This cache seems to have fairly continual problems. Think I will let sleeping dogs lie (in peace)
Nearly ready to give up on this one. Not reading the hint and looking where we thought it would be can be a mistake. Thanks pirateso'thcamdnhavn
After a bit of a search the Vikings came up with the hide. Nice tree area and graves. Thanks.
After having found the nearby Mid North Coast Wander #198 together with zargfinders, we found this one.
Such a lovely spot along this part of the coast. Enjoyed our drive around and a few caches on route. Just amazing the trees and shady hidey hole they create. Found easily enough, TFTC
We moved from Port Macquarie today to this little paradise known as Dunbogan. While here we had what we needed to do maintenance on this cache.
Thanks to pirateso'thcamdnhavn.
Thanks to pirateso'thcamdnhavn.
Found quickly, BUT no top on film container and nil contents either in or around.
Definately requires maintenance. TFTC anyway.

Maybe the place has grown up (or down) a little since I placed the cache but I guess I had better not cut it back.
After reading a few notes, and listening to opinions over the campout I went and found the ziploc bag with the original log sheet, and placed it in the film container (that has a lid) hiding a lot closer to the location. Probably still not T1, but closer. (Under something, at the head)
We later found out that there were two cache containers, did we find the right one? too bad, logging a find.
#1320
This is definitely not a terrain 1, as I had to get down & crawl in under the vines. Then once in, had to reach up to get the container.
Container has lost its lid, and the log has seen better days, but it was signable at least.
Interesting location, we enjoyed the history lesson.
Thanks

5246 + 578 = 5824. When Sol de Lune and I first saw the Mid North Coast Wander Power Trail published we knew we had to go for it. With 2 Long Weekends in a row for the ACT this weekend was chosen as the ideal time. We headed up on Friday and grabbed a few caches on the way and then a few in Taree where we stayed. Yesterday me knocked off Numbers 001-135.
Today we headed out early to complete the series and do some others as time permitted. We started in Harrington and made our way up the coast to Laurieton. A great drive with lots of interesting stops especially around the beaches filled with holiday weekend campers. Oh and a few more tree stumps... (lol...).
With three other caches nearby we detoured to try to grab them all. This one took a minute to spot - as others have said there is currently no lid - but log is OK for now. A quick find, sign and return, then we were on our way to the next one !
TNLN - TFTC !!
Cheers

It was late in the day and we were really on a mission to complete the Mid North Coast Wander Series, but this one was close, so we decided to pull in and get it. The graves were interesting - wooden crosses - and very old, with a bit of history there. I'm not sure about the difficulty one terrain for this cache, since Toriaz had to do a bit of ducking and weaving to retrieve. We were staying at the Mid North Coast campout event for the night, and there was some controversy about this cache. Other cachers had found the cache in a different position which would have justified the terrain rating. Others had found it where we did. Either the owner has changed the hide, or perhaps someone who couldn't find it decided to put their own cache in. I know it happens. I just know there were a lot of names on the log we signed. Anyway, thanks.
In town with fitzy_1965 to grab the Mid North Coast Power Trail and with a few other caches on offer, we managed a few non PT finds as well.
This one took a few minutes to 'see' , but all was good. Thanks for showing us the area.
Thanks for this one that we were able to add to our weekend finds.

We found this cache after a minute of searching, on/in the ground.
After a discussion at the camp site of teh Mid North Coast Camp Out we believe there are two containers here, both film canisters as we found a milky white one with a lid and a log sheet with geocaching.com information on the top of it, listening to other people they found one, without a lid in the tree branches.
We are unsure of which is the correct cache.
However thansk for shouwing us this area pirateso'thcamdnhavn.

Found it No. 7017 came to this one when it had only just been released and missed it ... the container has no lid ... TNLN ... TFTC
Found log on ground. Cap missing from container. Sorry had no replacement for it.
There were some interesting very old graves nearby, but luckily we did not have to get too close in the search. Thanks for the hide.
Pobnlola was quick to find this one, great hide, bit wet so we dried it out signed log linder, barrod and pobnlola. TFTC
Came across this cache while doing the Mid North Coast Wander. Found the film canister with lid. Log quite damp--did we find the original cache? TFTC pirateso'thcamdnhavn.
Found the film canister minus its lid. Signed a mostly dry log. Placed log into snap seal bag to protect it until repair and replaced container in such a way as to minimise it filling with water. Found on a caching day while visiting from Sydney. TFTC
Cache was damp inside..
I dried out the container and contents as much as possible
and replaced it...

1000 Looked all over for the container with the wet log, but no luck. Just found some magnetic clip-on sunglasses in the leaves, probably from the recent cacher. (Left on one of the crosses)
So placed another film canister/pencil/log sheet where clues point to.
Feel welcome to place it (log sheet) into the original container.

seems to need maintenance. May take me a couple of weeks to have time to get there.
0800 - 0840 GAFF1-3 After finding Pirate Cove GAFF1, I was hoping hthis would be as easy. NOT.
DID find the missing film canister lid, and bell; which I placed in 'Cast a Line' cache.
May/definitely needs a maintenance check.
TFTC, as I wouldn't have stopped to check this site otherwise.

Squires Squire found - canister lid is missing - Would never have know this site was here. TFTC SL
Nice site, had us looking and scratching in the leaves for awhile before the hide gave itself up. TFTC
A nice easy find with the geofamily. This would make a perfect place for a kids cubby!

had a great day driving around looking at all the beautiful sights! thanks for your cache.
Found this one on a weekend of caching around the Port Macquarie area – an area we love. This is a quaint little spot - but we're not certain about the "15 men" mentioned in the cache name - who were they, what is the history of this place? Thanks to the clue we found the cache fairly quickly - a clever hide. TNLNSL TFTC
Who would have knowen such a place existed right by the side of the road. The trees are facinating I haven't seen a canopy like that around here before. The hide is very clever do not give up and read the clue if needed. Great hide.
All the times I had gone to pilot's beach for a swim, I have never noticed these graves here.
Took me a while before the boats left the ramp before I could search.
Nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

Took a bit of spotting very clever.
Left a thought for the folks below

Nice quiet little spot with a touch of history. Just what I like.
Thanks pirates.

travelling past, on the way back from pirate's cove, we stopped off at the CZ. As with the previous cachers we have been to this location before (pre-caching days) and noticed the gavestones but had not read the stories.
We wondered around the trees for a while then. reading previous logs realised that to search not just on the co-ord's but with geosense as well. within minutes of changing our settings geoson spotted and removed the cache.
great hide. signed log and left a few small swaps

Wow awesome spot!! I'll bet not many people visit these graves even thought they are so close to the main road to pilot beach. Nice clue and a clever hide really enjoyed this one.
Thanks Pirates

Its great when a cache brings you to a site like this. Read the plaques on the crosses before looking in the wrong place for the cache but found it quickly after reading the hint.
Top spot.

Found by Mary & David at 1305. Fancy the two seamen not having their names added. Glad the graves are still there and in good shape. At least we cachers still visit. Our thanks to pirateso'thcamdnhavn.
Found cache with Tomo & Hawk on lovely sunny afternoon.
I didn't know this historical site was there. TYFC

Found at 2.30pm GAFF3. We have been coming to Pilot Beach for over 28 years and never knew about this grave site or the story behind the event. Thanks so much for highlighting this piece of history.
Today the river was quite with just a few fisherman pulling in with their boats. The drive out to Pilot Beach was once again magnificent - just love this area. Searching was not as easy as first thought as GZ ended up being 11 metres away, but as there was no one around we could search uninterrupted.
Thanks pirateso'thcamdnhaven (long name isn't it?)

Have seen these graves before but have not looked at them closely. Thanks for bringing me back to this spot. Interesting spot to hide a cache, but the clue was spot on.
