Have had a friend check this to and its gone. Thank to all those who took the time to visit. Cheers Aslan*
Searched around the area but couldn't find it, still had fun on the flying fox though.
Found on a cold but dry night ride on the bike from Rangiora. This is the first time for me searching for a cache at nite. This adds a whole dimension to searching for caches - not only are you in fluoro gear but you have a bright light flashing around all over the place so while there may not be many muggles around in the dark the cacher is perhaps even more conspicuous. Who cares though its great fun.

Coordinates a bit out for me. Luckily theroamingreliever gave me a bit of a clue.
M found this behind our backs while we were all looking a few metres away.
Checked the coordinates - hopefully I'm using mine correctly. I think the cache is closer to S 43 17 270. E 172 43 101.

Thank goodness for previous log saying that GPS out by up to 15m. We were looking in completely the wrong place. Obvious once we got to the right place.
Found while out and about with Little Red Engine. GPS was a little out but the Aslan* trademark hide was soon found.
Cheers and thanks,

Not as quick a find as we'd hoped for, made a beeline for what looked like the right spot but GPS had us 12M out so back to the closest spot and that didn't seem a likely place for the hint. Eventually returned to our first area and there it was.
co-ordinates definitely out maybe 273/101 are better? lovely little village, we used to live here in the 1980's.
In the area for the day - lovely and sunny one it is! Quick find. Wee dude then sprinted off to have a play on the nearby playground. Thanks.
Co ordinates are off by 15 - 20 metres.
But it is in an obvious easy to find place.

Quick find. Made easier s it was almost out of it's hiding place. TFTH . Waikuku seems to look ok after the years ordeal.
A night time find, none one around, to spy on the location. They must be all at the pub watching the footie. Thanks
Hot on the heels of Mr Beanseekers again!!!!
Also managed to find this one but some 15 m from the co-ords. Pretty obvious though!

Found after a bit of searching around my unit's GZ - 20m away - eventually went to the logical looking spot for the find. No visible muggles after dark but my search lights might have looked odd! TFTC
TFTC. Needed to pick up cache quickly in this buzy spot. Picnicers and surfers out enjoying the beach and the sun. A lovely place to cache.
I had to be up this way briefly so decided to "pop in" on the Lone Islands. What glorious, gnarly trees. My GPS was out by around 15m too. TFTC.
GPS had me 20 metres away. Look around nonchalantly as muggles aplenty. Bike lycra tends to make people look away... Found a likely spot and there it was. TFTC Had there been no caches here would probably never found the highly recommended fish n chip shop
As others have said, once we abandoned the GPS &scanned around for where we would hide a cache, there it was! TFTC
slept in the carpark at the end of the road (not at the surf club) and early morning made an easy find, even though coords about 15 m off.

Once we stop using the GPS and went to were a cache would hide the log was signed, GPS me 20m out.
Thanks Bitsprayer

My GPS took me about 20m away, but founded easily (based on the hint) once I gave up on the wrong location. TFTC.

3472. On this beautiful, sunny Canterbury day there were muggles a-plenty. Our GPSr decided to make things awkward so we circled around a bit trying to find GZ and avoid the stares of muggles at the same time. In the end - there it was!
Thanks

Stayed at the Waikuku Beach Holiday Park last night and noticed this was right next door. Came to find it first thing this morning in bright sunshine. No muggles about, so an easy find. SL. TFTC.
A nice easy find while out this way,not too many muggles around today. TFTC. Cheers Bo
Had award winning fish n chips for lunch, then found the cache. Quite a few muggles around on this beautiful Sunday afternoon. Found it easily and safely.
This place feels a bit like a Pauanui of the South - except better! After no dinner and no breakfast, I was very grateful to find award winning Fish n Chips. Treated myself to a beer battered snapper and chunkie fries. The General store is an experience in itself. TFTC.
A quick find, luckily as it was quite mugglish on a fine Sunday afternoon. I think it's the first time I've actually been to this part of Waikuku - it's hard to tell because all these seaside settlements look the same with the pine trees etc.

#1486 (3/4 in North Canterbury). Been a while since I've been out to Waikuku. TFTC.
pity the beach car park is closed for re-development It was just a short walk & we made use of the picnic table next to the cache - so everything worked out well in the end
Did not read the logs but found cache despite coords 10-15 metres out. Ground was very wet.
Arrived just after the sun had gone down so, had to use a torch. Nothing to obvious with the hint?
Will come back another day during light hours

Agree that the coords were out. When I read this, I found the cache easily. I think they need to go west 10-15 metres. Cheers Gav [5850]
(130) In my hast today I arrived here and made out I was having afternoon tea, so wandered around with cookies and royal draft cola.. I was so sure it must be at GZ, anyways found it in the end... Needed the cookies and cola.. TFTC, SL
Almost alone in the reserve on a late autumn afternoon, luckily first place I looked. TFTC
Coords give the general area and then think like a cacher. Good find. We enjoyed this . Thankyou.
Had luch in the car before hand and the na a good play on the flying fox. Jacob (2 1/2) goes on the flying fox by himself now.
Really had to think like a geocacher as the co-ords were not much help today! Got there in the end tho. TFTC
Stop and cache number three on today's cyclocache exercise ride. Checked in (and out) the companion (Worldcycling TB) that I picked up in Woodend.
With 4 of us looking it took Mrs womble-bbt to find it well off course. It was great to be caught in the act and meeting other cachers. TFTC
We decided to head North of the City and pick up a couple of Caches,When we arrived,we noticed two Muggles here, but we were wrong as one of them had a GPS.And thats when we had the pleasure of meeting meandpedro and having a lovely long chat. Our GPS and theirs insisted on having us all looking in the wrong spot. But finaly with a wider search it was found and signed. We hope our paths X again sometime.TFTC
2TF - a day too late. A straightforward find in a deserted area this morning. TFTC
