With only one cache out of the six in the series needed to solve the final and no action from the CO this needs to be achieved. Was last found in May 2015.
Well, what a disappointing start to what turned out to be a disappointing day
We have had these co-ords ‘for ever’, and today was the day to go find it ... OR NOT!
We walked while the kids rode the ant-ridden track, and we were soon enough scouring GZ for this unloved cache. Sadly though after more than half an hour, we came up empty handed .. even after reading previous logs and messaging a previous finder.
We have a feeling that it has been washed away in the floods given the amount of times it was found full of water or floating near GZ.
Thanks anyway Askalon&Sons

A more apt cache find for today I could not think of.
I've had the final coords for this cache for several years now, ever since I planned to drop in with FelixII but had to cancel at the last minute .
I've been past this area numerous times since then but have always been put off by the warning on the gate around 800m East of GZ.
Well this morning I threw caution to the wind and made my attempt. An easy walk to within 20m, then picked a path thru the scrub, spotting the cache from about 5m away. Signed the log while brushing ants from my feet.
Thanks for a great series and final. Will award a fave point. TFTC.

I'm not sure but I think its been taken as I couldn't find it and it hasn't been found since last year
Popped in for a quick bit of maintenance.
Moved the cache in approximately the same location but higher to stop the water getting into the cache.

Finally got a viable set of co-ords so set off with iluvtrekking on the long round-about trek to gz. Negotiated the 'bridge' to cross the creek then found a very boggy walk through long wet grass for the last 10 mts. The upside was that we had a quick find. Cache is in pretty good condition considering location and although the log was damp, it was writable. Thanks Askalon&Sons
Set out early this morning in search of this cache. After we found the correct entry point we set off along the track, successfully crossed what was left of the bridge and sloshed through the mire to GZ where we made a surprisingly quick find. We were surprised to find the cache in good order although the log was damp.
Thanks Askalon&Sons.
Thanks Askalon&Sons.
So happy to finally log this one....have been working on it for so long....could not locate on a previous visit twelve months ago...today KB found within minutes...cheers Askalon & son
Lengthy but picturesque walk. Nice big cache; easy to spot once at GZ. Thanks for the cache Askalon&Sons.
Hurrah finally found this cache! I had it narrowed down last weekend, but then received a few hints from duncdonut73 so I finally had a single set of co-ordinates. So off on my trusty mountain bike and found the location - but OMG the A.N.T.S swarmed the whole area - where ever I stood my legs were covered.. argh.. they weren't biting so I just dealt with it and found the cache and it was full of water again, even the zip lock bag! How does that happen?!?! but the log was dry in a second smaller zip lock. I signed the log, emptied out the water and re-double bagged the log. Re hid the cache and did the crazy stampy stampy dance to try and shake off as many ants as I could.
Anyway an awesome cache and series that I started almost 2 years ago.

I have collected 5 of the 6 from this series years ago, and now this is the closest mystery cache to my home that I have not solved yet - so I must get it. I have narrowed the possible final GZ down to about half dozen co-ordinates, so I thought I'd go for a ride early this morning for bit of a reconnaissance mission to check the area out. Checked a couple of spots but gave up because of the higher water than normal with the heavy rains of last night. Thought I'll try and get a hint or narrow my choices down a bit more before I return. I'll be back - as I'm determined to get this cache now.
We have had the co-ords for this a long time and have even tried for the cache but approached from the wrong direction so were unsuccesful. After a bit of a helping hand as to where to park we added it to our list for today. We enjoyed the walk in on this beautiful Autumn morning and made a quick find at GZ.
Unfortunately the cache was 1/2 full of water - goodness knows how that happened but as the logbook was double bagged it was nice and dry.
We dried out the cache and returned it to its hiding spot.
Thanks for the puzzle and the hunt Askalon&Sons.

Accompanied with FelixII, The Machman, Tanzanite and Skullduggery. Meet together at car park. The weather isn't nice but didnt stop us for a walk.... plenty see birds and lovely river... There was farm before - can see some nice trees... remind me of my childhood in the farm. signed the log.
Thanks also to Skullduggery for organising the get together on such an appropriate day.

Isn't it fantastic being able to take a day of respite from the rat race to imbibe in a bit of caching with mates? As they say, a bad day's caching is better than your best day at work...
A nice quick find of an albeit floating cache.

We had been warned by Darth Duncdonut about the AT-ATs and AT-STs (giant and smaller ants) and any hesitation while crossing the Dagobah Swamp meant sure infestation if you stood still. I understand now that the fence on the edge of the property is not to keep us out, but to keep the ants in.
Thanks Askalon&Sons for a fun series.
Thanks Askalon&Sons for a fun series.
I had joined forces on "Star Wars Day" in Guilford with Tanzanite, FelixII, Everlasting and Skullduggery for an attempt on the two remaining Star Wars Caches.
I enjoyed finding all the other Caches connected to this series and have had a set of coords for the final for about 18 months, but have never managed to make the trek out this way.
We were just about to head off by foot for this "Final", when an alert came through for another newly published Star Wars theme cache, so our departure was slightly delayed, however we soon found our selves marching across the fields to GZ.
Found the cache, no problems at GZ, the coords were all good. However the container was completely full of water once again.
FELIX dried it out the best he could and we signed the log.
Cheers for this series, am sorry its taken so long to finish it !!
Thanks also to Skullduggery for organising the get together on such an appropriate day.

Well, well. Talk about May the Force be with you!
The Army received their rally cry to assemble today at 9.15am to tackle 'Cache Wars', well the Army assembled but our leader, "General Skulduggery" was stuck in the snarling wet weather traffic so there was lots of chatter and catch up but not much caching! (lucky for us as it turned out)
Once the General was onsite we set about amassing our weapons for the onslaught of this cache. Quickly learning that there was indeed a new cache released very nearby 'May the Fourth be with you'. We simply could not pass up this opportunity so we boarded 2 'Craft' and nabbed that one before heading back to the car park to set off for this one.
We have been steadily collecting the info for this cache over the 17months we have been caching but the puzzle was causing us some grief so we talked to a geo buddy then at the 11-11-11 event we conferred some more. Hmm next step was to email a previous finder. All great info but still looking dodgy once the rally cry was confirmed we emailed the CO who VERY quickly set about checking on the cache for us and also checked our GZ.
Once all that was sorted it was a matter of waiting for the General to lead the forces to GZ. The General and Mr Felix took the lead! With Mrs Felix & Everlasting taking up tail gunner position attempting to keep The Machman and Tanzanite! in the fleet.
On arrival at GZ, the temporary log was signed by all. It was a little damp as the cache was floating in water, but the double bagging had done a great job. We replaced it higher than previous, hope it's safe.

Make the trek out today to make sure it was all in order.
However it was full of water again. So I emptied it out, took the log for maintenance and double bagged a replacement log. I also repositioned the cache on something to keep it out of any creeping water.
If anyone gets it can they please try and put it in a similar position.

Joint 2TF, but FTF on Star Wars day!
I collected a gang of Star Wars lovers, and together with bsurin65, kellyxley and kellyxley's mum, we decided we'd try for this cache on Star Wars day. I had four of the caches but only three of the keywords and thought I'd have a go at solving the puzzle. I dismissed a couple of solutions that didn't seem to follow the order of the rest of the clues and seemed to get one that looked likely, and with the others, had a couple of solutions that conferred.
Today after work, we entered the Dagobah system searching for the cache under every nook and cranny, lightsabers at hand slashing our way through the long grass (together with sound effects from relevant iPhone app). After a bit of an extended search, there was no sign of Yoda or the cache. Admiral Akbar yelled, "we are under attack!" Sure enough, the mozzies were at us.
We retreated and I contacted ROgue leader to see if we might be in the right area; she suggested circling around to a different system. Having left our speeder bikes and x-wings about a kilometre away on the road, we had to track back to where we started and take a bit of a ride. By now the Death Star had moved infront of the sun and was blocking the light, so we had to work by the light of our sabers. Another long walk out avoiding the AT-ATs and AT-STs (giant and smaller ants) in the dark and we seemed to be somewhere on the Forest Moon of Endor (though it was dark and we couldn't really tell for certain, but as we seemed to have an Ewok on the team, it appeared to fit). Here, it didn't take us long to find and destroy the generator to release the forcefield so that the Rebel Alliance could destroy the Death Star. We dined and danced and celebrated for the rest of the night (we went for dinner at Nando's).

A voice in my head kept saying, “Use the Fourth.” But it just turned out to be my brother, duncdonut73, looking at putting together a squadron for an important mission. I immediately set about trying to discover the location of our objective, which wasn’t an easy task after four critical pieces of information I needed were recently lost. Nevertheless, I was able to work out the coordinates with what I could remember, and confirmed the result with the squadron leader.
We headed out to the objective in the late afternoon, finding ourselves in the swamps of Dagobah, where we searched in vain for quite some time. After receiving information from ROgue leader, we corrected one piece of data in the coordinates and headed off to a new location. We could feel the dark side of the force descending upon us by now, and had to evade many stormtroopers along the way, but with light sabres in hand we overcame the dark side and succeeded in our mission.
TFTC, and May the Fourth be with you!

Found with bsurin65 and duncdonut73. I couldn't possibly write as entertaining a log as those guys but needless to say we had lots of fun with numerous Star Wars references and despite wading through Dagobah swamp with all the mozzies!
Cache had 2 - 3 cm of water in it, but as noted by the donut, the log was fairly dry. Emptied all the water out and double bagged the log book. TFTC

Yahoo!!!! FTF at 6:26pm!
When this was published this afternoon I set straight to work with the information I had (4 of the 6 caches). I was pretty happy with my E coord, and was only missing the last 2 numbers on my S, and the GZ was close to the bike path, and near home, so I decided to walk a bit of a line and see if I could find it. Well, I didn't, I just got eaten by mozzies, so I sent an email to the owner to check if my numbers were way out and continued on my way home.
Luckily he fixed up the issue straight away, and I only had 1 number wrong (besides the 2 I didn't know), so I headed straight back out in the car this time, and had a much longer walk to GZ this time around. This is a beautiful area and I drive past here very often and have always wanted to explore in here, so thanks!
Arrived at one end of my GZ line, and luckily I quickly found the cache! Unfortunately since this was placed here in May, it has since gathered quite a bit of water, and looks like the water may have moved it a bit, as it was a bit out in the open just sitting half-askew when I spotted it. I tipped out the inch of water that was in the box, and rescued the travel bug, geocoin and FTF TB that have been here since May, and took home the smelly rusty mess to clean up a bit before sending them on their way again.
The mozzies were absolutely vicious tonight, so I quickly scrawled a message in the log book, which was mostly dry, and the pen still works and hot-footed it back to the car to escape the biting things. There's also plenty of ants around, including some very large ones, so beware if you are planning on heading out here on a night mission. I recommend insect repellant, good shoes and long pants... I only had one of those three.
I've enjoyed the series so far, and look forward to finding the last 2 caches, and had a lot of fun solving the puzzle. Thanks for the cache and the prize Askalon&Sons!
