Nice and easy to get to after checking out the nearby column. Worked out what I thought were the answers, sent my e-mail to the CO who gave the thumbs up very quickly. Now back home in Australia and catching up on the logging.

Thanks for this one Loony Londo....fav point for the fun....

Ha sido interesante acercarse a un monumento desde un punto de vista geológico, aunque, claro, llevados por el caché nos olvidamos del aspecto artístico-histórico.

Had a great time learning about this statue, its pedestal and history when visiting London. Funny, in all these years before we don't seem to have noticed this statue... It stands in Nelson's shadow. Thank you for shining some light on it for us!

As I had a bit of time before a meeting in Charing Cross, I decided to log a couple of nearby caches. TFTC and the nice nugget of knowledge.

Comme j'avais un peu de temps avant une réunion à Charing Cross, j'ai décidé de faire une ou deux caches. MPLC et la petite pépite de culture.

What an excellent cache and a splendid CO. We arrived at the GZ late in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed this fascinating site. Having emailed the CO and promptly had a reply, we are delighted to log this as found. Definitely worth a Favourite Point for the interest, the knowledge and the fun; we dedicate this find to RE teachers everywhere. TFTEC!!

Trouvée ! / Found it !

----------------------------------------------------------------

We living our country to visit London during a romantic weekend. And when we say "travel" we ear "geocaching" ! For this time no GPS, no smartphone (we don't want to pay tonnes of euros ...), we go on the adventure with only a roadbook created just for the occasion. Our objective is not to look for caches all along the weekend but more to punctuate our visits with some geocaching ...
Finally we visited 5 places with 15 found it (if our answers at the virtuals and Earthcaches are correct) on the 26 prepared.

An amazing weekend to the muggles' country !

Thanks for getting me to discover a bit of history about this place. For last few years I would cycle here every day whiteout even knowing that this column was for.

Our second of two Earth Caches in the Trafalgar Square/Charing Cross neighbourhood this evening, after a very nice visit to the National Portrait Gallery to see a couple of exhibitions.

Both caches educated us on the properties of different kinds of monumental stone and we were very interested to learn about the properties of the stone in this plinth.

TFTC - thanks for setting and bringing us to this lesser-remarked part of such a busy place.

(We've logged this as a note and will change it to a find if and when our answers are confirmed by the CO to be correct)

EDIT: Email received from CO (very quickly - thank you!) and we have new changed this to a 'find'.

That one wasn´t as easy as it seems but I finaly made it. Not a bad idea to make a earth cache here. In this area it is quite easy to overlook "small" monuments like this one. Nice little chalenges. It was fun to find out the answers.

Thank you for the cache.

Well what a busy place this area turned out to be. In Australia its hard outside of sporting events to get this packed gathering of people!

This cache was my first introduction to this type of stone! And of some of the issues associated with it existing in a modern city.

Nice place, nice cache!Big Grin

This area was one of the first we visited in London and we returned on several occasions to undertake various guided walks around this part of London. With nigh on perfect winter weather there plenty of people around enjoying the sights.
It actually took a couple of visits to gather all the correct info - that's what you get when you just turn up and turn on the GPSr to see what's around.
The statue is impressive gazing down upon the seat of power.
CO has confirmed our answers.

Having just arrived home from our o/s trip we now have internet access. Have emailed cache owner and have approval to log our find for this cache. What a wonderful day it was today in London. We spent the day on the bus tour, to Tower Bridge and The Tower - very interesting and worth going to. We then came in to Traflalgar Square where we found the information for this cache. The square was relatively sedate. We enjoyed a nice dinner nearby and then returned to the train station to leave the city. We were completely amazed by the number and crowd of people walking around central London. What a fun and exciting place it is. Thanks for the cache here and the opportunity to claim a London cache. TNLN and now logging our find.
