Back to avenge our previous DNF!Quick and easy find this time. Thanks for fixing this one robmc. Thanks for the cache
Quick find. Found with Mogni. The plan this October Long Weekend was to head over to Victoria and host 3 CITO's plus host my first geocaching event, also increase my finds to 20 in at least 5 victorian LGA's. Given that we were caching in the country alot of km's were travelled. The weather was raining on and off all saturday including the night time but by luck all 3 events that day were dry. The first CITO ( and the cache of the trip ) was in Kaniva at the wetlands, the next in CITO was in Dimboola at one of the rest areas, and placing a future challenage cache then slowly making our way to wycheproof canavan park which was our accomadation for the weekend and then up to Mount Wycheproof ( the smallest registered mountain in Australia - at 43metres tall ) for my coffee and sunset event. Sunday started off with a early 630 am CITO in the Mount Wycheproof wetlands reserve ( sorry i did forget about daylight savings when i made the time for the event but it was a dawn and light still ). Now off to swan hill ( which is my least favorite LGA to cache in ) and then a few more LGA's and back to the tent in the dark well past dinner. Then it was slowly heading home via the silo arts works along the way and walpuep and then over the border to pinaroo and home. We went through over a milk crate of spare containers and got 2 and 1/4 garage bags of cans and bottles. Any caches that were found broken/cracked/etc were replaced and any full log books were replaced.
Definitely wasnt there last time we looked lol. Its there now though! Love the pump! Watch your fingers if you move the handle!
Did your Campbells Tank today. 11 September 2024 10:10 am Tyfc tigersden total caches now 6868 .
Found with Bogonghazy, sorceysal and Geo dog. Heading up to Mildura for the week. Thanks tigersden for placing the geocache
* Please do not tamper or force anything on the pump*Found this little guy close to GZ. Replaced it where I thought it should go. As stated in a previous log, it's a "magnetic mint tin," so use your imagination as to where it could be.....Great job to whoever was in charge of fixing the pump up, looks amazing.
A week of caching and golf with bogonghazy and Littleboss 2 in and around Mildura and of course any smileys we can pick up on the way.A great piece of history being kept for us all to see. A sneaky hide. Thanks tigersden
Motorhoming around in winter and finding a cache here and there. We looked all over the obvious places with no luck then geohubby looked elsewhere and there it was. TFTC
The third of four days cachign with Robmc. We had our planned caches, but often changed plans at the drop of a hat if something looked cool. Started off in Horsham, travelled north towards Birchip then west towards Kerang and then south to stop off at Pyramid Hill.No tank and almost no cache. Was replaced with a mint tin.
Day three with Day on our LGA collection trip around Western Victoria.Today we started at Horsham, and traveled northeast and finished in Pyramid Hill. The weather was drier but still overcast all day.Not much left at this old historic site. Although we did find the nano placed here. (well most of it!)We replaced the container and logsheet. It is now a magnetic mint tin painted black. Thanks, Robmc.
Yep nothing left at Campbells Tank not even the sign Campbells Tank. Some thieving idiot has cut off and removed everything, including the beautiful pump handle seen in the previous logged photographs.Even the historic information board is gone.People reported it toppled ove but it looks like its been removed long a go.The tank was completely dry today and we could walk everywhere and there is no evidence of anything, let alone a bison or a nano. Now there isnt any reason to place a cache here except for the tank site and a lonely piece of pipe where its obviously been severed from the pump section.
With dot558 on way home and stopped.Info board goneOvergrown with weedsSpent 20 min searching not knowing if it was attached to the sign or not
Driving to Ouyen from St Arnaud I decided that this cache required my attention. I was here early with no traffic about so it enabled the time it took to locate this cache. The lid was missing but the log was intact. I couldn't find any information board about this site.
Going through old drafts and see this memorable one sitting here...yes a lonely spot. Home-base is way out east at higher altitudes so its possibly the first time travelling through here but when youre on a multi mission all roads lead to caching! Taking the long road to Mildura to meet up with geobuddies chasing a few LGAs too and apart from that its been interesting too. TFTC and the FUN
This monument has fallen over and was hard to get to without slipping into mud. Teamwork with Hergab69 achieved success. tftc
This monument turned into a bit of an adventure. The monument has collapsed and lay on what looks like a gents slope but in fact the ground is very slippery and I nearly ended up in the mini lake/very large puddle. Teamwork eventually had the cache in hand, log signed and replaced. TFTC
I’m pretty sure the site has been destroyed. It’s lying in the weeds. I’ll sends photos of the structure and what was still attached to it.
Pulled over and area was so weedy and overgrown, with no obvious hiding spot and a weed infested step bank that, to be honest, I didn't really try to hard.

A memorable cache for me. Some knob has knocked over the sign. We tried at night and I fell into the post hole and stripped the skin off my shin.
Sadly, a DNF

Headed home from a few days camping up the Murray. Hows the package on that BULL. Certainly doesnt leave a lot to the imagination < This cache was a quick find by the kiddos while stretching their little legs.
Thanks for placing this cache and bringing us here

Little bugger, too small for us to write on but good hide nonetheless. Thanks for the cache!

Thank you!

Quick find a short distance out of Birchip. Interesting to stop here and see the grain bunkers behind the tank. Glad these historical markers are here so we can retain information about the past! TFTC
There is no water here today. Makes you think about how hard it must have been back in the day to survive and make a living.
Day #7 of the Birthday Bush Bonanza! Things were a little quiet at camp so I decided to go and do a little exploring before we headed to the local Indian for dinner.
With only a few minutes up my sleeve before I had to head back to Hopetoun for dinner, I quickly dropped down to this roadside stop. I fortunately found the cache quickly although the thred on the cache doesn’t hold together anymore so the cache is a little loose, but still in place.
Thanks tigersden for the cache and for contributing to the game.

Just so happy to be away from home for a few days

Whoops! That was meant to be a log, not a message. Photo attached, watched the sunset here. Love this area, grabbed this before heading back into town for a pub meal.
Found but couldn’t sign because the log was so jammed in we couldn’t get it out! Tftc on with our journeys
Found but not signed, didn’t wanna fiddle around with it. Took a photo for proof tftc
On our way to the aerodrome to take my Father in law back to his plane, we stopped to grab this one. Although it was an easy find, we didn't have an appropriate tool to retrieve the log, so photo of open container was taken instead.
TFTC. With regional victorians able to travel we decided to take the opportunity to head to Mildura to attempt the PS series. First we had to drive from Maryborough, so of course we stopped where we could find a cache. Thanks to all the cache owners. We will make special comments where applicable
Quick park and grab.

Off on a road trip to the Silo Art tour Vic, Mildura, Goolwa SA, Maitland SA and then home via Murray Bridge, Naracoorte, and the Grampians, picking up some caches along the way as we see the sights. After touring around the southern section of the Silo Art tour yesterday, today we headed off to see the northern section on another very very very hot and windy day. This was the last cache for the day on the way back to the camp site. While Mr Pooky jumped out of the geomobile and started searching it was Mrs Pooky who spotted the wee cache through the window of the 4WD. TFTC and bringing us to this historical little spot.
Interesting little spot, and the tiniest cache I have ever seen! Didn't have a pen with me so I couldn't sign the log. TFTC.
On our home from Mildura (neisha07, boo09, chan02 & myself) we stopped here for a leg stretch. A fairly quick find at an interesting location. TFTC
On my way to my accommodation in Woomelang for a few days I was about to drive past this Historical Monument. I was totally fascinated by the story never having heard anything like it before. Would love to know more so I have listed it for further research when I return home.

Stopped here on the side of the road to pick up some wood and 2beez jumped out of the car and asks "are you getting the cache?" Oh yeah. Didn't look!
Bonus cache and some good dry wood for our camp tonight.
Thanks tigersden for the cache.

GPS put us in the middle of the water, didn’t think that was right! Interesting info. TFTC
Found it pretty quickly, clever hide, I hope Campbells Tank stays around for a lot longer, a nice piece of history. TFTC tigersden
Found It.....Day 2 of our Painted Silo Journey. Found this one while on our 20th wedding anniversary holiday to see the Painted Silos. After pulling up a quick search soon uncovered the cache and with the log signed we continued our journey homeward. Thanks tigersden for the cache
Thanks Tigersden for another cache on a not often travelled road. We're camped at Brim following the Silo Art, and had been told about the vanilla slices in Birchip. Now hubby who thinkd I'm bo kerd travelling to grab a cache decided it wasn't too far across to sample these much sought after delicacies. He was probably right, but I won as I clocked up some more smilies and this was one of them. A quick find and soon my name was added to the log which is absolutely full now. TFTC SL
Happy Australia Day! Picking up some caches on our way to an event in St Arnaud. Quick easy find on the way past. Nice little "lake" here today, so glad I didn't drop the cache returning it to its spot. TFTC
Found it but the log book is so full that we couldnt even squeeze our names on it. TFTC
We enjoyed this cache as it gave us another insight into the history of the area. A quick walk around the object at GZ led to finding the cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tigersden for the cache and for bringing us to this historic location.
Vey interesting history re this pump. Took awhile to sight this very well disguised cache , after signing the log, was replacing it and promptly dropped the b......... thing in the long grass!! A frantic 10 minute search and thankfully it was found and placed back. Phew! Thanks tigersden
TFTC We are traveling around the Mallee country picking up a few caches while we do the painted silo trail. Interesting history about the pump. The log is full needs replacjng
Well they don't come any smaller than this. log room running out. Not just a drive by but history lesson too. Thanks to the cache owner.
