Sadly this one is gone Sad

It seems so unlikely, but then I guess one of those train buff engineers knew that something was out of place.

I do not have the know how to reconstruct the cache container, so I will have to speak to my brother-in-law again!

Oh well...

We just loved this one Hoojar, Chip & Ding.
Almost drove us *#$@ looking for the cache. Great camo as others have previously mentioned that appears to be fashionable at this time.
Thanks for the adventure..

Thanks, I got this one while attending the event. TFTC

Found this one with the boys, at night, as usual. Man we looked dodgy. Good spot, I've definitely seen one like this before, they're so sneaky.

Surprisingly found this one inside 30 seconds. Some times looking for the obscure works. Most of the time it just makes simple things difficult. Great hide, love this type.

680 - 9 for today. Found on 13/06/10 2:59 PM
Had no problems with the train drivers today, located the likely place to search and after a thorough search the cache was located. TNSLLN

Well this was my first geocaching expulsion. I was casually inspecting the fence , the trees and the picnic table when a cranky old train driver came along and gave me a hard time, I explained what I was all about but he insistec that this was private property and I shouldn't be there and things shouldn't hidden here. So in the interest of peace I decided to leave.

Came with Toadmeister and Ace on a caching trip around Wollongong. This was one of the last for the day and as the rain set in we spent our time looking in all the wrong spots when my first hunch would have been better time spent. Trust you insticts Luke. Thanks HCD for a thoughtful cache.

Armed with a formidable caching crew of Woodyfigtree, Ace7 and I, this was sure to be another one that bit the dust. In a light drizzle of rain we approached GZ with all the confidence of the astronauts in right stuff. We probably were walking in slow motion as well. That confidence was soon diminished as were searched high and low, obvious and non obvious places. While I was searching individual sleepers of the tiny track and Ace7 was under picnic tables, Woodyfigtree came up with the find. Well lets just say that he got to the nub of the solution before us. Excellent adventure Hoojar and thanks for the cache

[This was a really nice cache. I had some intelligence on this one when I was doing another one of HCD's 10th anniversary caches. So embolden I thought it would be an easy find. Why did I ignore the 4 star rating? The family gave me 1 cache and 1 hr. 4 stars! What was I thinking? Anyhoo GZ was really lovely today. Only friendly kookaburras in attendence. So this is the 2nd time it has happened on a HCD cache. My GZ was some metres away on another structure. That being said, within the limits of the fail phone, the cache was still close enough. Maybe I dream of a GPS that shows me the cache [:p] i.e. "You're getting warmer!"...... So I got way too distracted with another structure and poked and probed it constantly. So, it was time to go home empty-handed! Sad. But as I was leaving, I checked a place I had previously checked and "c'est voila!". Nice camo. So even after having a fair clue about the cache container, it still got past me a few times. Nice camo work. Very nice..... ]
BTW Not sure about the terrain rating

Tested a few possible options but kept being drawn to one obvious feature and literally knocked GZ off it's spot. A very clever hide.

I'm sure that I have seen this container before somewhere .......
And it is still as impressive a hide as it was then.
I can however forsee it being accidently found by a youngster on one of the third Sunday's.
Thanks for a great event. SL

We've always enjoyed visiting islands dotted around the South Pacific and so we were pleased when one of this cache's waypoints gave us a chance to visit an island dotted right in the middle of a busy Wollongong road. With the WPs completed and final location programmed we soon joined a group of other early-starters who were all searching in vain near a small bridge for the container. With the instructions subsequently corrected it was off to the "real" GZ where there was still nothing anyone could find that resembled a cache. A phone-a-cacheplacer narrowed the search and the amazingly well constructed and camoflaged contaier was soon in our hands. Then it was a quick walk back for the official photo. The find was well worth the 33 frustrating minutes - Thanks Hoojar, Chip & Ding for the fun and for the inovative cache placement.

Found this one as part of the time trial at the 10th anniversary event in Wollongong, it was a great afternoon and a fun search, lots of cachers and some of us with the wrong info, but great day had by all. SL TFTH

Finding the final GZ was almost too good to be true. Ding agreed from the water.

A fun cache that we did as part of the 10 year event.
With this cache starting its life as a multi we were given the first 2 WP numbers due to muggles and quickly made our way through the remaining WP's and arrived at the GZ we calculated. After a long time searching both high and low (almost getting wet), KraftyCharlie arrived at the scene and had calculated the same co-ords that we had.
Many more minutes searching without luck so KraftyCharlie made a phone call to confirm the location.
Then the error was unveiled. We had been given a wrong number for one of the first WP's.
More info was given and the item we were looking for was spotted some 60m away.
It was not more than about 30 seconds after arriving at the real GZ the cache was found and the nice fresh log was being signed.
A clever hide.

Thanks Hoojar, Chip & Ding.

Did this one as part of the 10 year celebrations. In between the container going missing and it being refound I managed to get my name on the log.
Its great to see this container back in use.
Thanks HCD

One of the last to do the time trial at the 10 Year Event, it was with a very red face that I had to return to the event GZ and admit I couldn't find the cache at GZ Red Face. I had, however, located part of what I thought was a likely cache container. Hoojar confirmed the piece as being part of the cache, so accompanied by Ding and Chip I returned to GZ (at least I had the right spot) to discover that the cache had, in fact, been muggled. We did find more of the cache container though. But the story doesn't end here - the rest of the cache accompanied by the log made a mysterious reappearance Surprised Anyhow, I still get to log this as a find with the approval of Ding, Chip and Hoojar. Thanks for the cache!

Found after the incorrect info was given thus giving a different GZ to true one. So no true *FTF* could be awarded without a level playing field. Great way to see around this great park in the Gong. A couple of interesting structures near GZ..

This was the first time trial we have been able to do without our little grandchildren helping us, so off we sped thinking that we had a reallyl good chance at FTF...alas!! a minor hiccup with the original WP's sent us 60 mtr off course. After a phone call to Hoojar to rectify the tricky situation and with many more cachers not far behind, we raced off to find the cache. Signed the log, loved the hide and enjoyed meeting up with other cachers along the way...Thanks again Hoojar, Chip & Ding for organising our celebratory afternoon and all the extra caches you placed for our enjoyment.

I knew that I would never be in the hunt for a FTF on this cache, so I took the leisurely route & enjoyed a yummy slice of Krafty Charlie's anniversary cake along the way! I spent some time looking for WP1, but once I had that sorted, it was fairly straightforward until I got to GZ - but by this stage I had been easily overtaken by MV. There was a woman sitting in her car on the side of the road eagerly guesturing to me & saying that "he went through there", but I decided on going around rather than taking the direct approach through the bushes & it was much nicer. At GZ I met up with MV again for an easy find, but I obviously wasn't paying enough attention as to how the cache was meant to be replaced because I didn't see the inner container Red Face - sorry for the resulting confusion that was caused - at least I was one of the last finders for the day. On the way back out I had a brief chat to the woman in the car - I had thought she was a cacher, but it turns out she was just a perplexed onlooker, who was very interested in what was going on. I didn't go into all of the details about geocaching - she was happy enough with my "event time trial" explanation.
TFTC - a great container and a great day out.

This was great fun as it was the first time trial I have done. Thank you again to everyone who organized the event as we had a really good time. Now that I know what it is about may move a bit quicker between way points. Big Grin

Found during the Wollongong 10 Year Event Cache. Ozjeeper, Rudi63 and I walked the time trial course, and after arriving at the initial GZ searched with a few fellow cachers until, we worked out that from mtrax that the co-ords were out. Some more searching and the cache was revealed. TFTH...SL...TNLN

Found whilst attending the Wollongong 10 year event! Great hide - love it! Thought we did it in a relatively good time, but did spend a fair bit of time simply looking for it! Thanks for the fun Hoojar, Chip & Ding!

Reperio at 1630. FTF! This was certainly a nice bonus surprise having an unpublished cache to grab during a nice get together to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of caching. Being a time trial, I figured I may as well give it my all, so once the coords for the first WP were in hand...I took off as fast as my legs could carry me. Once I had collected the relevant numbers, it was off to GZ. Having sprinted there fairly quickly, the GPS took a little time to settle and had me searching in a couple of locations before the very impressive hide was found.

Gratias Hoojar, Chip & Ding for not only a well organised day, but for the bonus caches and being allowed the FTF!

attended the 10 year event, and was presented an opportunity to do an trail , phew a bit of jogging but mostly some fast walking till we got to the GZ and the previous teams where searching in the wrong area, and we gave them the new corrected coords but this was a good hide and kept the 3-4 teams scratching around till Tankengine tried a little harder on a location I'd even looked at and off we go.. pretty good time IMO if it wasn't for the long search time I think we would have given MV closer time.
all in all a good time, I probably wasn't expecting so much exercise at the event. phew...
Time was 22mins (with Tankengine)
thanks
