A very surprising find!

This was one of 22 successful logs today, as rogerw3 and I travelled throughout the Oberon area, chasing both trigs and ordinary GC caches.

At Tarana Station, we were actually looking for the newer geocache with a similar name, but first found this ancient relic instead. The new one later turned up about 4 metres away.

Some confusion ensued before we found the new cache, because this one isn't a nano.

A further mystery: the last log written in the physical log book was by Team Canary back in 2010, more than two years ago. But online there are a number of newer logs. Where were these finders signing?

So we wonder if there were/are actually THREE geocaches in this small space!

Anyhow, the old cache is reasonable condition, and dry. TNLNSL.

Many thanks to JABS . . .

Railway stations have a great feel about them particularly in these smaller country towns where the residents really relied upon rail as their main means of transport. Thanks nice hide; I just need to remember if it is the afternoon and the sun is in your eyes then that is not the eastern end. Big Grin

What a ripper! Left geo-granddad with the car and made the quick trip over the tracks, grabbed the cache then really enjoyed the scenery on the way back - stunning!

Out for a drive, with Trevor, John & Bev, we stopped for lunch at the nearby pub, where we had a good lunch. We had spotted that there was a cache nearby, so before we left, we headed over and made a relatively easy find. Trev was impressed with the container, and will keep the design in mind. Thanks JABs for bringing us here and giving us information about this place.

An easy find, did not know they had ripped up one of the lines, seems silly. Saved a turtle.

Taking the long way home from work to do some maintenance on my caches and I had forgotten about this one untill the Nuvi went "BING" as I passed the pub.
Pulled into the parking area and with camera in hand went for a little walk.
The Beer Garden at the Pub was quite full for 4 oclock and the smell of a BBQ cooking wofting down to the station made for a nice atmosphere and reminded me that I hadn't had lunch yet. A heap of muggle kids came down from the hotel and were running up and down the platform which delayed the search for a little while but as soon as they left the cache was found, log signed and returned.

Read the cache description before the hunt. On a roll and happy about my 800th find this one stumped me. No one before me had found it hard so I was bemused.

Once I stopped and read the notes I had it in hand very fast. Was happy because this still has my new lucky shoes purchased by budokan in HK at 100% finds. Hope that continues.

Great hide and spot. SL TFTC
