With such beautiful weather today, we decided for a trip out Byford way and to find a few caches too... This multi we started nearly 18mths ago! We found all the WP's with out any trouble & then had to call it a day to collect our kids after finding WP5 Smile

Today we decided to finally finish off this multi, even if it has now been archived Sad We arrived at said gate and did the calculations before heading towards GZ... It was very soft underfoot today & Master 2 made sure to leave his footprints along the way Razz Once we arrived at GZ, Jase found the prize in the first spot he looked [^]

TFTC Janale Girls Big Grin Cache was in great condition, as were all of the WP's when we originally started this one.

One or more of the following has occurred:

No response from the cache owner.
No cache to find or log to sign.
It has been more than 28 days since the last owner note.

As a result I am archiving this cache to keep from continually showing up in search lists and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 28 days), just contact a reviewer (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, the reviewer will be happy to unarchive it.

Should you replace the cache after 28 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.

Haven't had much luck with this one, will ask TOF's if they would like to take it over as we have moved out of the area.

Think I will have to give up on this one. Seems I am just not meant to find it. Waited many months for waypoint two to be replaced, then found waypoint three, only to be stymied at waypoint four (in the middle of a paddock by my workings??). Checked with another cacher and got coords for the last waypoint to get info for final gz. Crossed my fingers and everything else I could think of crossing. Searched high and low, near and far, but came up empty handed. C'est la vie! Will be watching to see if anybody else has any better luck than me.

Sorry to be so long in logging your cache Janale Girls, but better late than never. Had some difficulty getting to the second stage clue but Main Roads Dept have been in and cut the grass now (after 2 requests!!).
Had great fun working out the clues. Has given us ideas for a multiple cache! TFTH. Smile

Finally got around to doing the maintenance on this one yesterday, the missing WP has been replaced and all the rest are OK as well as the cache.

Happy Hunting!

The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you require more time please be sure to post a note (not an email) explaining the situation and how much more time you require. For ongoing issues please ensure you visit the page and post a note every month or so to keep everyone up to date.

Have been watching this one for quite some time. The last group of cachers to find it were using coords from a previous visit to find the final. Before that, the last logged find was twelve months ago, and was confusing back then. The cache owners have not responded and it looks like they have been inactive for over two years now. Think it needs to be archived.

Sign is fixed at waypoint two, but no keycase or coords for next waypoint to be found. Maybe the geocaching fairy can wave her magic wand here??

03-Aug-12
Called into today to check on one of my nearby caches, so I decided to check WP2 as a previous log had not found the keycase. I searched where I had found it previously and could not find it, the sign looks like it has been worked on. CO may need to check this one.

Didn't get past waypoint two. If we were in the right place, the sign has collapsed and we couldn't find a magnetic key holder anywhere. But I did manage to cut my finger quite badly on that damned sign though. Will check our calcs, but think the COs need to do a maintenance run on some of their caches.

WanderingAus wandered by on the way to Serpentine to replace my cache, and decided to swing by this one to check it out because of the confusing logs I'd noticed.

On 30 April 2010 Lisa of wellstrand tribe and I found a cache by following the cache description, and in it was a log book with a front page reading "Welcome to Janale Scenic Trail By Janale Girls 23-7-08. We came to the conclusion that Janale Girls had re-used the log book from the archived cache, as the only entry in it was the one by Urch.

The only other entries in the log book are those by wellstrand tribe, WanderingAus, oneplusfive and AmstradKid.

Benrichards01, Chwiliwr, Keego_and_Chil, richlink, Everlasting and iluvtrekking must have found a different cache, perhaps as a result of the "few tweaks" on 14 May 2010. Of course AmstradKid found this one between Chwiliwr and Keego_and_Chil - very interesting.

The cache bag did contain a pill bottle (not a film cannister) with an old business card and a piece of paper inside it, and "WP4 Janale Scenic Trail geocaching.com" written on the outside. This was left by AmstradKid.

LiL' Nut Buster TB was dropped in this cache by oneplusfive, and I retrieved it, but there seems to be a copy running around because chicodeagua06, who lives in WA but it's the USA one, grabbed it, and IndecisiveDuo, who also lives in the USA WA, discovered it in the hands of Chicodeagua06. I'll communicate with the TB owner to work that one out.

While I was there I dropped a bundle of trackables in the cache, but due to the uncertainty of it's future I grabbed them all back.

It seems that Janale Girls need to do a bit of sorting out - one of these caches needs to go.

We had done all the hard work way back in 2010 but somehow we had not returned to tick it off. So we were very happy to be able to log this belated find with richlink and Everlasting today. For the record, we found the cache on the other side of the fence and firebreak.

22-Jan-12
In company with iluvtrekking and Everlasting we came by to check this out. iluvtrekking had done all the waypoints on a previous visit but had not found the cache. After noting Amstrads log we returned to search further afield and fortunately it was iluvtrekking who made the find - a good thing seeing they did all the previous hard yakka. The cache that was located was a lunch box with blue lid and Amstrad was the last to log.

With iluvtrekking and Richlink, Which Iluvtrekking had done all the waypoints on a previous visit but had not found the cache. We - together search until Chris (iluvtrekking) find it. Signed the log. Thanks to iluvtrekking for hard work... Thanks to Janale Girls for organisding the cache.

We decided to do this cache as it had caused so much confusion with my attempt to place a cache near one it's WP's. This was multi really gave us the run around. It seems that the old multi was still in place, and had not been retrieved,as I AmstradKid found out. I had previously found the pill container with the faded CO's, AmstradKid has know removed this part.

I went to the final WP to do the sign puzzle part of the multi and proceeded to GZ. Armed with AmstradKid's previous logs I widened my search as the CO's were sending me to the North side of the fence close to the road. Through the fence and a quick search resulted in the cache being found. To my surprised the last log entry was Chwiliwr's. So I signed the log and contacted AK, he had found a different cache, maybe the old one? The one I found was a normal lunchbox with a blue lid.

Took a little longer than I liked. Last co-ordinate was out for me, read some logs and adjusted my search.
Left old pill bottle with cache. Thanks for the scenic drive. Oh the road works makes it a little harder.
Note: For final cords for cache:
Use the notice on the gate, assuming A-Z = 1-26

S32.13.ghj E116.00.klm

g = 6th letter is in the second word
h = 6th number of phone number minus 4th number of phone number
j = last letter in first word
I found j = second letter of first word is much closer to cache

found all clues up to WP#2 but after arriving at WP#3 looked for 15min could find no mag key holders on any fence post or telstra sign or film cannister in any tree or cache in usual hide spots ..so had to give up ..please advise if still doable
Thanx Bunnys

After completing the WanderingAus multi I continued on and found each of the waypoints without trouble although the two keyholders need to have the spiderwebs cleared from them but that is to be expected considering when the last cache was doing the cache.

Initially the final point proved to be a problem as the GPS had me on the outside of the fence but after eliminating the spots there I saw another obvious spot on the other side of the fence and soon found the cache. I had a lot of trouble puting the lid back on due to the amount of stuff in the container so it may pay to check it after a while that it hasn't worked loose with the internal force on the bottom of the lid.

Took finders card. Thanks for the cache.

WOW! This has been my first multi-cache as I am new to the geocache-ing scene but this was quite an adventure. Everything is intack and where they should be Smile Amazing fun and going to tackle the other multi in Mundijong tomorrow hopefully.

Took the red car and left some 3D glasses Smile

A few tweaks and we should be right to go!

14-May-10
Should be good to go now, if anyone does come across the film cannister with the old business card in it can you please remove it as it is indeed from the old cache. We searched high and low to find it so we could remove it but to no avail so we just thought it was gone.

Thanks for your patience.

Ok now it might all make sense....

We arrived at the second last WP as given to us by a small white bottle in a plastic ziplock that is very much worse for wear (so there is no way it is new) the cords for the last WP to take us to "notice on the gate" were hand written on a old business card and not like the laminated cords we had found at the previous two, so I guess we found the old multi final?

Because it took us to a place that we searched High and low without luck, we then sat and reread the cache description only to realise we needed one more step...a gate and sign. Well a quick search revealed something close by that fitted all the criteria needed for the puzzle, so we recalculated.. and what do you know, it took us right back to the same area as the hand written business card. Still unsure of what we going on at this stage we gave up, it was not until we checked online we found it disabled, so not a bad effort all things considered.

Will try again once we can confirm the gate and notice is the correct one.

Cheers

Thankyou Janale's girls for what turned out to be a most challenging cache ... and yes geodad did lose the plot over this one. With the amended cord at WP6 all is good and we found the cache very quickly this morning. A great 3rd to find in the end ... and WanderingAUS goes from geohero status in our book to geolegend, a very clever cacher. TSLS, plus left TB. TFTHSL Big Grin

oneplusfive wrote "ok I'm confused ... clue given for WP6 was incorrect ...what sort of magical powers do some cachers have?"

I've looked at the original listing, the amended listing, and my solution to GZ. Lisa of wellstrandtribe and I figured the "gate" would probably be to enter a park or reserve, and as a resident of Mundijong Lisa had lots of local knowledge of parks and reserves in Mundijong. We visited reserves, looking for gates, until we found one with a sign on it which "fit" with the clues provided. Lisa wrote down the result, I just keyed each number straight into the waypoint in the Magellan. If the clue given for WP6 was incorrect I made exactly the right mistake to find the cache. All I can say is, Lisa went one side of a natural object, I went the other side of it, and I found the cache within about four seconds, with my gpsr reading "0 to next".Big GrinCool[^].

I suspect that the clue given for WP6 was NOT incorrect. Either that or perhaps what I found was the "Archived" cache GC1EG5V Janale Scenic Trail by Janale Girls. Only the Janale Girls would know.

The "magical powers" are luck, persistence, luck, stubbornness, and luck, with just a tiny smidgeon of experience.Razz The "magical powers" don't ALWAYS work - see my two logs for GC1XZ9B Never judge a Brook by its cover by AlliedOz / The Jokers.Red Face[B)] [xx(]

Happy caching,

We stuffed up, the final co-ords involved a typo...that is the problem when one half of the team lives under a different roof from the other half of the team and one is simply following the others written instructions! Please accept our apologies, all fixed now and you should indeed be able to find the cache at the final co-ords that you work out.

If you printed out this listing after it was published (which of course you would have) you will need to revisit it as I have amended the details for WP4 (it now has eastings) and the final co-ords have now had their typo corrected.

All should be good now! SORREEEEE....Red Face

Geodad decided to take the kids off to Mudijong after school today while geomum went off to work. cracked all the WPs along the way and had a bunch of fun travelling around, but could not find the cache in the end ... very puzzled!!! Sad

Had trouble with WP4 and skipped to WP5 and got the final [maybe ??]. Is it next to the flour mill ??
Nice drive anyway

Jointly First to Find with WanderingAus - some of the middle waypoint clues were missing but we had some clues from the first thime this was placed and local knowledge took us to the last set of waypoints. Great spot to hide, wild flowers will be execellent when in season - but watch out for muggles - this is a quiet area with not much activity. TFTH

WanderingAus wandered by accompanied by Lisa of wellstrandtribe, found WP1, WP2, WP3, no instructions were provided for the Easting of WP4, so we skipped to WP6, worked out GZ, and made a very quick and easy GAFF 1 find. At first I thought we'd been beaten by urch, but then I noticed the date of that log entry and realized urch had found the original cache, so we were able to claim a joint FTF.

I drew some interest from two local muggles, the lady in the house next to the reserve seems way too interested in visitors to the reserve, might be worth moving the cache further away from her house.

My find No 2343, LCC, TNLNSL, grabbed One Cache GC (ref = TB148GM) which seems to have been hanging around here since 28 July 2008,Twisted dropped my WanderingAus Happy New Year 2008 Gold GC in for a visit before grabbing it back again.
