there.
Wasn't expecting the bush bash, but managed ok. What a great spot. Looking forward to finding more clues, might do a solo effort for those. Took comb set, left TeamSigma pathtag.
Went with my geo-wife via the park that I travelled many times before because of Little A's. Even the large rock area at the back of park I had ventured before. Though this time we had to venture even further until the first cache was in our hands to retrieve the clue. Thanks BB for an adventure back to this spot.

This hike through the gully along the trails pretty much overwhelmed my gps reception. Reception, direction, and distance were all over the place. Sun flares disturbing the gps? Probably not. Beautiful area but the cache was elusive. Thanks for the hunt. Greetings from Arizona, USA.
Found with The Rats and Hoojar on a run through the Blue Mountains.
A bit of scrub to tackle this one but we got there. TFTC!

Teamed up with Steeba and Hoojar for a days caching through the mountains. This was one of our many finds for the day.
Doing the nearby birdwood gully caches we opted to slug it up the hill and grab this one while we were in the area - not the local approach method but for us it was a good fitness stretch for upcoming nav events.
Once at GZ the cache was soon in hand and the additional clue was stored on the phone. One day I'll finish this series.
Thanks Bikerbuddy

The Rats, Steeba and I finished our little walk here after collecting two cache lower down the gully. A great excuse to stretch the legs and get out into the scrub!

This would be the cache that will answer the questions for my investigations. I wandered into the bush and make a short hike to find my final clue, another cache to this series. GZ approached soon and I was welcomed with a lovely natural feature. Soon after, the cache was reviled. Again from bikerbuddy, ticks mark in every box, great hide, great cache, great location. This also reviled the information needed to finalize my investigations. A discovery soon awaits. TNLN SL TFTC.

Took the road less traveled so to speak to get to GZ, as I found myself quite close from the Birdwood Gully track...so after a quick jump of the creek, and a dash up the rocks, I soon had the cache in hand, and grabbed the required information to track down the mystery of Sally Ann Winters. Great spot.
Gratias bikerbuddy.

Just as I got near GZ I got a phone call that was a job offer. I did my best to multitask between the phone call and the cache hunt - when I finally saw the container I was very relieved there was a bit of a dropout on the call so I could hang up and grab the cache before redialing. Then a few photos, a one handed scrawl in the log and back to the car before dark. A very pleasant way to spend an evening. 1 down, 4 to go. Thanks bikerbuddy!
bb you must be getting soft!! This was way too easy to get to, hahaha. A simple find in the end, I photograghed the clues, and made a quick return to the car, thanks bb.
Another great cache from bikerbuddy. I really enjoy these hides where you can choose how difficult you want to make the hunt. This time around it was just me and little Rocky, the French Bulldog. He loves a good bush bash, but not if there are steep climbs or descents. We came up a clear track from Birdwood Gully and bashed across the ridge. The steep track got our hearts pumping, but at a point the GPS indicated we had reached GZs approximate elevation. The ridge between us and the cache seemed relatively benign, so into the bush Rocky and went. Once we hit the approximate elevation on the other side, a quick search revealed the obvious spot for a cache. With MM1 and MM2 under the belt, I am looking forward to completing the series very soon. TFTH bikerbuddy.
Did a bush bash from Birdwood Gully up to the GZ, picked up a few leeches probably not the best way to get to this spot, The kids found it pretty quickly once we got there. Traded a book of stickers for a wallet, Also picked up a pig which we later worked out was a trackable item - will move this on after I have figured out how to log this. Thanks again
Poor Sally Ann! I know I've been neglecting this sad case for too long and should get on with the investigation . . .
Two hours free on a Saturday afternoon, so I hurried down from Leura in the GeoBuru2 and parked at the locked gate to the car park -- less than 500 metres from the murderous GZ and Monsters Maw.
The rain stopped and the sun came out and it was quite warm. The way alongside the main sports field and via the second sports field was clear enough, but then on the rocks I went slightly astray.
I bore left where it looked like easy going, even though I knew the tragic scene was more to the right. But 100 metres of bush bashing eventually put me right and I soon saw the unmistakable scene of the famous rock formation . . .
CIH quickly, I then studied the new clues for a while. However, voices off in the bush hurried me along, so I put everything back together and concealed the cache where I found it. Glad to see that all was nice and dry, with another great log book!
TNLNSL.
Two sets of clues in hand now -- two more to go!
Many thanks to bikerbuddy for allowing us all to assist him in this very troubling situation. It would really be a shame to see him locked up. I wonder what the rest of this well-known geocaching family would do? I sure hope others will start investigating this case and make it to #5 ASAP.

Second in this series, one day hopefully we will get all of them done .
We parked near the entrance to Tom Hunter Park (gate was locked so we couldn't park closer) and used the suggested trail head.
Nice walk, little bit of bush bash, but a very easy one that even the 4 year old had no problems with.
When we got near GZ I spotted something that looked like a good monster maw, but before I could look closer, the rotten 4 year old climbed up & found the cache.
I signed the log book while the children argued over who would replace the cache. Settled that argument by replacing it myself . They of course all had to inspect to make sure I'd done it correctly! No swaps, left a piggy TB.
Thanks for another great cache.

nice little walk in. Tried out my old long jump on the way through..glad no one was around to witness it...
Cache Check. All is well. I've updated the clues in this cache. Those who have completed this cache and are part way through the series will get an update of the clue from my via email. Thanks
Thanks to a mad coin for their log. I figured I had better check this one. I've rehidden it as it was hidden originally. This time it has a rock wedged against it to stop it from slipping, so could the next finder please ensure it goes back in the same place with the rock. It shouldn't be visible when you first get to GZ. Thanks.
2nd one for today kids got half way then they stopped for lunch so i did the bush bashing to find this one container was easy to find at the spot due to it being on the ground but i put it back where i thought it was suppose to be

I was going to park the car in nearby Tom Hunter Park, luckily enough I did'nt because when I returned the park gates had been lock!! [xx(] Instead I parked in a nearby street in the shade of the trees.
It should have been a relatively straight forward walk through the bush to GZ My GPSr was sending me all over the place so I must have covered a lot more territory than was necessary but in the end I re calibrated the beast and all was good!!
Monster's Maw was located and ever so carefully Seamley's first clue was extracted from the large mouth, being all the time aware of the surrounding teeth!!

Oh! if only I had read the suggested parking location, I would have saved a treck up Birdwood gully, but at least it is beautiful and I did like the area. Anyway after getting #3 knocked over, drove to parking loc and found this cache quite easily. Great hiding location. There was a football club break-up on the oval nearby but they didn't bother us. TFTC Bikerbuddy.
Went for this one from Birdwood gully and got within ~150m or so before realising a up hill bash was required. Quite shortly after leaving the path I realised it was all to quite... turning round I found my companions standing all to non-committal at the edge of the path. "My back" he moans, "My knees" she cries. So we eventually decide an easier way may be accessible and we'd move on to number 3 in the hope of reaching it...
Some time later had parked in the correct location with a nice pleasant stroll to the cache. My GPS had us way out but thankfully Nepeancacher was right on the money and it was all to quickly found
Thanks bikerbuddy for another top cache

We all enjoyed the walk through the bush. At GZ sent the kids into the monster maw to
find the prize.

With JAB's growing up in the mountains and knowing the area well, the access point and track to this one wasn't a problem, even in the dark. After a short walk across the oval, we entered the bush and was soon at GZ.
Located the cache quickly, gathered the additional info and were on our way again.

This was to be the start of a long 36 hours of caches in the Low Mountains. Knowing the area well we headed off into the dark from the gates at Tom Hunter. Been here lots of times for school sporting events. Walked down to the lower oval a choice of the lower track or the top track. Lower won and soon had us a GZ. Our return trip saw us coming back out on the top track. Oh the menories. Place has not changed much over the years. Even know of a couple 15 metre cliffs nearby that where good for climbing and a great absail overhang into a forest canopy.

I made this one harder than necessary on my geo-family by not firstly checking out exactly where the trail-head was. I left it up to my brain dead Tom Tom who couldn’t figure it out. So we ended up on the eastern side of the valley and found a trail-head suggesting that the cache was 350 meters. So off we headed and all I could think was “what goes down has to came up”. The walk was very nice down into the valley and as geo-daughter was in charge of the Garmin GPS today, it was at one point she exclaimed “dad its only 80 meters that-a-way”. So at her suggestion we started a fairly easy bush bash uphill until we came up against a cliff wall. We traversed until we could scramble up. We finally reached GZ and Geo-daughter soon had the cache in hand. We retrieved the required extra information and exchanged swaps. We descended back down the way we came sometimes on our back-sides until we crossed the creek again and ascended back up the track to the geo-mobile. Now off to Macca’s to replace some of those burnt off calories. (Just to make it more challenging geo-pup who was with us required to be carried most of the way up and down…..but he loved the adventure)
Parked outside Tom Hunter and strolled in from the given track head. Lovely sunny winter's day but oh so cool in the shade. The playing fields were deserted today. Followed a track for a while and thence off through the light scrub to the cache locale. Here we quickly located the cache in it's nice little hidey hole. It's nice peaceful bushy location here despite the proximity of houses across the valley. We picked up the clue we needed as well as the TB but made no swaps here. Nice cache.
Continueing on from nearby Madoline glen we decided to see if we could nab MM2 and as we made our way along the track no side branches jumped out at us so we changed our destination to MM1 this proved to be better but we still had a harsh bash up a steep hill before we arrived at GZ, reading through the book we discovered Team Webguys comment on how this was the easiest of the 4 MM series.....hmmm got a bit scared off from doing the others.
But then if he came in from above then this was another example of RAGS4X4 leading the pair of us into more hard work than need be???
Still I had no regrets beaut part of the world Thanks for showing it to us...kept a copy of the all important info but Took nothing out Thanks for the cache

We found this one from the bottom up. The cliff lines were a challenge but we managed to find our way to the top and located the cache quickly. Took geo coin and left bottle seals. TFTC
By far the easiest of the four in the series, but still a bit of work. Loved the hide, particularly when Webby disappeared to find it. Dropped on a TB.
Tops spot. Last of the series clues. Now to work out the final.

After a decent bush bash with Corell Amboshler we made it to the cache. Brilliant hidey hole, luckily we had some expert spotters on hand to locate the craftily hidden cache.

The fifth cache will require information from the first four to complete, so make sure you record the clue from this cache if you do it. NB: Do not try to go to the coordinates you find in the cache. It is a clue, but you will find nothing at the physical location if you go there.

Parked in the car park near the Trailhead. The narcs that run AFL and were marking the fields said they were leaving in five minutes and were going to lock my ca in. So I walk back to the car and drive back up to the top gates.
After same mild rock scrambling and bush-bashing the nice hiding spot was easily found and the cache logged as a FTF!
Of course when I retruned to the car 30 minutes later the narcs were still sitting there talking!?!
