International Geocaching DayOff to Auckland with KGD & EyespyBenWeather was just light rain when we arrived in Auckland. The Plan was lets go and get as many as we can until we get wet. Then fine somewhere dry to get changed before heading homeGot this one in the end great hide thanks
This one had as going around and around for sometime then Mr eyespyben found itAwesome thanks
Up with ABCDF4 and eyespyben again. A wet day but spent time grabbing caches before we were too wet and headed back to the Waikato. This one took far too long for us to locate. GPS had us looking in different places as it jumped around. Eventually eyespyben made the find. Thankfully we signed and put back. Thank you for the placement
After a day doing some flying at point England managed to nab this on the way home, it was the first place I tried, TFTC..
On the way home after washing geodog at animates following this mornings muddy geoadventure and decided on a quick park and grab. A moment of hunting and was quickly in hand. TFTC
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Tuesdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Thursday we geocached around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Today we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields.I out did myself this week. I walked 27,000 steps on Tuesday, 22,406 on Wednesday, 25,500 on Thursday, 15,000 on Friday and 23,800 on Saturday. A big geocaching/walking week. I had just done the caches around the Panmure Basin. I looked at walking up Mt Wellington but rain was threatening. I also felt a bit tired so I decided to try some others in the area. No problems finding this well made hide today. It probably helped that it's the holiday period and a bit drizzly now. Thanks for the neat hide
Thanks, nice cache!
Left some blank paper in the cache, should last as a log for a few months anyway

As we are not based in Auckland any longer, if a finder can take a log scroll (ie tiny roll) to replace the full log, that would be great.
As we don't live in town any longer we are unable to replace the log so if someone is able to replace the micro log, we can keep this one going otherwise it will need to be archived. Thank you!
Searched for a little while, actually had cache in hand for a bit but was looking in the wrong direction. Enjoyed the search, wasn’t able to sign log as it was full - sorry, nothing on hand to replace. Took photo if CO needs. TFTC!!
I must admit, the fact that this cache had been found by an eight year old a few days prior, put a little bit of pressure on me.
Lots of possibilities, but it didn't take too long and I had the cache in hand.
Nice camo, blends in well.
Log is full, so I squeezed myself in somewhere near number 41.

Yay - in the area for some bmxing and stopped for this. Coordinates were jumping around a bit but once they took us to the correct general area - geokid 8 made light work of it. Thanks for the placement and the smiley .
Have had a few looks for this previously, but usually when it was Muggle City with the Footie on. Had a hint, that gave me a clue what to look for, but as my gps had me on the road, it was fair to assume that it wasn't accurate, but after a little bit of a search cache was located...nice one, and a little different from what one might expect given the location...cheers V.
After searching all the likely, and many of the unlikely spots, for half an hour we decided to call it a day. Messaged the CO in case we could get a hint. As we were heading back to the car, lo and behold we practically tripped over the cache on the ground. Signed the log and replaced in its hiding spot. TFTC!!
Great place to hide. Took us a while but found it in the end was about to leave.
Looking for a cache to tick off a dot day. Was almost going to give up on this when the phone rang and while having a chat I spotted something that didn’t look quite right and boom there it was. TFTC
During Level 4 lockdown, caching is not allowed. The cache will be re-enabled once we move out of level 4
Needed a cache to fill a dot day today. After a DNF at an alternative area I spotted this and headed on over.
Noted prior to arrival that others stated they need to look at things a little differently but super lucky for me I walked up, touched an item and hey there it was!
Thanks for the cache. Liked the camo.

Mrs HeMaLuDy was in the area today for an appointment and the motorway had been in my favour so I had half an hour to find a couple of caches. After thoroughly searching where thought the cache would be based on my GPS, with no luck, I was starting to second guess the idea I had in my mind of what I was looking for. Then I had another look on the cache page, had a lightbulb moment and had the cache in hand in the first place I looked - exactly what I had in mind from the beginning. Clever camo here. Found with just enough time to make my appointment.
Was in the area dropping of some charity baking and decided to make a start on the new wonders of the world and this popped up as containing one. At GZ I had a bit of a head-scratch and had caching blindness, but after a scan of the area and a check of some logs, I realised what I was up to and I had the cache in hand at my first attempt. Thanks for the piping-hot rocking cache!
This one really is next level cheeky!
Definitely a favourite and will bring kids back to see if they can find it!!

Omg finally found it. This was at least my third visit and then today, there it was. Reading the latest logs was helpful. So clever. Tftc!
Nice quick find here after playing a tennis tournament a couple hundred meters up the road! Nice camo on the cache! Didnt have pen on me but took photo for proof of find
Took a while to find this one as GPS was wandering. Mrs GELY57 found this one today! Really good use of local materials. Thanks for the cache CO.
Well I was about to give up on this cache but Mr 11 was like woah check this out, this one was like an Indiana Jones movie.
Awesome cache right here.
Awesome cache right here.
Really fluked this one, literally put my hand on it and there it was!
Added new bag.
Thanks!

Needed seven caches this afternoon to “see out the year”. This wasn’t one of them, as we had to give up after 20-25 minutes of searching. We probably didn’t do any good to the stone wall by removing (and returning) several loose stones in our quest for the cache. Our coords were bouncing around a lot, so we’re still not sure on which side of the road GZ is. Maybe another time!
I'm from Switzerland and spend 4 months in New Zealand on vacation. Found this cache after a few minutes search, thanks.
Hi searched for a while and Nöggi2 grabed it before me ..well deserved ..as he was not lucky with the last six caches we did together. hi from Swiss guys
My Grandson was racing at the nearby East City BMX track so I decided to wander down during a break. Had a good look, well I thought I had, but no luck. Hurried off so I would not miss the racing. When he had finished his event I tried again on the way home, 2 minutes later the log was signed. Nice hide and in good condition.
I was on a bit of a mission, needing as many as possible today, and after spending 10 - 15 minutes searching around both sides of the gate area, on both levels, without luck I had to call time on my search and move on.
Out today to get my numbers up for the year and to earn some more points towards those beautiful Hidden Creatures . . . GREAT HIDE
Came past here after work just as it was getting dark. After reading some of the logs I made a quick find. Nicely hidden cache, cheers
Second attempt at this one. After 'posing' for 'photos' in some nearby trees when muggles went past. It was starting to feel like we were going to need a 3rd attempt. But o'l Nicnacnz came up with the goods just as a car pulled into the driveway. Nice one Nicnacnz you rock!
Second attempt here. First time round we were in the right track... but obviously missed the target.
This time... I'm just going to check this area again. *hands on cache straight away* oh for crying out loud. I'd already put my finger prints on the cache but obviously not looked closely enough.
Signed the log but found I couldn't make it stay in the tube so put it into a small plastic bag to pad things out.
Thanks for bringing us back *again * and yay for turning our frown upside down

Beautiful! Luckily there is a break between cricket finishing and the winter sports starting so this is a quiet spot, even though it is a Saturday morning. I read the comments before getting here so found it very quickly. I love this cache. The only downside was that the log was too far down for my tool to reach!
Out and about today trying to fill in a few of our gaps and find some local caches.spent a bit of time here looking for this one but was happy to have spotted it.a great cameo.
Had a couple of cracks at this...
First the neighbourhood watch muggles spotted us so we aborted mission half way through.
Second time we returned and had a very thorough look. No joy. Hunted everywhere we could think... no joy. Read all the logs and ended up with a pretty good idea of what and where... still no joy.
We'll head back for another look.... BUT we did find a very suspicious item that looked like it may have had something removed. If its still there I'll grab a photo to confirm suspicions... (even if that suspicion is that my geo senses are undeveloped!!).

I was passing through this area today and needed to grab my cache of the day. That is how I came to be looking for this particular cache. I also had Mrs Sherlock with me and another friend. As it was pouring with rain, Mrs Sherlock stayed in the car while my friend and I began the search. It did take us a while to find... and it was only found as we were about to give up. So the log book has been signed and the cache is all back in its place ready for the next finder. So thank you fuzzynz for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC!
After 20 mins of searching we decided to check the other side of the road and found it in 2 seconds
A Fantastic day in Auckland hunting out caches, we decided to explore a new area (for us) and took a lunch break on Mt Wellington, fantastics views but very windy.
Used to come to this park quite a bit when I was at the University of Auckland Tamaki campus. We made a surprisingly quick find. With some luck and keeping the hint in mind, it was in one of the first places michaelteacher looked. Clever camo! Tftc
I feel really lucky after that one. Within a minute of getting out of the car and surveying the area, I had a thought of where it might be hidden. I saw something that could have fit that thought and lot and behold, It was the cache. This one could have taken ages though... nice hide and camo!
We arrived just as the heavens opened and the rain started to fall but fortunately the trees provided perfect cover and the rain meant there were less muggles so it turned out to be the perfect conditions to search undetected.
We had an idea of what we were looking for and a systematic approach soon revealed the cleverly camo'd cache. TOTT were required to extract the log which was nice and dry and in perfect condition.
A couple of seconds after we had re-hidden the cache and walked away from GZ a police car turned into the driveway which was very lucky timing as had they been a few seconds earlier they may have found our activities a bit suspicious.
Thanks fuzzynz for a great hide.

Had real fun with this one. Had my hand on it a couple of times till the penny dropped. Tweezers removed log. Signed and returned. Very nice.
Took a bit to find the right location of the hide, while merlot58 look on in amusement. Left the tool to retrieve the log in the car, but found a stick that helped. TFTC.
#3191. I had just spent a few hours walking around on Rangitoto Island and decided to drive along the waterfront to check out some caches in the Kohimarama and Glendowie areas. This was the last cache for the day as I needed to drop off the rental car at the airport. Parked nearby and headed off to the GZ. Once at the GZ I guessed what the hiding place would probably look like and the third spot checked had a cache container but no logsheet. No one mentioned in their recent logs that there was any issues with the logbook missing so I spent 5 minutes testing for another replacement. Nothing found so back to the original and added a fresh waterproof logsheet. Signed and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding the cache here.
Fifth find of the afternoon in the Glendowie St Johns general area . Realised what type of hide I was looking for so it was just a matter of picking the correct one of plenty to choose from.

We left the dogs in the car while we searched for this cache. Thankfully Pazzabella checked places that I had checked as I had totally missed seeing the cache when I checked that spot!
Found the cache but not sure if that was how it was originally. It was still nice and dry so thats what counts
I've tried to find this one probably three times before, some time ago now. Since then I've found two or three that are similar so had a better idea of what to look for. Today I rocked up and found it almost immediately #182
The mission of today was to grab a few caches with specific attributes for my current geolicence. This was the fourth find of the day. I had an idea what I was looking for... it was just finding the right one that took the time TFTC!
We were in the area this morning and stopped for what we thought might be a quick find. Our GPS had us moving backwards and forwards. A read of previous logs gave us a bit of a hint and we researched the area again. This time the cache was quickly discovered. We had picked this up once before and not realised it.
We found it difficult to get an accurate fix on where to start, but we widened the search and finally came up trumps.
We have replaced the replacement log with a waterproof one in the PB, so hopefully it will weather the summer.

Nice cache. Had an idea in my head what I was looking for so didn't take too long. Thanks for a great hide.
After DNF in fading light last night we revisited this morning for my nephew to find the cache relatively quickly. I had read through some previous logs which allowed us to narrow our search considerably TFTC
spent a while on this one but in fading light I came up without any luck. If I don't get a chance before I leave i will need to come back on my next visit.
