Logs
As noted by the previous DNF'er there are a few recent stumps but I checked all of them, including one older one which seemed quite likely, with no joy.

Victim of the mighty chain saw I'd say. Lots of recent evidence of sawing at GZ. We gave it a going over but nothing looking like a cache, or cache hide.

[Green] Popmac rings me up, wanting to do a raid on Skindoland. We bring in super-new cacher Bright_Jun and sneak in under the cover of darkness. We left Palmy at 6am, attacked the natives of Skindoland with a relentless assault lasting 15 hours (including an hour off for tea and crumpets at the Pongaroa Picnic Event), travelling over 450km. We even had spare petrol in the boot, because there were no shops where we went. We defeated over 90 of the little blighters, not even a decimation. I bet the lords of Skindoland won't even notice.
Cache was rather exposed, covered up a little better. Took a TB that was shown as dropped into Woodville Domain. Dropped into the wrong domain?

A day caching with the Seagnoid and Bright_Jun after Pongaroa Picnic Event at Four Mile Bush Reserve in Skindoland. Quick find. Thanks for the cache.
We spent 3 days traveling on SH52 with the caravan. Thanks to Skindo's cache placement, we were able to stop at most caches. Stayed overnight in this quiet spot. Went for a walk around town and picked up the other caches. Had a round of golf the next morning before continuing the journey on 52.
A MEGA Adventure
Both Nova Lightning and myself had set ourselves caching targets that we were hoping to meet in time for the NZMEGA in a few weeks. So with a plan in progress and fuel in the tank away we set.
Departed home at 6pm Friday, returned home 3.30pm Monday, 7 hours sleep approx 470 caches and a great adventure.
Thanks to all those that have placed caches especially Skindo as I think we gave his caches a bit of a nudge
Thanks for a great weekend of Caching and Bull.

Mega Weekend
It all started about a month ago when Cats&Dragons brought up the idea of heading down the line to collect 350+ caches. We both had targets that we wanted to meet before attending the NZ Mega. Plans and locations were drawn up and puzzles were begun to be solved. It took me a while to get my head around a few of the puzzles and with the help of a cacher I was soon on a roll.
The weekend finally came and we departed Hamilton at 6pm on a Friday night. 3days, 2,000km, & 11hrs sleep, later 472 caches collected. Thanks to all those who's caches I found especially Skindo with a huge number laid.

Found with Yeetrees on a long day's caching in the area, ended up with 77 finds for the day and over 500km driven. Came here in early 2012 but no luck, there had been some tree removal in the area and there were uprooted stumps lying around close to our GZ so we asumed that the cache had gone. In fact it hadn't, the coordinates are out by about 10 metres and the cache was safely away from the works area. Called again this afternoon after a coffee at the Pongaroa pub (good!) and it was found quite quickly by Yeetrees while I was checking a spot in the other direction. The adjective in the hint is no longer relevant but the noun is correct. I took a good set of averaged coordinates which, when plotted on a map, put you much closer to GZ than the original ones. Signed log, thanks for the cache and it's good to get this one off the unfound list at last.
A few campers in the domain but no one near GZ. My GPS had me under the trees so after checking the hint I broadened my search. Found the cache in the 2nd or 3rd place I looked. TFTC, Biggles.
#4620. This time of year must be peak season for camping in the domain. Still, at around 9 on New Years morning things were still pretty quiet, and the cache was located a wee way from the nearest campers. TFTC.
Looked like there were people staying in the building in the domain, as there were several cars and lots of bicycles there.
We had a bit of trouble with this cache as both GPSrs initially indicated a spot under the trees and only after a few minutes of searching (and resorting to hint) did the GPSrs settle and point the right way.

Decided to take the scenic route back to Wellington and collect those in the series that I didn't already have. Enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the picturesque local settlements - struggled to find this one at first but widened search and cache was soon in hand.
Found at 12:50:00 PM. Slowly making our way South for the Mega in Dunedin we decided to take the road less travelled today after noticing the number of caches along Route 52 and we are glad that we did.
Another bonus cache while chasing 52 on 52..
Thanks skindo

#3013. Domain relatively quiet today, but lots of evidence of sheep having visited. The cache was a quick find.

A very straight forward find, with no diggers etc to be seen.
Cache was out in open, so covered it up a bit.
Left a pet rock - a duck. TFTC

No 27 of 60 caches for the day on Route 52 Road Trip.
Lunch stop beside the derelict scout hall next to the domain.
A few unconnected dots were joined at this place: 1) While logging cache <<<45, a bus went past making us think this was an odd road for a bus route. Answer: rugby games at domain and bus in the car park. Same bus.
2) The web-site advice that this cache was "temporarily unavailable" hadn't made it to my brain so unaware, off I went after lunch in search of the treasure. Many muggles, fortunately mostly on the field preparing for their games, made stealth necessary. The GPS was pretty clear in its direction and after a cursory check around GZ trying not to arouse suspicion, I was then able to make another circuit in earnest. The cache revealed itself remarkably easily. I don't think GZ is actually in the photo in Yeetree's log and no groundwork appears to have been done within 10m of the hide. So... has it been here all along or has someone working on the grounds removed and then replaced it? Will we ever know?
Signed the log and added the B-17 travel bug that I've held too long, hoping for an appropriate new home. The plan was for somewhere high in the Tararuas or on Mt Ruapehu, but that's another story ... the next cacher to pick up this TB will understand - it has quite a moving story of its own to tell.

DNF
Out and about with agcnz and Hurricane Luke doing a few caches that were on Route 52, and I was wondering to myself 52 caches on 52, saw this cache as it was the next one on our list of caches to do on our way on our north on Route 52. After doing 29 caches in a row and no major issues with each cache we knew that sooner or later that we were going to get to a point where there was going to be one that was going to give us trouble and this one was the first one on this trip. Arriving at the domain and thinking to ourselves that this is going to be an easy cache to do, but as we pulled into the domain we noticed a digger parked up near GZ and saw a few stumps that had their roots in the air, thought to myself this is going to be fun, “not” anyway decided that I was going to go and have a look and check out GZ to see if the cache was still there as the ground work looked really fresh. After searching for about two minutes we decided it was time to call it a “DNF” as there was no sign of the cache, oh well you have got to love it when the local council beat us to a cache, and I was wondering whether or not how long it was going to take before we managed a DNF and knew it was too good to last, time to move on, but will be back on the cache is replaced.
– And the saga continues…

I love doing Skindo caches, the only issue is that on each trip that I have done lately "GUESS WHAT" a cache goes and get muggled by the local authorities
Well this is happened again - the council is here pulling out all the tree stumps with a digger - we searhed GZ with no advail
Sorry cache gone again

Stopped for a late lunch in the Pongaroa Domain - and to find this cache. For future reference we note that we can overnight in the Domain. TFTC.
# 4382
Just trying to catch up with our logging and see that this one is now dissabled. There certainly were no diggers in the Domain on the 18th.

7226 Great facilities at the Domain… a convenient spot for a stop, nice hide, TFTC.
Muggles at the Sports Complex must have been a bit mystified, and after a thorough search finally found the right one! TFTC
Followed the GPS up and down the row of trees, got a few scratches wandering through the bush before the GPS finally came to its senses and led us to the right spot which is easily accessible. TFTC
Nice little domain. GPS was jumping all over the place for no apparent reason - maybe the heat was getting to it! Found easily once it settled down. TFTC
2921 Lovely quiet spot, an ideal camping area unfortunately more caches are calling to be found today, so we must continue on. Skindo #32 for us. TFTC
Found today with my Son on a caching trip East of Palmerston North. 8th of 14 finds. No one camping here today so an easy find. No Travel Bug here however after some research found it was dropped off on the 16th July 2010 by MorganEd and collected by SARDOG on the 11th Sept 2010 so can't have been logged yet. Signed log, Left signature trade item. TFTC.
Another great domain, see they have power points here, might be a place to stop in the summer. NINO TFTC
Took trackable, left soldier. Camped here for the night - thanks, wouldn't hve known this spot was here

A quick easy find with nzcoozer on a nice afternoon. No muggles today, only one car - maybe left behind after the post-match celebrations yesterday? TFTC
Woo hoo! FTF! But yikes, all that muggles! There was a game of rugby about to start in the domain and it was exciting to see all the players in their colourful gear prancing on the field. Good thing there were a lot of cars parked on the grass giving us good cover from all that activity. With everyone’s attention on the field, we found the cache without detection. In and out, and then it was time to take in a little bit of all the lively activity going on in the field. A distinct contrast to the locations of the last four finds. Very nice. Many thanks Skindo for the cache.
