Sadly this site is not safe enough for a TB cache.
We are replacing in another location - watch this space....

The cache had gone for a swim, but is safe and drying out at home. Sadly, this spot looks like it is too prone to flooding - the amount of rain that has fallen in the past week or so has certainly put it to the test.
We'll ponder on it - may need to find a new site for the TB hotel.

The cache was under a bridge over a usually dry swale. It was in a wooden box I built as "Tim's Kennel" (well over 10 year's ago). Tim was a toy timberwolf I brough back from Vancouver for number 1 son in 1996. Tim was dearly loved, and the kennel was duly built for him. Unfortunately, number 2 son took Tim to school one day (after being told not to) and Tim was never seen again. Various Tim replacements were brought back from Canada, but they just didn't cut it.
Fast forward 14 years and I was cleaning out the shed, and thought "this would make a good cache hiding place". It was wedged tightly under the bridge, high enough I thought to stay dry,but the flood managed to dislodge it. Luckily there is a big grill where the water from the swale goes under Wairakei Rd, and Tim's kennel (containing the cache) must have lodged in it. The council workers put debris blocking the grill beside the swale, and that is where I found Tim's kennel today, cache safely secured inside it. The cache survived its dunking well, the contents were just a little damp. I'll log all the TBs in the cache, and take at least some to Aussie. Will have to think about what to do with the cache when we get back (we need a TB Hotel near the airport after Travel Bugs renewal's demise).

Ahh, only now do I read the logs! Yes the water level has been very high here recently with no sign of a cache. Sounds like it is in good hands though.
Nice big cache! Dropped in a Hello Kitty TB that I brought back from Grounspeak Headquarters all the way from Washington state in the US! Cheers Gav [5857]
Very nice cache. Clearly a bit of effort went into this one. Struggled to retrieve while no muggles were about on a Saturday morning, but was away after securing back into place. Cheers!
Great place, very open. Added Kiwi WIK TB, hopefully it'll catch a ride to the USA soon. Took Jeep TB
A lovely hide in a high muggle area nice [^] Just a shame the coin i was looking for wasnt there (Ladybug Reborn). Missed it by a couple of days

Very nicely constructed TB Hotel. Took a little while to realise what it was when we first got a hand on it. Thanks.

I thought I would stop by with a geocoin while in the area this evening. Well done on all the hard work put into this cache.. Cheers Bo
Quick find on the way pass. I can see a lot of work had been done around the GZ. Nice cache Left spikey TB
Quick detour on the way home, not feeling to well, but the log was soon signed, and some TB dropped off.
Thanks Bitsprayer

Visited today to drop in some TBs, including a couple brought back from our Easter trip. Had to wait to putthe cache back until a muggle dog and owner left the scene. Wasn't impressed when the dog came bounding over, and widdled on one of my paniers. Grrr.
Luxury accommodation indeed! An easy find-I remember doing the "coil" cache here. My, how it has changed. Took TB Left TB TFTC
No coil, but what a surprise. I haven't experienced this before. TNLN. Really enjoyed this one. Thank you.
On the way home from work - late call out - crawling around in the dark at 1.39am - Geocachers anonymous here I come. I did however need to place my first TB Macraeclan's Lil Miss Sunshine - to send it on its way to South Africa, and what better place than this secure Hotel for TB's. Excellent hide, perhaps you too were groveling in the dark to place it surreptitiously hmmm SW@T team. TFTC and the FTF. (113)
I'll have to get onto this one - nice to see the site of my old Coil cache being reused (first WpT2 was trashed so I changed it to a simple offset, then the sculpture was removed so the name no longer made sense and WPT1 was gone, then they knocked down the tree the cache was in!).
You have to be quick these days, but second to find is ok by us.I talked to an Elderly Muggle sitting nearby.Just to distract him from Womble T who was on the hunt.A very clever hidely hole.TTB LTB TFTC
