Just before arriving here I saw kids waiting for the school bus. It must have been quite a sight to see this place on sales days. It wasn't all that long ago when it ceased.
Thanks for the caches Bitsprayer. Cruising around the area today with Hal2929 picking up new and not so new caches. Visiting places previously unheard of.

Finding caches on my trip south until it gets too cold or reach my target amount.
Another in a series of random trips around the country, this weekend brings my down to Christchurch for a road trip down to Timaru for the Saturday night, and back home to Wellington on Sunday. With only a few real life commitments in between I had plenty of spare time for targeting some specific caches along the way (as required for some of my geocaching goals), as well as a few random others. This was one of them.
Plenty of cows watched me sign the log, but I think it will remain safely in place.
Thanks to Bitsprayer for placing this cache here.

Lovely big area nearby to park. It was a bit drizzly today, so I got a bit wet wading through the long grass. Thanks for showing me this. Would not have known what it was, otherwise. TFTC.
I drove around in circles a few times before parking.I planned a ski trip with hubby and friends. Then I had a couple of biopsies dine on my arm. So no skiing for me so I decided to cache instead. Thank you Bitsprayer for this cache.

#9461. This is the last day of my Easter geotour adventure in the South Island,. Been travelling around with Infoferret since Friday and we have been in North Canterbury, West Coast, inland Otago, inland Canterbury and North Otago/South Canterbury. We stayed in Timaru overnight and will be heading north to Christchurch today but have quite a few caches to do around Timaru first before we head up towards Methven. Now heading out to get the PWGT caches but grabbing a few other caches on the way.
IF had this one showing up on her phone so we drove over the bridge and parked near the cache. She raced over and soon had the cache in hand. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Bitsprayer for hiding the cache here.

Stopped here on the way to get the new PWGT caches further along the road. Hot the first time I have been out this way. An instant find - signed log, TFTC!
Found nice place Iove it ( there is no pen I would have put a pencil in but I don’t carry one sorry)
Found on a nice drive in area. Used to live locally and would have passed this 1000’s of times and never knew the cache was hidden here. This is #100 for me. TFTC
Day 12 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Today's plan was to drive from Timaru down to Dunedin, following the coast but with plenty of side trips to get caches targeted as per above. I have been so lucky to have dry conditions my whole trip so far, with the sun really putting in an effort to convince me it wasn't winter! I didn't mind the chilly starts knowing that the rest of the day was going to be great caching conditions.
This was effectively a quick park n grab. I had no problems finding the cache, and there were no issues with either it or the log so once signed everything was replaced back exactly as found and I was on my way again.
Thanks for placing this Cache.

Spotted the stay from the van. I asked gk to hop out and find this one while I wrote the log. Now to go and read the plaque over on the stone. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley.
Quick find rhough susceptible to water as lid is broken. Interesting history. Thanks for placing cache here.

Out on a drive to to get some of the caches on the Pareora Walkway. Nice quick find, but the cache lid is broken. I note Tufty has filed a NM log.
Today I needed at least 7 caches to fulfill my personal challenge of trying to get my calendar the same shade of green or one a tad darker. But if there are one or two extra ones about I won't mind.
The lid is cracked with a bit missing therefore water is getting in.
Cheers for the cache.

After I finished my work commitments for the day, I had time to go for a drive and find a few caches. Container getting a little fragile but otherwise all was well. TFTC, Biggles.
Out for the day with Geo jessie, who came up with the container, signed and replaced. TFTC.
Had been to these saleyards on a number of occasions. Sad to see they are now gone. TFTC
A quick find. Not seen a plaque marking this type of thing before. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
Auf dem Weg von Lake Tekapo nach Dunedin haben wir am Wegesrand die Dosen eingesammelt. Diese konnten wir gut finden. Danke fürs Legen,
Fond memories of loading sheep out of the yards that were there & watching trucks get stuck on a wet day! Thanks for brining us back. the skiwi team
2nd of our 6 Day Adventure down to Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
A quick easy find. The very large rock covering the cache has made a crack in the side of the lid. We have been carrying around parts for this kind of container but we only had the bottom side. The book it still nice and dry anyway and has held up remarkably well through the years - I cant believe its the original logbook! 32/48 caches for the day and 250 for our trip. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Quick find as I head through the countryside today
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!

#14015. Good parking and an interesting feature; ingredients for a good country cache. TFTC.
Found with StreetWalker while taking the scenic route back home to Christchurch, via Cave and Pleasant Point, after spending an enjoyable Easter break in Timaru.
Had to wade through long wet grass to get to GZ, but a quick find for SW once there. There were a lot of huge rolls of hay or whatever (I'm a city girl) lined up in the paddock. TFTC.

A random place for sale yards. Obviously out of the way before they realised it was easier to have them closer to towns. Tftc
A man was emptying the recycling bins nearby but luckily he was to engrossed in what he was doing so we made a quick find a moved on. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
If it wasn't for geocaching, this would be another place that we would have driven past and never knew anything about the history. Found with debsnz
on our way to lake tekapo we looked for some caches and found this one. tftc and greetings from germany.
4 horses made sure we found the cache and stood around for a pat or some treats. We didn't have anything for them so they made do with a pat. TFTC
Found it, watched by some curious horses! Youngest Gruffalo's great-uncle used to work at those sale yards
Another there must be a cache here and there was

My grandmother used to live near here. She took us swimming in the River near the bridge. Doesnt look like possible these days! Not enough water! TFTC
Found it but not before I was interrupted by a very angry farmer screeching in his hilux meaning business and demanding to now what I was doing in front of his house at the last cache.. turns out there has been a lot of theft in the area.. and understandably they are all jumpy and pissed off ( I know the feeling having had my car tires slashed and my car keyed for the first time in my life - twice this year... grrrr) explained it all to him and told him I was looking for another at this spot.. he calmed down and took off.. so I was able to make a quicker find on this one with out giving it away.... might be something worth thinking about when you visit the farm lands....every one....
Just had to get a photo of this one TFTC
