Like others, I parked a little ways past GZ and walked back. Interesting bit of history. TFTC.
Stopped down the road a bit and walked back to GZ. A fascinating piece of history which is no doubt missed by most zooming along the road. Quick find, signed log and left better than found. Thank you for the placement of this geocache Lehcier.
Container is black, not green. But very simple to find! I love quick easy finds - it helps not to waste time on the road.
TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Stopped as we do tend to if caches have an historic link. Sobad moved the car further down the road to a safer spot while Mrs found the cache then walked along to join him.Thanks.
Cesta je fakt moc pkn a myslm, e ped i tu slavnou australskou Great Ocean Road. Today I drove from Dunedin to Invercargill and chose the Southern Scenic Road. And I did well. Beautiful landscape and lots of attractions around. The morning was beautiful, then showers and strong winds came, but I still went on three shorter walks to the lighthouse, to the waterfall and on the beach to the petrified trees. I found 20 caches on the way and I really enjoyed the day. Thanks to everyone for their caches and greetings from the Czech Republic.

The three of us together ?? found this on our way to Purakanui Falls. Just a little time before a helpful driver helped us changing a tyre of our rental car close by the bridge across Waikawa River. -- TFTC
Day 5: The CatlinsOur journey today took us down to the Catlins for a whirlwind tour of all the sights we could squeeze into a day trip. Of course, there were geocaches to be had too, plus plenty of photos and sightseeing. Thankfully the weather held up for most parts today, so we could enjoy all the great scenery and the geocaches as well!(end of the cut and paste bit)An interesting stop here, though the parking wasnt too good. Nice to see a little relic of all transportation still alive though it definitely has seen better days. Cache was found with no trouble, of course. TFTC!
Heading west on day 2 of our trip to The Catlins. Quick cache & dash on something we would have never noticed. Thanks for pointing it out to us.
This a very interesting marker post. the cache was quickly found and we took the travel bug.
#22051. Initially I was surprised that most mile markers are gone, but when I saw this one is wood it made sense it was the only one left. Quick find by Troodles. TFTC.
Not sure why we haven't stopped for this cache before, as it is a driveby. Anyway, today we had it locked it, there was no traffic behind, so we could safely pull over.
An interesting piece of history. We could see the geotrail of the previous finder, so no trouble finding the cache! Pleased we stopped today. TFTC.

I'm doing a road trip through Southland. Today's leg is from Dunedin to Invercargill by way of the Catlins and Bluff. Old School Challenge caches are the focus of the trip, but there's a few others to look for along the way as well. An interesting bit of history. TFTC
Grabbed this today, was my first time downloading some caches that are out of cell phone service. Must have done it right as I found a few. This cache was really cool, totally didn't know this marker existed. These stops are my favourite thing about caching - learning something new. THe cache was in great condition, safe and dry, TFTC
interesting. Day one caching and seeing the sights of Otago and a bit of Southland with raylnz (big Sis from CH-Ch.) Brilliant day on the coast. Good to be out and about before our next self-imposed home detention. tftc
All good here. Interesting spot. Out of a day sightseeing and caching with gdkja.Tftc
I hadn't actually read up on this one before stopping so it was nice to find a historical gem. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are now parked up at the NZMCA Niagara campsite for a couple of days, exploring in & around the area … we went for a bit of a drive this afternoon & thought it would be rude not to check this cache out … found with no issues, log completed & cache returned … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #2,188 for us.
Definitely a "Who knew?" cache, Mr P waited patiently in the car as I raced across the road and made the find etc. T4tc

Out & about in The Catlins between Niagra Falls and Papatowai trying to locate the remaining caches that I want to sign off.
I had past this a few times over the past two days but this time I signed the log.
Cheers for the cache.

Heading down to Invercargill for 4 days of work, be rude not to grab a few caches along the way!
Heading back on a drivetest on 92, I didn't really have time to make too many cache stops until I complete the test, however I saw this and figured it would be an ideal. It certainly was, I had no problems making a find. Thanks!
TFTC Lehcier, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 3 today, making this find #2983

Day 8 of our South Island roadtrip & our last day in the Catlins. Today our travels took us to Waikawa, Curio Bay, Slope point & the Waipapa Point lighthouse before backtracking to Papatowai for dinner at the Perkes foodtruck & a few spots in between. We had the most awesome brunch at the Cafe in Niagara & enjoyed beautiful sunny weather & many stunning views!

First of the day. No issues here, a nice bit of history. TFTC Lehcier.
The 8th day of a South Island road trip for myself and RG1972 and our last day in the Catlins. Today we went to Waikawa, Curio Bay, Slope point and the Waipapa lighthouse before backtracking to our base via Papatowai and a few spots in between. We found a couple of great food options, some more golden sand beaches that we didn’t know the area was known for, and struck some nice weather again. All that and plenty of history and views, thanks all COs for highlighting and adding that extra special reason to visit these sites.

I hope this is ok, I replaced the cache with a new log, would be a shame to let this one disappear, it is now behind the 30 mile sign by the fenceline
Dnf met the farm owner of the land in the geo vicinity, he says the post was actually on the other side of the road before they tar sealed it,
Was here over a year ago and forgot to log it, today i stopped again and resigned it.. finally logged it.
The bushes either side have had good haircuts, but cache is nicely tucked away.tftc

Day 14 of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
I haven't been this far south since my very first visit to NZ back in 1988, and have never visited the Catlins before but had heard so many good things about it that decided I would put that right this trip. Having spent last night near Ahuriri Flat, today's plan was to meander my way through loads of sightseeing (and caching) opportunities to end up in Invercargill by nightfall. For the first time on my whole trip, I wasn't to get brilliant sunshine all day long but considering the time of year I was still being very fortunate.
The friendly people in the Balclutha i-site had suggested I might wish to visit some waterfalls, and I'm glad I took their advice. So now I was driving between the Matai Falls and Curio Bay, and pulled over to stretch my legs and see if I could find this cache.
Found quickly today, there were no issues with either it or the log, which was signed before everything was replaced exactly as found and I was back on my way again.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Day trip to the Catlins with Wombat1234 and Kiscardi
These two lovely ladies agreed to come with me and help me grab some caches between Fortrose and The Chaslands, full of laughs and good spirits we set off and attacked the day allowing me to bag 17 caches for the day ️ Thankyou lady’s. Coordinates are a few meters off but not by much, nice little park and grab. Love the mile marker. Rock bug added to cache T4TC

We were heading to another cache when the car stopped & I was told you might as well get this one. The others had already found it so was a bonus for me. Quick easy find TFTC
On an awesome adventure with KGS in the Catlins today! It involved a 36km detour in each direction, but we had a great time and found lots of caches in spite of suboptimal coffee supply. TFTC!!
I like old things like that, i am happy, because geocaching shows us such places! Thanks!
Heading down the coast through the Catlins to Invercargill to spend a few days with Ruru_NZ but we need to find a few caches that I haven't cleaned up on the first trip I did down here. Won't get all of them but will do as many as possible.

Met up with KCN in Dunedin, and making our way back to Invercargill over the next few days. Mostly picking up gaps in her finds here in the Caitlins leaving others for me to get another day.
Called in here for a find for KCN. Still amazed how this not only survived but was recognised for what it is.
KCN picked up a trackable.

On holiday in motorhome so parked further down in side street and walked back. What an interesting sign, glad it has nice fence to protect it. Love how our new hobby shows us interesting things we wouldn't of known about. Thanks for this cache Lehcier.
Whizzed past this one, then managed to park up in a convenient side road and walked back. Quite an easy find, thank you.
Having a weekend in Queenstown visiting some friends, so decided to make a bit more of the trip and transfer a rental car from Queenstown to Christchurch and go the long way along the Southern Coast of the South Island, mainly focusing on the Virtual caches down here, and anything else I head past.
Some unexpected history here, very cool. Well worth the stop.

Heading South for a geocaching adventure. Main mission to get the last two Old School caches I need for the Challenge. Have never been this far down the coast before. Nice quick find and left a TB TFTC
Today we made a trip from Dunedin via Milton, Baclactha, and the Catlins to finally Invercargill, visiting some new sightseeing locations and looking for old caches. On this trip we searched, found and logged a lot of caches, too. The weather was warm in the morning and in the afternoon, but no rain at all.
Almost no muggels observed us as they had other things to do than observing harmless geocachers.
Thanks to Lehcier for showing us this location and for the fun we had at 30 Mile (Otago). The search we had here today didn't take too much time.
Greetings from Germany and hope to see you soon in the forest.

A interesting spot
Many thanks to all the COs who helped make our geocaching holiday a great success
We left home early April and returned 21 May 2018. We toured from our home base up to a wedding in North Taranaki then carried on heading south right down through wellington and on down the west coast and back up via the eastern side of the alps some times going around in circles. Our aim was to get as many smiley faces on the puzzle caches that we had solved but of course stopping for many traditionals, multies and others as we went. some time we biked the bike trails or walked but mostly by campervan. we enjoyed the quite back country roads, many of them were metal but we just travelled along slowly going from cache to cache. Most caches were in good condition and I will remark if we thought it needs maintence etc.

Missed the stopping point for this cache yesterday, so stopped on the way back to Curio Bay. Nice bit of history, driven past by most, so TFTC and making me stop. Deserving of a favourite
A quick park and grab while out about grabbing a few caches down in the south. Nice and easy to find and on to the next one. TFTC
We initially drove past this one earlier looking for a place to park. We gathered a few more smilies between here and Papatowai, returning a couple hours later. Ironically, our 17th and last cache of the day on the 17th day of the month and St Paddys day.
A quick stop on the way home on a successful caching day. Pleased to say there were no DNF's. TFTC
I'ive started my beautiful trip of the South Island in Christchurch, I've visited many beautiful locations. I've travelled via Lake Tapeko, from Dunedin to the most southern part of Bluff. I've then continued with a cruise in Milford Sound and then back to Queenstown.
From there on I've visited Wanaka and the Haast pass to the Franz Josef glacier. I went all the way up to the Abel Tasman NP. Richmond und Nelson as the sonnierst cities were on my list as well.
I've soon reached the east coast in Picton and Blenheim.
After a couple of days, I've then travelled back to Christchurch via Kaikoura.
I've spent a couple of days in Christchurch and it's surroundings.
I've visited many geological sites and have found many caches along the way.
I've travelled 3500km and have experienced so much.
Thank you to all the owners

Took my life in my hands too get this one ....tricky spot to find parking for a motor home ....all ended well found and signed replaced as found thanks Lehcier for the placement
This was a bit tricky to get to in a motor home as there was not much room to pull over but this wasn't going to stop us. Interesting history. Thanks for bringing us here Lehcier
Exploring this lovely area but certainly wouldn't have seen this interesting spot without a cache. Nice quick find on a quiet traffic morning-thanks.
Yet another fascinating bit of history that would be so easy to drive past and miss. I remember seeing some similar markers in England but they were rock. Thanks for making me stop. TFTC # 11,990
The search for the cache was acompanied with the smell of a dead lamb that was lying behind it in the field.
The marker though was nice.
