First find for the day after my first night camping at the Australian bush. Ive been in this country for 15 years but never felt brave to venture into camping here. After a glorious night at honeysuckle campground we made some mate and went out caching The area around the cache has grown a bitSo our search was over 20 minsBuckoraider claimed to find this cache before but I believe his account should get audited.Because he cant find again any cache he claims he has previously found. Making highly doubtful that he signed his 1800+ finds I will be bringing this up with HQ
Over here for Canberra Mega from Western Australia picking up caches and meeting like persons. TFTC signed as WA5 (Geotrakka Meme28 Burns345 ic_nothing cirrus_wa)
Part of the Sandgroper contingent that has come to the Mega to explore new hunting grounds. Its sure to be a great week with many finds and laughs with lots of great friends and maybe some new ones along the way. Thank you for placing this cache for our enjoyment. Logged as WA5
We have been spoilt with these beautiful Canberra days. We cant complain about how this GeoBash week is going!Out and about with our WA5 team Burns345 Geotrakka ICNothing and Cirrus_WA collecting some targeted caches on our list!Logs signed as WA5.Cache found with no issues. Cheers!
Having a great time at my first Mega arriving from WA. I have my eye on high favourited caches and trying to fill my grid today. Signing as a team - WA5Some logs are delayed - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Many thanks Lost Tardis for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
Day number four in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend. Was back in towards the capital this morning to complete my tour of around Parliament House and grab a few more caches in the area. The plan for today with the WA5 (I C Nothing, meme28, geotrakka, Burns345 & myself) was to target caches with high favourite points and at higher altitudes. As expected today filled with a fantastic variety of cache types and containers that highlighted the ACT caching communitys creativity and sense of adventure. And with a bigger group each were located quickly. The evening was a little slower than the last few days with the WA5 joining another group of West Aussies for the quiz night at the event site. Thanks Lost Tardis for placing Exploring History - Honeysuckle Creek for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 12:31 on 30/3/2024.This is find number 8575 for me.
Ohh wow what is that thing?! So incredibly well hidden given its just off the path.Undergrowth is really starting to flourish here, but ground zero is still well and truly accessible. Great to walk a little bit of the AAWT also, hopefully more of that to come in the not too distantthanks!
Long lost treasure - what a find! Lucky the photo helped give an idea of what I was looking for as so overgrown after 3 years of La Niña. TFTC!
An easy walk from the fabulous campground. Cache was tucked further under than expected and I needed a makeshift TOTT to retrieve.

I was a bit worried with last not found. Losts of regrowth from the rains. After much searching got it - see photo.
Today cosmonaut97 joined albida33, fitzy_1965 and I for a jaunt around Namadgi.
We thought we would try our luck and see if some roads were now open after the recent rains. After a fairly successful day we returned to Canberra in time for the Annual Christmas Secret Santa event. fitzy and I then drove home and collapsed on the lounge after another full weekend.
All our finds today were made fairly quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

Last one for this area before heading down the hill to home. Regrowth is coming along nicely, does help show up geotrails too. Tftc
Quick find on return leg from Baroomba Rocks. Tried finding on the way out but couldn't see far enough back. This time because grass was not wet we could look deeper under the ruin. TFTC
Intended to go out when I could. Interesting that contesa seems to have found it.
Look forward to more detail.

Out with Contesta and Stars Align today, we all checked this location and concluded it had been muggled (rather than burnt). I had a spare cache container and log with me so we replaced the cache as per the hint. Good to go!
Exploring this area a bit more today, though the prize was Honeysuckle Dreaming which I visited a couple of years ago. Swung past this one a couple of weeks ago and only had time for a quick search and came up with nothing. Today returned with mountainsbeyond, StarsAlign, and GeoPeter and definitely nothing there. Mountainsbeyond set up a new container and log sheet so good to go for the next finders!

My first visit to Honeysuckle since the fires. Great to see the campground site survived but still very confronting to see all the damage in the bush. There is regrowth everywhere which brings its own challenges with off-track walking up here.
Having said that, the nearby track to Booroomba Rocks (and then the AAWT) looks like it's been used as a highway compared to my previous visits - I guess with the Booroomba Rocks road closed this is an obvious access alternative.
Despite looking in all likely spots as per the hint, I can't locate this cache (which was last found before the fires). I'm not entirely sure if it was destroyed in the fire or simply muggled.

What an intriguing truck tray. I would like to know what it was used for. The cache was in good condition and exactly where the hint indicated it should be. TFTC
We took some time to go up and see some snow this morning, and it was pretty nice up there - even though the sky was blue, a fine snow fell the whole time we were up there.
This was a bit more challenging than it might have been - you could say the cache was snowed in, but, it was eventually located, the log signed, and returned.
Thanks Lost Tardis for giving us a reason to lock over this piece of history, especially on a day like today.

Robyn led today’s Canberra Bushwalking Club walk which provided the opportunity to find geocaches. The weather was cloudy but the walking conditions were pleasant. We followed the AAWT towards Booroomba Rocks to nab the Exploring History -Honeysuckle Creek and Booroomba Bedrock caches, then retraced our steps. A fruitless effort to unlock the Torrevieja cache, then up to Gorilla Rock. A walk of about 9km in four hours. This cache was a straightforward find, in an obvious spot close to the coordinates. Thank you to Lost Tardis for installing and maintaining this cache.
I came up here with Aquilus1 chasing FTF's, but it is always nice to clean an area out. Strange bit of metal here... I always wonder how/why they are in such random places
Bit late putting in the log or this.
Did this with Cankid and Kittykatch, Loci612, Smittengranny, Nibbletricecakes and Sebass14 after the CITO that day. Boy it was a lot of fun - Great day out with caching friends
Thank you for the fun and adventures

Took some rummaging but we got it!! Was a satisfying moment when I spotted the well hidden little guy.. used a nearby tool to help me rummage. Tftc!
Who would have thought that just a week ago I had never been out here in Namadgi and now I have been here 3 times! I am certainly starting to like this place. Today the journey was in aid of an awesome little CITO in the area. Then off on a whirlwind tour with Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, CRBchic and seabass14 to get the Stuff of Nightmares trail (and a range if other caches that seem to cross our path)! The perfect kind of day. Thanks for the cache!

I've just enjoyed the CITO and the company. I'm heading home slowly to enjoy the scenery and find a few caches. I've got 300 metres from my starting point, and I have 100 metres or so to walk to the cache. I started in the wrong corner of the parking lot and bush bashed to the track, then quickly got to GZ. I found the cache much less quickly, but I got it in the end. Given the heat, it was a nice walk. Thanks, Lost Tardis.
I walked straight past this cache back in college when I came on an Outdoor Ed trip and camped at the Honeysuckle site! We came via a bus which the school didn't want to take all the way to the Booroomba Rocks carpark so they made us walk this entire track instead!
Didn't have the time to cache on that trip however, and don't think I have been back to this campground since, only down further towards Legoland!
Was a great memory walking through this campsite and thinking back to my college days, and was a fun little cache to get that was only a short walk down the track.
Thanks Lost Tardis!

Found with a group at the CITO organised by Cankid. What a lovely place and very interesting. As usual we went bush and then found the path. Need to hint first. TFTC
Found whilst out collecting rubbish at the CITO organised by Cankid. AS usual found the easy track in when we were coming out. Lochi had already found this one and had replaced it as suggested - took us a little timne to find! lol! Great area to explore further. TFTC Lost Tardis,. All names were added to the log and replaced as found.

I was out this way with the Reluctant Geospouse on important geocaching business . The RGS wanted to explore up this road a bit and of course I was happy to detour because there was this relatively easy cache here.
A nice stroll down a pretty bush track with the wildlife watching on. And a fabulous sunny peaceful day!
At GZ I found a nice natural tool to extract the cache cos I ain't sticking my hand in there .
Back at the carpark we made plans to return and climb to Booroomba soon
Thanks for the cache Lost Tardis

I've walked this track several time, but somehow failed to notice this peculiar thing! On Saturday, I made a point of actually geocaching as I walked from Honeysuckle creek to Boroomba, and this was my first for the day. TFTC!
Found with AddictedGamer and Aquilus1 while out for some caching adventures. A nice short walk from the car park to GZ. AddictedGamer found this one straight away. TFTC!!!
Was out in the area with dty73 and AddictedGamer and was far to close not to walk down towards this cache after some of the climbs, scrambles and splashes of the day such a pleasant gentle stroll! AddG made a quick find and an interested oddity we found at gz as well. Thanks for the cache Lost Tardis.
Found with Dty73 , Aquilus1 we had found this in a couple of seconds read dty73's log for more TFTC!!!
In the area today with LPUD completing the "South Canberra Views" oldest cache, This was a nice quick one toward the end of our day while we were still in caching mode.

Out today exploring the area and went for the walk to this one. Interesting bits of old gear in the bush. Found quickly and all OK.
Thanks,
Thanks,
A nice lunch stop at 3.30...good quick find with Dazzpete and cjd79, no bushbashing required! TFTC
Debmex & cjd72 were playing tour guide to us on our visit to see them in the nations capital.
After completing a hike earlier in the day and some bushbashing it was nice to have an easy find.
Thanks for the history lesson, you learn something new each day.

Found with genghicat. Instead of taking the path we bush bashed straight through following the compass line. Shame that. The cache is located only a few meters from the path. On the initial reading of the hint I read 'at the corner, near the nearest tree.' After searching for a while at every tree near the paths bend I gave the phone to GC . His g0 was different from mine about 5 m. With both of us getting frustrated we checked the hint again. Ahh...Ooops, there was my mistake. It only took another minute before the cache was in hand.. Log signed. Still it was nice to be in the shade. There is a heatwave around at the moment. It isn't really bothering me being from central queensland originally but it certainly seems to knock others down here Enjoying the countryside. Tftc
12005. Found during a fun meander (mostly) around the Orroral Valley region for todays Caching mission.
Ninth and last one for the day. Since I was "in the area" I decided to grab another one for the day. I parked in the nearby carpark and walked along the path and was surprised when I spotted the object. Made a quick careful find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed back to car.
Thanks Lost Tardis !!

A quick find at the beginning of out hike to the top of the Booroomba rocks as a part of our 3 day camp to the Namadgi region.
Thanks Lost Tardis

Not the original plan to come by this one as the link roads to the legoland caches were closed. Glad we did TFTC.
Set the impatient geokids onto this quick and easy find whilst we had a nice little BBQ complete with smores and plenty of fun. The kids enjoyed the find and I appreciate this type of find so close to the BBA area as both geocodes and adults remain happy! TFTC
While camping in the area I had a few minutes to duck out and find this nearby cache.
A great rustic relic.
Thanks

Plans were set in place with StrangeTrousers and mtrax to make the nab on some of the more challenging and higher terrain caches around Booroomba Rocks. A lovely sunny but cool day made it the perfect day for geocaching out here!
After checking out the tracking station with StrangeTrousers, we wandered along to this one to meet up with mtrax. Nice easy find at GZ [^] We all spent a few minutes checking out the structure, wondering how it got there and what it was. Was it a tray for a truck? Was it a trailer? Did it once have wheels? And what was the box for at the back with the levered handle? All these questions remain a mystery...
Thanks for the hide, Lost Tardis

#2023 2 of 7 today.
A beautiful still, cool ANZAC day trip down to Booroomba Rocks with mtrax and SpecimenX. Perfect weather for some testing geocaches, and no shortage of them up here. A early missed turn lead us to Honeysuckle Creek first, so we decided to make the most of the stop to grab the EC details and a few nearby caches. Lots of campers up here today. From there it was up the winding track to a very busy car park at the base of the path. Clearly we weren't the only ones with thoughts enjoying the outdoors today. Once at the top, it wasn't that busy. A most enjoyable day with good company and fantastic views. We'll be back !
A pleasant still down past some campers out to this truck ? mtrax made the find.
Thanks for the cache Lost Tardis.

Nice cache before dinner @ honeysuckle, wonder what this lugged up here. Tftc!
A bit of a consolation cache for us in the early hours after failing lock picking 101 for a potential FTF...was a wonderful night to go exploring and this area has so much space history. Lots of people camping over the Easter break so we had to sneak past on the way through. Cache was quickly located and signed. TFTC Lost Tardis
Found with OutRangerous whilst exploring the Canberra region. Pleasant stroll to the cache. TFTC
interesting walk to the cache site. was excited to see Viola betonicifolia growing prolifically about the walk - down in Victoria this plant has long dried up by the middle of summer.
Catching up on logging finds. Wasn't registered at the of time cache find, but my Dad who I was with was. TFTC

Good hint, easy find after some tough caches further up the dirt road like lego land. ? happy Australia day.
A lovely little walk in the bush from a fantastic campsite, one that we'll remember to visit in the future. TFTC.
Ttftc, found with star girl2288, left a trackable we picked up in the blue mountains!
found with Bobl27 and HypoHippo after completing the nearby earth cache. a very easy walk to this cache from the car park along a formed track - no need to bash out a new trail today! Bobl27 and I speculated wildly on how this item would have ended up in this location, but there were no obvious answers... Cache found safe and sound. Thanks Lost Tardis!
found with AngelG27 and HypoHippo. Pondered how this item came to be here. enjoyed the short walk. Thanks Lost Tardis
found with Angel and Bobl. I was expecting a longer walk, but was pleasantly surprised. I found the cache as per the hint! Thanks Lost Tardis.
While walking in the Namadgi this weekend, we made a driving detour up to Honeysuckle Ck to have a look at some of the history around here.
I'm not sure exactly what the container at GZ might originally have been used for.....but it is certainly a gem from the past.
The were plenty of campers around today, being Spring and a long weekend. we made the short walk to GZ, signed the log and were back on our way.
Thanks Lost Tardis for bringing us this way.

Lovely short walk with the Geokids. PLenty of wallabies to keep an eye out for, too. We wonder what this thing was and how it got here? TFTC
Another one done. Yay! I found this as part of a daily streak I am working on - over 2 months now. The first month wasn't so bad, the 2nd month got harder, and now it's getting more challenging to make sure I don't miss a day.
Thanks go to Lost Tardis for placing this cache and maintaining it. It's a great contribution to the Geocaching community and much appreciated. I enjoyed finding this one with Jackson Lightning and 4yo geokid. This cache was another "Found it" for me.
I enjoy the challenge of the cache hunt - read the notes, decipher the cache requirements, and go searching for the hidden gem. My new GPS is working great and it has really improved my geocaching experience. TFTC! Cheers. [Blue]Jump Pilot[/Blue]
