A quick fine for us at the end of the road today. Lots of muddy udders where we parked so we stepped around those and found our way to GZ. Thanks TeamdjbiloDomsky
After deciding to stay in town I headed out on the bike to get the ones on the way to the old railway. Was a nice quick find. TFTC
Full time Nomads since March 2014, in WA to visit family.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash. Today we moved our caravan from Kalgoorlie to Kambalda. Set up in the RV camp then headed on out to attempt the local caches. We found this one in good order today.

Day 5 of our road trip/ camping adventure. Many packed up and left this morning but N2O and I are here for another day of caching around Kalgoorlie. Planning a busy day to grab local caches after an epic couple of days out at Victoria Springs.
I found your cache Teamdjbilo which added to my adventures. Thanks for placing it. Your cache makes my 6188 find.

Staying in Kalgoorlie for a few days, we visited Kambalda on our way back to camp… The gizmo was going crazy here but once it smartened up it led me to the prize located in the obvious spot.

Out and about with ILT caching rural towns and dusty tracks - our kind of caching. Quick find here. Thanks for the hide.
pug002 found it 31/10/20 on our trip to Kal geocaching TFTC Teamdjbilo Pair of drongos, made it so hard on ourselves, should have been a quick straight to it but we did a tour of all the dirt track, up and down rough terrain. When we found it it was straight through to the main road,oh well you live and learn
Very rubbishy area but we found it quickly enough. It was exposed to the elements so I placed a large piece of bark over it. TFTC
Definitely on its last legs paper falling apart so didnt write on it. May be due for a update xx
Got stuck on otherside of railway tracks but once we found the right road it was an easy find. TFTC
Bit difficult in the night, but definitely fun trying to look for! We forgot a pen to sign our names!
First one since new account. Paper inside was wet, none to replace. Nice hidey hole
Hi there Teamdjbilo.
We found your cache **"Railway Station Was Us"** at 12:05:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 22285).
We are heading from SA to WAGB in Northam. We stopped off in Kalgoorlie on the way through to have the car serviced. Now we've settled in to the caravan park we took the opportunity to back track a little and find some of the caches that were a little further off our main route.
We found 5 caches today & DNF'd 2. Thanks for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic travels around Australia.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** Just another mint tin cache.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Holland Track Adventure
This trip had been on my 'Wish List' for some years
The problem was Logistics
I had to get the timing right...…….So many Variables!
Weather
The best time of year is after winter to avoid the very worst of the cold and wet, and before the weather gets too hot in summer
We were very fortunate to get nice warm sunny days and mild nights with no rain, the track was mostly dry and the deep mud puddles could easily be skirted around on dry tracks
Company
I did not want to tackle the track on my own as my vehicle is not fully set up for hard core 4 wheel driving, no winch or high lift kit which would be advisable, especially after rain
Luckily I found a group of other geocachers who were planning to tackle the track and I quickly agreed to join in the group
Today was the day
After spending many hours the previous afternoon removing all my work tools and other stuff out of my vehicle and packing in all my camp gear, I was ready to go early in the morning
Stopping to fill up with fuel on my way out of town then continuing on to pick up my passenger Mistraluna
While we had discussed a rough plan of finding caches on the way to Hyden I was not prepared for the coming adventure that this day would prove to become
Luckily we had all day today and tomorrow to get to Hyden where we would meet up with the other members of our party
On the way we stopped to top up with fuel and headed for our first cache of the day
From the fuel station we drove east to Pinjarra then on Pinjarra - Williams road, through Dwellingup, continuing east until we reached the power line road just past East Boundary rd. We made a left turn here and started heading north
The road was quite good and I did not need to use 4 wheel drive
I was thrilled to see a great number and variety of wild flowers along the roadside which I had not seen before
Our journey continues
Day 6
Arriving here very late after checking out the local camp site but realizing we would not be able to stay here as we were technically not 'Fully self sufficient' as in a caravan with a shower and toilet
Car camping was prohibited so we thought we might find a spot to camp nearby to this cache
When we arrived it was already past sunset and light was fading very fast
We found the cache and then took the opportunity to cook up some diner
I was considering finding a spot in the bush nearby but as we were packing up after diner, two vehicle drove past very fast where we had stopped for our diner, not long after there was a huge explosion as if someone had let of a stick of dynamite.
Not too far fetched as we were deep in mining country
This was somewhat unsettling so we rapidly packed up and headed off once more to look for a campsite.

It has been 4 years since I visited the goldfields with Chwiliwr on the way over to my very first Oz Mega in Murray Bridge back in 2014. We didn't have time to come into Kal and do any caching on that occasion, so I was keen to come and grab at least a few of the special ones around town. Found this one after traveling here from Hyden along the Holland Track with Team Red Roo, m4yb, megawatt60, SeabreezeOZ and ebenie rounding out the convoy. Amazing adventure, but nice to be back in "civilization" and having a few more caches to find. We were still on limited time, so a quick search of Kalgoorlie's caches with favourite points as a filter came up with a list of must do caches to target this morning. After finding most of those and realizing that the day was getting away from us, we headed south towards Kambalda, another town that I had never visited before and didn't know what to expect. Went out to Red Hill to start with - amazing views, but think we were there at the right time of day to take photos, just long before sunset. We visited two more caches before coming out here, and there was very little daylight left. We managed to find the cache without any problems though. Decided that we would use the last remaining light to cook up something yummy for tea, after which we headed on further south to find a place to make camp. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for the rest of us to come and find Teamdjbilo. We had a great day of sight seeing and cache finding in the goldfields area.
Landed up on the wrong side of the railway tracks, went around the world but got over them eventually. Easy find once there.
A quick find. Lots of signs of the old station and plenty of scrap metal lying around the area.
Thanks.
Thanks.
I'm getting ready for my annual trek north to avoid the cold southern winter, but I couldn't leave the Goldfields without trying for the caches in the Kambalda area. I found this one at 13:00 this afternoon. A nice easy find because the coordinates were spot-on TNLNSL TFTC Teamdjbilo
this one was harder then we thought so much fun our second box . regards Billiau Family
Abandoned as many country stations are now. Road transport has proven to be far more cost effective.
