4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

This cache hasn't been found since April 2014, nearly 3 years. There's been no response from the CO for maintenance so perhaps the cache needs to be archived to stop it from showing up in the feeds and open the area up for other cachers.

01-Jan-17
This one hasn't been found since 9/4/14. Needs to be checked by the CO or archived.

Hasn't been found in over two years, may be time to be archived?

16-Apr-16
Spent a short time searching but had no luck. Co-ords were all over the place then it started to bucket down rain, so we had to run back upto car. Will try again when back in the area. Thanks anyway.

26-Oct-15
Such a long string of DNFs and a previous maintenance log seems unactioned

25-Oct-15
No luck for us here either so I'm going to suggest it needs archiving as a previous maintenance log seems to be unactioned

Today B737 & I made a return trip to Wagga Wagga as we notice the RGGT trail had been maintained. I was behind the wheel this time with B737 as navigator. Jetfusalage stayed at home manning the playstation. We'd missed about 9 of the series last time & were keen to complete it. Today it was quite a bit warmer than our last trip & it was interesting to see how the scene had changed. This time it was much drier and we had our first experience of grass seeds in the socks for the summer. We really like Wagga Wagga. It's clearly a prosperous country centre with heaps of caches. But it's quite hard to plan a route around an unfamiliar town. We had a knack of seeking all the most difficult or missing caches and spending way too much time looking for them. We'll just have to come back I guess.

We came, we looked, but came up empty handed.

Thanks anyway Rescue-201

Our last full day in Wagga and we had high hopes of a good caching day. It started out OK, but then we struck a string of DNF's to take the shine off. This was the first DNF, and even though there was much climbing and looking we came away without a find. Guess we will have to try again next time we are in Wagga. We did enjoy our drive along this road though.

[:(!] Picked up some caches while I was in Wagga for the week and this was one of them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

The long weekend has arrived for us Canberrans, so what better way to spend it than to team up once again with Rapidlywild and set off for Wagga and surrounds for what was to be another epic geomission? Big Grin

RW did the driving-so we just had to make sure she was topped up with water and “Mother” from the esky to keep her going safely, whilst I provided the entertainment lol Big Grin[:O)] We had a great day’s caching on Saturday, and Sunday’s effort ended in an epic 22hr day at 7am Monday when we arrived back home with a swag of finds and big caching hangover lol. Craziness! Big Grin[:O)]

Moving right along and this one was the next one to target. Quick stroll down from the car and a nice quick find of the cache with some great views!-So all good Smile

Thanks for yet another, Rescue-201 Smile

A long weekend in the ACT, well that only means 1 thing..... GO CACHING !!! So it was specimenX and myself off again, target - Wagga Wagga, Junee and Gundagai. We headed off on Saturday morning and collected along our travels. We spent the Saturday and Sunday caching around Wagga Wagga and Junee then we moved over to Gundagai on Sunday night and didn't get home until 7:00am on Monday morning.

We visited the Monte Cristo Homestead which was awesome and also visited the Junee Chocolate Factory which was also an experience. On the Saturday, the Junee Chocolate Factory got their name into the Guinness Book Of Records with the longest string of liquorice attempt (well over 519m which is the current record) and we were advised they were successful. How cool is that? We brought some chocolate of course and continued our travels.

As we usually do on our adventures, we visited lots of cemeteries and we actually visited one that gave us the real creeps, which doesn't usually happen to us. All in all we had a brilliant weekend and we are definitely suffering a caching hangover today. Lots of laughs, lots of stupidness and an all round great weekend Smile

Onto the cache:
We decided to head back up here after having to abort last night. This cache was quickly found and we must agree, very nice views from up here. Smile

Thanks for placing this cache for us to collect Rescue-201 Big Grin

We enjoyed strolling though the bush and the glimpses of the Wagga city below us. Found easily despite the tricky hide but then I came equipped with the most eager searchers for micro caches. We would liked a bigger cache but then the CEyre team is mostly kids. Thanks Rescue 201 for the cache in an ideal place.

Travelling down the Hume Highway then West to Wagga Wagga then on to Albury. and all points South to pick up some more caches on the HCRT Series, and also find other caches on the way. Nice cache. We came up to Wagga For a quick stay to test out our new camper trailer and to start on a few of the caches in the area. We only got a few for the weekend but had a great time doing so.
We haven't been to Wagga a lot and were surprised by this part of the town we didn't know of. The views on the way to and at G.Z. were great. We were able to make a quick find of the cache when we got to G.Z.

Day 2 of our trip to Wagga, thought we would search for some caches.
The start of the day was dissapointing many DNF & a lot logged as missing.
Found this after a nice drive along the skyline.
cache was found more of a hole in a tree rather than a fork.

#433 it has been a little time since I have been at the computer to do some logging now it is well and truly time to catch up on the geocache logging and leave the waymarks alone for a little while although it has been fun adding a number of waymarks. Just to keep you all up to date I am on day 134 of continuous caching and have 20 days of caching to log before I am up to date.

This place provided great views and was a pleasant walk into GZ except for the mozzies. A nice easy find for a micro.

Thanks Rescue-201

In Wagga with Vombatus an Dr Who2 to do the fireworks for the Wagga Wagga show and after cleaning up and drying out after last night's very wet show we decided that a bit of caching therapy was in order. We pulled up here after finding a nice safe park off the road and headed off to gz. You would have thought with three pairs of eyes that this would have been a nice quick find and after about ten minutes with no luck we decoded the clue and it still took us a few minutes to expose the very neatly hidden cache. After adding our names to the log book and returning it to it's hide we could hear the distant roar of engines so we moved to a better vantage point and couldn't believe our eyes as down on the race track in the show grounds that we couldn't even drive on last night to get the fireworks on site because it was too sloppy there were now sprint cars racing around it creating clouds of dust. None of us could believe that it could have dried out that quickly.
Thanks Rescue-201 for a very enjoyable cache.

Having walked on from the captain cook cache I was, by now, quite wet from the downpour, knowing I'll most likely have a wicked cold to deal with over the next week I soldiered on to find this cache. Found it a little unusual that in such an area a micro was used, but on the flip side do enjoy a non magnetic one to mix things up a bit. And now the slippery hike back to the bottom of the hill to contend with...
