This one has gone missing, probably due to suburbia now being so close. With suburbia come muggles! Special thanks to kolour and Brissy Cat for alerting me to this with very detailed info and pictures. I think there is no point replacing the cache so archiving it. Thanks to all who found it over it's 14 year life span.
Kolour and I have been talking about tackling the White Rock caches and part of the plan was to walk out to this one. I had been studying the satellite maps of the new development and it looked like there were now roads very close to the cache. Today we drove around looking for a gate through the fence between the development and the conservation estate. We found a gate that was locked but we didn't let that stop us. After crossing the fence we headed up the hill to GZ and had a thorough look around. Unfortunately there was no sign of the cache anywhere and the CO later confirmed we were looking in the right place. It's a bit sad but it looks like this one has succumbed to the urbanisation of the area.
Brissy Cat and I have had a plan for some time to find this cache. We decided to see if it was possible to come in via the new housing development. It was but we had to climb a fence to get to the bush side. We had a good look around gz but theres no sign of the cache.
Looked around for while with no joy. Even looked to see if it had fallen away down the slope. Still was an enjoyable walk.
Found the cache being capably guarded by a cloud of what appeared to be rather large mosquitoes, but intact and in good condition.
As a bonus, arrived just in time for the late afternoon sun to filter through the trees - a top way to end what has been a long week. TFTC!

Finally made the trek out here today with bennyboppers, a little bit and sweaty but all good. Tftc
Visiting from Perth. Wasn't where the compass was pointing me so I widened the search area and found it in the obvious spot. Thanks for the cache.
I was headed towards this cache during my last walk in the area but abandoned the attempt as a large storm rolled in from the west (from which I sought shelter under White Rock). Today I was aiming to pick up all the remaining caches in the area so continued on from my previous find. I was starting to feel the heat by this time but managed a quick find - thanks.

A beautiful spot here high above the trail. However, the rock I sat on to sign the log did not appear entirely stable.
I almost copped a large spider right in the face on the way back down.

We decided to brave this side of town with Menstrieben and Mentrietash for a hike and a bit of caching. I think all cachers love finding these type of containers, tfth!
This one was a serious hike from the previous cache - but well, we were almost here already so why not walk another few kms.
We crossed a few lovely streams, encountered a snake or three before we finally arrived at GZ.
The cache was in hand quickly and after a sip of water we were on our way, on to the next adventure!

Off track, up hill 100 m. Hidden ammo can under giant boulder. Steep walk.
This was cache #11 for Genyo and I. It was quite a trek from our last cache but we knew it was coming. A the long walk we made our way up the hill towards the giant boulders and began our search. Before long we had the cache in hand. I've never seen so many ammo cans in the one are before. Thanks for putting in the effort for all these caches.

Thanks once again for taking me to part of the park I hadn't been. There are quite a lot of boulders here!

There is a crazy 'step challenge' on at work, so I have been taking the chance to get a few walks in that I have been prevaricating about. I figured Yaddamun looked like a good target, so I got my night walking kit together and set off.
As it was the new moon was so bright I had my headlamp off for most off the walk and walked in the pleasant moon glow. The animals were very skittish and there where kangaroos and possums scampering about like no ones business.
I made good time up the track and the evening coolth made for nice walking. At GZ did a little searching, but soon saw the cache.
I was tempted to go further but figured being alert at work the next day was probably important so I back tracked up along the power line trail.
Thanks for the cache and the walk Manic!

Time for a bike ride around White Rock Conservation Park I have often wanted to get out here and take the tour of this area, and Brother Colin was keen to return to find the 7 new caches, so we hatched a plan for a ride-and-hike, in an attempt to get all 20 caches done in one day. 8 hours later, mission accomplished [^]
A long ride out to this one, and a few spots where I was pushing my bike rather than riding The creek crossings were dry, but very sandy. BC sat and waited while I took the walk up to GZ. A tad tricky in bike shoes But the numbers counted down nicely and the cache was a quick find. TFTC, ManicWombat.

First Geocache ever and we suceeded after an hours wandering around through the bush. A massive sense of accomplishment. Once the co-ordinates were correct, it was relatively easy to find, but definitely would not have been crossed accidentally. In good condition.
After a morning balancing on a rock with some Wow factors including a nude Fungus it was time to return to the bike back at the top of Spring Mountain and take a cruise along the single MTB trail and eventually wind my way back to this place.
Mr Fungus and Lady Sim were on foot so I was venturing well in foot on them now and went off in search of more treasures. I was not watching the GPS and even though going up hill realised I was going away for GZ. As it turns out this was a good thing as I simply had to contour (bush bash) across to the cache. Even got the bike very close to GZ. http://connect.garmin.com/course/7881790

As we reached the turnoff to return to the car park after completing the Balancing Rock Series, I mentioned to LadySim that it was only 360 meters to the cache, and after today would be my only unfound one in the area if I left it. She obliged (somewhat grudgingly!) and we headed up the hill.
A I searched for the cache at GZ my iPhone really struggled with locating the cache. My satnav soon sorted that out, and some 20 meters away I managed to get my hands on the logbook.
Took a TrickyT pathtag (thanks for that).
Cache is in good condition.

My first regular size cache. So exciting!! I accessed the location from Masters at Springfield. Thanks.
After grabbing Slow & Steady, my furtherest point for the day, it was time to work my way back to the carpark. A short detour out to this one and a quick dash off the track to GZ and the cache was soon to hand. Grabbed the TB inside. Tftc.
I had never been to White Rock before, nor had I ever planned or really felt compelled to, however Gaz'n'Kab had organised a day out to grab a cache they needed and what kind of friend would I be if I didn't take complete advantage of the trip and find a few I needed as well?
I was joined by Captain Terror, Whint, Fangsoki, Sweet_bee and Kab'n'Gaz as I wandered this bushland looking for containers. I wasn't feeling so flash hot by this stage of the day and I was finding it difficult to keep up with the others so after a few stops I was soon in position to see the cache.
The cache was signed for me and after a quick bite to eat and a sit down I was feeling slightly better, and we were soon off towards the next one. Thanks for the cache ManicWombat.

I have noticed this icon upon my map for a long time, but never headed out to find it. The name also intrigued me - seemed an odd word, but as you might guess, I never really read the description.
So it was on the list for today's little group mission. Joining in on the walking action from the horse float area today was Gaz'n'Kab, Whint, Fangsoki and Sweet_Bee. It was a fair hike up and down some undulating terrain to get to the turn-off and our little group was taking our leisurely time. We'd stopped at the waypoint to turn off the main track and then headed down across the gully and up the hill.
The creek was super dry today - indeed I walked along it for a while later in the day. Further along, the geocache was a hard left and so up the hill we went, again myself in the lead. An interesting bit of terrain here, but I like a bit of rock hopping. Fangsoki and I poked around and he found the beast safe and secure. Always great to see an ammo tin.
Inside was in good condition, so it was signed and all replaced as found. Now back down the hill to head further along the Yaddamun. TFTC ManicWombat

Gaz'n'Kab, Sweet_bee, Captain Terror, Net88, and Whint (from Whint and Bad Dal) and I all met up and kitted up to go tackle some more of the icons in the park.
Ahh Yaddamun. I have wanted to do you since I first started caching. I thought it was actually older than my caching career - but it isn't - just by a whisker. I was happy to join the group to grab this one. Captain Terror and I led the charge up the hill. What a great area to hide a cache. After a bit of a fossick, I soon spotted the goods.
We parked up and signed the log. I dropped in a trackable that needed to be moved along. I couldn't think of a better cache to drop a Hiking Boot TB The cache is in good condition. Very happy to tick this one off. TFTC ManicWombat

Have done a few caches in this reserve and have been wanting to get back to do some more for quite a while. A new cache nearby was the incentive and after sorting that out came by here to cross this one off the list. A short search and there it was. All good here, dropped off a couple of path tags. Thanks ManicWombat
Well off on a long trek. The incentive of a new cache was why I arrived out here today but that had been taken care of when I arrived to start the trek.
I think it took me an hour to hour and a half to get to this cache from the car park, up and down hills and across creek beds. I saw a lot of mulching underneath the power lines and a couple of the trucks passed me during my trek in and out.
Arrived at GZ and soon saw where I needed to be following the GPS.
Took photos of the cache and area and signed the log and replaced.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks ManicWombat All good with this cache

Quick find at the turnaround point on a nice geo-cycle from Paperbark Flats. Cache in good condition.
This was my first ever Caching day. We walked miles further than planned and had to send for back up and food from Hubby! What a great walk!
Took the long walk for Outdoor Geocaching Day. Took a couple of newbie cachers along. Stopped to admire the surroundings and have some snacks along the way. But we all, 3 kids, 2 mums and geocookie made it there and back!

Now didn't this cache give us some grief . I am sure that we could not have made this any harder for ourselves . After the stripey tree frog we thought we could scoot down along the boundary of the Centenary and then duck across on one of the tracks to the cache...easy...well not quite .
The start of the "track" along side the Centenary was ok, but terrain was soft underfoot and uneven and we had to be mindful of the protruding wire... but then the track all but stopped! It was slashed for the first 300m but then we had high grass, uneven ground, wire, cobblers pegs... you get the story. Finally we make it to the creek crossing. Thank goodness it wasn't flowing any more than it was! We were now on the road... for the up bit at least! Then in our wisdom we though we'd just run a beeline for the cache from the top pf the hill. So a gully (and me on my butt) and some spurs (and me on my butt) and lots of uneven ground, and rocks, and trees to jump (and me on my butt!)... but eventually after some more old fence crossing, we came across a superb area, just off a beautiful place, that would be the perfect place to hide a geocache . We made this one about 4 & a half stars in terrain Manic Wombat, it was our big adventure for the day. Good fun though, and GZ was a beautiful part of this bushland.
Cheers ManicWombat

First up never let it be said that I like to do things the easy way. After looking at the map I t was decided to head down what appeared to be a track next to the highway. Now track is debatable, goat track, cow track or a kangaroo track I am not sure. it provided so good banter on the way down anyway with 5Meerkats and PJATPAC.
After crossing the river bed and up the hill we decided to go the direct route, down and then up and eventually we get to GZ. Cache located log signed and a few laughs at how hard we made tha one for ourselves.
We did say we needed the exercise gents

Out with Mr geo sapiens and Mr PJATPAC today for a stretch of the legs. This one was really a stretch on the legs!! Mental note: planning is everything! We took a poor approach angle and suffered because of it.

The last of my caches in the area to get a post bushfire check up. Amazingly the original survived, however I decided to replace the plastic container with an ammo tin and relocate it to a more fire resistant hiding spot. Enjoy the walk.

Update:
This from the Ipswich City Council website - The core area of the White Rock - Spring Mountain Conservation Estate will remain closed to the public until next April (2013) to allow Ipswich City Council to implement a post bushfire rehabilitation program in the area.
As soon as possible after the area reopens I will get everything back on line.

What a lovely day to be out and about, no one else in the park, I decided to follow the track up alittle further before cutting across to the cache, I took the direct route back down to the track...that was alittle iffy....TNLN SL cheers
After possibly misplacing the bike for about 30 secs at the last cache before the memory kicked in, I decided to take the bike with me to the cache this time. Not so sure it was a great idea by the time I got there but what the hell A bit of strech to grab the cache but soon had it hand and signed the log. Even took a piccy as proof I was there. TFTC
Mr & Mrs L&L decided to sit this one out having done it on a previous trek. As I looked down the sloping track as Mr Couchmen set off at a cracking pace there was nothing for it but to put my big girl trousers on and cycle hurriedly in hot pursuit.
Mr L&L had warned me not to try not heading for rocks but it seems I had forgotten that advice on more than one occasion and bumped along behind Mr Couchmen then bogged in the wee creek crossing and had to walk the remaining way until the GPS pointed directly to our left...time to ditch the bikes again and head UP and UP
Mr Couchmen was the first to reach this one after we sat down to admire the surrounding bushland then it was back down and onto the bikes. I seem to have forgotten just how steep one part of the track was and coming around the bend and down I was overly confident and needed to stop which the nearby embankment was of some help in slowing a possible flying Wig down
Dispite the eventful ride out an back this cache made for one happy Wig TFTC

I was out today with 3 amazing individuals in the Geocaching community, PigWig2, Mrs Lat&Long Junkie & Lat&Long Junkie.
We had chosen to ride our bikes around to the various caches in this area and even though there were times when most of us had to walk pushing the bikes it was still very good to get between points on the track.
It was a fantastic day, the company were delightful, entertaining, helpful and knowledgeable, the weather was perfect even though we all had a scare with thunder and lightning last night, the wind picked up as the day went on but that was a minor disturbance.
This was our tenth for today which we weren't sure we would be heading to.
Ms Wig and I went on together to this one as the Lat&Long's had been before.
It was a hair raising ride to the bottom only helped by the brakes on the bikes so we quickly found ourselves at the interesection leading to or away from GZ.
We had been adivsed to turn left but the GPS's would have led us anyway.
We pushed the bikes most of the way and then hide them in the bush fro the final assault which was 100 metres "Straight Up" as Ms Wig referred to it as, but it could just as well been straight up theslope we were heading.
We spotted a couple of likely hide spots but the GPS told us that we had further to climb.
As we closed in to GZ the location became very obvious I was the one to find it this time (I think Ms Wig may have held back to allow me to get my second first to find for today)
Thanks Manic TFTC SL TSLS

After a fair effort last week, this was the only one remaining, and on a different track (I thought) so I left it. [:(!] Shouldn't have done that. Decided today to pump up the tyres on the cycle, and make short work of this one.
Well, I got to the cross roads under the power lines, headed left on what I thought was the correct trail, to end up, huffing and puffing at a road block of huge rocks beside a freeway. Back to the crossroads under the power lines and on to the correct track. All was going well - speeding down hills absolutely terrified and out of control followed by walking up hills because legs were protesting.
Then within about 1 km of the cache, going down a hill, disaster struck. Cycle one way, rider the other, and I'm slowly bleeding to death! [B)] Reckon I should be able to make it back to the car before I need a transfusion though, so onward. Sadly, another junction, and I gleefully headed the wrong way again, so retraced steps and gocaught in some very soft stuff. Her was only 300 metres or so uphill to go, so left hthe cycle and walked (uphill again), got out the climbing gear to reach the cache, signed the log, and retreated. TNLN. Also, TFTC despite the dramas.
Oh, and to add insult, I find there is yet another cache to be found in the area!

Well I had to have a break before logging this one , because the GC map was not letting me do it. No amount of hovering/ clicking was going to open it. So time for a cuppa. This one was our furthurest find away today. So time to leave the track and head straight up. Elliott GM98 bounded up the hill like a gazelle, whist GM62 lumbered up like a fully laiden road train attempting the range before Toowoomba. It was well worth the trek up, the bush outlook was spectacular. Max always prepared navigated down to where we had left our packs, even though the entered WP said they were still 58m away. Huh Go figure. Thanks again Mr M Wombat!!!!
This was to be one of our goals for the day seeing it was the furthermost from the car park.
We arrived at the nearest point on the trail and surveyed the terrain ahead. We decided that it would be easier without packs so we stashed them and then took off.
We arrived panting and gasping and sussed out the hiding spot while we were still 15m away.
After signing the log and enjoying the view of our next target (Ripley's) we headed back to our packs and away.
Thanks ManicWombat we needed that exertion.

Out and about grabbing a few more caches near my old teenage stomping grounds.
I have never been to this park land so I was set for a day of hiking to gather all the caches in here.
This one was the fifth of the day. And a long walk out to this one. Of course it is all the way up there.
Thanks for the cache. All dry inside.

It was a nice pleasant walk to this one and the rain held off. The final approach raised the heart rate but it was an easy find once at GZ. From here it was off the spring mountain. TFTC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We set off today to grab two of the final three in the area for us We headed off at 9am, and a little under an hour, we were within 100m of GZ Only problem now is, we have to go UP there
A fairly quick scrammble up, and we were soon at 0m Looked around, and sure enough, there was GZ and the cache
We looked in, moved the spiders out, and noticed a toad playing with the cache. After a little scare, we soon had the cache in hand, and our names in the logbook
Now we have to do it all again to go back!
We finally made it back to the carpark, and did 7.9km in 2 hours A great trek for us today ManicWombat, however it was VERY hot by the end of it
TFTC and the exercise ManicWombat!

Reasonably early start this morning. Made a quick dash to get our last cache from White Rock Park. Saw from the cache site, the rocks we were at yesterday. Probably 2km away. A great spot up here, although the track to the cache could do with a bit more tree cover. Loved the walk.

Found with Stairman1 & Geodog at 8.20 this morning. We did the rest of White Rock yesterday with the geokids but thought we would do this one by ourselves today. It only took an hour to walk from the carpark up to here. The last 100 metres we bushbashed our way up the hill. That certainly measured my fitness. We signed the log and geodog left his footprint on the page. After taking in the view and reflecting how lucky we are to live in such a great country, we headed off back to the car. That took us another hour. I must say this walk was much harder than yesterday's walk. Thanks for bringing us up here ManicWombat. This is a great piece of scrub.
Picked this up while out mountain biking today. This is quite a nice area. TFTC TNLNSL
Earlier this week, I disseminated information on my intent to take a walk to this cache, and asked whether anyone was interested in joining me for the hike... I got a reply from Lat & Long Junkie suggesting a Friday afternoon stroll... Sure I said, sounds like a plan... [^] So, 1300 today we convened in the car park and did a series of warm up stretches... They consisted of grabbing our gear from the car and putting out backpacks on but hey, we bent and twisted sufficiently for the walk...
We took to the tracks and enjoyed the shade for the first few hundred metres... Then it was out in the open for significantly longer than we had shade... At the first intersection, the GPS showed tracks off to the left and I convinced L&LJ that we should divert and follow those tracks and come down from the top of the peak... That idea was soon shortlived as the track headed off in the wrong direction and we could see no obvious loop around on the map...
Back on YT we did the right thing and followed it through to the left hand turn. Time to take a break and have a drink at this point, before tackling the remainder of the journey and the hill climb. Once revived (or at least rested) we powerred on. Found the point where the only direction was up, and off we went... [^] We arrived at GZ and in a stroke of electronic genius, both GPSs aligned and suggested the same location as 0m... That was all good but the cache was not at our feet so it was time for the hunt to ensue....
We headed in separate directions with suspected hidey holes in sight but only one came through with the goods. We gatherred around for the cermonial openning of the container but more imporantly, to see whether the front page of the log was still clean... Turns out, we had secured the joint *FTF* for our efforts...
We signed the log and commenced the obligatory photo session before taking some time to enjoy the area and cool down. While we were there, L&LJ indicated that we had made good time and there was a fair chunk of the afternoon left. Should we make tracks to View from a Ridge [?] Great idea, lets go... Oh hang on, I don't have that one in my GPS...
It was time to call my personal caching adminstrator (aka Baroki Scout) and obtain the necessary information (Thanks Scout). Details on hand we headed back to the path in search of the next... I took the TB to keep it moving.
Another great walk to this cache and good excercise... Thanks for another long distance hide ManicWombat. [^]

All I can say is, "it's a good thing I don't type with my feet". At present they're under my chair and don't seem interested in going anywhere else. I met Gunnie69 at the recommended parking place today. We set off and with only a couple of rest stops, reached the WP that is 400 or so metres from GZ. Surprisingly, there was a track heading to GZ, so we took it to within about 100 metres of the cache. The wombat was kind a second time and it was an easy climb. We arrived at 0 metres and Gunnie found the cache in the second place. They're never where you think, are they? We gloated over the empty first to find page [^] and took some photos to celebrate . Also put a few rocks under the cache to protect it in case of rain, then with the high-spirited enthuasium that comes with being FTF , we decided to walk to the "nearby" view from a ridge. Sadly , Gunnie didn't have the co-ordinates, and I'd found it previously. Happily , Baroki Scout was near the phone and we were soon on our way. With this little detour, we toted up 13.1 kms in just under four hours . Not a lot of hills, but towards the end, any uphill was starting to feel like a mountian [xx(]. It was a hell of a good walk, though. We chatted while the kms unwound and it was a bit of a surprise to read the final distance. Thanks for this one, ManicWombat. I hope to trek to your recent hideaway soon, and Gunnie has a cache on the way as well. Ahhh, the fun never stops .
