15:14FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat Unfortunately I am not familiar with the Shrewsbury Biscuits. I shall look out for them, next time I'm strolling down the biscuit aisle.Cache was a quick find in the obvious place.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, drawp!#11430
As we head south to attend the Dunedin event we are stopping along the way to find a cache or two or more. Thanks to all the COs for placing them for us to find.
Traveling today from Oamaru to Dunedin (to attend the Mega this weekend) and doing caches along the way. Stopped to find this cache which was found and log signed. TFTC
Staying a couple of days at the NZMCA park nearby, so went for a walk along here to grab this cache before heading back to the shops to get some lunch, TFTC
Trouve ! / Found it ! 5107me cache trouve.Merci drawp pour la cache 5107th cache found.Thank you drawp for the cache
After parking the caravan in the new NZMCA Park I went for a little walk and quickly found a couple of caches but this next closest one involved a hill that I didn't feel like walking up. [xx(] So, the eMTB was unloaded off the back of the caravan - hills are no problem when one has an ebike made for that very purpose.Interesting to learn the history of this street name. The cache was quickly found. Thanks drawp.
Found with campmotherandken - had to dodge the muggles at the green shed but then they were gone! TFTC
Founld with Busy paws. My phone had it out by 13m but we got there in the end! TFTC!
Wondered how this street got its name, thinking biscuits untill we read description. Log signed 4hanks for the cache drawp.
Thought I should pick up this one as have been to Shrewsbury in Shropshire many times. A good friend lives there and they have some fine old pubs. Birthplace of Charles Darwin as well.
Driving in off Chester Street to get to Shrewsberry was a bit of a surprise but quickly found cache. TFTC.
On a road trip with Mr and Mrs VDH56 to Timaru. First of the day for me despite a few other stops on the way. I had tried here a few years back and very glad to see some trimming has been done since then.
#20598. The cache had been replaced since our DNF, so this one was one we had to look for on our way south (don't like those blue faces). Quick find. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route from Christchurch to Dunedin.
We had failed to find this cache on a previous occasion, so were keen to turn the blue face yellow. All quiet here and a quick find in the obvious location. Thanks for replacing and TFTC.

TFTC, second wee find in sunny Hampden . My son helped with this one and loved it (4 years old)
Out for a Mother’s Day drive for some fish n chips by the ocean - grabbed this one on the way. TFTC
Almost a brand new log to sign. All very nice and tidy. Quickly found, on my way back home from the Oamaru Jazz Festival. TFTC.
A nice quick find and Saturday is probably a good day for finding it as the area wasn’t busy
Same as previous posts. Looks like new work has been done and container cleaned up.
The hint object is shiny and new; pretty sure the cache went west along with the old hint object.
Our GPSrs were pointing to some hacked back flax and a new power pole. Possibly gone?
We were spotted by a couple of dogs at the house on top of the hill ... once they started barking we gave up on the search.
On a return roadie up to Oamaru, picking up targetted (and other) caches along the way.
Figured the easy/ not the flax way to get to the cache tftc

Nice quick find, signed log and moved on.
A stop on our return trip to home, close to midday, so not much use for the souvenir hunt, starting at midday in France.

In the early morning I had a walk through this pittoresc village. Meanwhile I collected some caches
Thanks for this cache and best wishes from Germany, kischte.

Bought GeoFoxy down here for some caching and to see the boulders then caching on our way home. This was a DNF for me so long ago but today that was reversed as we found it easily although I was a bit dubious about walking round that corner as I felt like it was someone's property.
24/Oct/2012
Managed to walk unseen while workman muggle walking/taking on phone in opposite direction. The cache is definitely not there nor available as Telecom trench goes right up to those plants!

I knew a Geotour was coming out soon and glad to see we have some local ones. MinionOne and I were going to head out for a roadtrip and decided to invite Eve07 to come out for some fun. We headed out mid morning with the intent of just getting the Moeraki Geotour caches but we ended up as you do following a trail of caches to the middle of nowhere. A cold but lovely day for it.
Cache was in good condition.

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Man, I hate having to push through big thick flax bushes. And then I discovered an easy way out. Nice camo on the container, blended right in.
Easy grab.
Did not want to leave a TB as looking at entries it might take a while.so hang on to them a bit longer.
Yep supersize scoops of Icecream at the supermarket.
Only $4.00 for a huge one

On a quest to complete the Hidden Creatures challenge so again off to Oamaru to find about 80 caches and this was one of them. I have driven past here a million times and today was the day to stop..TFTC
Well on our trip to NZ this was one cache I just had to visit as I was born in Shrewsbury UK...a few years ago now...and a very pretty town it is on a U bend on the river Severn. My sister still lives nearby so I often visit when in Shropshire. I was very pleased this cache was down a nice quiet road as I certainly didn't look very elegant getting hold of it-at least it was a dry day!! Thanks.
Arrived in Hampden and set up the caravan before heading up the road for one of the famous ice creams at the 4square.
This cache was awful - especially for this short legged and short armed cacher. I was almost upside down headfirst - lucky I was hidden from any traffic and hubby who would have been laughing his head off.

Day 8 - of our (The Seagnoid, Toby, Zara, & myself) epic adventure around amazing Oamaru. Moeraki Boulders have been explored - but what else can we find down here? Hampden!
Yes a dredded flax hunt or nearly. The Seagnoid finally snags this one. He looked comical stuck in the flaxes. Cheers

Taybeedragon and I headed south, still geofesting after the Oamaru... um... Geofest. Stopped off in Hampden on the way back.
I remember when shrewsberrys had only one style hole - round. And in this case I was a square peg in the round hole. Retriving the cache was a intersting challenge. Signing the log was a tight sqeeze and the photo does not do it justice. And once the log was signed, getting up enough to put the cache back was an even bigger challenge!

The (major road trip was about to begin) that was for the Oamaru Geofest trip in the company of HKCB and iammrwalker for a bit of a road trip across to the west coast, through Haast and in a roundabout way to Oamaru.
My trip stats were as follows: 617 caches (214 Puzzles), 3300kms, 500 litres of Petrol, 21 hours sleep, 100+hours caching time. THe weather was wonderful and apart from about a 6hour period on the sunday we had fine weather all the way and feel that we made a bit of a hole in the region.
Firstly thanks to all the CO's that put in the effort to to set up these caches and to all the CO's whose caches we did not find this trip, well we are already planning our next trip.
We worked hard at getting specific caches (especially the Geo Art around christchurch and hence our concentration on this area for the preliminary 24 hours. So after a couple of running repairs to the rental vehicle (fuses not working) we were off knowing that all ports could be charged and that sleep was for the weak.
Sorry about the copy and paste logs but that is what tends to happen with a number run of this size. What a day this was going to be and a chance to have a good look around the area. It was amazing to wake up after having afull nights sleep and not have that sand in the eyes feeling and sore back from sleeping in the back of a car. Starting the day off working our way along the coast, followed by a spot of inland caching before making it back to Oamaru for a bite to eat followed by a bit more caching.

Came down this way from the North for the Oamaru Geofest, and decided to add a few more days to the weekend trip and turn it into a bit of a Mega mission, starting 5pm on Wednesday 18th and finishing 3pm Monday 23rd! Teaming up with Cats&Dragons for the first 24 hours then with Iammrwalker joining the team for the remainder.
Just a few of the stats for the trip were:
- 700 caches found, including 270+ puzzles (thanks to the Christchurch Geoart)
- 3300 km's driven, using over 500L of fuel $$$
- Just over 20 hours of sleep (about 4 per day on average), and about 100 hours of caching time.
Certainly a Mega Trip!
Day 5: With a good nights sleep for the first time this trip, we were up early and out the door for another full days caching. The goal for today was to cache our way down to the Moeraki Boulders and then see where the next cache lead us. One thing we were looking out for today was caches which hadn't been found in a long time.
Sorry about the cut and past logs, but that seems to happen with cache runs of this size!

I found this Geocache on a Geocaching mega mission along with Cats&Dragons and HKCB. With only just over three and half thousand Geocache finds I was very much the over achiever in training. We were in the South Island to support the Oamaru Geofest event, hunt down some Jasmar and D/T harder to find Geocaches, lonely caches (those not found in more than 6 months), virtuals and try and meet some milestone numbers. We signed the logs HIC, an abbreviation of our respective Geocaching names, (H)KCB, (I)ammrwalker and (C)ats&dragons. A huge thanks to all the CO’s who placed and maintain the Geocaches we found.
I arrived in Christchurch late Thursday evening having left straight from work and was picked up by my intrepid companions in our four wheel drive rental to find they had already grabbed about 270 finds in the previous twenty four hours. I wonder if the rental company would have still let us have it had they known we would travel 3300km in it before returning it four days later? Our trip took us to Greymouth via Arthurs pass, Ngahere, down the west coast to Haast across to Hawea, Cromwell, Twizel, Aoraki Mt Cook, Tekapo, onto the east coast up to Oamaru and back up to Christchurch via Akaroa and countless diversions and small towns along the way. We slept in the car for the first two nights, grabbing some shut eye between cache finds, taking turns to drive. We rented a small place in Oamaru for the other two nights and appreciated a bed to sleep in and a hot shower. It was an amazing trip, in which I discovered the South Island has some of the most incredible scenery in the world.

Thanks to the Cache Owner who has gone to the trouble of creating this cache, determining the coordinates and then averaging them to make sure they are accurate, placing the cache and registering it online for our enjoyment. Without Cache Owners doing their bit, there wouldn’t be a fun hobby that we all love - so again a big THANK YOU. For our bit, all we need to do is find and log the cache that was carefully placed for our personal enjoyment. As we log it we should consider that the Cache Owner also needs to maintain it - when the log sheet fills up, they must replace it. When the container becomes full of water, they need to empty it. When the container is broken, they need to repair it. When it goes missing they need to find or replace it. Well..... the great news is we can do our bit too - make sure your log doesn’t take an entire page - just a name and date. If full of water, empty and dry the cache as best as possible. Be careful when handling the cache and make sure you replace it where you found it. If it has a bag, seal it. Just remember - the Cache Owner showed respect to you by placing the cache - please respect them and fellow cachers that follow you by being careful with the cache. And if you have a spare log sheet and the cache you are at needs one, please leave it behind. Finally, if the cache does need maintenance, please let the Cache Owner know - you can log a Maintenance Log or you can drop a line to the Cache Owner. Above all - have fun and remember the Geocaching Code. .

I drove up from Dunedin to to Oamaru today on my way to attend the weekend's Geofest Event. I ventured off the main highway a number of times to explore the country byways. There was of course the odd cache to find along the way as well. All in all a very pleasant trip with some interesting places and great views along the way. Cheers and TFTC

Heading to Timaru for the weekend so a few caches to be found along the way. Quick stop in Hampden and found where I needed to look straight away. As previously mentioned had to really stretch for this one and log very wet. Had my geocaching tool bag so put in a new log in a snaplock bag. TFTC
I made hubby begrudgingly jump in for this one, after a bit of ferreting around he finally got it. Log is soaking wet.
I hate flaxes, but like shrewsberry biscuits. Spotted the cache quickly but needed go-go-gadget long arms to reach it. Thanks, unfortunately log was soaking.
On my way down to watch the Highlanders v Lions and took a couple of days off either side to cache my way down and back. Sighed inwardly when I saw the camo at GZ but was surprised.
Heading south for a wee family holiday. Family caught a cheap early flight down to Dunedin this morning...and will spend the day exploring Dunedin attractions...whilst I drive down to meet them...and find a cache or two along the way!
YUM Shrewsberrys.
Thankfully GZ was dry & I could nose dive in....

Not the most fun cache to have to get to. but another smiley. On a 11 day caching trip around the south island. Log signed as b&p.Tftc drawp. Find # 3672
Haha this was a fun one. When we arrived we though 'oh no' when we saw all the flax bushes. We checked the hint and were a little relieved. I ended up with none of my limbs on the ground at one point reaching for this one, lucky Injeanious didn't get a picture of me with my legs in the air. TFTC!
Jess.daphne had to throw herself in to get the cache. Sometimes you just gotta commit. Tftc.
Like a good Shrewsberry... but this one like me better! Even lost my pen in there! TFTC

The GPS is pointing to the power pole, but the power pole can't be accessed because of the overgrown flax
Flax and caches do not go together .... Had a quick look but the flax bush is way to overgrown
Not the easiest of finds but succeeded in the end. Cache was a little out of place.

Log book damp but still able to write in it. A fun find with Red bandit and Alex.
Day 3 of our 5 Day end of year geocaching trip. Today was our biggest day of our trip with 75finds and 4DNFs with most of them being park and grabs. This was certainly harder than expected and we nearly gave up looking. It so hard to get to aswell. Mum scratched herself both retrieving and the returning the cache. Sorry for the late log but Thanks for the cache [purple]Our cache find: #3286[/purple] | [green]Cache of the Day: 58/75[/green] | [blue]Cache of our trip: 125/235[/blue]

Looked from both sides with Chelzea spotting a likely looking object but too far for her to reach so I got the honours of falling into the flax. TFTC
Wow the flax is really overgrown managed to get my son to squeeze under it to grab the cache. TFTC
