DoubleHelixClan found this one a few years ago and we stopped off so i could find it. We searched for about 10 minutes but didn't find it.
#1583: We stopped there to buy some wine. I was glad to find a cache as well. TFTC
When you are offered a 3 day trip with 3 fantastic geocachers, well NO isn't an option
Hence I spent 3 days around Mount Gambier with Brisal5, Clare007 and CPwanderer and we were joined for some of that time by Mogni and Sabsypat
Only 2 DNF's and 62 finds made for lots of laughs and we also found ourselves in lots of prickly situations amongst the blackberries and the forests.
Sadly no tasting for me today as the winery was closed
A quick find of the cache though, since I was the only person in the car who had not previously found it.

Don't think this place has a lot of competition here.
On such a humid day, we were temped to go for few bottles.
But we thought better of it as we were expected for coffee.
Thanks for the cache Sydneykiwi

clare007 & I were heading back after visiting Tailem Bend, Jervois & Wellington for the day. We were chatting away like we normally do when I received a phone call...I pulled over to take the call...after hanging up we realised we'd actually driven a few hundred metres past GZ so after the U-turn X 2 we grabbed the cache...we were tempted to have a bit of a taste...but not today...might have to venture back some other time...TFTC Sydneykiwi

A week travelling to SA for work had me staying in Warrnambool, Mount Gambier, Victor Harbour and Murray Bridge before trekking back east. I did stop for a few caches, limiting myself to drivebys unless it was late in the day. Saw some amazing country (dry) with some fantastic views.
Thanks for all CO's for placing these caches!!!

Sorry for logging late...
This cache was visited by me either during the one month (February 2015) of hiking/tramping in NZ together with Bärgegumperli or in March/April 2015 while on a bicycle trip across NZ and AUS.
We/I enjoyed geocaching a lot.
Hiking
Hikes:
- Abel Tasman NP: Motueka, Kaiteriteri, Marahau, Inland Track, Separation Point, Coastal Track, Marahau.
- Nelson Lakes NP: St. Arnaud, Hopeless Hut, Travers Saddle, Blue Lake, Waiau Pass, Thompson Pass, D'Urville Valley, Lake Angelus, St. Arnaud.
- Arthur's Pass NP: Mt Brown Hut, Styx Valley, Browning Pass, Whitehorn Pass, Waimakariri Valley, Jordan Saddle, Hut Spur, Arthur's Pass, Mt Aicken
- Bridle Path
The weather conditions were great for tramping almost every single day. We enjoyed the beautiful landscape, the peace in some very remote areas and the many friendly people we met on our way or in the different huts.
Cycling from Dunedin to Auckland
It is not my first tour with this bicycle (map with long loading time).
Places along the route: Dunedin, Otago Central Rail Trail, East Manuherikia track, Tekapo, Fairlie, Geraldine, Oxford, Waipara, Hanmer Springs, Jacks Pass, Island Saddle, Picton, Wellington, Homedale, Hutt River Trail, Masterton, Pongaroa, road near Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu, Waipukurau, Fernhill, Taupo, Whakamaru, Tirau, Hauraki Rail Trail, Kawakawa Bay, Aukland.
After one month of perfect weather (see above) I finally got what I had to expect: Some rain... And sometimes stron headwinds. That the route was not flat at all meant usually that the landscape is great .
*
Cycling from Melbourne to Darwin
Places along the route: Melbourne, Great Ocean Road, Penshurst, Edenhope, Jervois Ferry, Sedan, Tanunda, Crystal Brook, Port Augusta, Coober Pedy, Uluru/Ayers Rock, The Olgas/Kata Tjuta, Mereenie Loop, Alice Springs, Karlu Karlu/Devil's Marbles, Litchfield NP, Mandorah, Darwin.
Along the coast the weather was often wet and cold. The small roads in Victoria and South Australia were very pleasant to ride despite a lot of headwind. This changed as soon as I reached the Stuart Hwy to sometimes strong tailwinds. That's why I had some "spare" time to ride a loop in the Red Centre. Further north
As in NZ i met some awesome people.
*
Guess what I did while waiting for a connecting plane in Perth?
Greetings from Switzerland / Gruess us dr Schwiiz
*There are a lot(!) of caches which I did not search while on the bicycle trip. The reasons are mainly:
1. Stopping slows if one wants to get somewhere, especially on bridges where no one wants to slow down a fully loaded touring bike. Yes, there were quite a few days with >200 km on the pushbike...
2. Riding or resting next to a loaded (recumbent) bike attracts in some areas so much attention that stealth mode is not possible.
3. On rare occasions I rode during the night. If I had to do that there was no time to search for caches anyway [:-(]
4. Some places I did really not consider worth stopping for a cache... Sorry.
Thanks for showing me this location and the cache!

The establishment was closed today so we were unable to quench our thirst, good thing we had a cache to find. The listed TB is not in the cache. SL TFTC
We are currently staying in Murray Bridge and our WA geofrends FelixII are staying in Narrung so a plan was hatched to spend the day with them caching around Jervois, Wellington and Tailem Bend.
We decided to meet near the ferry at Jervois, cache around the area then head to Wellington and find some caches there, then take the ferry and cache up to Tailem Bend. We enjoyed a delicious pub lunch overlooking the river and spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning up a few finds in Tailem Bend.
We ended up with thirty finds for the day after finding a few extras on the way home to Murray Bridge and 2 DNF's. As always we had a great day with our friends, the weather was very kind to us and the showers held off and we added some more smileys to our tally.
Many thanks Sydneykiwi for placing our first find for the day...the caravan park where we are staying has a few bottles of wine displayed in the office from this winery but we are yet to try them. The winery hadn't opened for the day when we found this one. [^]

South Australian OZ Mega 2014 in Murray Bridge. A Twelve day trip to and from the mega. Plenty of caching along the way and near Murray bridge. A great time with lots of cachers all over the place to make for a very entertaining period.
I joined up with Sol de Lune for the lead up to the Mega and the mega itself. Mega Day 4, and the day to collect 10 cache types. Letterbox, traditional, multi, unknown, event, mega, CITO, Whereigo, lab and Earth cache. Although there is a webcam and virtual in Adelaide we did not take the chance to get 12 today. Thanks.

Cached today with Grub Fred and Backwards Charlie. Met many cachers along the way. The OZ Mega Flags were everywhere, what a great idea. Everyone waved to us or blew their horns, had a great time. Fun caches too!!! TFTC
I flew into Melbourne and rented a car to come to Oz Mega. This is my first geocaching trip to Australia and I am enjoying it so far. Of course I searched for and found a few caches between Melbourne and Murray Bridge.
After registering for Oz Mega I am doing some caching as part of Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, and myself). Thursday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 SA series and found almost two hundred (200) caches. Friday we concentrated on the Oz Mega 2014 Signal series and found almost one hundred (100) caches. Saturday we spent most of our time working on the Wandering Heroes series and found about two hundred (200) caches. Today we did the Mega and events associated with it, and some other caches close by that we had not gotten on previous days. I think many other cachers were doing the same thing today since we found cachers at all the caches we went to.
Thanks to all the volunteers for all the work in putting together the mega event and these series. If it were not for hiders, there would be no finders.

I was the only car there when I arrived so I went inside to tell them what I was up to and ended up buying some wine (of course)! The young woman had never seen the cache so she helped me to look for it but I don't think that she will be a convert.
Found with littlredshoes - day 3 Oz mega.

Light rain when we decided to start our caching today and decided not to finish the nearby trail but head out and look at the country. We had a look at this one yesterday but the Gizmo wanted us to drive across the river where thee is no bridge or ferry. Found a road in today. Quick find. TFTC SydneyKiwi.

We had spent the morning looking for those 'Lost Wanderers" in the back blocks, so it was time to focus a little closer to town and locate some local caches. This could be a popular cache during the OZ MEGA - hopefully the owners are in on the geo-game.

Out on a Sunday drive on a beautiful day. After checking out flowering native plants at an arboretum near Wellington, I then travelled toward Murray Bridge. left a TB. TFTC Sydneykiwi.
Had a Goth visiting for the Murray Bridge Pedal Prix. Able to get a few in before the race. Having driven past this many times. Today was the day to stop and find. Thanks Sydneykiwi.
Made a (hopefully) stealthy find. Didn't stop to sample the wares, we have plenty of that sort of stuff at home and don't really need more! Lovely views down to the river here.
Quick drive-by on our way to Murray Bridge. Have stopped here many times over the years to stock up on some beverages.

Found as part of the record run to SA by The Demolition Crew (TDC). While, I am not a member of the TDC, I was fortunate enough to be caching with Blacklegend, Quasar3671, Trailrunning and Rebel Acts on what was for me, a huge adventure.
As I live with Blacklegend, it was fantastic when he said "Do you want to come to South Australia on a huge caching trip". I jumped at the chance, as I'd never been to S.A. or Adelaide, and it was a fantastic feeling to know I was going to be part of something big, and I was.
To be part of the Australian 24 hour record, at such an early stage in my caching career, so to speak, and part of so many other finds, was experience building beyond anything I could have hoped for.
****************
Sunday was fantastic, we were up very early because of daylight savings, etc. At the end of a full day caching, we had found over 100. This included the Fruit Loop series, and a heap of other caches around the area, including another earthcache, which was my favourite for the day. Loving the area andthe caches.
****************
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, and on Blacklegend's advice and with his assistance, I have also gone with the generic logs. As the others have stated, it in no way takes away from the fantastic and enjoyable hides we found on the trip. As Blacklegend and the other have said, my sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. TFTC, memories and the experience.

This cache was found during The Demolition Crew with Ponty95 24 hour and 1000 caches in 48 hours record breaking challenge caching run in South Australia.
I've been on quite a few caching road trips during my time as a cacher and this one was one of the best. The idea was to see how many caches we could find in 24 hours, with the goals being to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, and then continue on the next day to see if we could eventually find a total of 1000 caches or more in the 48 hours. Needless to say we did manage to fulfill both goals.
Not only does SA have some lovely contryside and Adelaide itself is famous for its churches, SA is also known for its numerous, extensive and well laid out cache 'powertrails'. The OZ Mega, OZ Signal and the Wandering Heros series of caches in particular are the largest and just a few of the many that can be tackled. With this is mind, TDC started planning the 24 hour challenge caching run back in late 2012, and over a period of many, many months we laid out careful plans on how we were going to break the Australian 24 hour caching record, as well as find as many caches as possible while on the road.
The intricate attention to detail proved to be esssential to us completing our goals. With routes planned, essential supplies loaded (especially museli bars, water and energy drinks) and every cache detail documented, we headed off on the 6th to begin our journey. By the end we had accomplished what we had set out to do, smashing the 24 hour record and finding over 1000 caches in the 48 hours. We had an absolute ball and needless to say were knackered by the end but the final result was worth every hours lack of sleep.
Apart from finding many 'stand alone' caches we did manage to complete the OZ Mega, Oz Signal, Wandering Heros, TDF, APM and PSA series, the 40, 50 and 60 series of caches as well as a number of Adelaide puzzle caches and a few Melbourne - Adelaide multi caches.
Due to the number of cache finds and the resulting number of logs to write, I am reluctantly using a generic log to log each cache. The same goes for my fellow TDC cachers and Ponty95, full appreciation goes out to each of the CO's who placed caches that we found, and without your caches our fantastic caching experience would not have come to fruition.
Thanks, Quasar3671.

When the Wandering Series was first published it had been on the agenda of The Demolition Crew, however we were not able to arrange a time when all of us could go over. Fortuitously as time went by, more trails were published. Upon looking more closely at South Australia recently, there were many more power trails than we realised, and a plan was hatched to go over and grab as many caches as we could. We were all finally able to arrange a mutual time during the Easter school holidays, so the planning stages began.
Given the limited amount of time available to us, and so many caches to grab, we realised that a huge effort was going to be needed to grab them all. Rebel Acts being known for his record breaking 24 hour runs suggested that we try a 24 hour run of our own. Now there was a thought, a challenge in fact we readily accepted. A bit more planning (a lot more actually) and a route was chosen and run sheets drawn up.
With all the puzzles solved, and most of the multi's these caches were reduced to traditionals for the run day. With cars packed, stamps made, and spirits high we made our way to South Australia to find some plastic.
The change in daylight savings time, and the time difference between Victoria and South Australia, saw us out of bed at 5:30, "time to cache" says Rebel, so we cache until 7:30pm before stopping for another hot meal and cold drink. Today the caching took us around Murray Bridge picking up caches not allocated to other days, as well as a run north to the Fruit Loop series which was completed in just over 2 hours. A great day to practice a power trail and all went well.
While I am using a generic log, it does not detract my appreciation of all the CO's who have put the time into placing and maintaining these caches. To each and every one of you, I thank you for being part of what has been the best cache road trip yet. Thank you!
Go TDC.

The cache was found as part of A massive cache run to South Australia with TDC Members Trailrunning, Quasar3671 and Blacklegend and a ring in Ponty95. It had taken us time to get this all together, finally a date was set and planning was started, I learnt one thing from my late mate dak's Emu Mob AKA Dave Kruger "Proper Planning prevents piss Poor Performance" he always said. Trailrunning was our master planner on this trip. I did this as part of a team but I also did it as a tribute to dak. having set the Australian Record twice before the question was, does the Rebel still have what it takes, I think the answer for that was yes. The challenge had been set down on FB "could the TDC find over 500 in a day, well we took up the challenge and headed to the power trail capital of Australia.

Found as part of the Demolition Crew record run to South Australia with fellow TDC members Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and a guest on the trip, Poynts95.
The trip was a fair while in the making, and many aspects had to align to make it happen, including all of us getting the time to go. However, the "stars aligned" so to speak for us, and the trip was on. A date was set and much planning engaged, and when I say much, I mean a very large amount. We had an old saying where I used to work, and that was "Failing to be prepared, is being prepared to fail", so, we prepared, and prepared and prepared.
With a challenge set, being, could The Demolition Crew find over 500 caches in 24 hours, we headed forth to South Australia, the magical land of power trails, and over the duration of the trip, found in excess of 1250 caches, and indeed, easily beat the goal on our record day. Importantly too, we had a great time together.

Sunday was another ripper day, which saw us up early, very early with the daylight savings adjustment and S.A. time adjustment. We cached all day, finding caches around Murray Bridge and surrounds not part of any other days activities, and we also completed the Fruit Loop run in around 2 hours, a nice power trail shake down. The day saw over 100 finds, and a nice meal and cold drinks at the end.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Due to the extremely high number of finds for the trip, I am opting for a generic log, which I never normally do, but as the others have stated, it in no way detracts from the high quality of hides we found on the trip. My sincere thanks to all cache owners who placed and maintain their caches, and made this trip possible for our group. You have all been part of the best caching road trip we have yet made. TFTC and the memories.
