Okay with the tree gone I was back armed with the info I got from a previous finder. Looked there, as I did on a previous occasion, and even took a photo this time to confirm that it's gone.
Without the tree it's not a good spot any more anyway so should go. Cache owner is probably long gone.

DNF but I can confirm that the tree is gone. Just an empty garden bed and a pile of sawdust.
Came back yet again armed with more information to find that the old fig tree has been muggled by Cyclone Yasi! Recvently some large metal props were placed to support branches on the opposite side to GZ. Well they seemed to help as the rest of the tree has collapsed right onto GZ! I went under to see if what I thought was the cache was still accessible but a branch actually lay upon it. I am fairly certain from my last look that it had been muggled anyway but this was the icing on a fairly nasty cake for me!
Will see if the CO returns to caching, failing that, when the tree is removed can someone check it's still there?
Thanks. Back home now...

Multiply that DNF by 5 or so and you'll get an idea of how many times I've dropped by, however briefly, to look for this, my nemesis cache. I get to Townsville from Sydney for work on a regular basis and when I get a moment I drop by for a look. Usually there's too many people around for much of a look but tonight I had a very good look and tried everything I could think of. I even have a slight clue (what NOT to look at) from a previous finder but nothing for me. If the GPSr is correct then it's the best hide of this size container I've ever seen (or not seen). The CO appears to be long gone (not logged in since September) but the logs say it's still there. Amazing that anyone could find it easy enough to just log 'TFTC'.
I'm going to have to wait for help on this one...

Nice easy find on a very quiet sunday morning. I would love to walk around inside the old railway station. Log book is very damp after all the rain we have had. Thanks roniniro
Last chance we had to find just one more cache before we left Townsville and as we were in the area decided to have another go at this one. This time we got it but sadly could not sign the log as everything was totally saturated. As we weren't actually intending on finding caches that night we weren't carrying any spare cache gear. Nice hide, even if we didn't get the hint? T.F.T.C.
Found it with first time cachers. The three yo was happy to find the treasure. The log book is seriously water-logged - no longer useable. Took ball, left keyring.
Was in town after diving the GBR. Looked around a lot, but did not find. My garmin wasn't getting a lock in the southern hemisphere. Security from the rail station came out and asked us what we were looking for. We explained the deal and he went inside and found a co-worker with a gps phone and they tried to help us out. So don't be afraid of Steve, He'd love to see the cache hidden in his front yard. Cheers!
Well I had something of a look this morning before being spooked by people turning up to work. Not sure what the clue means apart from the obvious and that could mean the odd accident? Anyway I'll have to come back to this one when I get to TSV again. Thanks!
Mwahahahahah .... easy find (if you have the FTF Geodad with you). No, really had to find this one on my own (again, can you see a pattern here) with only a few small clues. Cache is pretty water-logged and needs drying out. Really great spot!

After all the visits - how easy was that!!! Must have had a different frame of mind and a bit of help from Summer'sKoby and it was in my hand immediately. Have faith in your GPS it pays off. Thanks for a great hunt. Excellent hide in a great area. TNLN TFTC
After receiving a hint from the owner we arrived full of enthusiasm to find an orange fence around the tree - every leaf raked up and all the area cleaned up. I think it would be lucky if the cache is still there. We were very disappointed.
Searched for yonks but to no avail. I am having my doubts as to if it is still there. Roniniro do you mind having a gander to see if it still exists?
Well we spent a good half hour - and must be blind or dumb!! Trusted the GPS as suggested and then tried all sorts of things but to no avail. If it is still there you are a very sneaky hider Roniniro. Well done. Might add this is the second time we have searched. Thanks for the hunt.
No luck today with two pairs of eyes . Fairly confident we knew what we were looking for but checked all the potentials and none contained a log book. (Please let me know if this log is too specific and you would like me to modify it). I was having a particularly bad day out today so will stick it on the watchlist for next time.
Well we tried and tried again but this one has left us at a loss. Maybe another time.
I have seen one of these before in Darwin.
So it was a matter of which one?

This is unfortunately my 2 DNF tonight. Looked high and low and came up empty handed. As I was heading towards my car I saw the railway security guard stare to me oops I thought so did the good old use the gps as a phone trick : ) and the pesky security went back inside the building pheww. Will come back here during daylight and I may have better luck.
Thanks for the hunt anyway.

We made several trips to this cache with no luck and even drew the attention of a passing muggle who had seen us in the same spot two days in a row. We had been overthinking the hunt but with some further clues from roniniro and putting complete trust in the GPSr we finally found the prize. Great hunt, thankyou. We too replaced everything exactly as we found it.
Another collaborative FTF, this time with the Summer's Koby family (your kids are super cute). Cache exactly where it was supposed to be, though lots of hunting high and low was done before the location came to light.
Great job for your 2nd cache Roniniro, BANG on the coords (trust in the GPS Luke). Loved the location and it's history, and the hide was great ... refurbished exactly as we found it!.
